Despite other reviews, I would not drive 2 hours for the mashed potato panini or the PHB beer (river rampage/ipa or blonde). However, the dill chicken pizza is worth ordering again if we ever happen to be in Grayling in the future. read more

We ate dinner tonight at Paddle Hard Brewing, up north in Grayling, Mi., and we were extremely happy with our meal!! I dare say it may be our new favorite place up north!! We started off with the cheesy bread and that was awesome! This appetizer was our favorite...We also had the pretzels with cheese, and that was also very nice! For our dinner we had the mac and cheese, and several of the pizzas, all were very good!! We will definitely be going back!! Service was very good, our dinner party was treated well, and everything went smoothly!! read more

I loved Paddle Hard! The only downfall was that it was super busy due to memorial weekend. We ended up shopping around town and finally got a table. The decor and overall layout is super cool. We ended up ordering a few beers and breadsticks before heading to our next location. The food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. This is most certainty a brewery destination spot and is family friendly. We grabbed some stickers and our tags before hopping to the next one. read more

This place was a surprise to find in Grayling! The interior is super cozy and inviting and loved all the wood work and places to sit. Decor was cute as ever too with the mugs on the wall and fun random finds in the wood like on the bar top and walls. Good selection of beer too obviously though I didn't get to try any but they display the options and locations on the tv up at the bar. Staff was super friendly as well. The menu itself has a nice size variety of options. Kind of pleasantly shocked considering we thought it was more just bar food and beer. One of the best things about this place is the prices for what you get. We had lunch for 2 and it was right around $20 with drinks. Can't complain there! We both went the panini route. I had the meatball which ok, it was good but honestly the meatballs just fell out with every bite. But flavor was spot on so just took a little food construction changes on my end to make it work. Ended up just going fork route on that one! My friend had the blue collar which came with Pepperoni, cappicola, salami, baby spinach, fresh ricotta, and basil pesto which the pesto mixed in with the juices from the meats was delicious. I look forward to coming back here and actually trying some of the beer. It's a great inviting place in the middle of a kind of old school town. Loved it. read more

So on our return from up north we decided to check out grayling, even though it was Sunday, and what a surprise - it was open! Downtown, I mean. Now, downtown grayling isn't a big place, barely two blocks, but I was pleasantly surprised to find open shops and restaurants. So of course we had to try Paddle Hard Brewing. First, I love the interior decor. It's light, airy plenty of things to look at and a variety of tables and chairs. But of course we sat at the bar. I enjoyed the Iron Paddle Ale from them, it was a good IPA...if I had one complaint I wished they frosted their glasses but it was cool enough and flavorful. I also liked the black cherry cider my girlfriend ordered, I thought it was tasty. I wasn't very hungry but my girlfriend wanted food so we ordered the bruschetta. They have a different kind of take on it - it came in a bowl with grilled flatbread 'chips' to dip. I ended up eating a bunch of it, and honestly I could have munched on the flatbread alone. It was delicious and I would love to try what else is on the menu. Our bartender did a fine job and was friendly. Overall a pretty cool place. read more

Stopped by here on our way up north and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was! I got tacos while my group ordered the paninis and we shared a hummus dish. Wish I took a photo beforehand but we were all getting hangry from the long drive... but we basically devoured everything within minutes of receiving our food. Delicious and big portions! Our server was also attentive and made sure to check in on us. Will definitely come back if I'm around the area. They also have some cool decors around the restaurant. Very impressed by the appearance and food here! read more

This place has a very nice inside, a little rustic decor which goes well with their outdoorsy feel. The beer and the cider were both top notch. The service was solid . The food was mostly paninis and pizza . However, the type of toppings was a change of pace and welcomed. Very good . I would 10/10 recommend to visit if in the area . read more

We came to this brewery based on the fact we could bring our dog to the outside patio. We were very pleasantly surprised with the food. They also have food you can purchase for your pampered pooch. The only negative was someone was smoking on the patio at the end of our meal and that was unpleasant. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and plan on returning. read more

Please read entire review to get the full picture: I'd give it 5 stars but for at least a year (maybe two) their kitchen exhaust has either failed or is not large enough for their operation. If you spend more than 10 minutes there you'll likely see the cloudy haze accompanied by an annoying burning sensation in the eyes. I have been here 20+ times and would happily spend money there still but I'd get the food to go (thus not spending additional $ on drinks while I wait). The food is amazing - great beer selection - completely adequate liquor selection. Hoping they'll remedy the smoke situation so I can return. read more

Oh boy! Took a little ride from Lewiston to the Paddle Hard Brewery in Grayling, worth the trip. We came back for the bruschetta and Lobster Mac N Cheese, tried the Board of Sausage along with it, plenty for two with snacks for later. Had both IPA's, prefer the regular vs American. The beer is always tasty and the food is very flavorful. A great stop when you are in the area. read more

Rainy day on our beach day at Higgins Lake State Campground so we travelled 20 minutes north to check out the brewery. Decent selection of brews, lots from Michigan. The pizza was amazing. Mashed potato pizza? Thai chicken with peanut sauce? Wow! Big city taste for small northern Michigan. I wish the pizza was this good in Lansing. read more

Really a neat spot in downtown Grayling. I've visited about four times now and they have never disappointed. Frequent changes to the menu are inviting for this who enjoy trying new things. I would recommend the BBQ chicken panini! Outdoor seating is available with picnic style tables and umbrellas for some shade on the sunny days. Great selection of beers as well both brewed by paddle hard and other local breweries. Would highly recommend paddle hard while staying in grayling or just driving through on your way up north! read more

We love paddle hard!!! We always come on our way up north. Tonight in particular I have to shout out our amazing service. We had our dog with us on the trip, so could only sit outdoors. Love that they have a dog friendly patio!. It was a busy Friday night of a holiday weekend, so the wait was understandably about 40 minutes. However, we were able to order a beer from the patio server and got food to go. I can't remember the last time we had this amazing and quick service. Wish I took pictures of the food because that was also incredible. We got the pretzel appetizer with both the beer cheese and garlic butter (get both, I promise) and the bbq pulled pork Mac and cheese! Soooo tasty. We will be back!! read more

We decided to stop in here on the way to Traverse city to grab some food and a tagabrew. It has been challenging on these day trips to find places that are open for lunch. We went to two other places and neither was open. Well it was meant to be! I loved it here. This was not his first time but it was mine. The atmosphere is fantastic! Loved the way it's decorated. Tons of fun things to see in every corner and wall. It was monsoon weather outside so we stuck around for a while. I was absolutely starving. Their menu is interesting. They specialize in pizza and calzones. Nor just typical pizza though. They get very creative! I chose the chicken pickle pizza and he got an Asian Fusion Calzone. We were chatting with a big group who had ordered this amazing dessert so we chose to try that as well. It was a cookie and cream s'mores with peanut butter pizza. Yes. You heard that right! Omg. It was so good and we took it back to the condo we were staying at and snacked on it all week. The beers were great. Food amazing. The service was a bit on the slow side. Our food menu boasts a large selection of artisan flatbread pizzas ranging from classic recipes to novelty flavors. They make their candied bacon in-house, and I don't think any pizza will ever come close to what this simple ingredient added to the flavor of it. Lastly, our server - Randall N. - was so kind, fun, honest, and engaging! He truly topped this experience off for us.
