Was looking for food as it so happens that the pride celebration/parade was taking place during the weekend of our visit... we went to three different places prior and were turned away because they all closed earlier than their usual hours. Was so hungry so we walked by this spot and settled. Our server did not take any notes and we were skeptical that she got our order correctly because she walked away with confidence as we ordered about 8 things. Once we saw that the dishes are small and tapas styled we decided to add more to our order. The added item came out before the rest of our order. With this in mind, we inquired with the waitress that the prior items are still coming- she smiled and said "yes they're still on the way." Sitting there famished and noticing food orders from the kitchen were being served to tables after us, we politely asked her again and she said the same... "yes it's still on it's way." We then noticed her running to the register to put in the order... mistakes happen and we would have understood. But she could have just been honest about it for us to be prepared for the longer wait or for us to gauge on what we wanted to do. Yes, we were hungry and tired, but she simply could have been honest rather than pretending nothing happened on her part.

Went there alone since my wife is out of town and they took great care of me. They were incredibly busy but allowed me to sit at the bar until a table came available. The bartenders and waitstaff were quite friendly and attentive, despite the packed house. The drink menu was impressive as well if you're into Japanese beer and whiskey. 5 varieties of Hitachino Nest beer, Nikka, Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Hakushu whiskeys to pick from. The food is reasonable, mostly Japanese and creative. They were out of a few things that night, but that gives me more reasons to come back and finish trying the whole menu. I'm sure this place will be seeing a lot more of me.

So if you are in for a good night out with great ambiance ( communal dining) and great drinks and very delicious easy going food. The chicken katsu, veal gyoza, salmon tataki, are a amazing start to any night out casual or celebrating. To Finish of your night you can go for the yuzu cheesecake or for one of my all time favorites the apple pie gyoza ( flambéd with dark goslings rum) Super Lekker for your end of the night sweet tooth. If you are not a dessert person you could go for the Gingerbread man from Japan cocktail (great smooth and sweet nightcap) and if all of this doesn't satisfy your taste buds, the yuzu coronel which is half of yuzu sake yuzu ice cream and some knettersuiker to top it off.

Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
