Not my usual venue for writing reviews, but it's well worthy of 5 stars!!..The wife has been getting here hair cut here for awhile and Mai does a fabulous job..she likes the fact even when her hair grows out after its cut, it looks the same..which is a sign of a good even hair cut..she always gets a lot of compliments on her hair at work from the customers and has recommend this place to them..now if only I could a photo of my wife for the review...umm..doubt that will fly!! read more

There's no menu posted so you'll have to haggle the price for your mediocre service.... I over heard the manager curse in Hindi as she was combing a white girls thick hair (I'm pretty sure she said "This b* hair is too tangly") ..... For my hair service, I told her what I wanted but instead she gave me what SHE thought would look good, and I'm very disappointed with it.I'm sure she would've fixed it but I'm not playing "correct your mistake" with my hair so I'm not going back. Lastly, they only give receipts if paying with cards (they said they don't write them for cash purchases, even upon request). Wow, it was terrible service. I never been hurt at a salon. There were two hairdressers and one was preoccupied. The other stylist skipped me twice. The first time she skipped me, I signaled to her that I was first as indicated in the sign in sheet. She nodded an understanding, "okay." She skipped me again, and the second person explained to her that I was next. The stylist said, "I don't know her." That does not excuse a stylist to me unfairly. After reading good reviews on google I decided to go to dc haircuts and I made a huge mistake by having a haircut there. I asked the lady to cut layers and showed her a photo for reference and asked her if she understood what I wanted and she said yes. After Half way through cutting my hair she asks another colleague of hers that I want layers which means she didn't know how to cut layers. She could have told me we don't know how to cut Layers in the beginning and I would have happily walked away.So another hairstylist joins her and another disaster added to my hairstyle. I repeatedly showed them the picture for reference and the length I want but they cut completely different hairstyle and by the time they completed cutting my hair the length of my hair was much shorter than I wanted.when they completed cutting and showed me how I looked,I told them my hairstyle looks nowhere near to the picture. The hairstylist tells me this is what u wanted. I showed her the picture again and at this point I can see both the hairstylists know they have made mistake. She again starts cutting my hair and tells me we can style your hair like the picture but it will cost $15 more.Are you kidding me? I told you in the beginning to cut my hair like the one in the pics and after cutting my hair so short she insits to cut my hair shorter.By the way the picture I Showed her was on long hair ,my hair was also long like the pics. If you want any hairstyle don't go there unless you want a boy cut.The hairstylists are completely clueless about any hairstyle for girls. Never going there again. read more

I am actually traumatized after visiting this place. I had long beautiful hair and I told the lady several times I just wanted a trim. Instead of one inch like I insisted, she chopped off 6 inches of my hair which took me years to grow. Afterwards she said "your type of hair looks good with this cut." FUCK YOU for thinking you have the right to decide what to do with my hair. It isn't even a good haircut, there are pieces of my hair that are only 2 inches long. I can't even put my hair in a pony tail because it's so short. Why did she cut the back shorter than the front? Who does that? I told her I wanted to keep my long hair. Period. And now it's going to take me a year to recover. I was too polite to say anything at the time, but when I called the next day and spoke to the manager, she insisted I needed to come back in to visit the same person to fix it. As if I'd ever let that woman go near me again. When I asked for a refund, she said "I don't think so, because she already took the money." Don't make a quick haircut something you'll regret and even cry over. Go to a real place, don't trust Chinatown. read more
