Love this place!! Only place i trust in the district for my lash lift & tint - highly recommend!

Very happy with my Lash Lift / Perm and Tint! I've had lash lifts before but this is my first one in DC and Josie has totally won me over; DC Lash Bar is definitely my new go-to spot. Josie was fantastic, I was in between sizes on the foam roller and she was great about consulting me about my lash preference to optimize my look. We went for the larger size which leads to a little less curl, and she said that if I wasn't happy with the amount of curl I could come back in 24 hours and get them touched up. Josie was also super knowledgeable, interesting and fun to talk to. This was my first lift with a foam roller rather than the silicone pads (eg. the Yumi keratin lift) and I was nervous that I wouldn't like the look, but in fact think I prefer this style. There seems to be less "lifting" action at the base of the lash but my lashes are long so I don't think I need that lift, and the overall effect is pretty. If my lashes were shorter maybe I would have preferred the extra push up of the silicone pad style. The place is stylish and the beds are SO comfortable. Usually 20 minutes into any treatment I'm super antsy and my head hurts, but these beds were awesome and the 30 minute treatment flew by. I used to be a total extension addict but right now I prefer the low maintenance of the lift instead. I feel like it gives my lashes enough of a boost to look pretty without makeup while still looking natural, but that's personal preference. May try extensions with DC Lash Bar in the future when I'm looking for that glam look again :) read more

I love the lash extensions so much! I don't need eye makeup and I always look glam! I am addicted and keep coming up for "reasons" why I must schedule my next appointment. The single most important application to my face. Add lipstick and I'm unstoppable! read more

Came in after using a lash serum for several months to prep my natural lashes to be longer and fuller without having to constantly make a full set of lash appts. I am very plain Jane type of girl. DC Lash Bar was so accommodating as I was 30 minutes late for my appointment - its hard to get out with 3 kids! I was ever so grateful. I saw Shauntice Wyatt for my Lash Perm and it was a game changer! I barely need mascara. It was super quick and the perm smell not as heavy as I thought it would be. She was thorough and gave me great pointers on taking care of them. I will be back! Its so nice to have at least one part of my daily morning routine checked off! YOU MUST TRY A LASH PERM!!! read more

I spent 2.5 hours having my lashes done here. It was painful - first time I've ever had lashes done and it had it hurt. I hoped that for the insane price tag, the pain would be worth it. My lashes look... exactly the same. A complete waste of money. The salon tech repeatedly apologized and said her glue wasn't working. That doesn't help me $300 later with literally nothing to show for it. Highway robbery. Do not go here. Terrible experience. read more

I can't say enough good things about DC Lash Bar! I always have a great experience when I go and my lashes always look amazing for weeks! Huyen is the BEST! She is so talented and is the sweetest person in the world. I love chatting with her while getting my lashes done and then looking in the mirror after is always exciting! She does fabulous work and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. The salon itself is so beautiful and clean! I really look forward to my appointments there. It's definitely a treat and it's pricey but I understand why. It is labor intensive work and takes a while to apply all of the lashes and they look amazing. Definitely allow yourself to splurge and treat yourself to getting lashes and waking up ready every morning! And ask for Huyen!!! read more

Lindsey did a great job with my lash perm. She was honest with me and said I didn't need a tint, which I appreciate as other places will still give you the tint even though it's not necessary. Lindsey also answered all my questions about the Classic Extensions. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I've been to DC lash bar twice for lash tint/perm with Mai. (Also had a spray tan which was a tad expensive but would go back for sure). Mai is very knowledgeable and walked me through the whole process. She is very kind and relaxing to be around. The process takes no more than 30 or 40 mins in a nice quiet room on a comfy table. I've gotten lash extensions in the past at other places which I've LOVED, but I didn't like the whole process of them falling out and the upkeep. My tint and perm lasted about 6 weeks. It looks awesome and it's more affordable/lasts longer than extensions. Mascara is a great way to extend the "life" of the perm. I will continue to go to Mai every couple of months. read more

DC Lash Bar - Before and after! - Eyelash Service Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I had a great experience at DC Lash Bar for my first ever anything-eyelash related treatment. I went with an eyelash perm because low maintenance is key for me. I have thick lashes but they are difficult to curl and now they have a perfect natural curl without even needing mascara. I am glad I opted to skip the lash tint because my lashes are already super dark brown or black, but if I had lighter brown lashes or blond, I would definitely opt for it. I'm sure a Natural set if I'd gone with extensions would be a bit more noticeable/dramatic, but the "lift" that the perm offers is enough of a difference to satisfy me (as someone who hates the stiffness of mascara and frequently needs to rub my eyes). The appointment scheduling process was very simple, the staff who greeted me were super friendly, and Huyen was awesome with the treatment and a pleasure to chat with. I will definitely be back! read more

The people who work here were both nice and friendly so it pains me a little to write this review, but my experience was deeply disappointing and I want to tell other people not to bother. At $275 this is the most expensive volume fill I've ever gotten (in my 7 years of receiving lash extensions) so I had expectations that it would be on the same level as other fills I've gotten and hopefully an even better experience. I was traveling in DC when I needed a fill so I went here on December 20th. The largest reason for the single star, is that I chose a Volume fill and explained what I wanted clearly - I like dramatic lashes, not a natural look. The end result was sparse in comparison to what Volume lashes should be. They should be dense and full. If you look at the picture, these are my lashes a mere 8 days later. I always follow the rules and don't get them wet for at least an entire 24 hours after they are applied. This is not what 8 days after a volume fill should look like. Though I did not take a picture right after receiving them, they were never dense. My lash technician was nice and very experienced. However, I've never received a 'lash bath,' which was uncomfortable and superfluous. Also, the service was so fast that even at the time I was worried she would be able to put on the ample lashes required within that time. I take responsibility for not saying anything when I left, I felt disappointment then but was a little dazed (as you can be after getting up from the table). So I do not know how they would have responded. But I can say that when they sent the survey, I was clear about recalling my negative experience and their reply was "Got it! Thanks again for your feedback." Other reasons for 1 star: The room I was in was tiny and claustrophobic, the bed was not as nice as others I've been in. I received no lash kit upon leaving. I was never offered anything to drink. If you're going to ask $275 for a fill, the price tag has to be worth it. The worth here is severely not adding up. I write this review for anyone who is curious if high price tags are better - not always. Don't throw your money away. read more

DC Lash Bar - A mere 8 days after a Volume fill and you can see here how sparse my lashes are. They should have been much fuller initially. - Eyelash Service Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

AVOID this place. I spent $250 in services. I've had lash lift and tints over a dozen times in my life. It's never turned out this BAD. The lashes on my left eye were over processed and broke off after a few days- leaving me with stubby, crimped lashes. I reached out to DC Lash Bar and offered to send pictures since I was out of town. They blew me off- no response. Nearly 3 months later, my lashes have recovered and I can wear eye makeup again. Compared to all the spray tan competition, I can confirm DC Lash Bar's wears off faster, despite any efforts you make to exfoliate prior and moisturize with non-sulfate products after. Mine wore off after 3 days. read more

I love this place for three reasons: 1) The quality of the work. I only get my eyebrows waxed and eyelashes permed here (no extensions for me) ... the work is flawless. I get compliments on my eyebrows constantly. The eyelash perm is great if you are lazy about curling your lashes at home, and the process is relaxing. I generally fall asleep for the 30 minute session. Which leads me to... 2) The cutest place ever. It's in Georgetown, and super inviting and charming. While it's clean and up to date, it maintains old school charm. 3) I can email about appointments. I usually send my email via yelp, and get a response within an hour about availability. That's a win in my book. Five stars. read more

Found DC Lash Bar after looking around for a while and was extremely nervous since I have never gotten any lash services done before. I once tried to use glued on lashes before and that was a nightmare.. but when I heard of lash curling I was intrigued since there's no fake lashes involved. It's a treatment done directly on your natural lashes. But it also sounds a bit dangerous since you're using chemicals so close to your eyes! After reading all the rave reviews I mustered up the courage to book an appointment online and went by for my service. The location is tucked away in georgetown and has that serene spa like feel to it. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and will answer any and all questions you might have about their services. The eyelash perm took about 20 mins tops and was absolutely the best! My technician explained the process as we went and even told me what tools she was using cuz I was curious. the lash perm is such a great alternative to fake lashes if you're not quite sure about them and lasts a solid 2 months. Cuts down on your make up routine if you're a mascara junkie like me. Can't wait to go back for my next service! read more

I got lash tinting and curling done. Carol was super nice and did a wonderful job! As cool as I think the before/after photo is, I don't think it does the service justice. It's quite a dramatic difference when I look in the mirror (at least in my opinion haha) The only downside is the cost - $130 is Pretty steep for a 30 minute procedure that has to be re-done every 3-4 weeks. I would definitely get it monthly if it were in the $60-$80 range. read more

I've had lash extensions for nearly 4 years. My lash artist was booked so I scheduled a relash at DC Lash Bar. The artist was wonderful, extremely friendly, and professional. She was upfront about not being able to replicate the fullness of the technique I had from my regular lash artist and I was fine with that. The place is very clean and spacious. I only give 3 stars because the lash quality was lacking. My lashes shed by simply brushing them on the first few days, something I don't experience with my Lash artist. To pay $130 and have the lashes fall off my natural lash was very disappointing. The lash artist was so sweet in allowing me to come in for a touch up within 7 days but frankly I would rather wait it out till my next appointment so I could get better quality refills. It's a time commitment to get lashes done (and wait 2 days to not get them wet) and I didn't want to spend more time to simply reapply lashes I had just paid for. This was not the lash artist fault but rather the quality of the products and lashes. As someone who hasn't had bare lashes in 4 years, I have experienced a lot of different quality and I would have expected better retention from this place given the prices. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at DC Lash Bar! It was my first time receiving lash extensions and I couldn't be happier. The woman who applied my lashes was so friendly and she completed a full set of Classic lashes in less than 1.5 hours. My only "complaint" is that the website states you are able to charge gratuity on your credit card (although cash is preferred) but when I asked to charge the gratuity on my card, they told me I couldn't. I went to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash for a tip but, as luck would have it, the machine wouldn't take my credit card and the bank was closed since it was after 5PM. I felt terrible. I'm even considering mailing in the tip because I am so pleased with the results. While it's pricey, I will definitely be returning. read more

In the interest of being fair, I feel like I cannot rate this place less than a 3 because the tech I worked with was so nice and accommodating, but the quality of the service does not deserve a 3 star rating. I was excited to try the lash perm offered at DC Lash Bar and was happy that the old Nectar space was being put to such good use. I have to say, however, I am extremely disappointed in the lash lift/perm I received. The perm did not hold very well, and my eyelashes are uneven- the lashes on my left eye are much more permed than the lashes on my right eye. I have plenty of experience receiving this treatment, and have never had such an uneven perm. The price is also higher than usual for a lash perm, which only adds insult to injury. read more

This update reflects the effort DC Lash Bar put in to address the issues I wrote about in my initial review. After I posted it, Stephanie reached out via phone. She explained the tech problems that had led to the strange receipts and multiple charges, and also assured me that tech changes are underway at the studio to ensure that those sorts of errors don't happen again. She also offered me a refund, and clarified that that should have been offered from the start. A couple days later, Stephanie got back in touch again to verify that the refund had been properly processed as promised. I was very appreciative that the studio was proactive in reaching out, even after some time had lapsed since I was in for my last fill. It also seems like they are genuinely making every effort to fix the tech problems that led to all of the confusion. read more

After my previous review, Stephanie, one of the co-owners, got in touch with me. I appreciated her taking the time to go through everything that was mentioned in my preview. A little update from the shop, they got additional help at the front with more phone lines! No more being put on an indefinite hold. Woohoo!! I was also arranged to meet with Josie for another set of lashes. I wish I had asked for Josie for my first visit. She's good. Wait, scratch that, she's VERY GOOD! She's friendly, quick, precise, and she mixes lashes of different length to achieve that natural look. I still went for the natural set this time, and it sure is natural. It gave me a some length without trying too hard, or without looking like I had lashes done. I went for a photo shoot right after and it turned out great. The lashes also stay on very well. It's been 4 days since I had my extensions done by Josie, and I only lose maybe 2 lashes, both eyes combined!! So yes, this is definitely a place to go for extensions, and make sure you go for the person who knows how to work on your eyes as our eyes are all different. For me, that person is Josie!! :) read more

High quality, great work, love these ladies for extensions and lift + tints! They always do a great job

Clean. Crisp. Courteous. I luckily got an appointment booked within 24 hours. Whether you're new to falsies or a pro, this place has you covered. The "classic" is a more natural look, the "volume" is high drama and the hybrid is, well, a hybrid of the two! The lash artist will customize a look that works for you (volume and length). If you're interested in getting your money's worth without looking fake, try the hybrid. Give yourself 2 hours for the procedure and an extra 20 min. to find nearby parking. The salon itself is very relaxing and the staff are very friendly. Make sure you buy the Lash cleaning product available at the front desk on your way out - it lasts for a year or more! Not sure if I'll go back for a refill but now I can say I've tried this and I like what I see! read more

A few months ago, I went in for my very first-ever experience with lash extensions. I decided that a "classic" set would be the best suited to me. Though I definitely procrastinated on writing this review (very common for me!) I have nothing but positive feedback about my experience. From booking on through the appointment itself, I was made to feel like royalty. My technician Adrienne was very sweet, relaxing, and thorough. 2 hours flew by so quickly! I think I fell asleep too. Ultimately I decided that lash extensions were not for me. I did not enjoy the everyday upkeep that is necessary for any set of professional lashes... I am far too fuss-free for that. But this had nothing to do with the business. DC Lash is great! I'd recommend to anyone. I'm going to try the spray tan next... as soon as they open in 45 minutes (who's counting???) I'm going to book one. read more

I really wanted this to be a 5 star experience and even held off writing this review in hopes that I would have good things to say. But unfortunately I did not have a pleasant experience here. Let me start off with a few pros: - Great location! I was visiting a friend in DC and it was very convenient to get my lashes down and then hang around in the Georgetown area. - The girls at the front desk were very nice and friendly! - The technician was fast and I was able to get a classic in an hour. But here are the cons that really outweighed the pros: - The technician did not ask me how I wanted my lashes. Or discussed with me about what length I wanted. I had a couple remaining extensions, and so I asked her what length she was going to use, to which she replied "I'm going to use the one you have on now". And that was it. The end of the consultation. - I got my lashes done about 5 days ago. And my lash extensions have been falling off like crazy. I have had lash extensions for the past 2 years so I know how to take care of them. I also know how fast they should fall off. The retention rate of the lash extensions from DC Lash Bar is definitely the worst I have ever experienced. And because I was just visiting, I can't even go back to get a refill/fix. - The technician was very quiet (which is fine) but at the end, when I was leaving the place, and said thank you and good bye to everyone, she didn't even look up from her smoothie. The girls at the front desk, however, were very sweet. Very confused by the technician's attitude. - The price. A classic full set is $290. That is absolutely crazy! But because I was only in town for the weekend, I thought to myself - there must be some redeeming quality about this place that will explain the price. But as clearly seen above, there is little to match the price. read more

I was a little nervous/skeptical before getting lash extensions for the first time, wondering 1) Would the end result would look too "glam" for my style? 2) What really goes into the process, and would it impact my natural lash growth?? Thank goodness, Josie is a complete rockstar and professional. She patiently explained what's in the lash adhesive and what I could expect as far as lash retention goes - no, my lashes would not all fall out :). She also suggested a more natural look to fit my needs. I've had the lash extensions on for a little over a week now, and the results have been AMAZING. It's been a busy week for work travel, in and out of hotels and running to meetings. I feel "put together" on an early morning flight before I even put makeup on. My boyfriend can't even tell that that these aren't just my natural lashes when he looks up close; at the same time, I've received so many compliments on just generally looking great. Josie nailed it with the length and the look. Given the great location and the great team at DC Lash Bar, I will definitely be back. read more

I have very long but very straight eyelashes, so when I heard that lash lifts(perms) were a thing I couldn't wait to try it out. The first time I came here I had my appointment with Josie, the appointment was pretty quick (about 30 min) and easy and Josie was great to chat with. I was so happy with the results and couldn't believe the lash lift lasted about 6 weeks. About a year later I wanted to get a lash lift again before an upcoming photoshoot and I immediately booked an appointment with Josie. I couldn't wait to get my lashes lifted again. About 10 minutes before my appointment, while I was trying to find parking in Georgetown, I got a call from DC Lash Bar saying that Josie was late and asked if I could push back my appointment. I was already in Georgetown, so I told them that I would be in shortly and just wait until she got there. When I arrive they again told me that Josie was running late and asked if I wanted to wait or if I wanted to see another eyelash tech. I told them I would wait - I knew Josie had done a great job before and I didn't want to risk it with someone else. About 30-40 min later they told me I would HAVE to see someone else. I was hesitant but said okay as I had already wasted so much time and wasn't going to be able to make it back into georgetown again before the photoshoot. Then an elderly woman (Josie's mom?) came and brought me back to a different much smaller, closet-like room (not the same big room with lots of windows I was in previously). The woman didn't speak much english (not a problem at all) so there wasn't much chatting like with Josie. It took about an hour for the whole process this time. My lashes looked okay when they were done but the lash lift only lasted about 2 weeks. I was pretty disappointed about everything during my 2nd appointment. I scheduled my appointment with Josie for a reason. Josie does a great job but I'm not sure if I will go back as the girls at the font desk are pretty rude and I'm not confident in the work of the other eyelash techs. read more

I have been coming here for lash lifts for almost two years now. It's the first and only place I've ever gone for a lash lift, and I've been satisfied. My lashes are naturally straight and I like for them to be curled. I've gotten my lashes done by a bunch of different technicians here, and they all do a good job. They are meticulous and I don't think I can say I preferred any one technician's service over another. The cost is $90 though, which I've heard is a bit pricy. I just haven't done the research to discover if other places charge less and do as good of a job. I just come here because it's become my routine, booking is easy, and I know what to expect. They are usually very prompt and efficient. I've only had one issue with my appointment ever being delayed, but the situation was swiftly rectified. This place does have a pretty strict cancellation policy, so it was good to know that they were quick to accommodate me when I was inconvenienced. Overall this is a solid place to go to. read more

Went for a lash lift and tint, the service was amazing!! Everyone there is nice and accommodating. All covid guidelines were followed and I always felt safe. I have super long lashes but they are blonde and VERY straight. I decided to tint them brown. They turned out amazing! I love how my lashes look with mascara for a night out so I will still be adding some for occasions. As far as work, I don't need any mascara! I look more awake and my eyes look more open. Went for a brow shape and tint + lash consult. Was my first time. The brows are so dark it's embarrassing. I told the artist (started with a B- Barca??) that they were way too dark and she tried to lighten it but said if she made them lighter it would be faded in a few days. Huh? Are there only 2 options? Dark brunette and nothing?? I was so bothered by them I came back the next day and someone (very sweet- Harmon?) tried to lighten them too but despite multiple chemicals being applied, not much change (beside my eye area being red and irritated). I'd never done a brow tint and we never talked about color I just assumed they'd be the color of my eyebrows after using a pencil. I have red hair with lots of gold and my eye brows are all of a sudden dark brown/black. Needless to say, I'm not pleased. read more
