    Dragon Roll

Wooooow!! What a great vegan restaurant. Japanese x Jamaican fusion which works really well together. From the decor to the music to the food itself, both cultures come together for a mega bomb of flavor and killer vibes. Do yourself a favor and order their home made ramen because what a hearty broth it is along with some spice! Packed full of vegetables and faux chicken, it's more than filling. Noodles were on 10! Additionally their dragon roll is huge! These weren't your average size rolls but required you to break them up into 2 bites haha. Such a great spot hidden in one of the many hidden alleys within Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

Crunchy dragon roll. The pieces were huge.

This was our first meal while vacationing in Amsterdam. We were so excited to find a vegan restaurant with great reviews. It didn't disappoint. The day we visited was during a heat wave, and this place was HOT. When we walked in, I almost walked back outside because it was so unbearable. Glad I decided against that because the food was awesome. (Also, I can only imagine how much hotter it was for the cooks in the kitchen.) We had the crunchy dragon roll and a "fish" and chips dish. The fried onions and tempeh in the dragon roll were delicious, and the roll was filling yet somehow still light. Perfect to not weigh you down in hot weather. The "fish" was good, but the chips were the star - they were some of the best I've ever had. Both portions were large and a good value. The service was pretty subpar, though I'm definitely comparing it to American service where waitstaff are trying to earn bigger tips. The waiter didn't bring us any drinks despite us ordering two waters and a soda, and when we reminded him, he seemed annoyed and only brought the waters (though still tried to charge us for the juice at the end). I wouldn't have minded as much except it was so ungodly hot in the restaurant that I would think a waiter would want to make sure their patrons had some source of hydration. But, he was probably truly annoyed by the heat and not us, which I totally understand. Overall, a great place. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Amsterdam.

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Amsterdam and found this Vegan restaurant close to where we were at that time. It was a little difficult to locate the restaurant but once we got there, it was all packed. It's a small restaurant and there were only two people working (one was the chef and another one taking food orders). They both looked super busy which was understandable since all the tables were taken at the restaurant. It took a little time for our food to arrive but once it was there, both me and my husband were happy. It's a Jamaican and Japanese fusion cuisine and everything we ordered was tasty and their portions were pretty descent. I highly recommend trying there dragon rolls. You won't regret it!

Amazing food! I had the vegan fried rice it was super tasty and delicious. My fiancé had the Jamaican plate and Homemade Ramen soup he finished it all. They give you really big portions! They also have Kombucha! Definitely one of the best vegan restaurant and we tried a lot.

Was looking for a cool little vegan spot in Amsterdam and came across this little gem. Not many tourists around, (we went on a Sunday afternoon), got greeted by the owner who is a very happy Caribbean man who truly wants to show you the gift of food. "I am vegan, everything here is vegan" is what he tells us and we're even more excited about the food on its way. My friends who are strictly vegan were obsessing over their dishes (sorry I forgot what they were, but pics are attached!), and I ate the veggie fried rice along with spring rolls! The veggie fried rice had SO much flavor-- truly one of the best I've had that I'm still thinking about it lol. Portions were just enough and prices are definitely reasonable for what you're getting. We ended up chatting with the owner after dinner and we met his wife and son too. It is a beautiful family business and I'm happy to support them. When I'm back in Amsterdam , this restaurant will be added back to my list of places to go eat. Thank you again for the great food and wholesome conversation!

This was the first restaurant I visited in Amsterdam due to its proximity to the typical attractions in the city. The space itself is small and interesting. It has a cozy feeling, I like it. The food - exceptional! I absolutely loved it. I could've eaten an entire plate of just the vegetables that were on my plate in the Vegan Plate meal. My traveling companion got the Jamaican Plate - he is not a vegan and he loved it. I tried some of his plate as well - such a wonderful coconut sauce, yum yum. Highly recommended stop when in Amsterdam! The service is nothing special so don't be dismayed by it when arriving.

Jamaican plate - so flavorful and delicious!

YES! Japanese / Caribbean fusion - wow. Food is tasty, servers are friendly, and they have good music bumping. Nice, warm, cozy vibe.

Hit or miss. Came here twice, first time was a Japanese lady chef, ordered vegan plate and Jamaican plate and both were delicious! Everything was just right, salad was colorful and scrumptious, stir fry was super flavorful. 2nd time here (Sunday) was a big disappointment. It was a male Jamaican looking chef, ordered saucy sausage. TOO salty, the dish looked liked it was just randomly thrown together, the salad was just grated carrots and a few pieces of celery. Another order of fried noodles, same thing. Salty thrown together random plate.... =_='' Eat if you see the Asian female chef, run if you see the male chef. Difference is too drastic, you've been warned...

Delicious, discover new flavors. Very healthy food, done with care. Very good presentation.

What. A. Cool. Place. We loved it here! My only complaint is that we reeked of the food forever after leaving, but whatever. So delicious. We only had the Japanese stuff--yakisoba and fried rice--so we'll have to come back for the Caribbean, which is fine by us! Best yakisoba ever by the way.

"sweet and sour" was not sweet nor sour.

It's a busy, "basic" spot on the Warmoesstraat that specializes in Surinamese-Chinese fusion (locally known as "Surinese"). I'm a fan of most Asian cuisines, but I specifically come here for the Surinamese side of the menu. I recently had the Stir-Fried Noodles with Mixed Meats (Moksie Meti). The meats were flavorful, and I particularly liked the sweetness of the Chinese sausage. The dish was a bit plain overall, but for the price and the portion size, it definitely does the job. Food: Good, reliable comfort food. It reminds me a bit of something you'd find in a casual Hong Kong eatery. Service: Very fast and efficient. Don't expect much "small talk" or frills--they are focused on getting the food out hot and keeping the tables moving. Vibe: Crowded and unpretentious. It's a great "bargain" spot for a quick bite before catching a train or heading out for the night. Pro Tip: If you like some heat, try a little of their house sambal (hot sauce) on the side, but be careful--it's got a real kick! Overall, it's a dependable 3 or 4-star spot. It won't be the best meal you ever have in Amsterdam, but it's consistent, cheap, and much better than the surrounding tourist traps.

The service was slow and the restaurant didn't look very clean. The menu items were inexpensive which my party were happy about, but when we made our selections it took so long for the food to come. I ordered a chicken meal with rice, and the chicken had bones in it that I almost choked on- it didn't say it ok the menu-guess I wasn't expecting it. The rice tasted okay but I was turned off from eating once my sister found a long black hair in her food. Once there's hair in food my stomach turns and I don't eat anymore. When my sister complained about the hair- the staff were staring at her like they didn't understand why she was upset- and were making it seem like she threw the hair in there. We also ordered some bread with our meal which never came and had to be sure it was taken off our check. Overall this experience was terrible and I wished we had gone to the steakhouse around the corner that I wanted to go to- but the people I was with wanted this place.
