WARNING, BEWARE, WARNING - DC POOL CO., INC. INCOMPETENT.
In Summer of 2017, DC Pool, who at the time was working without a license, incorrectly installed my 15x30 oval above ground pool. It took them 2 weeks to botch the install, which should have been completed in one day. For DC Pools "tomorrow" is 2 days later and "first thing in the morning" means 4:15 in the afternoon. I read the install manual and realized that they did not install concrete blocks under the uprights and used wrong screws everywhere. Part of the pool liner also fell down and there were gaps in the bead receiver. They did not follow the manual. When I confronted the owner Dennis Cook, he wanted more money to fix HIS mistakes. There were 3 sets of straps which when assembled, underground, reinforced the sides of the pool. There were 3 long and 3 short straps. The manual said to put 3 sets of straps together, one long and one short. DC Pools had a better idea, they put the long with the long, short with the short and the long with the short strapped together, thereby, having 3 different measurements across the pool. They could not have screwed this up anymore except if there were more straps to install. Visually, the pool install was a DISASTER. I contacted 3 pool companies, and all 3 said that the ENTIRE pool must come down and be reassembled. I took DC Pool Co to small claims court to get the $3,850 that I had to pay to fix the problem including the pool parts that were damaged. Small claims court could not deliver the complaint to DC Pools. I had to hire a process server at a cost of $150 to locate DC Pools business address. 31 Dogwood Ave Farmingville NY was not his address at the time. He only used PO BOX in his contract. How clever, you can not SUE a business with a PO BOX as an address. I won in small claims court and still trying to recover my money to this day. read more
