This company is great, they must hire great people. I was a customer for about 18 months and I never had an issue. The one time there was an issue, they contacted me to make sure everything is okay - That is great service preemptively contacting the customer - it was because I was on vacation, unplugged everything, and they noticed no flow of bits and bytes. The internet was fast, only time I noticed slow downs were when I was wake at 3am watching old episodes of Westworld and that seemed like routine maintenance stuff causing 5 seconds of buffering. The installation was fast, setting up the appointment was easy. The portal for payment was frictionless, so autopay is available and you can pay by almost any means. I moved into a building so I had to discontinue my service but if I every move back into a house I would sign back up in a heartbeat. read more

We've been with DC Access since 2011, and have been more than satisfied with reliable internet service, and I can't put too fine of a point on it, excellent and personal customer service. This is it at my home. I have a business in their service area, and for logistical reasons, am stuck with Verizon there. The problems with Verizon have been all too frequent, and when they occur, have ruined an entire week. I'm not exaggerating! On the flip side with DC Access; How great is it when you have a problem, call the business, and on the 2nd ring one of the owners answers the call. I'm not kidding, this recently happened! Great internet service! After years of unreliable Verizon DSL, absence of FIOS, and major trepedation of going to Comcast, we dropped all things Verizon and swithced to DC ACCESS. Should have switched to this years ago! With Verizon, we had to roboot our modem and router several times a day because of dropped internet connection, and my work computer couldn't stay connected more than 10 minutes with its VPN. But DC Access is perfect. We don't have to reboot, we alwyas have a connection, the streaming at 3 mbs is sufficient for Netflix, and my work computer stays connected like I'm in the office. Great quality of service. Friendly and accomodating installation. Happy to support a local business, and not the big telecoms. I haven't been so satisifed with a product for years! read more

I joined Yelp just so I could write a rave review about DC Access! I've had their service for a year now and they are fantastic. My boyfriend and I are moving and having to leave DC Access' service area is my greatest regret. They are incredibly nice and helpful. The service was fantastic and I never had an issue, even though we lived in a basement apartment. Our cell phones almost never worked in the apartment, but the internet was always fast and reliable in every room. I only ever had one problem, and I caused it by messing up my computer settings. I called DC Access and they walked me through the steps and fixed it in two minutes. Try doing that with any other internet provider! I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. We were both working from home when the Internet went out. I emailed them from my phone, they responded with emails and a phone call within 20 minutes of my email. They talked me through the troubleshooting steps, turns out that our router was the problem. They sent a technician who arrived inside of 30 minutes. His name is Matt and he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He replaced the antenna on the roof and switched out our router to a newer model, all of that took less than an hour. He then provided advice on other issues to increase our internet performance and recommended a product to secure our home office connections. Thank you Matt. This is my local ISP. Matt, the owner, is great. He works really hard to provide top notch service to his customers. Note that DC access only services Capitol Hill. He climbed on top of the roof to install my original wireless antenna, and came out to replace it when he had better ones available. You can call and talk to his partner, if he isn't in the office and he is always timely with getting back to you. The personal service outweighs any concerns about the actual internet service. I pay $29/month for 500 kb/s down and 200 kb/s up. Often enough to get VOIP to work, but not always. It's definitely better than dealing with an uncooperative and uncommunicative Verizon. They haven't been able to provide even basic land line telephone service reliably. read more

I recently moved into an English basement apartment on Capitol Hill, and my landlord asked that I use DC Access. I was skeptical at first, especially because I had used a major carrier for many years. DC Access is great! All my interactions with them have been the most painless of any interactions I've ever had regarding internet access. They are easy to contact, they show up when they say they will (no 4 hour windows that they arrive after), and they are professional and helpful. Pricing is so reasonable and straightforward, and you can upgrade at any point--I recently boosted my speeds to accommodate all the video conferencing. On a Friday evening, I sent an online request for a consultation, through their web portal. Was pleasantly surprised to receive a return call from Andrew on Monday. Just had DC access installed on the recommendation of another local business. Such a difference than with the major internet providers such as Verizon. Even before installing, Martha, the owner checked in with me to let me know that they had already installed in the building so things were likely to go smoothly. I was so tired of Verizon's erratic internet on a DSL line but didn't want to spend a fortune or deal with a large company. My neighbor recommended DC Access, and I switched as soon as I could. Six stars! It's always wonderful to hear from a service provider that they are available the same day. But it's even better when they call back to say that they are uncomfortable about how long your service will be out (a matter of a couple of hours) and could they "come earlier?".
