The brisket sandwich with jalapeño spread was very good. The brisket was chopped and covered in a tasty homemade sauce, while the jalapeño spread added the perfect amount of heat and a nice smoky flavor. It came with a side of hand-cut fries that were delicious. Our server suggested getting the fries covered in Hatch chile queso, and honestly, that may have been the star of the show. I'm not sure queso-covered fries are part of any recognized food group, but they should be. We also ordered the fried catfish basket, and it was very good as well. The fish tasted fresh, and the cornmeal batter was exactly what you'd expect from good Southern-style catfish. Even the house-made coleslaw was a pleasant surprise, which is saying something because coleslaw is usually the side dish everybody politely ignores.
