Bought a 2nd property and they quoted me a price that included a separate fee for a pool inspection. I was VERY clear that the prior owner had drained the pool and I was aware of a crack and that it looked bad, but I needed a real inspection done to identify the specific issues. They said they would do that. I said okay. I then got a report that simply said that there was no power to pool equipment and to get somebody else to inspect it. They then repeatedly said the pool looked bad and had cracks with no specific info of identifiable problems or any new info at all, and to GET ANOTHER INSPECTION FROM SOMEBODY ELSE. The house had power. The equipment is connected to the pool. All he had to do was flip the breaker to get power to it. Regardless, since I was given no new info and was told to get somebody else to inspect it because apparently this company isn't capable of doing a pool inspection despite charging for pool inspections, I simply asked for a refund for the pool part of the inspection. I was then ignored for days, and then told no because they had done it when all they did was recommend getting somebody else to inspect it. No equipment was tested. No new info was added beyond what we had told them and knew already. I have 20 properties and have gone through this process with a ton of inspectors. Never have I had an inspection company screw me over to keep roughly $100 in this manner. Maybe use them for a basic inspection of the general house, but every single add on inspection for sprinklers, pools, etc is a complete scam where they will tell you to get a real inspector to look at it while charging you for that advice.

This was not an inspection -- it was a drive-by. He missed obvious, widespread tile floor cracks throughout the house, issues so visible it's hard to believe they were "overlooked" at all. When I asked him to come back and re-inspect his own miss, he had the nerve to say it would cost another fee. Because of this incompetent inspection, I lost $5,000 backing out of the home. This company didn't protect me, they cost me thousands. Total waste of time and money. This is a bullshit company with zero accountability. If you don't want expensive surprises after you're under contract, stay far away. You will absolutely regret hiring them. Never recommended.

Highly recommend Fidelity Home Inspection, LLC. 20 Feb 2026: Another job well done by Fidelity Home Inspections. This time, I had Michael Street come and inspect my roof. I had (redacted) Home Roofing come by last week for a roof inspection and a quote. After 4 hours of convincing (torture), that roofing company was able get me to sign a contract for a new $49k roof. After some research on (redacted) home roofing, I canceled the contract the following day, but that experience left us shook. The inspection that Michael did was money well spent, and then some. Gave me the peace of mind that I did the right thing canceling that contract for a $49k unnecessary roof replacement, and he also offered some great advice regarding the settling of our home, foundation, and drainage.

It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc.

After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

One thing I really appreciated was that they identified a honey bee colony on my property. Instead of simply treating it, they let me know so I could have the bees safely rehomed before they started producing honey inside my walls. That level of care and attention really stood out. The quarterly exterior treatments have been well worth it for me. Wasps and ants are a recurring issue around my home, so keeping up with regular service has made a big difference. If I have a specific problem between visits, like a wasp nest, they're quick to come out and take care of it. Most of what I need is included in the annual service. Mosquito treatment is an additional charge, but that's separate from the standard plan. I also appreciate that they don't push unnecessary interior treatments when there aren't any issues. Their pricing is competitive, and their payment and scheduling system is excellent. It's easy to manage appointments, and they're very responsive by text whenever I have a question or need service. Overall, I've been very happy with Atex and would definitely recommend them.

First off, I rarely review anything but felt this one was worthy. Our realtor recommended Norm from DBL Check to do the inspection for a duplex off of North Lamar that we were looking at. The pricetag for their service was a little higher than we wanted but we trusted that she had our best interests at heart, so we went ahead with it. Norm was a godsend! He helped us identify so many deficiencies that I didn't notice (and I work in the construction industry). Afterwards we were able to price out all of the repairs needed on the house with a spreadsheet and the total tally ended up being double what I originally thought it would be (probably would have been a money pit). So thankful. I think he ended up spending 5 hours checking those 2 units out and then gave my wife and me a detailed overview of everything with photos. It was clear that he had lots of experience in the various trades, and he was generous to share his knowledge so we could make an informed decision. We ended up walking from that one, and felt relieved afterwards. A month later we ended up using Norm again, and his thorough inspection has been so helpful to us as we navigated the unknown waters (first time home buyers). The full inspection report (almost 40 pages!) of all the issues came super quick- we only had a 5 day option period. Bottom line: if you want someone who will go to bat for you as a buyer, then Norm is your guy. We crawled under the house together, he squeezed into the attic (which was around 150 degrees), checked all of the foundation levels throughout the house, thermal imaged each room to see leaks, thoroughly checked all plumbing, electrical, structural, hvac, drainage, etc. He was patient enough to let me bother him with 20 questions as he did his business and follow him around (I left him alone on the 2nd house lol) If you read this Norm, we're both mighty grateful for your supreme attention to detail and all of your patience with us. You are truly providing a valuable service to help folks like us dodge potential money pits. Thanks again! read more

Double Check offers a great service for a great price. I did a lot of research before contracting with them since I had been burned in the past. This inspection was for a new build nearing the end of our warranty period. Jason Henley did our inspection and he was fantastic! Jason is very knowledgeable, professional, interactive and detail oriented. He welcomed questions during the inspection process, sent his report promptly, and called to see if we were having any issues with our builder regarding the inspection findings. I was not familiar with thermal imaging but so glad I had it done. This is one of the few companies that offers this service. We had a problem with one of the bedrooms not cooling and had had the HVAC company out twice to "fiddle" with our dampers. Turns out the duct work had a tear in two different areas, and we were paying for "climate controlled storage" in our attic! The builder had the problem corrected and we NOW have a cool bedroom after a year! Jason also found issues with the grounding of the gas line- YIKES!!!, issues with the roof, the wiring in the HVAC system, and the list goes on!!! He also measured the elevation of the slab throughout the home to ensure the foundation was stable and now we have this for future reference. Boy, Jason sure saved us on this inspection!!! I don't even know where to start when it comes to expressing how much help Aaron was to me! Dealing with the possibility of mold in a home is overwhelming. Long story short, I contacted Aaron for a second opinion on whether or not our home showed traces of black mold. Before even officially hiring Aaron to complete anything, he was SO helpful and walked me through the steps that would be beneficial for me to take before getting him to come out. Aaron was able to take a look at the initial report that claimed black mold, with me on the phone and took the time to point out things that were not consistent/inaccurate. Fast forward, I was able to reach out to him after getting other things done and what do you know, his report came back with no black mold! Regardless of the findings, taking a look at how thorough Aaron's report was, was enough to make me feel like this was a good investment either way. As a customer, from the start, it felt as though he genuinely cared and was not out for the business/money. That is someone who personally, I would choose 10x over to do business with. He has always been super responsive and kind! I think he knows this, but I hope I don't have to reach out to him for any more of these issues, but if I do, I'm glad to know who my family can trust! read more

I am purchasing a new in TX as I just moved from Colorado I wanted/needed a 3rd party inspection to put my mind at ease and DBL Check had so many great reviews I had to call and Aaron was very professional & knowledgeable over the phone so I booked them for the next day. Allan (inspector for my home) was very nice and walked me through everything he was looking at and why. For a new home, he did find several things that I would have never caught myself. Now when I have my walk through with the builder I can point these things out to get fixed. I will be calling DBL back for the 1 year warranty walk. Ore' was incredibly professional and extremely thorough. My husband and I are new to homeownership and Ore' was so helpful in answering questions for us about taking care of our home! His report was very detailed and contained a large number of helpful pictures and explanations of what to look for. The infrared images of walls and pipes highlighted several places where seals would need replaced soon, but also showed no visible insect trails or pipe leaks in the walls--absolutely worth it for peace of mind! Aaron "Doublecheck" Calhoun was extremely thorough for our most recent home inspection. While sitting at the closing table we had a lot of confidence in our large purchase because of the time, care and attention Aaron had given our home. Since we used VA financing we were required to provide a termite inspection and it was very convenient that Aaron could provide that for us as well. If I could rate 5 million stars I would! I can not communicate strongly enough on how pleased I am with the professional and thorough inspection I received from Jason at DBL Check. His report was amazing , clear up close photos with notes explaining the repairs needed. Nothing got past him. Jason also has the best personality!! He gave us a 23 page report and told us there is nothing wrong. HOWEVER, 3 years now when we try to sell the house the buyers inspector gave us a 97 page inspection report stating many problems( majority of those were already there when we bought the house but not on our initial inspection report) . It now leaves us at a very unfavorable position as seller.
