Daimon Marchand scheduled a time to come measure the window and flaked. The next week he said he came and got no answer. So he left a nasty message saying he's going to charge me a fee for driving out here (to Oakland- he's in Alameda). I had my phone in the other room, so I called him back about an hour later. I asked him to come back out, hey you flaked on me so call it even. He was a total jerk about it. Unprofessional. Bad service. Find somebody respectful. Notice that his positive reviews are years old -- recently his work has been crap. read more

Daimon was my fourth call after buying a "fixer upper" condo on Santa Clara Ave. I won't lie - it took one week to finally connect. After he did arrive at my home for an estimate, he was a perfect match for our needs. His prices beat three other competitors. No job was too big or small. He even contacted me a week after I wrote the check to make sure everything met my expectations, and came back to tighten a few things up. Great team, very professional, and so glad I hired this group. read more

I hired Daimon to do a complete house remodel. I wanted a modern look & I wanted the kitchen to be roomy and airy. From the very beginning, everything felt great. We got a good price breakdown for our project which fit our time frame and budget. I honestly don't know what l would have done without them. The project started on time, all of the workers were extremely professional, quick, clean and efficient. They kept all promises they made and more! The project was finished on time, and the quality and the communication was excellent. I highly recommend and will be working with Daimon in any future projects! read more

Daimon to the Rescue! Before I go further, I must say that I know Daimon personally. This personal relationship could be construed as conflict of interest. I consider it a stroke of extreme good fortune that I was able to call on a friend when I was desperate for help, but I will be scrupulously honest in all details of this review. Daimon does not know I am doing this review; has never talked to me about doing a review; nor has he asked me to be a reference. I definitely do not expect any kind of compensation or special deals because of it... So, about that rescue... Last month hubby and I decided to refinance our mortgage, without a clue of what was about to happen. Thus my slightly panicked call to Daimon - "An appraiser is coming to my house in less than 48 hours and we cannot have any unfinished projects in our house!" The details are irrelevant, and I went though way more than necessary in the original version of this review. (Takes me a while to pare things down. Still can't really do it) Suffice it to say, that Daimon did me a personal favor and did an emergency fix on a quirky little thing in my 120 year old Victorian. He squeezed us in by dropping by promptly at 7:30 in the morning, before heading off to his previously scheduled job. The "Two seconds!" job was, of course, more complicated than expected, but Daimon worked efficiently and creatively, helping us meet an outrageous deadline a whole day in advance. So, I say with all confidence, whether it is a small job like mine, or a bigger job as you will read about in other reviews, Daimon Marchand earns every single one of his 5 stars. November Update: Needed some more work done, this time on our rental apartment... Once again, Daimon accommodated a tight timeline. He sent one of his crew to do the work. Tomas was efficient, professional, friendly, CLEAN! Daimon stood behind his work 100%. He followed up on all my questions and made sure that I was satisfied with everything... once again, Daimon *and* his crew earn all five stars! read more

Our landlord hired Daimon Construction in 2018 to sand down the underside of the cabinet that sits above our refrigerator, in order to allow the new refrigerator to fit. The worker proceeded to perform a sanding job that resulted in sawdust being sprayed all over the kitchen. On the floors. On the counters. Everywhere. He made no preparatory attempts to corral the sawdust, or lay down any platic sheeting, tarps, etc. After my wife pointed out the mess he made, the worker got aggressively defensive and totally callous to the mess he made. Only after my wife pointed out our small child crawling around in the living room, and how he would probably not benefit from inhaling sawdust, did the worker make any attempt to help my wife clean up the mess. Regarding the actual job he was hired to do, while the worker did carve out a pretty curve into the underside of the cabinet, it wasn't even remotely an appropriate action, as the positioning of the pretty curve was too far to the right, and prevented the dishwasher from being able to fully open. When I called him to inquire about him coming back to do the job that was actually needed, he was openly hostile to me, told me to take it up with my landlord, and then hung up on me. I appreciate the obstacles that pop up in any construction job. Things can go awry, and it's very possible that the landlord didn't clearly explain the job. But that's no excuse for the Damion Constuction worker failing to properly plan for, or perform the job. He didn't have to be rude to my wife, he didn't have to be rude to me, and he didn't have to hang up on me either. None of that behavior has anything to do with a property management company. I can't imagine a scenario where I would ever allow this worker in my home again, much less hire him for anything other than the simplest and most straightforward jobs. read more

We hired Daimon of Daimon Construction to do our granite Kitchen counters and he did such a great job that we hired him the next week to remodel our master bathroom. We actually found Daimon on YELP as we dont know very many people in the Bay Area to give us referals (moved here from Chicago not long ago). His prices are very competitive and the quality to superb. Our jobs we not easy ones and Daimon (& Thomas) successfully completed them on-time & on-budget. Not only would I recommend their work, but I have provided them my # to be a reference. Hire Daimon with confidence. read more

Hhmm... Daimon Marchand... where should I even begin? Well, first and foremost, I have to say what an honest man this guy is - and honesty is one of the most, if not THE most, important quality I look for when hiring a contractor. I've read/heard about what a pain it is to find a good contractor, be it for the quality of work or budget issue i.e. final cost being WAY over what was initially estimated. But you can put your mind at ease with Daimon. From the very first time he came in to give me an estimate, I could tell that he was very passionate about his job. He has great ideas about what to do with the place to make it that much more functional. Throughout the entire project, he also demonstrated great problem solving skills. He's always on top of things, keeps me constantly updated, and oh, his attention to details is marvelous! He doesn't miss out on the teeniest little things. His helpers - Juan & Tomas - are great quality workers too! My overall experience with Daimon has been really positive. I like how he guarantees the quality of his craftsmanship! I am welcome to contact him in the future if anything that he worked on became less than satisfactory. But looking at my newly renovated place - I don't think there's anything I need to worry about! read more

For all your home projects, whether it's a whole house remodel or just a new fabulous bathroom, RUN, don't Walk, and call Daimon Marchand to get on his schedule to make your dreams come true. I know it sounds like I'm gushing, but I'm just so enthusiastic about this man's work ethic and professionalism. Not just your run-of-the-mill general contractor, Daimon is also an artist (his wife is a talented artiste too). So he brings a unique creativity and ability to "dream up" a remodel that you'll be hard-pressed to find. He is one of the most RELIABLE, RESPECTFUL, FUN and SMART people I've come across as both a homeowner and a realtor. I feel so fortunate to have him in our corner and will rely on his expertise as long as he's in business. He works in San Francisco and the east bay and knows building codes, makes drawings for smaller jobs, and has a well-versed and trusting crew. I know of plenty of other people not on YELP (non-social media peeps) who rave about Daimon as well. Good luck! read more

Daimon Construction, and it's owner, Daimon Marchand, is absolutely a gem. Though we met with about 3 other contractors, we chose Daimon because he seemed the most honest and capable. The end result of Daimon's work was amazing. Daimon and his assistant, Tomas, were always on time, worked efficiently, and most of all, did a fabulous job. Daimon is a true perfectionist and does not skimp a single detail, a trait valued by two persnickety people like my fiance and me. I would highly recommend Daimon for any general contract work. He will be our go-to guy for any new needs that will arise in our future. read more

Daimon and his crew do great work. They show up on time, he comes in on deadline and he always answers his phone. So refreshing. He did a few projects for my husband and I when we bought our apartment. We didn't have a lot of money to spend - so I was worried about getting in over my head with a contractor. No need to worry. I also found Daimon really easy to work and communicate with. Daimon wasn't the first contractor I interviewed. But he was so respectful and considerate I had to go with him and his team. I'm glad I did.. I watch a lot of HGTV - so of course I'm constantly daydreaming about renovations - someday. I plan on hiring Daimon Construction again. read more

Here's a shout-out for Daimon! He's currently working on our house, doing a major patch and paint job in 8 rooms. There were tons of cracks, holes and missing baseboards (caused by rain in our ceiling & walls, but that's another story of another contractor). They had to match the texture of the original plaster, match the 80 yr old baseboard style, and re-attach/stabilize a couple kitchen cabinets that were drooping. He and his crew are fantastic! 1) They covered everything in plastic and created "negative pressure" to minimize the dust. 2) They are finishing off the job by sending in a cleaning crew so that our house will be sparkling clean when it's all done! 3) He's been in touch all the time, making sure we are happy with what's going on, and explaining the steps he's taking so that we understand the process and what's happening to our house! 4) His crew all introduced themselves to me and are friendly. They don't ignore me when I'm there; on the contrary, they let me know what's going on and the progress that's been made. I'd definitely use him again for other projects. Suzanne & Nick read more

As an Interior Architect who has done several projects with Daimon, I whole heartedly recommend him and his crew to anyone looking for a high quality remodel done by a guy with a great eye for detail, a lovely personality and an exceptional team of workers. He is a gem. He is honest, absolutely respectful of his clients and workers and will go the extra length to make sure the project is up to a client's expectations and beyond. Plus Daimon has a training in Arts so aesthetics and harmonious proportions and details are integral to every single project he does. Over the years, Daimon is consistently a fantastic contractor with exceptional results. He does get busy, and if you don't get him on the first try, try again. He's really, really worth it. read more

Daimon and his crew are absolutely fabulous! We only had a small bathroom project, but Daimon made us feel like our project was just as important as his larger projects. Great attention to detail, very freindly and efficient and communicated well during the short project. I'd highly recommend Daimond for any general contract work. In fact I'm saving my pennies so he can work with us on a kitchen remodel sometime in the future! read more

Well, we were SO IMPRESSED by the great reviews...but he never even got back to us with an estimate. Just rude. When you are your company, you should take better care to be at least polite and professional with potential clients. read more

Being a first time home owner, Im so glad I have picked Daimon for my contractor. At the beginning, I tried to deal with city permits and HOA on my own. That turned out I had so many confusion and time conflict. Things turned out fine since Daimon started the project. He handled all the permits/inspection and sometime communicating with my terrible HOA manager. He is also honest, super friendly and knowledgeable. He knows where to get good deal for materials, tiles, shower glass etc. He also make sure everything is good before he call the project is done. I feel he is a honest good friend rather than a contractor now. For me, he saves me time and money. read more

Daimon has done several small jobs in our commercial office building. He has shown up and finished each job well. I have not worked with another contractor who has been more reliable. read more

Absolutely solid 5 star recommendation. Daimon was recommended by the designer I was working with to do my kitchen remodel. We had done another fairly large-scale remodel in another city and had a pretty negative experience, so we really were nervous about selecting a contractor. I knew I was going to hire Daimon as soon as I met him. Sometimes you can just tell that a person is going to be honest and straightforward with you, and I felt very comfortable with him. Not so with some of the other people we talked to. We took a strange 1970s or 1980s homeowner remodel kitchen down to the studs and baseboards and turned it into a kitchen worthy of a magazine spread. I don't say that to toot my horn- Daimon and his crew built this, down to every meticulous detail (and man, it doesn't get more meticulous than Daimon's foreman), with the guiding vision of an equally brilliant and easy-natured interior designer (Ingrid Ballmann, whom I will be giving a 5-star review as well). To sum up the things I was most impressed by: Daimon is an excellent communicator. When issues came up, because there are always issues in 100 year old houses, Daimon called and talked to me and provided all the options that made sense. I knew I could count on him to give me the score and I never felt like I was being led by the nose. Daimon's crew was here when they said they were going to be here, and given the circumstances, he kept his work on time. The job went over, but not by an unreasonable amount of time. Again, there were delays that had nothing to do with his crew but affected their ability to work, and he handled all those changes very professionally. Unlike our previous experience, Daimon was also here just about every day checking on things, making suggestions, supporting his crew, and checking in with me when needed. The work was directed and focused. Finally (and obviously, hence the 5 stars), the details were covered. His crew held themselves and all the subcontractors to the highest expectations and made them come back and get it right when things were off. The end result is gorgeous, and I'm so glad we did this project together. read more
