Stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday. Wife and I split the Marilyn plate. Sample of the 5 meats and 3 sides. Having grown up eating and cooking BBQ I do get pretty picky about BBQ. However, this place is spot on! Very impressed t=with the brisket and pulled pork. The turkey is some one of the best we've had! The potato salad was a mustard base with a hint of sweetness, perfect. The plate was probably a bit much for the two of us, but we were able to make a great breakfast with it the next day. Highly recommend this place. Fantastic food and friendly/fast service! read more

I don't mean like "hey come and meet my single daughter of consenting age" welcoming but enough to say hi and "try the ribs" except they were sold out of ribs so we had to suffer the brisket which is like saying, "hey I wanted the Beatles but you gave me the Stones" but not the decrepit 1990 stones but the '72 Beggars Banquet Rolling Stones which is where I would put this brisket: classy and classic yet a tinge intimidating. The bathroom was outside and behind the back, but ample enough for me to do my business without hitting my head on the low ceiling. I like the wood floors and walls. The first time we came we didnt see anything for our vegetarian daughter but he recommended another restaurant, which was super helpful. We did take out the next day, which was ready in 10 min. The ribs and pulled pork were delicious. My daughter, who's vegetarian, ate all of my beans accidentally because they were so good. Generous portions made it a 2 mealer. We were a little is disappointing that the place was closed. It was a Monday after all and some businesses are closed on Mondays. But the people of the town raved about this place so I wouldn't counted out due to my review! We will definitely be visiting again. I had the brisket tacos, hubby got the two meat with lean brisket and turkey. The meat is smoked with local mesquite wood and seasoned perfectly. The beans are very good too, so was the salsa, potato salad was solid. My only complaint is the tortillas were store bought, not made in house. Yes, it is expensive. More than you would pay pretty much anywhere else. I assume it's because Terlingua/Study Butte is in the middle of nowhere at the end of the supply chain. Was super excited to try BBQ in Texas for our first time, was running late and they were gladly accommodating to allow us to pick up to-go food right before closing which was super nice. We ordered two single meat plates with one side each and then a single meat with 2 sides. Both of the single meat brisket meals had much less meat than expected and we were missing a whole side that does with one of the meals plus the onions that go with it (at least the other one did). So we basically paid $24 per plate, $48 total before fees, to get probably 1/2lb of meat total and 1 side. The other plate of ribs came with about 5 but didn't have much meat on them. Maybe our fault for not thoroughly checking our boxes before leaving but unfortunately disappointed. Hopefully this isn't a commonly occurring theme, as we really wanted to like this place but felt it was GREATLY overpriced for what we got. read more

Do not get deceived by the google reviews. The meat there is chewable at best. The meats are not smoked daily, they seem to be sold in OLD batches, and you can taste it - scraps. Don't waste your time and money. If I say anything positive about this place - they are in the happening area of town. Otherwise, good luck. read more

Really good food at the Terlingua ghost town. We have eaten at several places in the Terlingua area the past several days, and DB's was by far the best. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. We really enjoyed the brisket, barbacoa, turkey and sausage. The sauce was also quite good. This is my top pick in the Terlingua area. Our camp host said this was the best BBQ she's ever had so knew we had to try it. When we arrived, the gentleman behind the bar (super great guy) who also takes the orders recommended the Marilyn plate that comes with a sample of all 5 meats and 3 sides, the better deal when considering the other plates with 2 or 3 meats.... We did it even though it was $49 plus our beer. The food is a definite 5, very flavorful, fall off the bone tender meats with a very tasty BBQ sauce on the table that is not too sweet. I did feel a bit swindled by the high cost of our meal, over $60 when we barely put a dent in the meal. Hmmm, my own fault for not more carefully assessing the menu. Overall, he was a great guy, loved the vibe, live music, and friendly food servers. Would definitely go again if in the area. Will have at least 3 meals out of this one! read more

DB's was recommended to us while on a river tour with Far Flung Tours - we love BBQ and were delighted to hear other rave about it. We were not disappointed!! My boyfriend is a bit of a food snob but he loved everything. We shared a four meat plate with two sides and it was literally the perfect amount. We did double brisket and pork ribs because they were out of turkey! It was delicious, the ribs were rubbed with plenty of pepper and the brisket was so moist!
