Ok, so my husband and I rotate between which Chico coffee shop we like the best, and lately Daycamp has been finding itself at the top of our list lately. I think if it came down just to the coffee itself, we like Brave over on Mangrove. BUT, when you factor in the seating area and overall vibe, Daycamp is hard to beat. They've got so much space and many seating options like counters, chairs, couches, little tables, an upper mezzanine area, whatever you want. The windows allow in a ton of light and make the whole place feel very open, inviting, and airy. The baked goods are just ok (with the exception of the chocolate chip cookie which was very good), but the few specialty drinks we've had (my husband likes the frozen hot chocolate) have been great. I'm boring and always go for plain drip coffee, so the fact they roast their own coffee and is has been consistently great EVERY time we've gone is what really sells this place for me. This local coffee shop is a perfect combination of small town hospitality and edgy aesthetic. For someone with high expectations when it comes to coffee, I was really pleased with the cold brew they offered. One area of improvement is offering a wider range of flavor syrups but I could easily work with what they've got. Had Daycamp for the first time yesterday. My brother picked it up for us and he said they are doing a great job with cleanliness and safety there. I had a cold brew that was so delicious. I normally add some cream but this one was so good I didn't even want cream added. Really smooth perfect flavor! My brother has a delicious cappuccino! They have a great set up and you order from outside. So if you have young kids and are doing things like drive thru coffee chains to avoid going indoors, but would rather support small and local businesses this is perfect. read more

I came back to Daycamp to try their iced coffee(I don't like their drip) and their avocado toast, which I've heard is good. The toast was fantastic, but they are the only coffee shop in town that makes you pay full price for a refill of iced coffee. Shame on them. It's essentially drip coffee, just charge a dollar like everyone else. read more

I live too far away, but I visit Chico sometimes. Daycamp always has the best dark roast coffee I think I've ever had - that's in 50 years of drinking coffee! The few pastries I've tried are also always superb. read more

Giving this place 2 stars because the avocado toast is good. I ordered the avocado toast and 2 other items that just needed to be heated up and there were maybe 5 other people in the place and it took forever to come out. The workers are snotty and pretentious and pretty much ruined the whole experience for me. Also, the coffee is horrible. read more

I love this place! Such great stuff and tasty drinks. I love that the whole place smells like roasted coffee beans. Probably because they were out there coffee in the back. The layout is so open and spacious. There's a lot of beautiful natural light coming in throughout the day which makes us a perfect place to hang out and do some work or just to come by and say hello to your local baristas. Always liked this place, nice space, good coffee, friendly employees. As someone in a household with health conditions, was one of the few places we felt okay going into in Chico since the pandemic started, was always a safe bet. Pretty disappointed that they are now jumping on the "the pandemic is over" bandwagon and not having employees wear any masks when it isn't actually over. Guess we'll add this to the list of places we can't risk going to in Chico. Sucks, really liked it. Horrifyingly fascinating watching how quickly social Darwinism works its way into the foundations of a community though, eventually consuming even the more steadfast communities which are composed of those who consider themselves to be progressive. read more

My favorite coffee shop in Chico the ambience is great with lots of study spaces and I really enjoy their coffee. I usually get a flavored latte. They have good options for pastries as well the scone I had was my favorite. I'm not a huge fan or their breakfast options but just because I prefer something a little simpler and more traditional. read more

Just stopped by for the first time today. Atmosphere is fresh, clean, modern and relaxed. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I had a cappuccino and it was one of the best I have ever had. Rich flavor and perfect amount of froth. They feature baked goods by Lovely Layers and the cranberry scone was excellent. First off, I want to say I met up with family at this coffee shop because they said the coffee is amazing, which I was super excited to have in Chico. And while normally I won't review a new place until I've tried twice, for Daycamp coffee I am making an exception, because I definitely am not gonna pay to experience this again. The service was absolutely terrible. I have extremely bad Asthma. I have a history of blacking out when I'm forced to use a mask, & when they asked me to I politely pulled out my inhaler & said I medically can't. While I realize that some businesses won't take no for an answer, the girl at the counter was extremely rude about it & told me if I don't wear a mask I would have to leave immediately, & told me I could always ask a stranger to order for me & wait outside. First off, I was juggling 2 babies. Second, how rude would it be for me to ask a stranger to order & bring me my coffee. Third, I'm not going to pay for a coffee that I'm not even allowed to enjoy in the shop. Finally, literally everyone around didn't have a mask. So I assume it was only something required at the counter. I told her that I would try to wear it but I might have to pull it down to use my inhaler. Again she looked at the open doorway & said if I pull it down for any reason they wouldn't serve me. My sister then looked at me & said that while she enjoys the coffee, the girls who work are extremely rude & make her feel uncomfortable, & then told me of an experience she had. While she is willing to go back for good coffee, I am not. I felt so uncomfortable the entire time I was there, & honestly my coffee wasn't good at all. I NEED my coffee strong & ordered a quad latte, yet it tasted watered down & milky. Maybe I ordered the wrong drink? Anyway. I want to give this shop 1 star, but my sister likes it, so you get 2. Seriously. Work on your improving service skills here. I don't remember the last time I've been treated so poorly while paying for a service. read more

I found DayCamp a little while back (during COVID) and have been coming about once a week since. Every single time it's consistent and delicious! I typically get cold brew or an iced vanilla latte with oat milk (the oat milk is amazing). The baristas are always super friendly and make me feel welcome. Not to mention they have plexiglass barriers up and hand sanitizer out! There's a reason I drive out to DayCamp from downtown when I want good coffee - it's worth it. read more
