I came in from out of town. What a great hidden gem in Northern Michigan. I had the Walleye which was phenomenal and one of their craft brews. I sat at the bar, because I dined alone, and the bartender was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about both the drink and food menus. I'll start by saying the decor in here was amazing! Hand carved wood tables and chairs and a real up north feel. Not a ton of beer choices but plenty enough to choose from. Hilariously bad. Got the fish special. Plate was so unappealing. Broiled white cod (I asked for it cooked any way but fried) on a white plate next yellow corn and a white baked potato, plain, with packets (really?) of butter on the side, does not make for an appetizing plate. Friendly staff, above average food, very nice setting and good homemade brews. Waitress was a little spacey but still very nice. Worst part was the band, they were atrocious. It took us an hour and 10 minutes to get out food, our waitress was not attentive or friendly. When our food finally got there it was cold and about the same quality you would expect from long John silvers. Avoid this place unless you just want a beer. read more

Service was slow. Only 4 tables of customers when we got there. People who came in got their food before us. Walleye meal was one lousy thin slice and it was dry! Grilled chicken sandwich was dry! Sirloin Philly sandwich was dry and actually brown as if it was leftover and microwaved to OVERDONE! Side salad was wilted and tasted like day old, not fresh made. I have eaten here before the Brewery opened and it used to be good. I was embarrassed taking out of town company there today! This resident/bar is a clean facility and well decorated. The food is pretty good but the service could be a little faster. We've eaten here several times and will go back. Just think about rather or not to eat here if you're in a hurry. read more

If you like greasy bar food it's your place! Homemade beers are below average. There are many places in Grayling that are better.

Live music, good food (love the fish!) and beer. Nice wait staff too. Worth the trip and perfect for unwinding!

I've eaten here several times and everything is so good. I usually have a hard time deciding what to order 'cause there's so many good things on the menu. The bruschetta is the best I've ever had. The aporkalypse is a huge portion of three kinds of pork on a bun. It's amazing and I have food for two days. I recently had mussels with angel hair pasta. The sauce is perfect for steamed mussels. The meatloaf is not as good as my mom's, but still good. I haven't had the fish myself yet, but I've heard from people I've been out with that it's really good. I recommend this place as long as you don't see a big blue bus in the parking lot. That's a bus load of Soldiers from Camp Grayling and service will be slow if they're in front of you. I think that might be the reason behind some of the poor reviews of long wait times for food. They're all posted in the summer months when Camp Grayling is jammed packed with troops in training. read more

Arrived on a Tuesday just after the lunch hour, so it was not busy at all. Nice looking place and the prices were on the high end, but not if the food is good. Since the food was nothing to brag about, the prices are way too high. The fries were chewy, as in left to sit for a while and then reheated. The Reuben had almost no sauerkraut and the meat was from a packet. The El Diablo Oso was eh, and the burger was nothing noteworthy. I think this place rates on the scale of the Big Boy down the street for food. We don't drink, so I can't speak to that. read more

The food was great but the service left a bad taste in our mouths. I should have known better when we arrived. A tell tale sign of bad service is when someone takes your name & the number of people in your party & then never returns. I was informed by another hostess 10 minutes later that there were no "clean" tables to sit new diners at. We should have left. The service just got worse & worse. Our waiter forgot to bring us our drinks, multiple times. I ordered a hot drink & it was cold by the time he brought it to our table. I saw it sitting on the bar counter. I was tempted to get up & grab it myself. When our food finally did come out (15 minutes after the people who were seated 1/2 hour after us), the green beans & fries were cold. The green beans were very delicious though. I ordered the salmon & it was hot & very good. Unfortunately, our waiter forgot to bring us our salads before our dinners came. He finally brought them out after we were done with our meals. He then acted surprised when I asked him to box up the salads to go. I think he could tell I was annoyed with him & his tip reflected it. We visit Grayling over a dozen times a year but we won't be coming here again. 19 August 2016, I've ordered appetizers and main meal. The appetizer took 35 minutes to receive after I ordered it. I'm still waiting for my main meal 1 hour later. Granted I was in a group of eight, the food took way to long to receive. Maybe they are understaffed for their cooks. I will not return. read more

Still my favorite brewery/restaurant in Grayling. Love the atmosphere. The wait staff is the best and the ruben eggroll appetizers are good enough to make a meal out off. Their beers a very good, not over priced and they carry many other brands on tap as well. Haven't had a bad meal, or one I didn't care for yet. read more

Hamburger was excellent cooked just as we ordered. Also had deep fried pickles and the Parmesan cheese mashed potato bites all was very good. Service was excellent " thank you Stacie!" Food was delivered quickly. Enjoyed the beer samples and tried their Hefeweizen and Ursus Lactis beer. I enjoyed the Ursus Lactis best! Very good. The food was excellent, a great place for a burger and some beer. Head brewer is very skilled and their home brewed beers are the best! Had a wonderful experience with Dead Bear Brewery. Very cool restaurant and bar, nicely decorated and very clean. (However, not a fan of the vacuum in plain sight in the ladies room). So-so service and it wasn't even busy. I have eaten at this place on 3 separate occasions and been very dissatisfied. The first occasion was in Sep 2014. I had the rib eye. It was small and tough. I sent it back. In April of this year I went there and had the fish. The batter was tough and doughy. The grease wasn't hot enough. Recently, I was in Grayling delivering a large trailer and stayed at the Ramada. I didn't want to drive around town with this trailer so I decided to give this place one more chance since it was close to the hotel. I was planning on just having the Angus burger (9 bucks), so I didn't think they could really srew this up. Well, they did. The burger was small and overcooked It was the WORST and I mean WORST burger I ever had. DON"T EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE. ALL THEIR FOOD SUCKS. I can't believe they screwed up a burger. read more
