Stopped into Courthouse Pizzeria while spending the afternoon in Medina Square. The location is great, right on the corner of the square. We grabbed a high-top window seat, which was perfect for people-watching and taking in the charm of the downtown area. The pizza is thin-crust New York style, and the slices were a decent size. We each ordered a slice and shared a drink. At $5 for a cheese slice plus $1 per topping, I felt it was a little pricey for a single slice. I wished I had just ordered a whole pizza instead. The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and ideal if you're looking for a quick bite while exploring the square. The young man who took our order was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with another staff member wasn't as positive. When I asked for a to-go cup for my son's drink, the young woman helping us came across as rude. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the convenient location, and the pizza. A few service inconsistencies kept it from being a 5-star experience, but I'd still stop in again when visiting Medina Square. read more

Stopped to try for the first time. Pizza was ok. Light on the sauce. The sauce and sausage seemed like food service ready to use products. Not fresh / homemade. For the price of the pizza, this would have helped the value perception. Pricing was a little high. Ordered a side salad. This was nice! Good portion and fresh veggie toppings. We ate in the store. There was a very strong sour beer or sewer odor present. Not sure if it was coming from the little bar area in the back of the store. It was a little underwhelming for our first visit. read more

I am absolutely SHOCKED that this pizza place is not rated higher than it is. I hope my glowing review helps this. I used to live in Medina (I actually used to run the Family Video and did a a couple "Dinner and Movie promos with the owner of Courthouse Pizza) but have moved about an hour away 4 years ago. I used to go to Courthouse Pizza religiously. When my partner and I were craving an authentic New York slice, I figured a road trip was necessary to introduce her to Courthouse Pizza. Atmosphere: Right on the corner, you can't deny the pull that this little pizza shop has. Dough being made in the window, the open door on nice days that fills the square with an amazing aroma and that mouthwatering menu that draws your eye without breaking your bank. Everyone is so friendly, they have a couple tables outside for nicer days and they don't mind even bringing your pizza out to you even when you sit out there. Food: There are MANY options when it comes to slices. It's not that shop where your only option is cheese or pepperoni. There are also a lot of whole pie options, build your own options and you can even buy your own dough to make your own pie at home! To introduce my partner, she is a sucker and she would say a connoisseur when it comes to Hawaiian pizza. I think you could tell by the look of her face that she was impressed. She absolutely loved it! She said hands down it was in top 3 Hawaiian pizzas she ever tried? Me? I am not much for the frills and extras. Nothing is better for me than a plain cheese slice with that amazing dough, sauce and topped with a little red pepper flakes. As usual, it was the perfect bite. I can't imagine being in Medina and getting pizza anywhere else. read more

We ordered the XL New York style pizza. The pizza is a thin crust pizza. I like that it was thin. It comes lite on sauce and cheese. So May want to order with heavier sauce and cheese The sauce did not have much flavor, but with it only having a little on it, by getting heavier sauce and cheese the flavor may come out a little stronger. The crust is not crispy, but also is not flimsy We ate one piece then brought it home, when home I put a piece in a skillet on high heat, added a few drops of water, then covered with a lid for about 3-4 minutes. This process made the crust have a little crunch. If I could suggest something for them to do would cook a little longer to firm up the bottom of the crust This is a 3-4 rating, after firming up the crust it moved up to a 5 51/2 rating. I hope this helps when ordering from here. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite during the No Kings Day rally, and had quite possibly the worst pizza ever. The order was taken and the slices arrived hot. They were huge, with all three being chicken with garlic sauce. All three pieces were cooked the same, just shy of raw, and half way through we noticed a lot of oil soaking into the serving papers. After inquiring, we discovered it was from the oil used to make the garlic sauce. (Oil and garlic powder to be exact!) The only saving grace was the amount of chicken used. Dominos could learn from their example. We won't be coming back, ever. read more

I mean you can't go wrong with Courthouse Pizzeria. Easily so of the best pizza this side of town. I love a place where you can just simply buy a slice because I don't always want a whole pizza. Even got a slice to travel with me, and the pizza held up nicely! Easily would recommend. read more

Got a slice for myself and my son and it was delicious! I will definitely be returning.

Stopped in for a quick bite while in the area. It was slammed. Because of this the staff was working hard, but no one addressed us and it was our first time so we were a bit clueless in ordering, tables, etc. Pizza was okay, but a bit basic. Same with the cheesy breadsticks. read more

When I read the reviews of this place being known for their thin crushed pizza, I made sure that I drove over 30 minutes across Cleveland to try it out. Unfortunately, this is not a thin crust pizza in fact, just a regular pizza and I'm not sure why they call it a thing. The ingredients refresh and the pizza was tasty, but I was just so letdown because this was not a thin crushed. The restaurant was clean and positioned in the downtown area. I however found the service there difficult. They wanted me to use the self serve kiosk instead of Ordering directly and when I asked for the Wi-Fi, they told me it was only for transacting credit cards. Then to top it off the music sounded like screamo. I'm sorry to say that I won't be back because I really wanted to like this place. read more

Loved it. I was greeted at the door with smiles. Love the decor and old school music in the background. Enjoyed a great slice of pizza that had REAL pepperoni & the crust was darn near perfect. I will definitely pick this over a visit to a fast-food joint for a quick lunch. I would probably be here at least once a week if I lived in the Medina area because I consider myself addicted to good pizza. Far better than any chain pizza I've had. Cherish this place, Medina!! read more

First time visitor with wife and son. Ordered at the counter extra large NY thin white sauce pizza for dine in (about $34 with tax). Comes with pesta and tomatoes. Asked for 1/2 half with tomatoes and the other half with sausage ($1 extra). Easy peasy, no issues. Pie was ready in about 15 minutes, obviously hot. Was tasty, good amount of toppings. No issues. Service was fine. Overall was a good pie. Crust was bit bland, was thin like New York but not the same texture/consistency as real New York thin (my wife is a Sicilian from New York, she knows pie). Was a pleasant meal, fair price, good service. read more

First and last time ordering from them. Ordered online 90 minutes of my requested delivery time so I could time the delivery for visitors arriving at the house. Delivered ice cold pizza. Ice cold. Obviously was made when my order was placed (90 minutes ago) and then only delivered when I asked for it to be delivered. Called to complain and nobody even bothered to pick up after multiple attempts. read more

We've been consuming Courthouse Pizza since we moved to Medina five years ago. This is consistetly some of the best pizza I've had anywhere. This was honestly the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was dry, the sauce tasted like it came from a can, and the toppings were barely there. On top of that, it was ridiculously overpriced for what you get. I've had better frozen pizza from the grocery store. The service was slow, and the atmosphere didn't make up for the lackluster food. It's frustrating to spend so much and leave still hungry and disappointed. Don't waste your time or money coming here--there are way better pizza places around that actually care about quality. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

Stopped by after some indoor mini golf during family fun day we had in the area. Very cute spot in downtown Medina. We liked that you can choose a full pizza or individual slice. I got the buffalo chicken slice and it was 100% awesome! My husband got a slice of pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni was the curled crispy... chef's kiss! The kids got a slice of cheese and the kids meatballs. The meatballs came with garlic bread too. Definitely a positive experience. read more

Wonderful place to grab some very good slices. Very pleasant people working here. Pizza is a large thin crust slice that they actually cut in two. Toppings are fresh. Perfectly cooked. Only a couple of high tops, each window, to sit at. Free slice just for checking on with the YELP AP! read more

Very rude, wouldn't open the door at 1115am, don't leave a woman inside by herself if you're that scared of customers. Have been searching all over Ohio for a great NY style pizza and we finally found it here in Medina. It's all about the crust and this place knows it. The dough rises for 2 days before becoming the perfect crust for these incredible pies. Fresh, generous toppings on the 18". The staff was very friendly and answered all questions we had with confidence. Will definitely be going back to try more items on the menu like their hot subs and salads. Excellent greeting upon arriving :) The smells from this place on the square just pulled me in! Families and couples and just people popping in to get pick up orders, it was hopping! I got the meatball extra cheese on an 18inch! I love how the meatball is cut up, keeps the pizza in one piece when it's making that voyage to my mouth! BIG slices if you get by the slice! They have Pepsi products :) yay! The pizza is so amazing! Obviously served hot and made specifically for you! Parmesan and hot pepper flakes ready on hand and lots of paper towels, so dig in and don't worry about the mess!! This place is a must! Get here !!!!!! read more

Was truly hoping that we'd love this place, but alas we just can't. We ordered a 16" pizza, half cheese and half topped with pepperoni. On the PLUS side, the sauce and cheese were tasty, and the half of the pizza with pepperoni had an adequate amount of topping. But on the MINUS side: A 16" pizza cut into only 4 pretty soggy crust slices makes for a challenge to eat. In addition, the 4 slices were not cut through and instead of 2 slices with pepperoni and 2 without, it was about 1-1/2 slices without and 2-1/2 slices with pepperoni. Now for my other objections. Our 16" pizza cost $17.50 plus tax; the total bill was $22.95, not an inexpensive pizza. But we had to eat a soggy crust pizza off paper plates which are smaller than each piece, causing them to hang over the edge of the paper plates. And we struggled to cut and eat with VERY flimsy plastic utensils. It was almost impossible to cut and/or eat each piece, and my husband realized when he finally gave up trying that at some point, he'd snapped off part of a tine from his flimsy plastic fork and had eaten it! The LEAST that could be offered are real plates and silverware for dine in customers. I don't want to fight with my food on a too-small paper plate with very small and flimsy plastic utensils! And I certainly don't want to ingest part of my fork! Especially when you have to wait on yourself, and clean up after yourself. We love pizza, and would probably eat there frequently, but unless they begin serving on real plates with real utensils, we can spend our almost $23.00 for pizza elsewhere, where we are waited on, cleaned up after, and have a more pleasant eating experience. Really sorry and disappo read more

The pizza is good but they recently decided to halve the size of their single slice but don't mention that which just seems dishonest. All of their picture of their slice are incorrect and it's more like 1/8th of a pizza instead of 1/4th read more

I was walking by with my friend and we saw people eating what looked to be good pizza so we stopped in for dinner. We each did the $5.99 slice and soda special. You do get charged on top of that price for toppings. Upon arriving, the only two open tables had dirty plates and such from other guests on them. We had to actually clear off the table and sanitize it ourselves. Next, for one slice of pizza it took a long time to get it out to us. When it was brought out it looked not great at all. It was actually two slices of pizza and my adding pepperoni was a mistake because it made that pizza so greasy! Grease was dripping off and I had a puddle on my plate. Ugh. I heard the slices are reheated when they add toppings and stuff and I just don't like that. It makes the pizza hard. I guess the grease is to help rehydrate it. Also, flavor was lacking. Overall this trip was disappointing and I'd more than likely never come back. read more
