The building doesn't do much in the way of building your confidence, and the inside is pretty gloomy, but Rebecca who groomed our dog was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive to listening to how we wanted her groomed, and acknowledged her age and mentioned how they would look out for her and give her breaks etc. when I picked her up, she looked perfect! Exactly what we wanted, and even better than our regular groomer. I will be switching to bringing Sadie here from now on to have Rebecca groom her. She looked great, and our dog didn't seem overly stressed out and she was super happy. I would highly recommend bringing your dog here, and definitely recommend Rebecca. She is awesome!

But what has me writing the review is that they specifically did something I asked them not to. I paid for 3 dogs to have grooming and very specifically told them to not cut the tail of one of them. We wanted it left long. When I went back to pick them up the tail had been shaved. They claimed it was because of matting but if they had left it alone like I had asked them to they wouldn't have even had a razor going through the hair to even know there was some small mats. It took 2 years to grow that tail out.

While my daughter was looking for dog and cat food, I was looking at dog bones and taking pictures of the bone I thought I should buy to send to my son. While I was doing this, an elderly woman with white hair made me uncomfortable and violated my privacy by approaching me in an unpleasant way, asking me why I was taking pictures when the bones were already on the website. I'm sure she said this because it was almost closing time. She spoke to me very rudely, and I felt extremely uncomfortable. That should have been my first red flag. They smelled as if they had not been bathed at all and my golden who I paid extra to have undercoat removed clearly had not been furmirated. I decided to order from a local store, Wild Birds Unlimited (yes, I know it's a franchise, but they're locally owned and operated), rather than Amazon. WBU was a little more expensive but #shoplocal, right? I opted for delivery, thinking they would use UPS or something. Instead, a day after I placed the order, the store owners personally dropped a ton of seed at my door AND a gift - this cute seed squirrel and holder. I've only purchased from WBU one other time a couple of months ago and my interaction with them was equally as pleasant, with them helping carry bags of seed to my car. Anyway, the moral of the story is: support your local businesses and maybe you, too, will get a free squirrel that looks like it's holding peanut tits.

Period. Don't listen to the negative reviews. We have had negative experiences with most of the other fish stores in the area, including the more commercial ones. After a number of years of doing this, we are pretty discerning customers when it comes to fish and plant health. We highly recommend this store. Look past the exterior and Mr. Bill's gruff demeanor at first. He knows his stuff for sure. Take the time. It is worth it.
