Norm did my home inspection for DBL Check. He did an amazing job that saved me thousands of dollars on repairs that would have been needed on my new home! He took a lot of time to do the inspection and spent a lot of time with me explaining his findings. He had some very cool high tech tools to check the foundation, electrical and insulation of the home. He was a pleasure to work with and even called me days later to see I needed anything else. I would highly recommend DBL Check. Rob read more

Thorough. Prompt. Excellent communication. Aaron was the inspector for our new home. He has a great eye for detail, and took time to explain what he was looking for, and what his findings were to me while going through the inspection (which added to the time he had to spend on site). He found a number of things, big and small. He made sure to not alter the condition of the house; for example, there was a panel to access an attic where it was sealed. He pointed out that this was not to code, but that he couldn't cut through to access the attic. Since he could no longer get into the attic, he switched to using thermal imaging to gauge the state of the insulation in the attic. He loves technology and employs it well; pictures, thermal images, measuring the slope of the floor. I found him to be naturally curious, so when he encountered unexpected things, he inferred possible causes (always recommended following up with an expert). Scheduling is done via their website, I received follow ups before inspection. Reports are emailed the evening of inspection. Important since time is critical in the option period. read more

I was fortunate to work with Allan, who inspected the condo my partner and I purchased in South Austin. From the second I scheduled an inspection in their easy-to-use online system, Allan was a rockstar--flexible on timing when we needed him to be, and patient when we had to reschedule the inspection several times due to initial offers on houses falling through for all kinds of random reasons. The report I got back from him and the folks at DBL Check was tremendously helpful and timely for the new build we purchased, and made going to the builder with asks for touch-ups a breeze (Allan took pictures of all issues he identified and included these in his final report--very high tech, which i appreciated). I also purchased a separate mold panel for the home, and DBL Check really impressed me with the comprehensiveness associated with it. They were able to dive deep and locate the potential allergens in the new home (so it went way beyond mold and was definitely worth the extra money). Can't say enough how pleased I was with DBL Check's work in general and Allan's in particular. These folks totally rock, and I'll be using them for our next home purchase . . . and the next. read more

Easy to schedule. They were flexible. Great company to work with and very thorough inspection.

Definitely recommend this business! I am going through the home buying process and we all know how crazy the Austin market is, so in order to secure the contract we are going for a short close. Had a 5 day option period and really needed someone thorough to come out on short notice. Aaron called me after I somehow did not complete the appointment request form accurately and we got it all set up. He answered my questions and talked about pricing and was going to come out himself, but then Patrick was able to find time in his schedule. Patrick was there for several hours and had a report the very next morning with a ton of really useful information and pictures. Not anything that we were going to use to negotiate on price, but we are going to print this out and go through and fix everything that we can once we take occupancy. So useful! He was also very helpful via email correspondence when we had more questions. read more

DBL was on time for the service, and was very thorough. After the inspection, we went over all the pictures and all my questions were answered. The pdf file is very useful to me to prioritize the work. I wish I had known that some areas wouldn't be looked at because there were items in the way, I would have taken the time to make sure all areas were free of obstruction. The garage wasn't reviewed because the shelves had things on them. read more

Had DBL Check do a complete home inspection. Patrick performed full inspection of interior and exterior. He is very knowledgeable, detail oriented and great communicator. Gave me detailed report including photos and took the time to fully explain all things he found from potential issues to fix me now issues. Also encouraged me to ask questions during entire process. After getting full report, he did follow up call to me to see if I had any more questions. Feel he and DBL Check went beyond my expectations with entire inspection process....also a very fair price. They are now my "go to company" for any inspections I need in future. read more

I called DBL Check to schedule an inspection on a home I was under contract on. My option period was shorter than usual and they were able to send someone out the next morning. Jason, the inspector, was very knowledgeable and informative on the day of the inspection and explained much of what we was looking for and finding on the spot. He prepared the report quickly and it was incredibly detailed and included photographs and recommendations. Overall I'm very happy with the service DBL Check provided and will use them again in the future. read more

Aaron provided very thorough and professional service. The inspection report on a duplex that we went in contract with was very detailed and indicated what needed to be further checked and handled prior to option period ends, which protected us home buyers from buying a house with serious issues. We ended up not buying the duplex that's inspected by Aaron. Honestly, it's a relief when we made the decision to walk away since it needed a lot more repairs than we expected. We wouldn't have known it without Aaron's report. We will be working with Aaron again for our next pick! read more

I can't recommend Allan and the DBL check team highly enough. Extremely thorough, detailed, responsive, and take the time to explain everything all in a fast turnaround. He was available for all of my follow up questions and made this an easy process. read more

Patrick is a great inspector. He was extremely meticulous with our inspection. He took the time to explain all of his findings and recommendations to us. He found important items that would have ultimately cost us thousands down the line. We highly recommend him. read more

THIS IS THE BEST INSPECTION IN AUSTIN AREA! we very much appreciate Aaron and Jonathon (our inspector) time and professionalism. We are in the process of buying a house and I came across DBL Check through a friend recommendation; we also see an example of their work when we were selling our house and the buyer had them for inspectors. They are fantastic, yes absolutely they are professional, detailed oriented, a great team of well-trained (by Aaron I believe!) professionals BUT ALSO they are nice people who actually care to help you in the stressful process of buying/selling house! We feel our money is well spent and they have done a great job with seeing the details....as everyone said they are DETAILED and COMPREHENSIVE. Thank you Jonathon for being so nice, timely, detailed inspector and calling introducing yourself and making sure we made it to our appointment even though we got into an accident on our way to you and thank you Aaron for being so on time in returning our calls and accommodating our needs! Thank you Allan for calling us and introducing us to Jonathon.....you guys are a GREAT team! In sum: this is THE BEST in Austin, if I could give ten starts I would have, fair, efficient, comprehensive, detailed, honest and ethical.....GO DBL Check for any inspection buying or selling! And last, I wish you all the very best, keep up the good work and your awesome helping spirit! Nazgol and Steve read more

Jason Henley from DBL Check inspected a house that I have under contract. He was very thorough, pleasant and clearly knows his stuff. I also liked that he provided a balanced assessment, putting the myriad of issues he found into context. I am an experienced home buyer but even so, seeing a thorough inspection report can be daunting. I was well prepared for the long list, though, because Jason gave me a verbal summary and explained the necessary fixes. I received the report in less than 24 hours, and it contained color photos and very detailed descriptions of deficient items. He then went above and beyond when he came back the next day to inspect the roof that was difficult to access. It doesn't hurt that Jason is personable and fun to be around, because you should be prepared to spend several hours with him. He does not rush the inspection! Very pleased! read more

Thank you! It was important to me to find an inspection company that was not only objectionable but detailed and very thorough. Double Check is just that! Jason was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I appreciated the great lengths he went through to check (and double check) the home. Also, thank you for being so informative as I followed you around during the inspection - Jason spent a lot of time explaining each task and answering my questions; I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. Even a few days after the inspection report was sent, both Jason and Aaron took the time to go over the inspection report with me. I'm fairly green to home maintenance/repair so I very much value the time and knowledge they shared with me. Double Check was referred to me by a co-worker, and I will definitely be recommending this company to all my friends and family. Trusting a company is important and you guys definitely more than earned my trust! Thank you!!! read more

I hired DBL check after reading their reviews and being recommended from another professional in the construction field. Aaron was very informative about the process and explained what I could expect from the inspection service. It was very easy to make an appointment and Norm went out a few days later to do the new home inspection. Norm called me before the appointment, told me what he will be checking and that he would call me afterwards to let me know how it went and that he would follow up with the written inspection in 24 hours. Sure enough, he called after the inspection and discussed the items he found and within the promised 24 hour timeline to receive the written report it was in my email. These guys are truly pros and a pleasure to deal with. Don't look any further and make the call to get your home inspection by Aaron and his fine team. Thanks guys. read more

Daniel was so knowledgeable and patient. He stayed long after the inspection was completed to show and review with us his findings. We booked him for our day before closing inspection on the spot. Great experience for us first time home buyers. read more

Searching Yelp for a home inspector, and seeing all the rave reviews for Dbl Check, I decided to go with them for an inspection on a home, as first time home buyers, we were under contract to buy. It was the best decision I could have made. Daniel was extremely professional and thorough and I truly felt like I was in good hands. They were able to get in right away (closing was going to be in 4 weeks), and Daniel checked every nook and cranny of the property, including taking tons of pictures of all areas of concern. He then took as much time as needed to explain what he did, what he saw and what he felt could wait, or should be repaired immediately. Because of his inspection, my husband and I had a clearer picture of what we were possibly getting ourselves into (and it wasn't good lol). Daniel and Dbl Check saved us thousands of dollars, tons of time, and saved me from making a purchase that for us, would have been foolish. I cancelled the contract on that home, while we had the time and told Daniel that we will DEFINITELY be contacting him and Dbl Check for another inspection, once we find our home. Do yourself a huge service and book your home inspection with Dbl Check. They are awesome. Thanks again Daniel!!!! read more

Alan was excellent! I got an appointment easily and the whole process was very smooth!

Norman was very professional and punctual. He was very thorough and made himself available to go through items in the report.

Not a Sellers Inspection! Very through and detailed report; however a Seller's Inspection had been requested. The report made constant references to have things further evealuated in the "option period". Probably a copy and paste from previous reports (as there were other parts with text pasted in twice), or lack of attention to what was requested. My comment to the company in this respect was responded with an excuse that there are "state requirements" and they could not provide a specific Sellers Inspection - something they overlooked to explain when initially requested to do a Sellers report. Probably fine for a Buyers Inspection - but everything appeared to be deficient, including closet door tracks. So all this attention to detail in the inspection but a report that is definatley geared toward a buyer. read more

Cannot sing the praises high enough. Patrick is the guy you NEED if you are looking into buying a new home, or simply want a soup to nuts breakdown of your current. He saw everything, and the report itself is the most thorough and detailed imaginable, while still being very readable and easy to understand. He took tons of time getting it right, and in walking us through his inspection after. They have five stars for a reason. Don't consider any other company for this job. read more

Fast and extremely thorough. Norm spent hours on a very hot summer day thoroughly inspecting everything from roof to foundation, places that needed paint and sealant, failing weather stripping from the attic, and unexpected mismatches in the design of the irrigation system and the later additions of fencing and gardens. We had sprinkler heads buried under landscape plastic and sprinkler heads trapped directly under the added fencing. My home is a major investment, and this one, though only 6 years old, needs TLC. I'm glad that I'm beginning my next episode of home ownership with the DBL Check inspection in hand. read more

Roughly a decade ago I purchased my first home. To this day, I regret having hired the poor excuse of a home inspector that inspected that home. He missed so many issues, many of which were easily identifiable. Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have purchased that home. Fast forward to 2014. I am currently in the process of buying my second house. Although I am cautious of online reviews, I decided to go with DBL Check and I am very glad I did. DBL Check sent out two inspectors. One focused on the outside of the house whereas the other focused on the inside. After the inspection, they walked my wife and I through every little issue they identified, with photos illustrating their explanations. They also advised us on what was normal for a house that age, versus what needed attention. Frankly, I'm not sure what is normal as I don't get a home inspection very often... but compared to the guy that inspected my first home, these guys were rockstars. Very friendly, yet professional. Their written report was also excellent. I think it was 60 pages long, with color photos illustrating all of their findings. Lastly, they advised me on some simple fixes I could do myself to address some of the issues... read more

Very thorough and professional inspector who found issues in our newly constructed home where we couldn't have imagined any issues. The inspector for this company even agreed to do a re-inspection after the builder fixed issues and we are glad that we did it because there were a few pending issues that they hadn't paid any attention to. Completely satisfied with their excellent customer service and attention to detail!!! read more

My wife and I are buying a house and needed to get a Home and Pool inspection. I am moving from another state and am doing all this remotely. We were given a few sources from our agent who claimed to have no preference or bias to any company. We looked these companies up and did research through yelp. We found DBL randomly through our search and saw reviews from previous customers. My wife and I decided this seemed like a quality company. I, being in the service industry have a great expectation of quality customer service. Oré set the standard right away. He called before he started the inspection, he asked me questions regarding any concerns or focus points he wanted me to have him look at, he was very professional, yet personable. We discussed that I am out of state moving there and that I have not even personally seen the house except through face time, only my wife. He realized immediately that this was a different situation than maybe most and took charge of the conversation and gave me a comfort that WELL EXCEEDED my expectations. Our agent was with him the whole time and reported he was very thorough and professional. I believe Oré went beyond a normal call only to make his customer feel comfortable with this whole process. His report was extremely detailed, incredible pictures of all detailed findings (good or not good). I would recommend DBL Check at the drop of a hat and I will be sending them a huge thank you for their employee Oré. read more

I was able to get an appointment with DBL on fairly short notice. Norm came out and did a really thorough inspection. His explanations were clear and easy to understand. He also did me a huge favor by coming by a second time without charging me because my builder didn't put the gas meter in in time. I'm going to hire him again to come out and make sure the builder does the repairs correctly. read more

Norm came out to inspect our home on short notice (on a Sunday, no less) during an option period on a home that needed a considerable amount of work. He exceeded our expectations and ended up extending his visit far beyond the allotted time slot to make sure we felt comfortable with his analysis. His report and his generosity with time and advice helped us clarify our decision-making process and we will happily recommend Norm to friends and colleagues. Thanks! read more

Jason Henley and Aaron were invaluable in the purchase of our new home. We heard through a recommendation that they had great reviews on Angie's List so we called them to come and inspect a home we were purchasing. They worked it out so they were able to come out during our contract option period. They showed up on time and completed a very thorough inspection. We are so grateful they did because they found so many problems and we were able to get out of the money pit that house would have become. Since then, we put a bid on another house and of course we called Jason and Aaron right away. They, once again, arrived on time and gave us the most extensive and comprehensive inspection. And I love that they took the time to explain everything in the inspection. They really exceeded our expectations and were polite, trustworthy, and professional. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company and specifically Jason and Aaron to come and inspect your new home. read more
