Tasty food and kind owners in a great environment. I would recommend getting food with your morning coffee here

It gets pretty crowded here during the day and most seats are outdoors, making it super tight and close to to other customers. Food isn't bad but there are better restaurants in the area that I'd go to. The drinks are good, I really like their lattes and good choices of alcohol.

This place is SUCH an amazing spot for breakfast/brunch. Eat outside if you can, this is a perfect spot for people watching. The espresso is strong and tasty. I tried the avocado toast and it was excellent. Well seasoned and a good portion. My boyfriend's omelette was perfectly cooked. You order at the counter and then bring a number to your table where they will then bring your food. We had no trouble finding a seat when we arrived but by the time we were finishing up, both inside and outside seemed filled to capacity. I highly recommend the cappuccino and trying this place out for breakfast!

De Wasserette is a really cool spot in the Pijp located next to the Albert Kuyp market. This place is very crowded during the weekends and when the sun is out the cute terrace is even filled during weekdays. This part of the Pijp is really a very gezellig part. I love this place because it is always busy and there is always this weekend feeling with all the people drinking and eating. The interior at De Wasserette is really cool. Wood and industrial details, little flowers on the tables. What I love about this place is that they open very early (7.30!) and that you can have your foodies and coffee to go. They have some really nice breakfast foods like granola and french toasts, and there are all kinds of sandwiches and egg dishes (like eggs benedict, eggs florentine) which you can order all day. Their coffee is seriously good! I am really glad to have this great spot in my neighbourhood. It is great for a summer brunch on their lovely terrace or actually brunch/coffee/lunch any time of the year really.

This place already has pretty good reviews, but I thought it deserved another one. I simply love this place! First of all, it has a very cosy atmosphere which makes you feel welcome as you walk through the door; I really like the interior design, modern but warm, with wooden floor and tables. A big table in the back is great for studying/working. More importantly: great food! Their tartines (open-faced sandwiches) are pretty awesome and they have a nice range of choices. I personally love the chicken-avocado-pancetta-parmegiano one - but that's for serious hungers! - and the salmon-avocado one. For breakfast or brunch, their eggs are also very good, and I like that they offer a granola bowl. Their croissants are really good too (and that's coming from someone who knows about real french croissants!), and their brownies are yummy! On top of all of that: best coffee I've had in Amsterdam so far!! and you can take away :) The only downside is that it is often pretty crowded, so it can be difficult to find a spot, especially for lunch on weekdays. Wait, another down side is that they don't have wifi. You're told that you can get the open wifi from another place, but it's just not good; too far away from the AP, you loose the signal pretty often... I guess you don't mind for lunch or brunch, so that's not too bad (not enough to come down one star), but definitely something to improve (I really like working from a nice café with great coffee, but I need wifi!)

I love this place. Great food and great coffee, which makes for a great breakfast, brunch and lunch spot. The only problem is that on the weekends it is super packed. Especially with the sunnier months coming up, be prepared. If you wait for a bit, however, you can get lucky and grab a spot. The wait is worth it, especially if you grab the good table. I will be egoistic and not say which one it is, so you need to go and check it out for yourself :P Also, the food is great. I am a sucker for eggs Benedict, or any eggs for that matter. I have so far always enjoyed the Eggs Norwegian (or Royale. With salmon anyways), and with one time exception I have also always enjoyed the Eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise is great and the eggs are poached right. I would also recommend the homemade iced tea. It is lemony with some mint leaves and not too sweet, so it is very refreshing. I hope they do not start putting more sugar in it. Either way: Take the XL if you are thirsty.

I love this place !!! just for a coffee or lunch is a great place! Their sandwiches are Amaizing (especially one with avocado, mushroom and truffle mayonnaise). For information you order at the bar. and said great place says a lot of people. but its worth to wait a little .

This one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch in the Pijp. Maybe it's because I had my first breakfast here when I was falling in love with the city. I'd attribute it to that and to the solid sandwiches and the most delicious croissants they have! Went here today for lunch wth parents and we got two sandwiches and a bowl of freeman pea soup. It was a bit watery but mom loved it. I only could finish half of the chicken avocado sandwich, dad had prosciutto sandwich. For under €30 lunch for 3 people with leftovers is a nice deal, and most importantly food tastes amazing. Service is quick and friendly.

Came here on a rainy day. Very busy inside and out. Ordered the salmon tartare on toast. Pretty good. Friendly and helpful staff members. Cozy place

Hard to find a good place to have breakfast in De Pijp but this is a great one. Eggs different styles, granola with fresh fruits & excellent coffee. A perfect way to start a lazy Sunday morning.

Ah the Wasserette is something super hot, I am not just talking about the breakfasts and lunch. This is the spot to be seen in if you are hot, sexy and a proud local. ******Pay attention to the crowd, it reminds me of home Corona Del Mar In (OC) California. *****So don't go there looking like you just left your bed. The menu is so simple, and... You can't ever be wrong with your choice, I always have the grilled avocado salad without any croutons (gluten free wanna be! hahaha) The food is made while you wait, so have a glass of ice tea, it is homemade and let me say.... YUUUUUUM The plates are simple, to the point and keeps you coming back for more. ********Seriously, If you are going to complain about the simplicity of the food, don't go! if you want like a McDonalds munch menu, turn right, you will find one not too far. The Staff: (eye candy) I think they do it on purpose, there are hot and semi-hot guys behind the counter. The kitchen is part of the excitement, you can see the chef/cook working it! They are cool, calm and collective, the way the staff rotates is perfect, they synchronize their moves just because the place is small and very busy. (Good job!) *******The best part is: drum rolls...... (The staff will actually take a couple of minutes to chat with you, TADDDDDDA) ***************OK.... I have a thing with toilets, (germofob wanna be) I always need to inspect it to see how clean it is, a clean toilette says many things about the place (don't deny it, you know it's true!, hahahaha) *******Now my tonsils are removed, (YAHOOOOOOO) i can now sit outside with the nasty smokers to enjoy the terrace. The terrace is always busy like any terraces in Amsterdam, but you can always ask a table if you can share. (Hard not to ears drop and get into the conversation hahahahah) Would i recommend De Wassarette? Actually, NO. Just because i won't have a spot to sit and I really don't want a flood of tourist to be there, they really wouldn't know how to appreciate this. (Yes, i am selfish, deal with it) And YES, just don't hug the place The downside, they don't serve wine.

So good I stopped by twice on a 3 day trip to the city…read more I stopped by on my first visit craving a big, hearty sandwich for a late lunch and thought this might be a good find. Happy to report I was very right. I grabbed one of the many outside seats, took a look at the menu that was entirely in Dutch and waited for the wonderful waitress to quickly translate nearly every item for me. I landed on the chicken club and it hit the spot. I arrived hungry but could still only manage to finish half. Chicken was grilled perfectly into thin slices, soft boiled egg was a new touch that I loved, avocado, lettuce and probably a few other things I am forgetting. Oh, and a handful of crisps on the side. On my next visit, it was my last night in Amsterdam and I still haven't tried the infamous fries. I stopped in around 9:30 for a late night snack and a hot ginger tea. The fries were the perfect fries! Thin, crispy, salty. I loved. I also can get behind the mayo thing they do here, even though I really am a ketchup loyalist. Anyway, lunch or dinner or late night snack, this is a good spot. You'll like the foot and you'll love sitting outside people watching, reading your book, whatever.
