After doing a bit of research and getting past poor experiences with Petco Grooming, I made an appointment to bring her in. The building doesn't do much in the way of building your confidence, and the inside is pretty gloomy, but Rebecca who groomed our dog was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive to listening to how we wanted her groomed, and acknowledged her age and mentioned how they would look out for her and give her breaks etc. when I picked her up, she looked perfect! Exactly what we wanted, and even better than our regular groomer. I will be switching to bringing Sadie here from now on to have Rebecca groom her. She looked great, and our dog didn't seem overly stressed out and she was super happy. I would highly recommend bringing your dog here, and definitely recommend Rebecca. She is awesome!

But what has me writing the review is that they specifically did something I asked them not to. I paid for 3 dogs to have grooming and very specifically told them to not cut the tail of one of them. We wanted it left long. When I went back to pick them up the tail had been shaved. They claimed it was because of matting but if they had left it alone like I had asked them to they wouldn't have even had a razor going through the hair to even know there was some small mats. It took 2 years to grow that tail out.

In May of 2023 we adopted Dakota a 90 lbs. German Shepard / Chinook 2-year-old puppy. We did not…read moreknow much about our boy's first couple of years growing up. He did settle in with us nicely. However, the more comfortable he felt the more he became a resource guarder, nipping at people who came over to the house. We had tried a couple of in-home trainers and found that we are great dog parents. However, we are not good dog trainers. So, with a couple of recommendations from family and friends we made the investment in Sit Means Sit. Dakota was lucky to get Cole as his trainer. We enrolled Dakota in the 8-day program, and hoped that this would work, to help him feel more comfortable and stop the nipping. We started to see improvement right away. Having Dakota labeled an aggressive dog was a horrible feeling, but we knew we had to get training to help Dakota. Cole worked with Dakota, and they became good friends right away. Dakota was always very excited to go to Sit Means Sit. He enjoyed training with Cole, and he learned very quickly. Dakota graduated Doggy college at Sit Means Sit, just the other day with honors. We can see how well behaved and settled he has become. We know we still must work and train with him all the time, but we are so pleased with Frederick Sit Means Sit, and Cole. Sit Means sit not only helped Dakota, but us to, to become better Dog parents. I can't say enough good things about the people at the Frederick Sit Means Sit. From the office staff to the trainers, it shows they love dogs and their jobs. These guys really know their stuff. Top notch people and clean facility. If you love your dog, its well worth the investment.

We left once your husband opened the door to our excited puppy and I. We never had the chance for a meet and greet since all we got from your husband was head shaking and muffled mumbles through the glass door. Perhaps your husband has our brief encounter confused with a different one, as our puppy has never once had an incident with a Shih Tzu or any dog for that matter. If you so choose to stick with the story you claim, then you've made us feel satisfied that we did not leave our dog with you. You want to leave your pet with someone you can trust and this story, regarding our encounter, is obviously fabricated. Again, if your husband has our encounter confused with a different one then we'd be willing to accept the apology. But if this is what you claim to be true, do not trust this place.

We were very pleased with Sarah and felt our girl was safe and loved. We received pictures multiple times daily with updates. Before Delilah was allowed to stay, I met with Sarah and her husband to make sure she was not aggressive. Delilah has not been around other dogs much (besides our other dog), but by the 2nd day, she had multiple friends and was playing with them. I highly recommend Sarah as a kind, caring person to watch your dog. We will be using her services again in the future.

Greeted as soon as I walked in to my appointment to get Prince Tippytoes' nails trimmed. And he was immediately taken back. Now it seems he is very much a Primna Donna as his whines could be heard across the store. But the lovely lady who trimmed him said that despite his cries he was a good boy that didn't growl or snarl. Very convenient for the people who live in Urbana, and we are already repeat customers.

Other than never being able to figure out whether I was due for a free dog wash after my six visits, I always had good experiences with this location, that all changed today. Today's issue happened to be that I got a call 15 minutes before I was supposed to be there saying that they needed me to come 30 minutes late to my scheduled appointment, when I said, I would split the difference and be 15 minutes late because I already had the dog in the car and was on my way. I was put on hold and then told that would be OK. Upon my arrival I was put in a room that had so much hair from the previous dog that the tub would not drain and I walked out covered in hair that was blowing around when trying to dry my dog (that was after having to move the dryer as they did not have the 2 that are normally there). Meanwhile, they were having one of their employees groom another dog in the room next-door instead of having the self wash stations open for self washes for their customers. Then to top it off the price to wash my own dog (with someone else's dog hair) is now $30 for a 20 minute time-slot, a teaspoon of shampoo and some of their water. I've been frustrated that it was difficult to call to schedule an appointment. Their website was/is cumbersome and not conducive to actually scheduling a time but gives an "afternoon/morning/evening" option. Then they would reach out to you with what times were available and you'd go back-and-forth trying to iron out a time instead of just being able to call. Very disappointed at the direction this new ownership has taken this establishment. This will probably be our last visit here...
