Enchiladas with rice and beans; my dad got the fish tacos plate (comes with four small tacos)

This is a taste little spot in Study Butte and convenient because there aren't a huge number of restaurants by any means. Will start by saying I had the best piña colada I think I've ever had here - and according to the hostess they just got the machine for it and had been playing around with the recipe that day! They nailed it! The food itself was pretty decent too; we were very hungry so everything tasted good but for the prices it was overall a good idea I think. I would come back if staying in the area and visiting big bend again :)

Warm chips, spicy salsa and green chili queso...all yum. 12/6/25

Came here b/c of the many recommendations online and was happy we did. The service was on point. There was only one server working and she handled 1 table of 1, 2 tables of 2 (including us) and a 20-top of motorcyclists with the quickness. They do not have complimentary chips and salsa, but glad we ordered them. Hub ordered quesadillas and the serving size was ginormous. They will substitute red or green sauce on the menu to Christmas style (both sauces).

Following an adventure at Big Bend National Park, I checked into a hotel near Paisano Village RV Park & Inn, which boasted awesome rooms. After dropping off my bags, I headed to the restaurant. Upon entering, I was seated promptly, ordered sparkling water, and looked over the menu. I opted for the Mexican Plate to sample a bit of everything. The meal was filling, but it was just okay, as was the ambiance. Mexican Plate - B

Great spot on the way into Big Bend. Was staying in an AirBNB just down the road so stopped in twice for dinner. It was super quiet with only 1 or 2 other tables. Food came out quick and was a good portion for the price. Definitely worth a shot if you just want something laid back and chill.

How does this place have more than an "OK" rating? 1. There's not many choices in Trelingua 2. There are YELPERS who give 4 star reviews along with advice to clean up dead flies! C'mon Man! Beef Piccadillo: small chunks of beef browned with peppers and onions, side of rice and refried. Two tortillas. Only Two (2). I'd have liked FOUR (4), but with the horribly high tortilla prices, didn't want to seem greedy!!!! May have cost another $0.25?! It's always annoying to be served a dish clearly meant to fill tortillas, and then get shortened on the tortillas:( Ambiance is Zero. No music, only a brightly lit room full of glum diners. Service was ok. I did not see dead flies.

Ate here twice while visiting the area for a week of outdoor adventures at Big Bend. Nice, quiet restaurant with small town rustic desert charm and very tasty food. I ate the Mexican Plate both times to fuel up after full days of hiking mountains and deserts. Amazing value for $13.50! The place is seat yourself. Staff is funny and very laidback. Come for the food and beer and just enjoy the slow desert vibes.

A Terlingua dive but a new tradition for us. I had the Tacos All Pastor. The uncooked tortillas were dry but soft. but better be hesitant as they were hot from the grill! The seasoned meat was tender and tasty, the salsa was mild & tasty so I finished the bowl with my spoon. . Our Owner/server was prompt and friendly. She was a bit stressed as one of her staff didn't come in so she was doing 2 jobs. Wife had cheese enchiladas w onions - excellent! Remember you are in Terlingua. Kick back and enjoy. As we did.

It is easily the heartbeat of the area, offering a dining experience that perfectly captures the eclectic, rugged, and friendly spirit of West Texas. Be prepared this place is popular for a reason. Wait times can easily reach the two-hour mark, but don't let that deter you. The trick is to put your name in first, then immediately pivot to "vacation mode." Grab a drink and an appetizer from the bar and head outside. The porch and the surrounding area become a lively social hub where locals and tourists mix seamlessly. The atmosphere is what truly sets Starlight apart. While we were waiting for our table, a couple of locals claimed the large bench right outside and broke into a spontaneous, spirited rendition of The Jungle Book theme songs! It was pure magic. My kids were completely enthralled by the performance, which turned a long wait into one of the highlights of our trip. It gave my husband and me the perfect window to relax with our drinks and soak in the desert air. The food lived up to the hype of the setting: Smoked Brisket Queso: This is an absolute must-order. It's rich, smoky, and the perfect fuel for a Ghost Town evening. Prickly Pear Margarita: Vibrant, delicious, and refreshing it's the quintessential West Texas cocktail. The Main Course: We ordered a variety of kid-friendly items and the Brisket Tacos. While everything we ate was delicious, be aware that their famous Texas Mesquite Smoked Brisket is in high demand they had unfortunately run out by the time we were seated, so get there early if that's your primary goal! The Starlight Theater isn't just a restaurant; it's an event. Between the incredible live local interactions, the "only-in-Terlingua" scenery, and the solid food and drink, it is a 5-star experience. Just remember: arrive early, bring your patience, and keep an ear out for the music!

The place doesn't open until 5 pm and on 3 separate days when I drove by at 4:30, there was a line to get in. On the 3rd day we decided to wait in said line. It moves fast. We ordered a few Boquillas Scorpion Margaritas to start. This is basically a normal margarita on the rocks but with a paper clip like mini scorpion placed on the side. This is named after the little art pieces found near the Boquillas area. Cool souvenir! We also got some chili as appetizers that was delicious. I wanted to order the chicken friend antelope as an entree but chickened out and got an antelope burger instead. It was great. I wanted to see some live music, but we ended up here on comedy night. Comedy night was fine, but I wanted to feel the vibe of the area and hear some honky tonk type music. So, if you go check the schedule for live music nights to get the whole experience.

Talk about small town charm with big city quality food…read more I'm in town for work and I was recommended this place by a state trooper who had to remind me of the speed limit on my way from Austin. The first morning I tried it out, I have been back everyday since. It starts with the staff. You enter and seat yourself and Bertha is with you almost immediately with a huge smile on her face and the softest sweetest voice. It's a small town and slower paced but the food arrives quickly. Now I'm not going to lie, this isn't a Michelin star restaurant and I actually prefer it that way out here. The quality and flavors are perfect, not exaggerated deconstructed nonsense. The food is made with love and the tortillas are made fresh in house. I'm pretty sure everything is made fresh and from scratch but the tortillas are for sure. The owner is usually in and has introduced himself and said hello starting the second time I've come in. If you're in the Big Bend area, specifically Presidio, stop in and say hello to Bertha and get some good food that isn't crazy expensive. I forgot to mention, they sell bagged ice if you're in need and they don't have bs single ply toilet paper in the restroom either. HUGE plus I'm my book.

Got the green sauce chicken enchiladas. Geez, perfect in every way. Most restaurants save their dried out chicken for the enchiladas, this place doesn't.
