I ordered take out from this place and it was not what I was expecting. The staff was super friendly when I placed the order over the phone, but the food was subpar. I got a small cheese pizza and cheesy garlic bread. The pizza tasted like cardboard and the cheesy garlic bread did not have any garlic on it. They also do not give you aside of marinara with the cheese bread. Overall, I do not recommend this place to anyone for pizza. Stopped in yesterday before checking out the Italian festival. We got the caprese pizza, the speciality pizza of the week. It was delicious! Good balance of salty and sweet from the balsamic reduction. The new owner let us know they were trying some new things out and that it was going to be ready in 15 minutes. Went here once and ordered a sub to-go. I was the only person in the entire place. I waited 30 minutes. The counter person looked at me several times and said nothing. After 30 minutes I asked about the status of my sub and they said "oops we forgot to make it" - How could they forget when I am the only person in the entire place? The next time I went, I asked for one slice of cheese pizza to go. They responded, "we don't have any pizza right now. You'll have to wait 10-15 minutes." Only pizza place I have ever gone to that didn't have pizza. The slice ended up tasting like microwave garbage. During the year I lived in Akron, I had the displeasure of eating a numerous distasteful restaurants. So, my fiance and I walked in here not expecting much at all. It is, after all, a college town pizza place and the rest of the restaurants in the area aren't much to write home about. I was pleasantly surprised. First off, the atmosphere is cute. There's a lot of fun paintings on every surface, there's cute goldfish, and some nice photos. Secondly, the pizza was really good. We good a Hawaiian (it had a specialty name, but I forget it) which had the standard pineapple, bacon and ham. I expected passable pizza, but it was so good. Quality ingredients and uber tasty. There's only two reasons this gets a 4 star review: the guy at the counter kept wiping his nose on his arm (he didn't make the pizza or any one else's, we watched that) and the prices are super high. $9.99 for a small pizza (6 slices) barely bigger than a personal pan pizza. We didn't realize that we'd have to pay an ear just for a pizza. ;) Yeah. I went there. Get over it. read more

I had this pizza about 10 years ago and I remember it being a decent thin crust and a place where you could get pizza by the slice. Not at all the same place. It doesn't even look the same inside....much much worse. Everything is filthy. I am not sure why we decided to still order an anti pasta salad and 2 slices of pepperoni, but we did. I was also a little confused as to how this cost $14. Our $9 anti pasta salad included rotten olives, rolled lunch meat and mushy tomatoes. The pizza would have probably tasted better out of a microwave. It was a doughy, sloppy mess with very acidic sauce and greasy low quality cheese. So we ordered 3 pizzas and some wings, started talking with the guys behind the counter a bit. Joking around and having a great experience and then they went on about making our pizzas. We were joking about them not having many tips in the tip jar and were poking fun about it. ALL having a good time shooting the breeze. THEN! These are the dumbest people I have ever dealt with. Decent food made worst by in competence. I ordered food for delivery. I paid with a charge card and afterwards stated delivery would be almost an hour. I would not have ordered if I had known that. After an hour and 15 minutes, no delivery. They tell me they forgot to get my address and phone. One would think they had caller ID and can pull up recent calls. I was told they did not know whether to prepare my food since they had no contact information. How stupid can one be? They should have known I would have called about my food since they charged my card. I called inquiring about my order. I said I hope I will not take an hour as I was told the first time. They said no, it should not take an hour. It will take 45 minutes or so. WTF?! Dumb! Poor customer service! Never again will I order or suggest this pizza shop to anyone else. I called the next day to confirm credit card cancellation and the day shift guy says I have to wait for second shift guy. The day shift guy says he doesn't have time to check on it!
