Just to preface -- I speak pretty good Korean and have very stereotypical Asian hair (dark, stick straight), which is definitely a plus for this kind of salon with a largely East Asian customer base, and definitely helps with communication. If you have different needs, or a drastically different hairstyle/hair type, I would recommend finding a salon that suits your needs better because obviously Asian people cut Asian hair well. All said, I loved being there. It felt like the Korean salons back at home (I'm from Chicago) but a large amount cleaner and way better organized. I had a great and super fun conversation with my stylist Younie and she did an excellent job with my hair, cut off no more and no less than what I wanted and she gained a customer for as long as I'm in the Austin area. First of all I'm Asian and I have a feeling that Korean hairdressers will be the best so I started looking for one that take walk in because it was urgent. I used to go to the other Korean hairdressers but she wasn't available that day. She was really good. I called before I walked in yesterday to make sure if they accept walk in and they available so I went there. I didn't have to wait they were nice she asked me if I like it a couple times but tbh I couldn't see because it far and i wasn't wearing my glasses. I got my hair washed quick. I showed her the VIDEO of what I want and she ok with it. Long story short I didn't like my hair but I don't want to tell them (my fault too, it kind of because they were so nice so I feel bad for them) but it really bothers me and disappointed. The service I done from the first visiting is: keratin and a half inch hair cut. The quality is absolutely satisfying, overall the experience was decent. I done my hair with Mrs. Lim, I was recommended her from my coworker. After the hair shop located inside of H mart ruined my hair, the same keratin service, in much much expensive pricing; it only lasted 3 days!!! (Which Keratin pressuring lasts at least 3 months up to half of a year!) The Keratin I done here now passing a week, my hair is still silky smooth and shiny. I had high hopes given the reviews. However, I was very disappointed with my cut. To be fair, I have very thick, dense, and slightly wavy hair, so this may apply only if you have similar hair texture. I asked for weight to be removed and requested that the top not be thinned as to become wispy, which was what happened with my last cut. Unfortunately, the hairstylist only trimmed my hair shorter (as requested) and only did some point cutting without removing any weight. I basically walked out with shorter but just as heavy hair with hardly any texturizing. The "curtain bangs" she gave me also came out uneven as she had another client waiting and had to hurry. When I went home, my significant other asked me why I was home as he thought I was getting my hair cut. Sigh.... read more

The salon itself is aesthetically pleasing and cozy, and rather than covering guests with the traditional plastic smock, Salon Lee uses Korean robes which I thought was a cute touch. I originally asked for full head caramel dye job, but after Lee explained bleaching would be necessary, I opted for caramel highlights instead to preserve the health of my hair. However, the quality and time efficiency of the job was so-so. I didn't end with the color I wanted and spent way too long at the salon. I understand Lee solely runs the business, but she took two other guests and even finished one of them while I was in the chair for 3.5 HRS. I made an appointment a week ago to get a hair cut and my roots colored. I have been here several times before so I was not worried. When I arrived they asked me to sit in the waiting area. I guess they overbooked because my hair color was applied while I was sitting in the waiting area. The last couple of times I came here my hair dye was applied at a salon chair and a machine was turned on to heat my hair (not sure what the machine does) During this visit I was left in the waiting area (which was very awkward) with my hair dye applied. This was very uncomfortable for me since I was the only one in the waiting area in this situation, everyone else was waiting for their turn or for their family. While waiting she never checked on me so I couldn't let her know how I felt. After 30 min she washed my hair and dried it. I had asked for root color and a hair cut, but she did not offer to cut my hair. At this point I just wanted to leave and did not pursue the hair cut. My total was $100. I cried in my car because I was so disappointed and had been looking forward to getting my hair cut and colored. I'm don't think I will be going back in the future after this experience. I used to go to visible changes, I liked my hairdresser there but she was pushing too many hair products every time I go, initially I was buying them but I wasn't even using them so was looking to change hairdresser, tried another place in cedar park and it was total disaster. Then through yelp reviews I would Ms lee, glad I did, I was bit hesitant as Ms lee had few reviews, but they were all good so decided to try. Getting appointment is easy, and Ms lee gave me a awesome layer haircut, I was completely satisfied and glad I went to her. This week Tuesday my husband took my son to great clips for his haircut and they totally screwed up, we had parties on Wednesday evening n Thursday and no way I could take him anywhere in that cut, immediately I thought of Ms lee and called her but she dint had any appointment available until Saturday evening. Then I explained her the situation and requested if anything changes or anyone cancels, to give me a call. to be honest I dint expect her call but she called Wednesday afternoon and I took my son, she was busy but still she managed to fit in my son and she did a miracle. This will be my go to haircut place, the owner is sooo sweet first of all, she cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it after showing her a TIKTOK and picture of it, and styled it like the picture I showed her.
