Don't bother asking the owner for suggestions. She says it's up to you on what toppings to include. I was expecting traditional tater tots, but it's more like a smashed baked potato. If I had known I would have added mushrooms. However, it was just the right portion and very filling. It's a customizable Baked Potato which you can load (like... really load) with toppings like Mushrooms, Broccoli, Jalapenos... in addition to all the typical Baked Potato goodies. We also took a trio of Tacos. The Tacos weren't impressive- very simple and not really authentic. The Texas Tater was more impressive- almost like a collision of flavors perfect for a hangover YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL OUT THERE This little building is in north Alpine past all the regular businesses. There's no place to dine inside however there's a couple of tables under the shade out front. We enjoyed our food with a nice view of the simple nature stretched out in front of the restaurant. Adorable little roadside stop. Their tacos are delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Their brisket sandwich was as good as any I have tasted in any brick and mortar restaurant. Definitely recommend stopping here for a bite to eat on a road trip through Alpine Texas! read more
