lemon herb scone and cranberry scone

Woke up on vacation craving scones and I found this place online. I am so happy to have come here. It was so calming and cute to enjoy some coffee and appease my sweet tooth. The employees were so courteous and welcoming. The place itself is so cutely decorated with pink walls and eclectic decor. Truly amazing!

Best scones and jams - must try!

Came here based on the Yelp reviews, and I can't figure out why this place doesn't have a full 5 star rating. It's a bit hard to find because there's no sign hanging outside and everything around it has big signs. There were both Dutch patrons and tourists which tells me it's probably more authentic. We did the "build your own sandwich" with one protein, one spread and 3 toppings. The bread was super fresh, the flavors are unique and satisfying. We also had fresh squeezed orange juice and had to try a scone based on what people said here. The scone and jams stole the show. Don't pass it up!!

    Cheese cakes & chocolate latte

Incredibly good, creamy cheese cake (with cinnamon & berries) and super tasty chocolate latte (with different chocolate pieces). If that's not enough, the cafe looks super charming, just like the employees are. Will definitely come back again!

One of my favorite breakfast joints in Europe. I would die to have one of these in my home town. I love everything about Bakkerswinkel... When you walk in on a cold morning, the smell of freshly baked pastries and comfort food drifts through your head. You feel as though you've been invited into a friend's house for breakfast. The space is warm, homey and bright. We usually get there early, so they let you choose where you want to sit. They have tables and banquets, as well as community style bench seating. For those of us who don't speak or read Dutch, flip the menu over to the English side to peruse their breakfast/lunch faire. My favorites: Quiche with Leek & Goat Cheese served with an ample side salad; or for something sweet, Scone, Bread, Butter & Jam...the Dutch breakfast is fun...you also get gingerbread, chocolate sprinkles and cheese! My husband loves the toast with fried eggs and cheese...I like them too. But I like the quiche more. Breakfast is served with coffee/tea and fresh orange juice. ....now let me tell you something about their jam. It's home made. They give you a selection of jams to choose from and they are out of this world. My personal favorite is the Passionfruit. I loved it so much I bought a jar to take home and we ended up eating it all before we departed the city. Their lunches are equally unique, comforting and consistently outstanding. Everything is made there. The service is always friendly....of course it is. They're Dutch.

Tasty scones and amazing house made jams! The yogurt was super creamy. The desserts also looked delightful, but it was 8 am so we decided not to indulge.

Baker's Breakfast for 3 people with a croissant, sourdough bread, white bread, a fruity bread & an italian one. More than enough

Perfect spot to brunch in the center of Amsterdam! The place is really cool and quite big. We made a reservation for four persons at 10.30 on a saturday morning. At this time the spot wasn't that crowded already, but towards 11 am the café got filled really fast. So make sure to be there on time or to call them quickly or to make a reservation. We had the Baker's Breakfast with a croissant, some sourdough bread, white bread, a fruity bread and an italian one. It was more than enough. This breakfast is served with ham, cheese and three different jams. Each breakfast is served with a coffee/tea or an orange juice/fruitshake. The ham is really fresh and tasty! The cheese is great as well and OHMYGOD THE JAMS!!!! I loved them! Especially the one with basil in it! Soooooooo yummy! You should buy a glass of it! The service was perfect! Friendly and attentive. We asked for a cooler for the cava - they didn't have one, so our waiter told us to wait a moment and then came back with a bowl with icecoldwater in it, perfect! The café is situated just in the centre, in a street running parallel the main shopping street. It's quite fancy and has a smaller level downstairs, some places at the ground floor and some more upstairs in the gallery, from where you can see downstairs.

    Super miejsce na śniadanie!

I was thinking of picking up a few breakfast treats and came across this bakery on my way back to…read moremy hotel. The pastries caught my eye in the glass case. There were cannolis, cream puffs, cookies, donuts, cakes, macarons and there were also sandwiches and pizza type breads. We bought a cream puff with Bavian cream, a chocolate covered cream puff with the standard cream filing and a chocolate covered croissant. Everyone was happy with their purchases and I was especially happy with my cream puff with the Bavian cream. The surrounding cake was light and airy and the cream was delicious; not quite whipped cream (like American version) but like a combination of whipped cream and vanilla custard. The filling was very light and the entire pastry did not leave any heavy feeling at all. The 2 chocolate pastries were consumed without complaints. The chocolate croissant I noticed, was completely dipped in chocolate rather than a croissant that has chocolate inside. This bakery lives up to its c'est magnifique name!

My favorite place in Amsterdam missing from Yelp? I had to add you Croissanterie C'est Magnifique…read more And you are simply that: MAGNIFICENT. You have set the bar for every patisserie and croissanterie I visit from now on. MY GOODNESS. I don't even know where to start. I visited you more times than I care to admit. And each time, your fruit tartes, custard croissants, crumble cakes, and cappuccinos made me dread the day I was to leave Amsterdam. For I knew no other place would ever compare. This small, unassuming place is located smack in the middle of the bustling Leidsestraat shopping district. The glass counter houses a plethora of sweet goodness (see my pics). The same girl was there each day making coffee and running back and forth from the kitchen in the back. Pastries are made fresh multiple times a day so everything is always fresh. Once you grab your order, there is a long table with stools that runs along the right wall. The smell of ground coffee beans and fresh baked bread filled the air, and spilled onto the street making it impossible to pass by without stopping in. They are open until at least 10pm but I'm not sure of their exact hours. And they open early too. Sweet, sweet danger. I am saddened that you are so far away from me. *insert sad face here*

This neighborhood is packed with bars, clubs, restaurants, and coffeeshops and young people who party late into the night. The waffle, however, was the best thing I've eaten in Amsterdam all week. Had to go with the chocolate covered version, and it did not disappoint. The waffle was fresh, covered in powered sugar first and then amazing, rich chocolate that melted in your mouth/ hands and the combination was just divine.
