Green protein salad bowl (vegan)
Matt B.

Great casual spot for vegan wraps and bowls. You can either order preset wraps/bowls or make your own. Generally, wraps are €10 and bowls are €13. I got the green protein salad bowl and my wife got the killer kapsalon wrap. We were both very happy with our meals. The portions were good, we got lots of veggies, and the ingredients were fresh and good quality. Solid spot.

A healthy choice and would be really good, but my chicken salad was NOT good. So bland and just...not good. That's all I can say. Even my friend tried it and said I should ask for more dressing, but I was already over it. The almond latte was okay, but had to add a lot of sugar to it.

Super healthy, convenient, delicious. You need to be conscious of the environment while dining in. Also, clean after yourself.

After traveling for a week and eating junk and drinking I needed something good for my soul. This place was heaven. The service was great and I am still craving their soup of the day all the way from America!!

SLA is my favorite thing about Amsterdam. I visit every time I'm in the city. Last time I was here in December, I had an amazing salad with parsnips, Parmesan, and sauerkraut. It was on their seasonal menu. I visited again this spring and wanted to recreate it, but they didn't have parsnips or leeks or sauerkraut. I was disappointed, but then I realized it is a GOOD thing they keep their ingredients so seasonal and fresh. That's why it's such great quality. I ended up building my own and it wasn't as great as their seasonal or signature salads. Always order one of their combinations. They're great!!

Gorgeous on the inside!

I've only just discovered they opened up this little shop not too far from work! And I lovelovelove this little place! It's fast, it's delicious and has a giant menu on offer for anyone looking for something healthy (AND tasty). Raw, vegan, gluten free- something for everyone really! So even in the midst of (what this Aussie) considers below freezing temperatures, we ventured out for a salad and given they have a new menu for this season, it was definitely worth it! Two salads were had- the Japanese style black angus beef and the North Sea smoked mackerel! If you're after something full of fantastic flavour, get the beef! It also comes in a vegetarian friendly version with vegetarian beef! If you're after something a little lighter with sweet (dreaming of) spring flavours, get the mackerel! (My photo is a little deceptive.. the egg I got extra for that extra protein hit :P). I think I'll be back again later this week to try the other newbie salads so stay tuned for a review update!

Amazing restaurant in the Rembrandt square near Starbucks. Tons of options to create your own salad or bowl as well as options for salad ideas, toast, and hummus! Ended up coming here 3x on my trip cause it was so worth it. Didn't skimp on ingredients and very friendly staff.

To go salad with quinoa burger, a little bit of humus and lots of veggies. Yummi

Excellent to go salad (see photocof salat with quinoa burger), plenty of everything and nice service at the place. They have a few seats outside too for eating in. Be adviced that they don't take cash.

this place is dope. an oasis of healthy eating in a generally carb-heavy setting. you can make your own bowl with options for greens, grains, plenty of veggies, and veggie protein options like tempeh or falafel.

Really nice place where you can build your own salad. Perfect on a hot day. Loved the marinated cucumbers and panko crusted tofu!

Service: The staff are super friendly and helpful. The salads are made to order and ready within minutes. Food: I've eaten many salads and soups and every single one was sooo tasty and healthy. The ingredients are fresh and the salads feature unique combinations. The portion sizes are ideal. Ambiance: They did an amazing job designing the inside. It's welcoming, warm and cozy with nice touches and comfortable seating. Price: The prices are affordable and worth every penny. Stop what you're doing and grab a healthy meal at Venkel!

It is a salad with of course lentils, but also goats cheese and nuts and it tastes delicious! I thought all the salads on the menu looked really good so I really want to come back soon. You can also create your own salad and choose all the ingredients. I also a had juice; apple/pear/mint. Delicious! Well it should be because its pretty damn expensive. 5 euros, and not even a big glass.. But well, it was good. There is also free water which is nice. The interior was beautiful and cozy. It really felt good and I felt very relaxed. I really like Venkel! I thought SLA was the best but now I like Venkel even more. The salads just taste amazing. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Just try it soon!

We were able to get seated right on the window area. We chose menu 5, which was just enough for two people. Everything was delicious! Their pea soup is out of this world. Don't know why as it is a simple dish but wow! I also love their herring. It was so delicious that I wanted seconds. It paired so well with their onions and mustard. And their bitterballen was just enough bite. Creamy and crispy! We also got a combination of the hutspot. They were all delicious! Although for me the meatball was just a tad bit salty but it is probably just me! Everything else was spot on. I love their dessert at the end. It was a great way to end the night. Our server and their staff were all amazing! Very friendly and welcoming. Yes it is a tourist spot but totally worth it.

We did not have one but they were happy to seat the 2 of us and invited us to switch tables once another couple left (they were checking out). Small space, can accommodate groups of 2-4, cozy atmosphere, lots of the traditional blue and white ceramics on the wall (dishes and tiles). Traditional Dutch cuisine: we ordered the Boerenkoolstamppot with smoked sausage and Zuurkoolstamppot with smoked sausage and a slice of apple pie to share for dessert. The food arrived piping hot in about 20 minutes. It was sooo delicious--the tasty juicy sausage pairs perfectly the mashed potatoes with either sauerkraut or kale. The apple pie was also tasty--larger chunks of apple and more spices less sugar than American apple pie from what I can tell. Perfect with whipped cream. A must visit if you're in Amsterdam and want to try traditional fare. Highly recommended!
