I brought my Subaru in for a 78k maintenance. The local Subaru dealer estimates this maintenance @ $200. I was told by Pete's that they can go on the internet and pull up what is needed for this 78k service. I did not get anything to sign or acknowledge what was specifically was going to be performed by them. (my mistake). When my car was ready - my bill was $715 (you can imagine my surprise). In examining the itemized bill - it listed exactly the same maintenance that I had done at 60k - so now I have received another 60k maintenance, just 18k miles later and this $715 bill. In discussion with the staff, I was told "this is what the internet says should be done at 78k". I don't know where they are getting this "internet" info, but not from Subaru. Head's up - be sure to get something in writing (estimate) before blindly turning over your keyes. read more

Pete's did a great job servicing my 2015 Subaru Forester. They gave my Roo a tune up. Prior to taking her in, they gave me a rundown of what they would be doing.....asked me if that was what I wanted and also was there anything else I wanted done for her. The price they quoted me was a solid $230 less than any other quotes I had gotten. And when I went and picked it up, they had done some detailing for me and it was vacuumed and all prettied up for me. The folks at the front were friendly and welcoming. Pete's Auto Repair was highly recommended to me by a friend. My car needed an oil change so I went in. Everyone was really kind and caring, went above and beyond. Allie, the service manager, took the time to explain the issues with customers in person and over the phone. I saw how nice she was with an elderly customer who was hard of hearing. She treated him with dignity and respect. I only waited for about an hour, the price was reasonable compared to other places I've been to. The tech discovered that my air filter was really dirty and needed replacing. Allie showed it to me. It's been years since any repair shop has shown me worn parts. These people are right on top of it. I even was pleasantly surprised to find that the tech had cleaned my windows and vacuumed my carpet. I'm sharing my good experience with others. I expected a bill of ~$700 based on what was wrong, and advice from others. The bill was ~$200. And the car was repaired 2 days earlier than I expected. Pete's quoted us $700 for front and rear brakes and sensors. They called later and said the rotors needed to be done. They said around $300 more. Once the job was complete, the bill was $1400, and the lady at the desk said that amount had been "approved." She said "the parts that you were quoted originally were incorrect," but again, no one notified us of that either. The lady just smirked at us while we looked over the bill and charges. Left a pretty poor taste in our mouths. Funny thing is that I have a business and was trying them out to see if they could be my mechanic for my fleet vehicles. Won't be going back. read more

Got an oil change and tire rotation/ service was fast and they were pretty accommodating. Only thing that hasn't sat right with me is that I was charged book time for a tire rotation, which would make perfect sense if it was a standalone service. Having worked in several shops before myself and bringing my car in elsewhere this is the first time I've ever been charged full book time (which was $70!) just for a tire rotation when I also got an oil change. Normally since the car is already in the air for an oil change, a tire rotation is prorated down since the actual labor time is cut. This being said, I didn't check the quote before approving the work, but I would suggest this ship review its pricing model to come more in line with other shops in the area. read more

Paid c. $300 for an oil change and diagnostic- replaced a gas cap but still have the check engine light flashing that there is still an issue with the cap. They did not charge labor to replace the gas cap, but have the same issue I went in with. The previous dealership that did maintenance told me it was fine, but I was hoping to have the problem solved. Not a big deal... However, the vehicle was returned with dash lights, shifter lights, and AC not working (working on the way there). I called them minutes after leaving their lot. They acknowledged it maybe a fuse or something simple that happened during the diagnostic. They also offered to call or look at jt in the morning (which I had to take off work), because their mechanics were leaving. No call, so I called and no result other then a veiled comment that they had video - So did I. I had to replace the blown fuses myself, which was the problem. Won't go back there ...I'm sure with simple issues they are fine, save the expensive oil change. They have a good reputation, so maybe I was just an anomaly. Took the rest of our vehicles elsewhere, but note the good reviews here on their behalf. read more

Took my Nissan pickup in there because it was idling rough. I usually do everything myself but I was super busy with two jobs as going to school so I dropped it off there to figure out what was going on. They told me that they found a leaky egr module valve after they ran smoke through the break booster hose. Should have only taken them 15min to find that out. Super easy to find. Then they charged me $170 just to diagnose it!!! Are you kidding me!!!??? Anyways, I go to start it up and it ran perfectly fine. Hmmm weird, so before I bought the new part I ran some smoke through the break booster hose and there wasn't any smoke leaking out of the egr module valve at all. Must have been just a loose break booster hose. These guys are a huge rip off and I will never take anything to them ever read more

We had this place check out an exaust leaking sound on our vehicle. They diagnosed it as the right side exaust manifold gasket. They told us they would probably break manifold bolts and that it would cost $1800 to repair. Took it to another shop in Bellingham. They quickly told us it was the left side, not the right and it would be no more than $300. These guys don't know what they are doing. read more
