Needed two tires and Discount Tire demanded that they be installed on the rear of my FWD car. The guy actually refused to give my keys back until I insisted. Then when I had a slow leak in one tire, they counted the two years that tire sat in their inventory against the 'age' of the tire's warranty which made it 'impossible' for them to service. Stay as far away from Discount Tire as your car will take you. They also own Tire Rack now too which was the best on-line tire retailer. read more

Had 4 Goodyear endurance 235/80 16's put on my travel trailer. In at 10:30 and out by 11:30. I would note that they don't have a drive through for rv's. You will have to turn your rig around in the parking lot, and there is ample room, in order to leave. So if you aren't comfortable maneuvering your rv you may want to go to another location. But the service was good, they were par with other prices and they had the tires in stock. read more

Tires are never cheap and if they are, you probably wouldn't want them. This local business is always helpful when friends and family need small repairs or just air and typically don't charge much if anything. So now that I needed tires on my car for winter, we definitely wanted to do business here. On the way, I logged on to Yelp and found out which tires they recommended and which discounts were available. We walked in and they offered to do them but they said it would be an hour and a half. We did end up purchasing those same tires (they were in stock) and walked to grab some lunch while we waited. It probably took less than an hour and we received a text message stating my car was ready to be picked up! When we got back, my husband was able to get a quick price for some tires for his truck (and found out about discounts as well ). Honest and sound advice! I went in (without an appointment) to get an estimate on winter tires. I was helped by Ricky. I asked him if it's a good idea to buy just the tires or the wheels too. He recommended, based on my specific circumstances (e.g., front and rear tires are different in size), that I just buy tires. He explained to me that (i) it would cost a lot because I would also have to buy tire pressure sensors and (ii) I may not like the look with aftermarket wheels because I drive a new Mercedes Benz AMG coupe. When I arrived at DISCOUNT TIRE early the next morning, I was helped by Liam. I explained what I was looking for and the research I had done. We went over the options and made a great choice for my two new tires. Michael, did the actual work on my car. He delivered it with a smile when he was finished. I went in for a flat tire for them to end up replacing 3 of my tires and not even fixing the flat I needed replaced. $300 later for me just to blow a flat on the freeway one week later. I bought my tires from Discount about four years ago. They've been great. One of my tires continually went low and they replaced the stem and fixed the problem (all for free). This past week, I'm driving the 25 miles from Birch Bay and see my low pressure indicator on. I pulled into Discount Tire and they informed it my back right passenger tire was FLAT! I had an appt I had to get to, so they pumped up the tire for me to make the appt. I came back afterward and awaited their diagnosis: a screw had gone in at the worst possible spot in my tire and couldn't be repaired. AND they don't make that tire anymore. They have a buy back deal (since I still had a lot of tread on my tires because I don't drive that far) and I ended up with four brand new tires for $300. Not bad! read more

Made appointment to replace a single tire. Dropped off vehicle, everybody was super cheery and nice. Walked around after receiving a short time estimate. Came back and waited in the lobby for another 30-40 minutes while their crew kept up with customers. Got bored and proceeded to ask when vehicle would be ready, and they said it was all done! No call, text, or talking to me (sitting 20ft away with no obstructions). They just let me wait there like an idiot, wasting my time. I get that retail environments can be hectic and busy, but take care of the customers who are literally twiddling their thumbs and are all ready. Even automatic tools like texts can circumvent these problems. Edit to say: if you are going to go with Discount Tire because of pricing or availability, please look into the Lakeway location. They've been respectful and prompt, and don't place the onus on the customer to get checked out. They call as soon as it's done. read more

To preface, I believe Discount Tire is a fantastic company. That said, am VERY disappointed in this brand new location. Didn't start well when the tire delivery truck blocked the parking lot and essentially got stuck (what was the building contractor thinking?). Walking up at other locations, I'm used to employees immediately greeting you and asking what you need. Here they look the other way and pretend you're not there. At the service counter, there was one overloaded supervisor, instead of the two or three at other locations, who promised "be right with you", however was doing three things at once.
