Excellent brewery/restaurant in Grayling. I've eaten here twice in a seven year span and the beer, food, and service are still great. Latest visit was last week and we were going to arrive right around kitchen closing (9:30pm). Called in an order and they held it for us/let us eat inside and grab beers. Appreciated that greatly after a long drive. A handful of plant based options like tacos, bowls, and pita sandwiches. I ordered tacos and the pita and both were yummy. Beers are solid and they have other breweries too. Plus cider. The seating options are plentiful (long bar, small and large tables). They can accommodate large groups. The decor is cool inside too. Will absolutely keep coming here when I find myself up north. read more

I'm so glad we randomly stopped at Paddle Hard Brewing on our way to the UP. Located on a cute main street in Grayling, we were seated right away at the bar although the place was pretty busy. Nate ordered a beer and I got the peach raspberry mule, which was delicious - fruity and sweet, but with a bit of a kick from the ginger beer. We decided to split the feta and spinach pizza, but everything on the menu sounded delicious. They also have tacos, paninis, starters, salads, mac and cheese, and a kids menu. The bartenders helping us were super friendly and polite. Our pizza came out super quickly and it was so good. It had a ton of feta, and the veggies were fresh. I loved this pizza and would definitely come back for more in the future. I didn't love the ranch (I think it was just Hidden Valley), but it's still an easy 5 stars for me! read more

We were in Grayling for 3 days and stopped at Paddle Hard twice - that's how good the food, beer, and service was. The beers were clean and fresh and there was a really nice selection. The food selection was just as good, with plenty of vegetarian options. If I were to get one thing again, it would be the plain mac & cheese. The portion is enough to share and comes with garlic sticks that are so good. We also tried two pizzas and both were better than most pizza shops I've tried in the area. The service is wonderful. Every single person was friendly. We liked this place so much we bought a tin tacker to hang on our brewery wall in California. read more

We made our annual trip to Paddle Hard, and as always, they were very accommodating for a big group! We actually walked down to their taproom(/yard) while we waited, which was a really fun outdoor area which an upper floor patio! Once we were seated, our server handled a big group like a pro. We loved the beer selection (I had a s'mores bean flicker and wow! Delicious!) We ordered the spinach and feta pizza, and it was great. Others ordered the barbecue chicken pizza, and some pretzels. Paddle Hard Brewing never disappoints. The beer is solid, the atmosphere is awesome, and the prices are super reasonable. The kids' meals are a steal with huge portions for a great price. Service was great, friendly, and efficient. If you go, do yourself a favor and save room for the Smoreo dessert pizza. It is hands down the best ever. I love this place! The deco and ambience are wonderful both inside and on the front sidewalk seating. The beef tacos are my favored dish and are most unique. The beer selection is wide ranging. The service is superb! The owners also open the Paddle Hard Yard a block away seasonally with great live music. I have a pizza place near my house that has mashed potato pizza and it is tasteless and nothing compared to paddle hard's delicious, flavorful, mashed potato creation. I am so happy I tried it. We stop here on our way to Bellaire for our ski trip every year. It's a nice local spot for lunch and to grab a beer. Our server was friendly and quick to get our appetizers because we were all starving. The brewery has some fun decor in there which gives it a cool atmosphere. I will say it was good, but could use more potato and less bacon; could hardly taste the potato in most bites. We were checking out reviews in Grayling and Paddle Hard not only the name caught my eye but the reviews were fantastic. The restaurant was hopping busy with super fun and very upbeat decor. I think we got the only available table left at lunchtime. Our fun waiter promptly arrived and and realized our dilemma in choosing a pub brew, offered us a few samples. However, it was iced tea for my sister and myself. The menu was so fun! We both ordered a wedge salad and it was delicious and came with a basket of bread sticks. My sister had a Thai pizza which she made yummy noises over. I ordered two tacos which were super stuffed and fantastic. Only problem for myself is I just don't prefer the density of pulled meat but it was exactly prepared as it should be. I can't wait to return for a pizza because they sure looked fantastic and my sister wouldn't share one bite. She took all of hers home. Fantastic restaurant. read more

First off our server BRADY was an awesome and fun guy. Made us feel welcome and was well knowledgeable about the menu and most of the flavors. Kept us interested with small talks and great jokes. Alligator Bites- great flavor and wonderfully cooked. Not dry and the tartar sauce was lovely. The wings- cooked perfectly, well seasoned and not just salted. Greek loaded waffles fries- fries taste great hot and after it got cold. New York strip- cooked medium as requested. Flavorful and juicy. The vegetables were actually seasoned and not just steamed. Mac and cheese tasted ok. Lobster ravioli- lobster was well cooked and the sauce was made from scratch which had a flavor that's different but great. Veggies was well cooked and broccoli was cooked perfectly. The ravioli was stuffed and great. The garlic bread was tasty but more butter than garlic. And it also came with 6 shrimps. Tomahawk steak- cooked to perfectly to temperature ordered. The seasoning for all 3 tasted differently. The mash was great, well seasoned lately spicy and it was hand mashed and not boxed potatoes which is a plus. Ribeye- temp was perfect on the cook. This was one of the nicest places we ate in Grayling. Perfect for a group of cyclers or kayakers after a long day on the trail. Located right downtown, they have a great selection of homemade and in-state brews as well as tacos, pizza and apps. The menu was very simple, but we had plenty to eat and the tacos were first rate. The atmosphere is upbeat and casual, come as you are and expect to wait for a table at peak times. Bar has plenty of seating and there are lots of TVs and staff to keep you entertained. The mashed potato pizza is the best pizza I've had in a long time - it was unique and the flavors worked really well. The inside was busy so we sat at the window seats. From 2023 to the Spring of 25 I've been coming up here from Central Michigan and it was a good experience and they have good beer. Something changed in 2025. The last two times I've been here the service has been horrible. Not only do they ignore you, but it seems as though unless you are a local, or have a certain look you get served your beer in a plastic cup vs a real beer glass. I'll be crossing this place off my list as breweries to visit while I'm out riding. read more

We have eaten here many times over years and the food has been very good. We sent over $150 tonight and when served a vodka cranberry I let the server know that there was hardly any vodka in the drink confirmed by my bartender son I asked for the drink to be taken off the bill. The waitress left and returned saying her boss said she made the drink and it had vodka in it. Why not ask to fix the drink or even offer an option? Nope not a plan to satisfy a customer. Paddle Hard Brewery has great food with a lot of healthy and vegetarian options. The food is fresh and delicious every time. The decor is delightful- artsy and fun! There is even a "jukebox" to play your favorite songs. We love the intimate seating areas for a larger group. They make panini sandwiches or flatbread pizzas in the various fun combinations. Each month there is a special panini/flatbread. This month is a frito pie. We have liked everything we have tried so far. A favorite is the dill pickle chicken. I come here a lot when I come up to my condo on Higgins lake. I love to come to the restaurant a ton and it is so good the soft pretzel is delicious (I finished 3/4 of it in one sitting) the pizza is also super yummy I personally love the pepperonly the de pizza is great however it is very sweet (a little bit too much in my opinion) but now let's talk about the service the people and nice and the food usually come out pretty fast (it can take awhile with a big party) and the ambiance is great too! this is one of the best restaurants that I have been to! read more

We love stopping here on our way home. The pizza is very tasty and fresh out of the oven The service is always good and the food comes out quickly. The only recommendation for the salad would be to lower the price for the chicken spinach deta salad and drop the "grilled chicken". The chicken is served cold and looks like it's put of a bag. Wish I'd taken pics of our food because the Tro-Pork-Al pizza I got was phenomenal. Tacos were great, too, but the pizza was unique and our big hitter. Our whole experience here was great. They were super busy with a 15-20 minute wait, but just as I registered us for a first available table, the host offered me seats at the bar... woohoo! My friend is military and was super short on time that day... Paddle Hard accommodated us in every way possible and for that, a huge THANK YOU. They seated us immediately and the bar staff was on top of it! My friend hadn't arrived yet, but they let me get his order in right away so it was coming just out as he sat down. They paid attention to specifications on our order (no onions, salsa on the side, add sour cream) and didn't miss a beat. I was immediately greeted by a friendly young man who directed me to the bar and then immediately proceeded to offer me a beverage as he was the bartender. He offered me a menu and gave me ole the of time to check the menu out and ask questions. I settled on the BBQ Chicken Panini which was prepared and delivered in remarkable time.
