We've had the pleasure of working with Reinaldo from RP Builders on multiple projects in our home -- a full kitchen remodel and a complete bathroom remodel -- and we couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, Reinaldo was an absolute professional. He was always responsive to our questions and ideas, kept us updated on his progress with texts and photos, and made sure we understood all our options without ever pressuring us. His communication is excellent, and he truly listens to what you want your home to become. Reinaldo's workmanship is outstanding. His attention to detail is second to none -- if something isn't perfectly straight or aligned, he notices and fixes it before you even have to say a word. Our new kitchen is both beautiful and incredibly functional, with a layout that makes cooking and entertaining a joy. The bathroom remodel is equally impressive -- the tile work is immaculate and the overall finish is flawless. His crew reflects his professionalism as well: polite, friendly, and respectful of our home. They always left the job site as clean as possible at the end of each day. Reinaldo is not only a highly skilled and knowledgeable contractor but also a genuinely great person to work with. His goal is always to make your remodeling dreams come true, and he absolutely succeeded with ours. We can't recommend RP Builders highly enough -- whether your project is big or small, you'll be in excellent hands with Reinaldo and his team. read more

RP builders did an excellent job installing a new exterior door. On budget, on time, and looks great. Reimundo and his crew took their time to get all the details right. Reimundo knows his trade. I will be calling RP builders for my next job. read more

RP builders did a great job on a fixer upper investment house I bought that needed a lot of permits and repairs. They did all the work and worked very well with the city permit process. Very reasonable price too! I highly recommend them for any home repair/upgrade. read more

Reimundo came late to our appointment, barely spent any time surveying my kitchen as I was trying to get a quote for kitchen cabinets. When I asked to brainstorm on how to minimize expenses, he said in his broken, slur-filled English that he would send me a quote via email and hurried out. 10 minutes after, he calls me and gives some bs excuse about helping out his wife so I asked him if he could recommend anyone else. He said he didn't want to give me anyone and then abruptly hung up. My interaction with Reimundo was terrible as he was extremely disrespectful once he learned he couldn't bait and switch me to rip me off. No class. Very entitled. read more

We had a BIG project - converted a bedroom into a kitchen and converted the old kitchen into a bedroom. We shopped around for prices and interviewed contractors. Reimundo seemed like the right guy for the job and had the most reasonable prices we could find. This was a permitted project with the city of El Cerrito, and Reimundo worked well with the inspector. We were extremely happy with the work done. Our kitchen is beautiful and the bedroom looks like it was always meant to be there. Project details: Kitchen (note: we did outsource the tile and counter tops) -Run new plumbing and install electrical in new kitchen -Install kitchen cabinets, kitchen island, appliances, sink, oven, etc. -Install insulation/drywall/crown molding - painted -Install 2 skylights Old Kitchen/New Bedroom -Demo old kitchen -Install drywall -Paint -Install new floors to match existing hardwood Other -Update electrical panel -Knock down 2 walls to open new kitchen to dining room (we had plans that he followed from engineer) -Build Deck Would definitely recommend Reimundo and team. We were on budget and about on time. We were very happy with the work. If you'd like additional details please message me! read more

I have used RP Builders for two major jobs. The owner, Reimundo, is a friendly, conscientious, professional, inexpensive, and talented contractor. The first time, I hired him to build a new garage because he was the lowest bidder. The garage is a masterpiece thanks to Reimundo's attention to detail and craftsmanship. More recently, I hired Rei to do an electrical retrofit (knob and tube wiring is a leading cause of fires in berkeley). Rei recruited a licensed electrician and then worked with him an us to make sure everything was done properly. He then brought in a crew of sheetrock experts to repair holes needed to rewire the house. Everything Rei oversaw was performed perfectly and at a very reasonable price. Rei is always on-time and communicates with his clients so there is a shared understanding of expectations. he's a pleasure to work with. Hire him; you will not be disappointed. read more

We found Reimundo on Yelp when we were looking for a contractor to install our kitchen cabinets. He had gotten reviews for craftsmanship and reasonable prices so we gave him a call. Our first impression was he arrived on time for the estimate and then every day on the job after that. He had lots of challenges with our cabinets since our home is older (90 years old), nothing is aligned or straight any more, nor did our cabinets come with any sort of instructions, but that didn't daunt him. He did an excellent job, and came up with creative suggestions to get around some of the structural issues, but always got our OK before proceeding. You could tell he took a lot of pride in his work and providing a quality job. Great attention to detail, always cleaned up afterward. You will not be disappointed. read more

If you're here on Yelp looking for a contractor, look no further. RP Builders did an outstanding job on an otherwise daunting fence and retaining wall project for me. Along the way, Reimundo kept me in the loop, daily texting me photos of the progress, answering all of my questions and quelling my concerns. I came away from the experience extremely satisfied with the end results. Bathroom and kitchen remodels, additions, plumbing, electrical, finish carpentry, cement, tile...they can do it all and they bring years of experience with them! Competence, quality and competitive pricing are what I looked for in a contractor. RP Builders checked off all of those boxes and more. Stop looking for another contractor for your next project. I called RP builders and Raimundo answered. We set up an appointment to come to my house and gave me an estimate to install new windows. He is friendly, always on time and a consentcious hard working person. Needless to say I love my new widows. Highly recommended. read more

note: This is NOT a review of his contracting work, but rather of our experience working with him on an estimate. I was looking to have work done on our house and contacted Reimundo to talk to him about it and get an estimate. While we ended up going with another contractor who was a better fit for what we wanted to do, I really appreciated working with Reimundo as well. He wasn't pushy, didn't try to upsell us, offered us lower-cost ways to do the work, was prompt with a very competitive estimate, and didn't pressure us. Although we didn't go with him on this project, and I can't comment on his actual contract work, I can say that I would recommend him as a contractor based on our experience with him. read more

Reimundo worked on my rental home that I bought. The house needed some work to make it rentable. Reimundo fixed a wall, installed a dishwasher and even converted a walkin closet into a half bathroom. He replaced the bathtub and retiled it, turning it into a beautiful bathroom! He also removed the wall to wall carpet and polished the hardwood floor.I highly recommend RP Builders, his estimates were very reasonable! read more

I needed an old leaky Berkeley garage rebuilt. I interviewed a few contractors and Reimundo was friendly, knowledgeable and listened to what we needed. We hired him to the work. And it was a great decision - he kept us informed of the progress weekly (or more if we needed). There were cost overruns (because the city required a sump pump to drain water) - and he informed us of the added cost and got our approval along the way. It was a pleasure having him compete this project and would definitely call him again if the house needs more work. The garage looks great! read more

Reimundo did some drywall and painting for us. His work was excellent, and he was very generous with his time (without charging more than originally agreed upon). He is friendly, professional and thorough. He answered phone calls and E-mail the same day. I would definitely use him again. read more

Great services!!! Always on time and friendly owner. Did a great job in my bathroom. highly recommended.

I ran into Reimundo at a job I was working on and saw the house before and after and I have to say, I was impressed! Not only is he good at what he does, he is honest and trustworthy. I was working outside on some windows and inadvertently left my cell phone on the back of his truck and he left and I left after him. I got down the street and reached for my phone and it wasn't there so I went back and looked all over for it. He went to Home Depot and back and the phone was still on the back of the truck and he made a valiant effort to find the owner! I had no idea where I left it, I actually thought I left it on the top of my workers car and he drove off with it. I caught up with my co-worker at another job and he didnt have it so I had him dial my number and Reimundo answered the phone and said he found it on the back of his truck. That was my lifeline and Reimundo saved the day! I offered him a reward twice and he wouldn't take it! It's hard to find guys like this these days! THANK YOU AGAIN REIMUNDO! read more

I agree with all the other 5 star reviews. Reimundo did an outstanding job in designing, engineering, and laying the concrete patio/pathway in front of our home. He even added design features free of charge we had not requested him to bid on to improve the functionality of the construction. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and highly skilled contractor. read more

I have used RP Builders for our house in Oakland, CA. He and his team worked on my kitchen remodel, our deck construction, bath remodel and full house painting. We also used them for the replacement of windows and doors in our house and the expansion of the kitchen which was complex and involved foundation work and movement of plumbing. I can not say enough good things. Reimundo is a friendly and experienced builder/electrician who pays great attention to detail and the craft of building. He not only listens to the job you want done, but makes excellent suggestions and then gets the job done perfectly. They were fast, courteous, and reasonably priced. I would use them again for all major jobs. I would recommend him very highly. read more

We just used RP again for a kitchen update, painting, medicine cabinet replacement, fence gates job on a rental. On a Saturday and on his own time, Reimundo took me to 2 hardware stores discussing and picking out countertops, sinks, backsplash, faucets, etc....so that we could proceed with the work quickly. He literally spent hours on a beautiful Saturday with me driving all over the place to pick out hardware. He was already booked but squeezed our job in between and on weekends. The finished updated kitchen is transformational to say the least! RP updated me with pictures and text throughout the project. He is meticulous and supervises his crews well. He even supervises the cleaning lady's job since we are not on site. He makes good recommendations to update all the switch plates and plugs to give the house an updated look. He was going to do the switch work pro bono but I paid him anyway. Then recently I was in town just one day and called RP to see if he could fix the plaster ceiling gaping hole in the garage. He immediately made some phone calls and recruited a plaster specialist and together the two of them demo and put up new fire retardant sheet rock and patched the hole beautifully in just a few hours. It is hard to find good capable help and one who will not overcharge you and one you can trust your home to. He also takes pride in a job well done and that is becoming rare these days. Plus his invoicing is very clear too. I continue to be grateful to have RP's expertise to maintain and beautify my property. read more
