I stood there waiting to be acknowledged before anyone came over. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like when someone walks into a business, a simple, "Hi! We'll be right with you," goes a long way. I work in hospitality, so that's just something I naturally notice and appreciate. The funny part? As other people came in, I noticed they were greeted, so I couldn't help but wonder... was it just me? Oh well. Now, credit where it's due ....the food was actually really good! I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and banana pepper pizza with a small drink, and my total was about $21. The pizza was a great size, and I really enjoyed it. I honestly would have given you guys 5 stars because the food deserves it. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the lack of acknowledgment when I first walked in. A simple hello or "We'll be right with you" really does make a difference. Other than that, I'd definitely come back for the pizza. Hopefully next time I'll get the greeting too.

Not only did the restaurant smell amazing from the baking pizzas, but it was also tastefully decorated for Christmastime and cozy. We were seated immediately, and our server was attentive and helpful, making us feel welcome and even offering suggestions on their best-selling pizzas. I ended up ordering the sausage pizza, and while the pizza as a whole was outstanding, the sauce was the best I have ever had. Whatever their sauce recipe is, it was unbelievable, and it will be difficult to top that particular sauce. My friend enjoyed his pizza as well, saying it was one of the best pizzas he had ever tasted. Il Rione is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I will be more than happy to return the next time I am in the Cleveland area.

For pizza, we ordered the larger size sausage pie (red sauce, mozzarella, roasted peppers, sautéed onions, garlic and parmesan). Thin crust with a good bite that holds its integrity pretty decently. Overall, this os probably one of the better pizzas in Cleveland.

Uncle Spikes is half of a small building just East of the center of Aurora, the shop is takeout only, a simple counter, one cooler and the kitchen behind a wall in back. My pizzas were ready and nicely cooked; the presentation is simple the pizza boxes are just plain, no logos or writing which is fine. The pizzas are very good, the crust is excellent, the cheese near perfect, and the cooking was the way I prefer it a bit well done. The only problem I had was that there was almost no sauce on my pizzas; with a good sauce these could be some of the best pizzas in the area. I did enjoy the pizza over the next couple days, especially since I could add some toppings including chopped and sun dried tomatoes; the reheated pizza is excellent. The large pizza with the regular crust is big enough that 1/4 of the pie makes a good meal; the small thin crust is also very good since this makes for an even cheesier taste. Uncle Spike's does a really good pizza, the portion size is generous, the quality is excellent, the only issue for me was the lack of sauce, I don't know if this is their usual approach or if it was just a mistake.
