OMG the service here was amazing! I called for a routine checkup last minute and they scheduled me for the next day. They were not only friendly but in the 45 mins I was there managed to give me a pdf with pictures and videos of my vehicle color coded in green, yellow, and red. Green being good to go, yellow being problems needed to be look at in the near future, and red being problems that needed to be addressed right now. All with explanations and questions further answered by the manager who explained it to me well esp for someone with no car knowledge. The manager was really upfront with me telling the costs of those repairs and if I was looking to buy a new car it might be cheaper to get a new one. I've had mine for 11 years that's been on multiple cross country road trips and I was not responsible enough to do good maintenance on it. It really made me trust them. I did not feel like I was getting hustled whatsoever which is something I'm sure everyone fears going into the auto shop. Not to mention they were dog friendly, had free coffee, and a record player with various records available for you to play. I got my vehicle within the hour. They gave me a new air freshener, thank you card with a company pen / business card inside, and they included a keychain with a punch card for a reward after some visits. Like wow! Can't say enough about Lucky's. Everything about the shop is professional, friendly, well run and HONEST. They did work on my old Jeep Liberty twice and did a thorough check of everything before I took it on a long road trip. I have been to a few mechanics and it is such a wonderful thing to find a mechanic that I can completely trust to do the work right and charge a fair price. Wow, it's been so great working with Luckys. It's cliche but customer service is truly a dying art form. Every correspondence was timely, professional, comprehensive and friendly. Obvious years of experience and attention to detail provide a relaxing atmosphere for what is normally a stressful time. For our first update after problem diagnosis we were provided with high res pictures of the vehicle and problem areas along with a very detailed description of needed repairs. Additional, mileage relevant repairs were suggested but in no way pushed. Pricing was fair, genuine Factory parts and fluids were used. The shop, office and parking area are so well maintained and clean that arriving at the shop feels more like going out for an espresso than getting a vehicle repaired or oil changed. Couple of months ago, I got into the accident and needed couple repairs on my 03 Infiniti G35. I've done some job myself, but when it came to replacing belts I was lost, yet unexperienced about it. When I went to nissan dealership they asked way too much for such replacement, so I started looking around for local people with experience and cheaper labor. There I found and met Lucky. Lucky explained to me that there are couple different companies that manufacture belts, and explained the difference and prices from a local auto shop. I went with the best one out there and paid for the labor. Loved the price and yet was able to look at the job myself, and yet Lucky explained to me how everything was done. A waste of money. They operate out of a garage that looks to be their house's garage. I'm sure they know some things, but they were completely unable to help with my air conditioning in my '14 truck. Instead of admitting they couldn't find the problem, they charged me over $100 for a "recharge" that didn't even last a week. Complete waste of money, and I don't trust them to do any better in the future. Update: took my truck to a large repair shop in town, and they diagnosed the actual problem in a half hour, and repairing it next day. Glad to not get my time and wasted. read more

Rich and Lucky kept me informed the whole way, and took care of a few badly needed side projects while they had the car apart. Unfortunately had a bad experience with Lucky's Shop. My car had issues overheating, it took about a week to repair which was fine, but a few days after getting my car back it began to overheat while I was driving on the freeway, once I popped the hood I saw that the radiator hose was not clamped on correctly and had drained all of the antifreeze in my car causing it to overheat. The shop did however take the car back and "fix" the problem and returned my car to me. Less than a year after getting the repair my car began overheating AGAIN, apart from being overpriced they didn't fix the issue. read more

Rich & Lucky were very helpful with our situation regarding replacement of our radiator on our 2001 Chrysler van. We were visiting from Sacramento and were honest regarding the repair or not repair because of the age of our van. In the end we replaced it & had a safe trip back. Went to Lucky's cause of the good reviews and their towing deal cause my car was totally dead (they do free towing for $500+ of work). Was pretty happy at first, but turns out they charged me a 3% fee for paying with card, that I was never made aware of. $50 bucks because I paid card seems extremely excessive and so I thought reasonably since I was never made aware of this, they'd give me the refund. If I had just been told there was a card fee, I could have paid cash but was never made aware and only found out later. I contacted them about it and they told me I'd need to make the full refund and pay in cash and when I told them I don't have an extra $2000 lying around, I started being ignored. Really disappointing end to an otherwise pleasant experience. read more

Lucky, Rich and Nolan were all very excellent to deal with. These guys are knowledgable, honest and easy going. If you want the best this is the place you want to go. They were playing Frank Sinatra and the atmosphere was great. I don't normally trust my NSX to anyone. I didn't drive it for an entire year in order to locate the best mechanic. Lucky is a lifesaver. My wife and I experience an auto emergency at 5:00pm Thursday before Labor Day. We had planned to leave Friday morning early for a road trip, but that was put in jeopardy. As a Yelper I started at the top of the list and started making calls. Everyone was closing shop and no one had any interesting in helping us after hours. I called no less than 15 shops, explained my situation and no one was willing to help. I was about to give up when I came to the Lucky Speed Shop way down the list. With nothing to lose I called them. He explained that they too were closing for the night, but after hearing my situation he had the compassion and customer service to help me. He left the shop and rescued my stranded wife, took the car to his shop and worked past 10:00pm that night to get it back to running. We left for our road trip as planned Friday morning and our car ran beautifully. I guess this is one of Bellingham's best kept secrets, because this shop not only makes superior repairs, they do it at a responsible price and have customer service I have never seen in the auto repair world. I had a appt. for 0900 so i dropped off my car at the shop. 4 hours later i called to ask about my car and they had not even moved from where i parked it. I talked to the shop twice before dropping off my car and they never told me that there was any cars ahead of mine. what is the point of making an appt. if they are not going to stick to it. Plus they wanted to charge me 30 dollars more per hour to work on my car since i brought my own parts. Will never be going back there ever. read more

We recently asked the lovely guys here to rewire our horse trailer, as we had several lights that didn't work, and a lot of the lighting was insufficient. Lucky and his crew replaced all of the lights and wiring with LED lighting, and replaced awkward switches with new switches that were easily reachable. We love the results. The trailer is now bright, without any lights hanging down where the horses might bang them. The back of the trailer is brilliantly lit with strips along the top that extend across the divider into the tack room, where there is extra lighting outside the tack room door. There are powerful lights at the back to make loading at night easy and safe. All of our running lights are now bright and visible, and people seem to give us more space on the road! We were very impressed with the attention to detail and level of customer service that we received. Lucky and Mario came to our place to assess our trailer to give us a quote, and gave us a few options depending on what we wanted to spend. We needed some time to save up for the work we wanted done and we never felt pressured or hassled. They even delivered the trailer back to us to make sure everything worked, and on time for us to get to an event, and checked in a few days later to make sure we were happy. We were beyond impressed with the quality of the work done and the conscientious service we received. We won't hesitate to bring our vehicles to Lucky in the future, and would recommend these guys to anybody. read more

This is a little late in coming, but sincerely thankful for this business none the less. In early May I was having power steering issues and dropped in to the shop after reading good reviews here. I had already researched the issues and was pretty sure of the problem. I was also aware of the price range to fix it. Feeling a bit like a lamb entering the lions den, I asked for Lucky's professional opinion. He confirmed my suspicions. I must say, I doubt I could have picked a better garage to bring my business to. From the moment I drove in, I was greeted promptly, and treated with respect.
