We had such a wonderful experience here during lunch. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Small but very cozy! The best vegan salmon I've tried. The salmon bowl was just wonderful, full of flavor and the salmon texture is dead on (not that it needed to be ). Thank you!

Somehow we found the healthiest place to eat in Amsterdam after partaking in decidedly unhealthy decisions prior to dinner. Sometimes all you want is a giant bowl of leafy freshness. At least, I do. Golden Temple has amazing salads that would satisfy even the pickiest herbivores. Despite nearly forgetting how to eat and narrowly avoiding stabbing my eyeball with my own fork, we had a guacamole starter and giant salads for main course, accompanied by green juice and rooibos tea. Everything was crisp, fresh, and juicy. Despite a hazy start, a memorable evening and uplifting venue - with no morning after gluttonous guilt.

Fantastic vegetarian/ vegan restaurant. Fresh ingredients and well prepared dishes. Good portion size. Friendly service We had the Asian coconut curry, the rice wrap, and the tempeh cashew and vegetable salad. I'll probably update this review more later-- but, just know it is definitely recommended.

As much as I hate to say it, Golden Temple was probably one of the most disappointing dining excursions during our week in Europe. I had rather hyped up hopes after reading some of the glowing reviews on Yelp for Golden Temple, but I suppose we just happened to dine here during an extremely "off day?" Golden Temple seemed reasonably well-attended when we arrived, but thankfully had a few available seating areas for the two of us. We plopped down fairly close to the kitchen and negotiated our selections. There appeared to be two servers attending to everyone this evening, but one of them was munching away on some food in the open kitchen, the other was unsystematically checking on the tables. I actually had to flag one of them down to take our drink orders after waiting a decent while for one of them to come to us on her own accord. (And yes I understand service is slower in Europe, compared to the United States.) When it came time for us to place our food orders, the server did mention that they were out of the daily soup. Okay cool, we hadn't considered ordering it. Instead we opted for the Tempeh, Peanut, and Vegetable Salad and the We Love Mushroom Pizza. Minutes later, the server informed us the pizza dough was no longer usable (it was a couple of hours until closing), so we substituted the Flavours of India dish. Then a few more minutes pass, the server pops up again to let us know that they actually didn't have the salad or the Indian platter available because their main cook was out sick for the day (confused as to why this wasn't disclosed in advance???), thus we were strictly limited to the Iranian Quinoa Salad or two Mexican dishes in terms of vegan dishes. So, three vegan choices, out of typically very vegan-ful menu. Huge regret washed over us for selecting this restaurant out of the numerous vegetarian-friendly in Amsterdam! Given that we had already received our drinks and were quickly approaching very-hungry, we ultimately ended up with the Iranian Quinoa Salad and Traditional Mexican Dish. Both of which ended up being perfectly edible and freshly prepared, but nothing remarkable or noteworthy, although seemed healthier than our original choices. But to say we were bummed, is a huge understatement! Vegan Mexican and quinoa salads are quite plentiful where I'm from. Boo hoo! Our bill arrived with two free drinks with our next food purchases vouchers, I suppose as "we are sorry for the inconvenience" tokens. We passed them onto a nearby couple as we had no intentions of returning here during our 48 hour stay in Amsterdam. One last oddity was the disclaimer on the menu stating prices didn't include tip . . . I was under the impression that restaurant tipping wasn't expected in Amsterdam (per the internets). And if service was exceptional, a 10% tip was acceptable at best? At any rate, the husband left a generous tip anyway, simply didn't want to wait around for the leisure service to render change. Sigh, just sigh . . .

This place is cozy and very busy. Great choice for a tasty, flavor filled vegetarian meal. Wish I'd had room to think about a dessert. I'd go back but I only have a few nights in Amsterdam. Great, friendly and fast service. Large portions with beautiful presentation.

    Nutty goat pizza...

Alright yelpers. Full disclosure: I almost don't want to spread the word about this ahhhhhmazing Gods-gift-to-human vegetarian palace on qte but touristy Utrechtsestraat. I might just love the the feeling of keeping it to myself a little too much, like a yummsy little secret heaven to sneak away to and boost myself with enough energy to cope with this shitty world for another week or two. But no. I must share this. No veg*an out there within a 50 miles radius should wander around unknowingly about this place. All food is organic, or as they explain on the menu: '98% - not all spices we use are available organic. We are working on the last two percent.' Guess what, Golden Temple? I forgive you. All food on the menu is veg*an (vegetarian with many vegan options), and the main influence is oriental - Indian and southeast asian - and Mexican. The result of the two or three cooks prepping the food in the open kitchen in the back of the restaurant is a true explosion of flavours and sensation. It is authentic and heavenly. My first meal was the cheese-drenched enchilada with black beans, salsa and a fresh mango salad - not too life altering at the sound of it, but surprisingly well put together with interesting flavours that hooked arms and danced down my throat. For starters I can recommend the Vietnamese rice paper spring rolls, fresh and delicate just as they should be - served with a peanut saté for dipping. Brought me back to Vietnam in an instant where I have had my most life changing meals so far. Extremely good. The Pakora - deep fried veggies with a mint chutney dip, had us almost get into a fist fight over the last, crumbled piece. Do not miss. Feeling for something a little more western? (I forgive you, you might be making a wise choice here) - the Nutty goat pizza with pumpkin, rolled onion, goat cheese and walnuts was equally incredible. Extremely tasty, and the crust justified the slightly longer waiting time - you just cant get a crust like that at the local pizza joint. The environmemt is so friendly, so relaxed. The owner is chatty and has that outlandish Portland kinda hippie vibe that makes a part of you want to jump on his back and whisper 'take me with you'. A cute little pommeranian is hanging out and will maybe crawl up next to you and fall asleep if you pet her frequently. She will grunt, sometimes loudly, but I think it is of pleasure. Did I make my point clear? You need to visit this place and realize that it knows what is up in the world right now. But dont go to often. I still wanto be able to roll up at 6 on a friday and get a table. Deal?

Nice ambience, Buddhism themed wall art, Asian feel. Friendly staff. Vegetarian and vegan. Colorful & flavorful fusion cuisine including Indian, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, Italian, and Mexican inspired dishes.

Very nice vegetarian Indian food, with a few takes on Mexican as well. Our entire family enjoyed their meals and the ambiance.

I ordered the black charcoal ravioli, which was rich and unique, and also tried the beet ravioli. I loved their creative take on raviolis. They were colorful, fresh, and full of flavor. This delicious spot is off the beaten path of the more touristy spots in Amsterdam, located on a quiet side street. We absolutely loved our meal - with clear influences from french, asian flavors, and italian. We started with a delicious amuse bouche by the chef, followed by the "pate" and fresh bread. It was earthy and good; a solid start. Our main dishes were truly a treat! We split one of the gnocchi options - the tomato sauce was delectable; I truly could have licked the bowl - and the black mushroom ravioli - so much delicious umami flavor! We ended with the peanut butter brownie and, let me just say, I am UPSET that we decided to split one instead of ordering our own! The service was a delight - they were so kind, clearly wanting us to enjoy the experience!

Fast forward a few years and now I'm delighted to accompany them to vegan restaurants such as Meatless District in Amsterdam, NL. The food was exquisite as was the service. I'm now obsessed with watermelon sashimi. I prefer this vegan bitterballen to the traditional because I didn't like the texture of the meat inside. I feel the dutch really like pureed meat. The mushroom bitterballen was so delicious as was everything else. The braised artichoke was just ok. Nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it. It's just that everything else was so unique including the desserts. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant. I give my experience a 4 overall for the artichoke and I must mention the bathroom. This is more of a Dutch thing than anything else. Gender neutral bathrooms are cool. We Americans don't see that a lot. The problem is the individual stall was up a flight of stairs and so small that I couldn't even sit on the toilet and then there was nothing to pull myself up to get out the position I had gotten myself into. It was awkward. This stall needs a bar or something to help those of us who are not as able as we used to be. I'd go eat here again to try more of their dishes.
