What a complete embarrassment to a cafe. My friend ordered a BLT but looked like an LT. There was two thin strips of bacon, a huge slice off the end of a tomato and old slimy lettuce. On top of that the service was just horrible. The waitress looked like she had been drinking vodka and smoking cigarettes all morning. And to make things even worse, there was an old man peeing in corner of the bathroom onto the floor. Just sick. Will NEVER go back. What a waste of 20 dollars. read more

Short and sweet on this one... BEST damn blueberry pie I've had at any diner across the country. The cinnamon bun was fluffy and the freshly whipped butter made it heavenly. The coffee cake was on point with a light crisp on the outside but moist and a dollop of that real cream butter on top made it worth a stop here in the middle of nowhere USA. I also had the open faced hot turkey sandwich and mashed potatoes... it wasn't that great but was average. My friends and I came to the same conclusion, desserts here on a Thursday lunch time are phenomenal... the food is average... the service we had with Linda was the best. Terrible food and service to match. Our server was so cranky and rude. We had a party of four. We asked for water and they brought one glass, not four. We asked for water for all of us and they brought one more glass. Oh come on. Seriously. We finally got four waters. The salads were ok. The steaks were hit and miss. Three of us got steak. Two of the steaks were just ok but the third one was so tough you couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. Another customer wanted music and wanted it loud. So the server did just that. The music was so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. The coconut cream pie tasted like a frozen box type pie. No refills on water. Our server was terrible and so was the food. Something changed about a year ago at the Foothills location... we are locals, not Snowbirds; they were always our weekly go-to. About a year ago it all went to crap. This is a great location for a top off between Phoenix and San Diego. It is easy to find at exit 12 off the freeway on the outside of Yuma. The food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly. It was recommended by the desk clerks at our hotel there is also reasonable Haus at stations nearby. We checked Gas Buddy. This will be one of our regular in transit stops. We had cat fish for supper and pecan sweet potato pancakes and French toast for breakfast. They also have some of the best carrot cake we have enjoyed. We took some back to our room to have with coffee later. read more

Great service by Janet and a fabulous lunch. Got the BLTA and the Yuma Deli stack. Stack is right! Finished of with a delicious pecan pie. Wish they had a sugar free option for my grandfather. Lots of 5 star reviews, and I'm sorry I can't join them as we may have caught them on a terrible off-night. Got seated right away and offer of drinks. Bartender came and asked if we wanted our margaritas on rocks or blended and salt or none - very admirable = 1 star. Waitress (do we still call them that?) - Linda - was very pleasant and fun to banter with. Now we start to fall off the cliff. We ordered dinner. A couple was seated well after us right behind us and starts getting their meal. 20 mins, 30 mins, 40 mins go by and no food yet. Linda came over and says they had a "snag in the kitchen" but it's on its way. Another 10 mins and she comes back and verifies the order. She brings 2 salads and had to be reminded of the 3rd salad. Still no meal. My sister goes to talk to the manager but finds they are not there. But assuming the assistant manager says she will take care of it. Finally after an hour, and the other couple are done, Linda comes out with 2 of our 3 dinners and informs us that the chicken parm that we ordered, and that WAS VERIFIED, they had no marinara for it!!! She asked what else we would like....... She apologized profusely and we made another choice. When we had finished, Linda came back, apologized again and said that they were short staffed in the kitchen and "he" was doing the best he could, and offered to pay for a dessert. We declined and I suggested they could comp the substituted meal. She had to check with "management" and came back with the check and said they did comp the meal. I was a guest of my sister and brother-in-law (RESIDENTS of Yuma) and was pretty disappointed. I totally understand the lack of employees, especially since almost everywhere you look you see "Help Wanted" signs, but that is the job of a manager - what is plan B??? Second star is for Linda. Probably not her fault that she probably wasn't told there was no marinara until the last second, but unfortunately she's the front line and has to tell someone that. I used to enjoy breakfast here because of their homemade chicken fried steak. Portions were extremely generous. This visit, I ordered the chicken fried steak and they now have replaced homemade with a frozen tasteless replacement. Very disappointed because their menu still says it is homemade. read more

I cannot support a business that is OK with employees being berated and humiliated in front of customers by another employee. If this happens in front of customers what must happen behind the scenes. When we arrived a very nice young lady by the name of Ana greeted us and sat us down, very friendly and welcoming. She sat us in a booth, however another employee, an older brunette lady with glasses just went off on poor Ana. She started screaming at her saying she could not sit us in a booth with a stroller because it is a fire hazard. I understand the safety concern, but this woman could have handled it differently. During our entire meal this woman with the glasses would not leave Ana and another employee alone, she was mean and rude to them. It was very uncomfortable, and it upset me that I should have said something but I didn't. Not going to patronize a business that treats employees poorly. read more

3 of us for dinner at 7PM, never have seen this place so empty. 1 of us ordered liver and onions cooked medium and it came well done, 1 ordered a Cobb Salad and the chicken was so overcooked and dry could hardly cut it. 1 ordered soup and 1 ordered a salad, the salad never arrived and the soup was delivered after the main course!! Every single time I have been to Daybreakers it has been excellent. Breakfast is amazing. The coffee cake is mouthwatering and melts in your mouth. We also like to go for dessert (pies, Thrifty Ice Cream, and other good stuff). The servers are experienced and know what they are doing. I look forward to the new location opening soon! Ive heard multiple people compliment this restaurant for their breakfasts so of course being a breakfast lover I had to try it (and to be fair I went 3 times hoping maybe I was just catching them on a bad day or two). However, as much as I hate to leave low reviews for small business owners but I've yet to be even mildly impressed. The food lacks flavor (salt and herbs do wonders) their portions are small for the price (unusual as it seems to cater to truckers) and the building is older and it shows. The service is also just so so. Not overly terrible but you can definitely tell your just a ticket. Getting a refill on a drink requires catching a waitress as they pass by. Bummer... I'm always looking for a good breakfast joint but this place doesn't fit that bill. read more
