Arcenio arrived swiftly, put a ladder directly on the front of my house, inspected the roof, and proposed that the old dutch gutters could easily be replaced. They cut the rafter tails, added gutters, and completed the project in 3 days. Plywood was also added on top of the decking, which should add some structural stability. We hired a contractor in April 2025 to do a full home remodel on a two story home down to studs. It was a nightmare up until September 2026 when I fired them. Part of the nightmare is we realized the contractor had ONE guy who put in the roof by himself in a over a week. The same guy did the plumbing and the same guy did our tile. When we took on the project ourselves and finally started to see the scope of everything that was done wrong and we got to speak to the inspectors. The inspectors let us know that the contractor continuously failed inspections but the contractor didn't tell us that. It We realize how messed up the situation was. I'm 36 weeks pregnant now, exhausted, discouraged, and angry. We hired Maciel Roofing to redo a roof that is less than a year old and was suppose to be "complete". Double paying for something is obviously a kick in the gut but it was necessary. The inspector was leaving today while I was arriving to the house. He actually waited for me to get out the car so he can let me know that this company is one of the most well-known and respected companies across inspectors in Hayward. He knows that things have been sucking lately, but he said hopefully that could give me peace of mind and it truly did. After what we've been through I don't know who I can trust anymore so hearing that just made this all worth it for me. I'll come back to let you all know how it ended up. We engaged a roofer to assess several rust-through spots occurring on five long panels. Upon…read moreinspection, the roofer immediately attributed the cause of the rust to the solar installer, effectively deflecting responsibility. However, the evidence does not support this conclusion. Our roof consists of two levels, and we observed rust on several spots across five long panels--many of which are not adjacent to the solar installation. Furthermore, the upper level of the roof, which has no solar panels whatsoever, also exhibits couple similar rust spots. These observations strongly suggest that the rust is not caused by the solar installation but rather stems from a material or manufacturing defect. Despite these panels carrying a 50-year life warranty, the roofer was quick to claim that the rust is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. This is deeply disappointing, particularly given the clear evidence that the damage extends well beyond any area impacted by the solar work. The roofer demonstrated no willingness to help address the issue and offered no solution for the roof leak currently occurring at the lower level. The lack of accountability and absence of any proposed remediation is unacceptable given the scope of the defects observed.

The carpenters were very careful in the installations, they sectioned off the area under the skylights and sun tubes with plastic so the dust and debris did not get into our furniture or floor. The walls of the skylights were textured, primed and painted. The roofers completed the roof in one day. They were careful not to break any plants and they cleaned up the yard and surrounding area. They left it cleaner than they found it because in addition to picking up roof debris, they also cleaned up leaf litter. I was planning on sweeping up the patio the day before they came, decided to put it off till after they left, but when I went out the next day it was all gone, spotless. I highly recommend this company.

We requested work to start as soon as possible. However, weeks later without any confirmed start date, Pacific Coast Roofing incredible blamed US for the delay. The message exchanges are attached and you be the judge. - We selected steel gutter screen option as the location is prone to falling leaves. However, Pacific Coast Roofing never installed it, but instead sent us invoice charging us for the screen. At best this is gross negligence and at worst it's fraud. We had to inspect the gutter ourselves to discover this, AFTER receiving invoice billing us for it. See attached pictures of the SOW and Invoice. - The job covers both main house and garage as per our quote. No confirmation garage gutter were replaced. If you are considering working with Pacific Coast Roofing, my recommendation is to inspect carefully and every step of the way what they are installing.

Day one, removed whole roof, had a dumpster to haul away the debris. Assessed what was under & found a section with dry rot. Covered roof with a big tarp . Next day, repaired dry rot, replaced all plywood on roof , day three installed all new vents atop roof & replaced all gutters & downspouts installed tarpaper & new roof shingles!! All in all 2-1/2 days Astro Roofing completed task & cleaned up all around the worksite I didn't need to ask for any other bids bc I saw them @ work in another city at another time & was impressed with their performance & when Solomon gave me their pricing I agreed as they were quite reasonable!
