I had a flat tire, took it to a national tire company and they would not fix it even though it was not a high risk repair. They also made me wait 3+ hours just to tell me that and tried to sell me new tires. Mark at Meridian was very knowledgeable and easily fixed the tire within 1 hour for a nominal fee. It's nice to work with someone that is looking out for your best interest rather than making a sale. Highly recommend. read more

A few things about repair facilities for our vehicles is that you don't know if they are honest, do good work or how they charge. Well from experience I can safely say you don't have to worry about those things here. An honest friendly shop that doesn't overcharge and does great work. I brought my car in for a flat not knowing why. $17 later I was on the road. They could of said I needed a tire, tire and wheel etc. instead they said it was a puncture in the safe repair zone and sent me on my way in under an hour. Traveling on vacation in Bellingham when the dreaded "check engine" light came on. A google search took us to Meridian auto to check the light and determine the seriousness of the situation. I was impressed by the feedback from the mechanic checking the light. He found the problem right away and also found some other issues based upon our explaining how the car was running. They fixed exactly what they were asked to fix and neither my wife nor myself felt that they took advantage of us being on vacation and a long way from home. Replaced parts that not only did not need to be replaced, but also didn't solve my problem. Took my car in to solve an AC issue and they did everything but fix it, so I took it back and they replaced the thermostat. Still did mot solve my problem and actually made it worse. The owner of Meridian Auto is morally bankrupt. On a regular basis he drives by our residents, which is on or near Kentucky Street close to his business. He precedes to violently honked his horn and rub his truck engine and it's to the point that my wife is in fear of him and what he might else do. He has made false accusations and even threaten me personally. I've tried to talk to him during business hours civilly but this little mean Man shows me no maturity or willingness to acknowledge our real situation. I am a veteran of the US Army struggling day today to upkeep the only thing keeping us from sleeping on the sidewalk. He has on numerous occasions observed me struggling to start our motorhome and has never once offered any kind of help or references. I'm not saying that he's required to help me but don't you think it is the Humane thing to do at least offer. A doctor is not going to stand there and harass somebody having a heart attack on the sidewalk outside of his doctor's office. My wife is Native American and I believe that he is strongly profiling us based upon our appearance. read more

Had been going to Meridian Auto for past couple years due to referral I received from Nissan dealership. All was well until recently when the following happened that tainted my experience resulting in me taking my business and referrals elsewhere. 1) Had rear brakes replaced at 93882 miles 2) Had 100K service done at 100715 miles 3) Had oil change done 105152 miles when I complained of having pulsating when braking. They took it in and determined that 1) front rotors were warped and need to be replaced. I would need to also replace brakes in front too because of having new rotors.. They recommended replacing rotors instead of turning them, even though there was 60% left on the front pads. 2) rear brakes were at 80/20% wear and they suggested the 20% wear was likely due to a caliper hanging up. They recommended I replace rear brakes and caliper. They said they would call me to give me a quote. Two days passed and I heard nothing so I called them. They gave me a quote of $216 for front rotor replacement and total to fix all of around $774. I advised that I just had the brakes replaced less than 10K miles ago and I shouldn't have an issue already. Also advised I had the vehicle serviced only 4400 miles ago and if a caliper was hanging up, in order to reach 20% pad wear, they should've seen it and notified me during my 100K service. They did not. When I left that day, all that was said to me was, "here are your keys, its like you now have a brand new car". At that time the man I was speaking to advised that he would go back and speak to someone to see what they could do for me. Here we are now 8 days later and no one ever called me back. I ended up taking it to another garage to get an estimate. Turns out, the caliper is no longer hanging up but the wear loss is still there of course. Which means they likely freed it up when I had it in for my oil change. Front brakes need no work at all (no rotors or brakes like they recommended). Only rear need to be replaced due to the caliper issue. In my mind, they realized they made an error by not communicating it last service, now its time for them to own up and make it right and they either don't have time to deal with me or are avoiding it. It was also made clear that I have to get this fixed within the next few days due to family in town and several other commitments needing my car. No call, nothing. I've spoken to my brother who is manages a private garage as well being a certified technician who verified this is 1) definitely not how you treat your repeat customers in terms of just communicating 2) lying about what service is actually needed. VERY disappointed and I will not return and will no longer send referrals there. I think many would've just accepted it as is but because I do have some knowledge/resources about cars...I'm probably not their average female customer and pushed back. read more

My daughter's tire went flat overnight and when she woke up, had to borrow her friends car to get to class. She called and asked me what she should do. Being the protective and helpful Dad that I am, I searched for a tire shop near her apartment. When I called Meridian and explained to Jim what happened, he offered to drive over to the apartment with a compressor and inflate the tire so she could get her car to their shop for repairs. A short time and a whopping $10 later, she drove away completely happy with a fixed tire. Thanks Jim. read more

I highly recommend Meridian Auto and Tire. After discovering Meridian Auto and Tire a few months ago, we've brought in a couple of our vehicles in there for several different things. After buying a used Tahoe we started having some issues with an electrical component. To make a long story short, Meridian replaced the part, but we kept having the issue. They really went the extra mile to try and figure out what the problem was, but after talking to Chevy, we brought it to the dealer, who replaced the same part. It turns out the the part was defective. After going back to Meridian Auto and Tire, they were incredibly professional and wanted to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. In the end, they decided to split the labor with me and give me half of the money that I paid for labor back (since I had to pay to have the same part replaced again). Obviously, they did not have to do this, they could have sent me on my way and washed their hands of the problem. I believe that the sign of great customer service is how the treat you when things don't go smoothly. Meridian Auto and Tire proved that they have superior customer service and expertise (I can't blame them for a brand new part being defective). From the owner, Jim, to Mark and Rick up front, to the tech Skylar, they all were incredibly friendly and professional. I will continue to bring my vehicles there and will recommend them every time I get the chance. read more

Got our tires balanced here and the second we drove out, 3 (or more) of the weights fell off. Then the office guy said it'd be a bit before they could get back to us. Really? Wouldn't that put us first in line since the job was already paid for & obviously wasn't done right? I'm giving it 3 stars because the other guy who helped us was very nice. Oh well...
