Reasonable price for a 4-wheel alignment, they seemed like nice people. Few weeks after my alignment i hear a clicking noise under my driver side front wheel. They left my tie rod end ball joint nearly completely loose... if it HAD come loose, i would have lost all steering function. I go to check the other side, and as i'm untightening the wheel, all my lug bolts are loose on this side and come out with nearly zero effort. Very low quality control on their part, and as i said earlier, could have left me in both an accident and a very large repair bill. Like i said, nice people, but the work wasn't good. Traveling through bellingham on a road trip in my campervan with my cat. Had a super nice day and rolled the windows down. When we got to park somewhere I tried rolling the windows up and it struggled and froze 2/3rd up.... Shit... thats no good... cant let my cat get out. Called a few places with no answer... worried my trip was shot or I had to do some tacky thing with cardboard and gorilla tape... I called a buddy who used to live up here and he said to call Davis and ask. Called and explained what was going on, they said they could at least get the window up for me so I headed over. They got me in for a diagnosis (since it was an emergency of sorts) and said the motor was shot and since it was geared it was preventing the window from being pulled up... but they said there was one in stock and they could get the part in 30min and have it done in an hour..... uhhh ok! We secured the cat in his carrier and went to Kulshan K2 (were going there anyway) to have a couple of beers. They called nearly an hour later on the dot and said it was ready to roll. Never thought that it could be done this fast. They saved the trip! I even grabbed some sixpacks from K2 and left them there for the shop as a thankyou. You guys rock! read more

Place is garbage.Had an error code took it to Davis Automotive on Queen St.They dont have loaner cars and it took over a month,when I finally got my car back the same error code came back.I then took it to the dealership who tells me not only is it not fixed,but the oil has been dangerously over filled.Feel like the first thing they teach you in car fixing school is ,DONT OVERFILL THE OIL.Dealership also said the oil was filthy.So Davis overfilled my car with used oil.Second thing they teach at car fixing school DONT USE FILTHY OIL.So in conclusion:if you want your car to be in worse shape when you pick up then when you dropped it off,go to Davis. read more

Prices are reasonable and you can trust the honesty and knowledge of the shop. They explained what was needed, how long it would take, and why. They put on my license plates for me as well for free, and had advise on when to check my car or bring it back for some issues. Shows how nice and helpful they are...good people. Just came by for an emergency fix on my license plate after my sister backed into the front of my car. The license plate was dangling off the car and I had no screws/tools to fix it. Todd came straight out to take a look, grabbed some screws and a screwdriver, and had my plate secured within 5 minutes! He was even kind enough to do it free of charge since it was so quick. For the last 27 years, I have had the great opportunity to have Bill Davis and his professionals on staff service, and repair, all of my vehicles - 7 in total. From full engine and transmission installation to regular oil and filter replacement, I have always, always received the highest quality of maintenance from this outstanding business. There have been times when the problem was so intricate that the time to repair the vehicle went much beyond the normal maintenance recommended. I was not charged for the extra time Bill required taking to make the repairs. Over my years of vehicle ownership, I have not come across a more honest and trustworthy repair service. These guys might know alignment, but they know squat about transmissions. I took my vehicle here to have the suspension adjusted, and they advised the transfer case needed to be rebuilt so I reluctantly agreed to let them do it, which in hindsight was a big mistake. After being 'fixed' it leaked profusely, and would not go into 4 low. I spent well over $1K letting them mess around with my rig, and then ended up spending almost as much to have it repaired properly at another reputable and professional transmission specialist. Shame on me for trying to give my business to a local shop that seemed like they needed it, but no good deed goes unpunished, right?! read more

Our Lexus needed new brakes. I called and visited various shops but all seemed to want to change out the rotors and calipers. I remembered the days when we would try to save existing parts and not to replace them unless absolutely necessary. Those days appeared to be over. I was about to give up when I called Discount Tire and they recommended Davis Automotive. I called them immediately and was greeted on the phone by Bill Davis. He's owned and operated Davis Automotive since 1984. We spoke at length about my brake issue. I was pleasantly surprised that he possessed the old school attitude of not replacing parts unless it was absolutely necessary. Bill was able to schedule our car in for repair the next day. I dropped it off at 10am and it was done by 11:30am. When we went over the bill I was astonished that it was far less than what he had originally quoted the day before.
