    Fresh squeezed orange juice
    Rahul B.

3.75 Stars. Popped in here on a random weekday on a walk to Vondelpark after having read some great reviews, and had a glass of orange juice and eggs benedict. I thought both were very good, yet, a bit overpriced. This was offset by having a nice outdoor seat on a gorgeous day, so I left feeling like I had a solid experience that made the price of the food itself worth it. The service was kind and quite fast, and it stood out to me because I was totally expecting it to be typical Dutch bluntness, since it seemed like a local joint, but it wasn't. I never came back because there's just too many great options for a similar kind of meal all over the city, so I didn't think to myself, "I have to go to Valerius and I'm gonna get on a tram just to make that happen". That's not to say it wasn't good, because it was. It's just no Dignita.

Great place for breakfast/brunch if you ever visit Amsterdam! Service was friendly (as is Amsterdam in general), and the food was clean, simple, yummy! They have indoor and outdoor seating with cute décor inside if you choose to stay indoors. For the food and drinks, my friend and I got orange juice to be healthy & then we tried the eggs benedict & eggs florentine. Both were pretty good! Price was decent and didn't cause a dent at all in our 3-week-semi-backpacking Europe trip :)

BLTC - I was so hungry I ate some before the photo.

BLTC was great! Last letter 'C' stands for chicken. Should have been BLTCC since it came with cucumbers also. We stopped in here after the Van Gogh museum. It's located in a quiet neighborhood. At about 1:30 on a weekday the service was quick and hospitable. The gentleman explained that the corn bread that was a choice for the sandwich was not like the sweet corn bread in United States. It's a very fine textured bread great for a sandwich. Serving size was generous and the chicken was cooked in a mild teriyaki-like sauce.

Great place for breakfast in an extremely nice neighborhood. The host was super friendly and helpful in navigating the menu in Dutch only. We ordered the Benedict and fried eggs with bacon, ham and cheese on a toast. Very tasty. And yeah- latte was great too! Highly recommend, especially if you don't like touristy places.

We went on a weekend when they exclusively serve their famous apple pie, and while the lines can get pretty long, ours actually moved very quickly. The setup is a bit of a hustle: you order at the counter, pay, and then have to hunt for a table (they have seating indoors and outdoors) while balancing your food. Finding an open spot can definitely be a challenge, but we got incredibly lucky and snagged a seat at a communal table right as our plates were handed to us. Logistics aside, the pie is entirely worth it. It's honestly one of the best I've ever had. The crust is beautifully buttery and crumbly, and the warm apples have the absolute perfect texture--a brilliant balance of sweet and tart. It's not overly sweet on its own, but with a generous mountain of whipped cream and a hot coffee, it made for a wonderfully rich afternoon snack. I know a lot of people rave about their chocolate milk too, but the coffee pairing was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend braving the line for this!

Saturday, 1pm-ish, yearning for coffee…read more I have to pick up something, but i am stalling. Not sure if I really need coffee, i guess i need an excuse. Coffee is always a good excuse. So here I am, wanting to sit on their big terrace which is unfortunately a bit drizzled on by rain, I will sit inside, window side. I like the place. Looking from the outside in, the place doesn't draw you in though. Once sitting inside it looks nice, styled and clean. Except from the cobweb on the window-sill. Makes me suddenly wonder what bugs are hiding in the fur, stylishly draped over some of the chairs. I'm squeamish for bugs. Luckily easy distracted, so i'm leaning back against it while ordering my cuppa joe. I'm ordering my espresso macchiato, which taste is good but not as scalding hot as i like it to be. And as that was gone in a split second, I'm having a soup, to warm me up (and/or prolong the stalling) It's a chunky tomato soup with bell pepper. I am not a big fan of soup, but a great executed soup i can truly appreciate. So I do. The young staff is friendly but the boy seems nervous. On his "did you enjoy your soup" I have to suppress the need to yell "NO". Not because i dislike him, he seems sweet, but just to see his reaction. I am weird that way. The place oozes tranquility, a perfect place to relax and have a cuppa joe. Too quiet for a Saturday afternoon me thinks. Curious to find out how the atmosphere is during dinner time. Until then! :)

This one was well thought keeping in mind the parents in need of a normal coffee break sometimes. Coffees are nice by the way; real espresso (no machine made or instant). Lunch is very nice: pancakes and tosti's for children, nice breads, soups and salads. The bread with melded goat cheese has two big slices on it and was delicious: yummm.
