Piotr and his team built a 450 sq. ft. master suite and laundry room addition for our existing 2/1. We absolutely love our "new" 3/2 that matches the style of the existing home. We really couldn't imagine working with another contractor for future projects. His team was respectful, creative and hard working. They appeared to use higher grade building materials than the other projects we see being built around town. They're finished the project within their estimated completion date during even though it was complicated by an extremely wet winter. Our project was to build an ADU in place of our detached garage. Not having done anything like this before there were a lot of things I didn't know or needed to think of. We had plans but what do I know. They were approved. Piotr and Jesus and all the team were a pleasure to work with. Review This review has been long overdue! Our house project started just before COVID and involved pretty much remodeling our entire house on the inside. Little did we know that because of COVID, our project would take longer than expected. Despite all the COVID delays, we loved the final results. I would say as far our experience with P.K. Remodeling, Piotr is probably one of the most genuine, reasonable, honest contractors out there. His team were good guys too. He was very chill, easy to work with, took care of everything behind the scenes with the city, and surprisingly reachable. We had a leak from the outside due to the rain and siding (unrelated to the inside project) and called him late at night when we got home from a vacation to notice there water seeping through the wall prior to him installing the floors. He actually replied and had his guys look at it immediately the next day and fixed our leak. When there were issues, as there always inevitably is some with home remodeling, he worked with us to pivot with new creative ideas/solutions. Although my husband and I are fairly picky in our design choices, he was honest in what he felt would look good for our home, so there was some healthy debate in certain situations. Piotr was adamant that we have lights under our waterfall kitchen counter. We were hesitant at first, but he was right, and now it's one of the favorite characteristics of our kitchen. One time, he happened to be at the same tile store as we were. We were having some trouble deciding on trim borders, he kindly joined us in conversation with the designer, but was gently insistent that the white trim edge liners looked much better than the metal that was considered. Again, he was right. All in all, this process was not without its challenges and stress, but it made it so much easier just to work with an all around good human! read more

PK Remodeling did a lower level room reconfiguration and complete bathroom renovation down to the joists in our 1940's craftsman house with all plumbing lines + electrical replaced. As an architect working on my own home, I was impressed that Piotrek and his crew did not cut corners and had attention to detail. Piotrek collaborated on the construction details and I appreciated his communication and input into the resolution of some of the more tricky aspects of the design. The cleanliness of the construction site was also impeccable. I was very pregnant at the time and appreciated the plastic partitions that were installed, masks that were worn and the crew vacuuming at the end of every day leaving as little construction dust as possible. Just had Piotr and his team do a full remodel of our kitchen and family room and it was a wonderful experience! Starting from the estimate process, Piotr was one of the only contractors that not only showed up when he said he would, but actually replied with a bid and to any questions I had. (Bonus points for not talking to me like I had no idea what I was talking about!) He was definitely not the cheapest bid we got, but he was also definitely not the most expensive. His team of Jesus and Armando did the bulk of the work, and I think there is seriously nothing they can't do. I'm a pretty big perfectionist on the little details that often get rushed through by contractors, so I'd go in at the end of the day looking for the things to bring up the next day... but couldn't find any. These guys were thoughtful, careful, kind, and thorough. All 3 were perfectionists - I can't say enough. I was able to stop worrying about the details b/c I knew they would never put up with something not done exactly right. They were also fun to have around - all 3 had fun senses of humor :) Piotr has very strong aesthetic opinions too - some were great ideas I hadn't thought of, some I vetoed, but it was nice to hear different opinions. I had done my best to have the details and scope of the project figured out ahead of time so there weren't many changes that had to be made, but they were flexible when little things inevitably came up. The only thing that didn't go as smoothly was refinishing our wood floors. The first contractor he brought it did a sub-par job. He re-did it, but it still didn't look great. Piotr agreed and told him there wouldn't be a third try. He then brought in a new contractor that was night and day difference (and I'm sure cost Piotr more), but it was nice not to have to fight to get the job done right. Piotr never made me feel like I needed to compromise my expectations. The other aspect of remodeling that I had heard from every friend that had ever remodeled in the Bay Area was that contractors consistently left the last ~10% unfinished since they already had most of their money and it wasn't worth their time to do the last details. This was absolutely not the case here. They have even come back for a couple small details long after getting their last payment. Definitely recommend PK Remodeling - no hesitation. read more

We made the extremely fortunate decision to hire Piotr and his team in late 2020 to take on the remodel of our newly purchased 1950s house in the East Bay. They began with re-roofing the house and then worked with us through much of 2021 to totally remodel the kitchen, reconfigure a couple bedrooms, completely transform two bathrooms, install new windows and new electrical wiring, and generally spruce up everything throughout. From the very beginning, it was clear that Piotr possesses an eye for design and attention to detail that sets him apart from many other contractors. We came to him with a mostly developed plan and he made a couple key design suggestions that we incorporated that ended up making a big difference for the project. Piotr worked with us patiently to finalize a scope of work that fit within our budget. His price for the project was quite fair - not the cheapest we could have found but definitely not the most expensive. Piotr works on a few projects simultaneously - His team is large enough to tackle most aspects of a project, calling in outside help for specialty task if needed, but the team is small enough that there was consistency in the project from beginning to end. (Did someone say tile setting? Armando is a complete magician.) Did everything go perfectly? No, I've worked on a lot of construction projects and nothing ever goes perfectly. We dealt with lots of material delays due to Covid supply chain issues. Mistakes were made. However, Piotr and his whole team take a lot of pride in their work, and they never hesitated throughout the project to fix something if it wasn't quite right. Also, when they were done with the project (and in fact at the end of most days during construction also) they left everything looking immaculate. We are so happy with the result! Of the contractors I've worked with over the years, very few of them have the combination of skill, attention to detail, and personal character that Piotr and his team do. Piotr and his team remodeled our master bathroom and they have set a new bar for what I look for when engaging with a contractor. They were timely, precise, and clean during the entire process. Piotr showed up for our initial meeting on-time and provided a great set of suggestions to help re-imagine our bathroom. He started on-time and his team showed up right on time everyday. It was the same two guys (Edy & Francisco) who did all the work from initial demolition to the studs to all the rough-in to the final fish. Working with PK Remodeling was a great experience. This was our first remodel after living in our house for 9 years. There was a lot we didn't know about gutting and rebuilding a kitchen. We have a Victorian house in Alameda that is over 120 years old so that presents its own set of challenges. These guys are definitely accustomed to working on these types of old houses. They even took care of pulling the permit with the city and getting it signed off on completion, which was a breeze. Our style is a little different and we had some very specific ideas about how we wanted our new kitchen to look. Piotr offered helpful functional + design ideas. He also helped us make some pretty big decisions and kept us from making a couple mistakes. We enjoyed working together. I appreciate that Piotr works with the same people all the time. We liked his crew. They were friendly and conscientious about our house and our living space. Being without a kitchen for any amount of time is not terribly convenient. But our whole remodel only took about two months. They work fast and they aren't spread out across multiple job sites. The guys were working on our place Monday - Friday almost every week. The couple of delays we had were mostly my fault as I didn't realize how long it would take to get things made/delivered. Their quality of work is also great. They pay attention to detail and make sure things are done right. We gave Piotr a budget and he worked within it. I felt like the rates he charged are reasonable and fair, especially in the Bay Area. He provided a bid that was clear and detailed with line items and costs for everything we discussed. Occasionally along the way things had to be adjusted or fixed but the small things didn't affect the cost. We decided halfway through that we wanted to add on a few additional items. Piotr and his team did a great job on our small kitchen project. It was actually a very difficult project to take on as it involved some plumbing, some granite cutting, etc. Most of the contractors I contacted quoted me for a much bigger project, while at the same time up selling/pushing for a complete kitchen remodel, which was never on the table for us. A lot of the handyman I contacted felt like the project was too big for them, and didn't want to take it on. Piotr gave by far the most reasonable quote in terms of price and estimated time. While Piotr is very busy and sometimes a bit hard to get a hold of, once you reach him and schedule an appointment, he was always very punctual with the initial evaluation and the actual work. He and his team showed up right on time and was able to finish the project in the quoted time despite having to stay a bit later than expected to finished. They also left the work area very clean. They had to work around a measurement issue (one of the appliance was too small for the opening), and even stayed late to help resolve some unexpected issues that arose unrelated to their work. Piotr, Bartek and his team did a great job remodeling our master bathroom. I was surprised when he said it would take them 5 weeks from start to finish. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to having a mess in my house for that amount of time. But his aesthetic ideas and his professionalism made us decide to hire him. I have to tell you: after seeing how they work and everything they did, I wouldn't trust anyone that says it can be done in a couple weeks. There's just no way!! Just tiling took one week! But you have to see how perfect those tiles are! Not also did they finish the job on schedule, they also cleaned after themselves every single evening. All his crew was here on time every morning, worked quietly and politely and left leaving everything tidy. You know how sometimes you see the contractor you hired the first day and he never shows up again? Not Piotr. Piotr and his team completed an amazing remodel of my small "ghetto" bathroom. They solved problems that I previously had (mold, dry rot, corrosion, lack of space for toilet use, creepy area for showering) by creating good ventilation, heating, lighting, drainage, electrical outlets, adequate space for a medicine cabinet and soothing aesthetics. PK Construction did a fantastic remodel of our home just prior to the pandemic. The house is Japanese in style with a tatami floor and lots of details. Piotr and crew studied out architectural plans and were very creative as the designs pivoted to best us the materials (tatami, kitchen cabinets, new floor, tokonoma space, fusuma, Ranma, shoji, etc). It was their first Japanese design remodel and they were great about it. The remodel was on time, and at least one person (Eddie) was here working, daily. Piotr did our kitchen remodel and helped us get rid of the 1970 Brady bunch kitchen and transform it to a sleek modern kitchen. I met with several contractors but decided to go with Piotr as I was confident, like the other yelpers here, that he could deliver on the vision that we wanted. From the first meeting, he was proactive with suggestions on how to make the kitchen a space that will work for us. Piotr has a keen design eye and is able to make great suggestions that provided a wonderful facelift for our space. He was definitely a great partner in the stressful task of remodeling. What I appreciated most was that he would always show me alternatives so that I could make an insightful decisions. We had an architect that suggested a 16" beam overhang ; and Piotr was the saving grace that saved us from the pitfall of having that 16" nightmare in the most conspicuous area of our living space. Instead, now we have a beautiful bamboo beam which adds architectural interest to our space and at only 7", our guests would not need to dodge when passing between living and dining areas. When he saw that my stone fireplace was not going to work with my spanking new sleek modern kitchen, he threw out another cost effective, fabulous idea to give my fireplace a facelift and we can't be happier about that. Piotr was also always accessible via text, phone, email and that to me is a major PLUS and I felt informed in a whole process of what the schedule was and who was coming to work on what in the house. We left our house keys with Piotr and crew and never had an issue with it; they are trustworthy and reliable. His crew are all amazing and hard workers. Remodel is not a dust free zone but Piotr and team help to ensure that the mess is contained and they clean up each day and are respectful of our home. We told him what our budget was and he helped us figure out how to make it work and he stayed within it. He did discover some nasty problems once the walls were down but he solved them, and while there was a little extra expense, it was totally reasonable and the sort of thing that happens with an old house. In addition to doing great work he has a great design sense and made a lot of excellent suggestions. He made us a custom vanity and matching storage cabinet for way less than it would have cost us to buy similar stock units. He also got us a great deal on the marble that we used. I would rate Peter's crew work 10 stars if I could . We were very happy we've chosen PKremodeling for our extensive master suite remodeling. It was a complex job with demolition, vaulting ceiling, re-piping and re-wiring with new drywall, slab installation etc. Initially had 4 general contractor bids and Peter came across the best from the start. Price and availability weren't the only reasons. We chose PKremodeling because : Peter provided multiple options/ideas whereas other guys were ready to go with whatever we told them. Most importantly he has a stable crew that works with him on all projects We liked his clean bathroom designs. It kind of matched our view of how it should look and feel Peter had an extensive documented bathroom remodel portfolio Promptly responded to emails and was very easy to go over details, bounce ideas and get advise based on experience Over time of remodeling we learned Peter really cares about the quality of his work and his craftsmanship, always checked with us if decision may affect look and feel, regularly reviewed checklist of remaining work and often came up with design improvements we didn't anticipate. He knows his craft well and solves problems with creative thinking. Peter's crew - Eduardo and Raul are awesome - very patient and with great attention for the detail. Always did thorough clean up every day. After watching them work for the first few weeks we knew we can rely on their ability to do everything well . We also asked Peter to help us to do additional work on the house when his team anticipated downtime. PKremodeling subcontracted work on custom cabinets, mirrors and stone/slab work with real professionals, Peter managed them well, we had no frustrations or concerns during time of remodeling as he already had our trust . His own crew was ahead of schedule most of the time and always switched from one job to another if they have to wait for materials we've been ordering . Never seen them idling . Result of this crew work is amazing, we are enjoying it every day . All our neighbors and friends are impressed by design and quality of PKremodeling work. We have a 2.5 story duplex built in 1906, and Piotr and his team did a full renovation to the back half of the house (from foundation up) and full remodel of top flat (down to the studs). They did such an amazing job, especially given the circumstances of the starting condition (VERY poor) and the fact that we had tenants living downstairs throughout the full construction. Piotr's very communicative, readily gives advice, has an aesthetic eye, and kept a light sense of humor (which was so necessary because our place had so many laughable issues). There was nothing his guys couldn't do, and they were the nicest crew too... from 8ft deep foundation down to the finest trim details. Piotr did a fabulous job remodeling our two bathrooms. He had great suggestions and a lot of patience for all my questions. My husband's bathroom was small and dark. There was a wall/door that divided the vanity area from the shower/toilet area. Piotr removed the wall/door which opened up the bathroom dramatically. The bathroom looks so modern now with the glass wall tiles, floor tiles, fancy style shower, lighting, mirror, water efficient toilet and floating vanity. My husband loves his rainfall shower head with temperature changing lights (lights start out as blue for cold, then turns red for hot). We refer to it as his disco shower. My bathroom was converted from a bathtub to a shower. I guess you would describe my bathroom as being more conservative than my husband's. I don't have the disco shower like him, but still absolutely love my rainfall shower head. My bathroom is so much brighter now with the tile walls/floor, new style shower, lighting, medicine cabinet, water efficient toilet and floating vanity. We had our bathroom remodeled, and wow-ended up with something better than anything me or my husband envisioned. I looked around for several contractors, and was very impressed by Piotr right from the start. What stood out most was his genuine excitement and enthusiasm for the work. He showed up himself for the estimate, didn't send anyone to do the "preliminary work and measurements". My husband and I didn't really have any experience with remodeling and trusted him completely for ideas. He had very creative ideas and we just rolled with it...we were NOT disappointed at the end! We had a beautiful remodel done with all marble, a soaking tub, rain shower and a wall mounted vanity. The whole process took about a year from the time he first came to the time it was all done. It took us a long time to decide on the marble and fixtures we needed. The actual demolition and construction took less than a month however. Peter and his crew of two were extremely professional. They worked from 9-5 and cleaned up well. The actual price of the whole project ended up to be alot more than we started out with, but this is typical of remodeling and construction...so we did have extra saved just for this project. I LOVE our bathroom and it truly is luxurious!! We get so many complements from guests. If we do choose to remodel another part of our home, we will definitely use Piotr and his guys! Piotr and his team did a *fantastic* job with a fairly extensive remodeling job in our Oakland home. They updated around ten rooms, including our kitchen, multiple bathrooms, and bedrooms. It would take forever to list everything they did, but some of the highlights included installing new kitchen cabinets and countertops, replacing three fireplaces, swapping carpets for new hardwood floors, extending our deck and building in a hot tub, painting the entire house, adding and tiling a bathtub, and totally remodeling a small bar in our game room. I ended up deferring to him on multiple design decisions because he has a great eye. He was also willing to purchase many materials on my behalf and invoice me for them, rather than making me do all the purchasing myself--a very helpful service. Piotr also went above and beyond to make sure our move-in was easy; he even agreed to unbox, build, and place a bunch of our new furniture so the house was livable from day one. Great job transforming a worn-out "cave" kitchen into a bright and airy space full of natural light. The construction is very high quality, and I was glad to see the addition of solid beams with no shortcuts. Piotr and his team added lots of windows/skylights and found trim to match the 1920s look of the house, and then filled in with the cosmetic touches: beautiful paint job, good deep colors, contrasting with pristine white subway tile backsplash. Piotr also has a vision for what would look good in a given space and what it needs to make it complete. Once all the appliances and cabinets were in, he added a custom-made bench and table in walnut that makes it all cozy - a great spot to enjoy a coffee. Recommended! read more

Piotr (Peter) is great person to work with in your remodeling project. Two friends in Oakland referred him to me and I was absolutely happy with his remodeling of their two bathrooms. The remodeled bathroom is beautiful. Not only he is a great builder (you can tell he loves his job), he also possess an artistic sense (design, colors, etc.) as well as an architectural knack. He loved going shopping for items such as tiles and we spent a great deal of attention to pick what works well. People who know me know that I have much sense of what I like. But with Piotr I had not problem letting him suggest ideas as his were often similar to mine and given his experience, more fruitful than mine. Piotr's work also did not make my life difficult during the three-week plus of the project. He cleaned up daily, made minimal dust and noise, and took care to step lightly around the house to ensure minimal disturbance to my cats. I have had serious problems with remodeling in the past. Contractors proved unreliable and untrustworthy and less than qualified. Piotr made me feel comfortable and happy with his work. The peace of mind in doing a remodel should be cherished! I just had my shower remodeled by Piotr and I absolutely love it. He had a lot of experience with doing high end work, so he gave me some ideas on what looked nice at the lowest cost. I was even able to buy some items on eBay. In the end, I got a fabulous shower that made my teeny tiny bathroom look bigger. Taking a shower now is a luxury with the rain shower faucet, glass doors and beautiful floor to ceiling tiled walls. I could stay in there all day and feel like I'm in a spa. Piotr was quick and has tons of energy. Every spare minute he would be helping me make some choices by running to the stores to pick up samples. Piotrek was fantastic remodeling our bathroom. We expanded to laundry area to add a little space, move opening of door, install new windows and best of all, created a open shower. It looks gorgeous and quality of the work is superb. He also helps us reconfigured our master bedroom closet using what Ikea had to offer, that way we save big $$$ and looks great. Wow, where do I start! Well for those of you who don't like to read long reviews like myself I will save you some time. In life I've learned you get what you pay for and quality isn't cheap or rushed. Well neither is PK Remodeling. They are extremely talented and hands down I will use them over and over and over again! They provide the Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton/St. Regis quality you expect in remodeling and I guarantee you will be more than blown away with their work. Ok now for those who have a little more time for my review on P.K. Remodeling. I'm sure you may know in the Bay Area there is a shortage of labor right now period, let alone quality tradesmen in the construction industry. General Contractor companies are extremely busy right now and majority of them don't have time for your project or will even call you back. Then if you do get ahold of them, they tell you it will be 3-4 months before they can even look at your place. Then if they do its way overpriced and their laborers are not even qualified to do quality work. They are all trying to make a quick buck and move on to the next project. Right now it's all greed! Not with P.K. Remodeling, Piotr cares about his work. He will work hard to make his clients happy and give them exactly what they asked for, then he will go above and beyond that and give you more than what you asked for! You see to add some depth to this review, I am a Real Estate Developer and do high end work for my company throughout the US and expected the same quality for my new home. Which trust me is really hard to find in the Bay Area. I bid out my project to several GC's, shortlisted three of them, and only Piotr's company I felt comfortable with. From day one when he came in to look at the house he gave me great ideas that even my Architect couldn't even come up with and from that point on I knew he was the guy I wanted to work with. But of course he was busy and booked at the time I wanted him to start and I almost went with plan B, but my heart and gut told me to just wait it out. So glad I listened, my friends are blown away by his finished product and think that someone from HGTV came in and renovated my house. My house is a dream come true and the level of quality and detail that was done on my house still amazes me as I live in it now. For all those who claim he didn't respond back, that's probably my fault. Piotr completely remodeling my house and I am surprised he still had time to complete all those houses on here that gave him 5 star reviews while he was working on my house. I hope you get to see how amazing his company is and don't worry about the cost or the time, it's your house, it's totally worth it in the long run. He will increase the value of your property tenfold and you will love coming home to your beautiful investment. We became great friends throughout the process and someone I could totally trust in my house while I was on the road working.
