First impression, no good morning or hello from the lady taking names. She said "How many", and when told party of 5, was questioned with "is all your party here". I replied no. She said let me know. Sat and waited maybe 5 minutes before she came over and said is your party here yet, I replied no. She in a rude tone of voice "how much longer", I said " I don't know, they were near Walmart headed this way", just give out table away. She said well come on and seated us. Waitress came by rudely asked if we were all here yet. Nope, still only three of us waiting. As we sat and waited the rude lady started to seat another older couple to a table our size and asked is your party here and gentleman said no, but we can wait and have coffee, she said No, we are really busy and I'll have to let another group be seated. Rude,rude,rude! Never have I felt rushed, interrogated. We stayed because unlike the ladies personality, we like the food! Second time here for breakfast and it's been 5 stars both times, for the food and service! The first time it was Thanksgiving holiday weekend and it was packed! Seating and service understandably took awhile but it was well worth the wait. Today it's midweek so we were seated and served promptly. I had corned beef hash and eggs, and my husband had his usual eggs, bacon, and sausage breakfast. We're both very pleased. We'll definitely be back! If i lived in Yuma, this would be my favorite place for breakfast [the only meal I ate there]. I had the 2 eggs, hash browns, and the [if there's any left] cinnamon coffe cake. The meal was delicious. The coffee cake, a generous portion, warm, melted butter on top, and plenty of crusty cinnamon topping. Would have loved to have had a second piece. The waitress was funny and a crackup, giving us as much banter as we gave her, smiling the whole time. The rest of the gaff was friendly and light-hearted. Breakfast is always good. However, dinner was a disappointment. Bad service, bad management, bad food at dinner. Not sure what the problem was but had to keep asking for stuff multiple times; waitress was forgetful. Food tasted horrible. Got wrong items and missing items. OMG! BEST RESTAURANT EVER! My husband and I have eaten here several times and have always been amazed at the wonderful service, food, and atmosphere. I must mention that we ate there for Thanksgiving, and we felt so catered to by the lovely waitress! She was so sweet and attentive to our needs. Daybreakers might normally pass for 3-stars, but not when I went for my first time on a Sunday morning. The hostess said the wait would be 15-20 minutes, but it turned into 30 minutes. I ordered the breakfast combo with eggs and my wife got an omelet. Both of our orders came back incorrect: she got bacon in her omelet when she asked for it not to have bacon, and I got partially lukewarm to cold potatoes instead of my requested homemade fries. Our waitress also tried to rush us to order to beat a 10-top, and didn't bother to see how we liked our meals. Other than that, everything was okay. The portions were reasonable and prices were generally decent. The service was rushed, but cordial. I'll probably reevaluate Daybreakers when it isn't snowbird season. read more

Just had the worst experience ever, this places customer service is by far the worst ever experienced. The manager of the dive has no ability to manage a popcycle stand. I took my family out for breakfast on the 3rd of April and ddint see anything I wanted on the menu. I asked for an egg whites omlett all meat, sausage bacon, chariso, bacon and ham. Now understandably there is an upcharge for h additional meats being added on top of a ham egg and cheese omlett, that was only $8.99, but when we received our bill the two of us that had ordered these omletts never imagined them to be $19.00 each and with the other two meals totaling $67.00. When we questioned the charges we were told that we were charged not for a side portion of each meat but an additional portion of each meat which is much much smaller per portionallly, but we were charged the much greater price of the side portion amount bringing it to the extremely expensive cost. We could have gotten the most expensive steak meal on the menu fo much less, and all they did was reduce one of the plates $5.00 because it wasnt completely eaten and could see there was very minimal amounts of each of the meats in the omletts. Be very careful what you order there as they are not custmer service oriented and the food is very bland and as far as diner drive ins and dives are concerned, this is the worst dive I've ever been in. I am a few of the proud that go to DayBreakers Cafe. This place is awesome if you want to have a forthmeal or just having the midnight craving but don't feel like going to a fast food joint such as Jack-In-The-Box. It is open 24 hours a day and is next to a truck station (The reason why). Their staff is very friendly and I am mostly greeted by a wonderful waitress "Janice", she is loving, quick, and effective. Of course everyone isn't perfect but I have had good result's with this waitress. It is a good business and hardly packed in the late night hours (3-5 AM). Great menu choices and a wonderful home cooked style meal. I suggest you check this restaurant out, I promise you won't be disappointed :) P.S. Stopped at this place on the way into Phoenix. I thought the service was great! Everyone was helpful and really nice and welcoming. We had a 53ft truck we were driving so it was perfect as this place is made for parking of big trucks. It's a truck stop so. the food is not gourmet but it was good. I had eggs Benedict and my husband had corned beef hash, home fries were really good. Desserts looked amazing! If we find ourselves this way again I'll stop to try them. read more

Went to breakfast the other day and what a disappointment! Snowbirds are gone and now that they aren't serving loads of people the food is sitting longer and gets stale. I haven't eaten here in 8 years, but decided to try it again because it's just down the road from our home. I was surprised that we were seated so quickly. The service was great , we had a number of servers ask about our drinks and if we needed anything multiple times during our visit.we ordered calamari as an appetizer it was surprising well cooked. After our dinner my kids were treated to a small size vanilla ice cream cone. The ice cream tasted homemade but I forgot to ask if it was. Really great service and great food. read more

I love this place. It's a very diner-ish, truck-stop & down-home kinda place. I'm sure a lot of people stop by on their way to Tucson or San Diego since it's right off the freeway. I'm a local so that's not the case for moi. The food's fine and filling but the staff is what makes this place. They're friendly and they remember you. Last I went, I took my new baby girl and the waitress that had served me a few months back while I was still pregnant, remembered me and what I had ordered. Now that is service! Yes please! I had the chili omelet, my friend had the pancakes, and my other friend had the Denver omelet. Yum! All of it. My only complaint is the corn which was clearly from a can. I'm also questioning the mashed potatoes as well. The price was reasonable, and the portions quite large. There were six of us for Thanksgiving dinner 11/28/13 and the staff did an outstanding job of customer service, food and serving so many people. The turkey and ham dinners were very good, plenty of everything, including dessert. We are thankful also to Daybreakers for honoring the veterans with a free meal. Just had to show proof of service. My husband and I returned for breakfast on Friday and again the service and food was terrific. So many friendly smiling staff.
