My fiancé is from the area and his parents still live nearby, so we've come here a couple times when we're in town. The service we get is always extremely friendly and accommodating, and topped off with a smile. I guess I'm used to Boston area spots where that's somewhat rare, but this place just has that friendly hometown type of vibe. The wine served in a chicken pitcher might be one of my favorite things ever. Their tap list is also really nice and the man can always find something local from either Bissell or Maine Beer that he loves. Obviously the garlic knots are killer. Food is pretty consistent, we usually either do pizza or pasta and I've basically liked most of what we've tried. This isn't some fancy upscale establishment, but if you want welcoming service with decent food this is a great option. read more

It's gone down since it has reopened you can tell by the way they change their menu and taste is not the same service with my waitress was fair They're probably not paying them enough maybe shape up or ship out The obvious it's still there from years ago almost but I almost sometimes just don't get it. We're all having a hard time but if you want him to come into your business, you need to remember how you ran it before. The only good thing is perhaps the ambience that has the change to watch drinks for horrible. I forgot to tell you that. Davincis is amazing! The fresh garlic rolls they serve before your meal are to die for, and anything you could order is always delicious!

There were 4 of us. We waited forever for our drinks. The calamari had way too much breading; we didn't eat any of it, and the waitress did nothing. Our pasta dishes were very good. read more

Everyone liked their food, and the prices were reasonable. I initially order chicken picatta; my wife asked if I could have veal picatta instead. The cook made it and the dish was excellent. The sauce was not too creamy, and there were ample capers and mushrooms. The Italian Wedding soup was good. The facility was interesting with a industrial feel with classic mopeds, motorcycles, and bicycles around the space. It is youth friendly and low key. Ten years ago I worked a job in Auburn. I ate at Davinci's a few times and liked it. We have been living & working elsewhere, so didn't get back to Davinci's until today. It was good. We started with cocktails & baked oysters. The waitress was not familiar with what was available for bourbon, but we managed to score some Makers Mark and they had Knob Creek as well. The oysters were overwhelmed by their other ingredients, but the presentation was nice and blotting up the overload of pancetta with the garlic knots worked for me. The weakest part of the pre-dining experience was the oil that was presented with the garlic knots. They really should put out a decent extra virgin, perhaps with some rosemary or something infused within. I'm not sure what was offered was even olive oil. Mazola perhaps? It had some rosemary, oregano, and red pepper flakes in it, but it was blah. We opted for the Caesar salad upgrade which was pretty good. At least it had anchovies in it. So many places now a days leave out the anchovies which I believe to be integral to a Caesar. Davinci's slipped in some roasted red pepper that added some color without detracting from the Caesar affect. For entrees, my wife had chicken parm ; I had veal parm. Both were good. The sauce could have been kicked up a bit with some herbs, but at least it wasn't sugared like it is in so many other places. We particularly liked the chicken pitcher that vomited the house plonk. I'm serious: I think we might pick one up for our house the next time we're in Portland. And this is the crowning achievement: our waitress at no time asked if we were "working on it." A+ for service. She even placed our leftovers in plastic containers for us rather than the, unfortunately, more common practice of just providing a container so that I can spill sauce on the table or my shirt as happens in far too many places. I came here for my birthday dinner with my family. Davinci's was recommended to me by my sister and her husband, who had nothing but great things to say. The calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the fried provolone was delicious. I enjoyed the Italian wedding soup but the greens and orzo in it were maybe a tad overcooked. My entree was the seafood pomodoro and it was excellent. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. Everyone's meals looked excellent (my brother in law got something with mushrooms and bleu cheese... I NEED to try it next time I go!). Because it was my birthday, I got a free small gelato (and our waitress was awesome enough to honor my request of no singing) which was heavenly-- salted caramel. Yum! My critiques? A more heavy-bodied olive oil for dipping, as the herbed oil was just too light and didn't have that wonderful olive oil flavor, and scale back on the pricing of drinks. I understand drinks are what makes a restaurant money but my beer was $8. That's a lot. read more

Passed the place we were originally going to eat at, didn't want to turn around, so we stopped to check it out. Eatery is located in an old mill building, the parking is across the way, down the one way Mill St. Pizza lunch buffet!!! Currently a check in $2 off pizza buffet 3/2017. It's a pretty neat set-up they have. Huge space inside with a bar area in the back, buffet in the middle, gelato/dessert case and specialty drinks off to the side. Interior is industrial, not too off the mark for a mill building, but warm and the booth tables were intimately separated by a privacy wall. It has some cool touches inside, motorcycles hanging from the walls. Definitely a place for friends and family. There's even a semi separated area for large parties. We went about 11:30am and it wasn't too busy, but it did start filling up not too much later. Our waitress was friendly and explained what the buffet entailed. She was attentive and pleasant. Very good salad bar, not too many random fixings, but a nice mix. Two soups to try from today. Standard: cheese, pepperoni, & dessert pizzas, there're two additional chef's choice pizzas during the 11am-2pm hrs. The pizza was good, not too thin, not too doughy, sauce didn't stand out, but overall the pizza was tasty. The slices are half the size of regular slices, but that's to be expected... better able to sample all the varieties of pizza! Great new find (for me!) and I'm sure a local fave. read more

We went to DaVinci's to celebrate my mom getting a new job! It was the perfect place to sit and relax with 6 people and not have to worry about being rushed out as soon as we are finished eating. First I will say the service was slow, but the food is excellent. We especially love the eggplant parmesan and the garlic knots. The garlic knots are endless so get as many as you would like. The pizza leaves a little to be desired so stick with the entrees. Overall not a bad place for a larger party. read more

Came with a group on a busy Sunday night. The service was slow even after the restaurant emptied, even in the bar there was a long wait to order a single drink. The restaurant was decorated with some cool vintage scooters. We had a long wait for a table but enjoyed cocktails in the bar. They even let us much on some complimentary garlic knots. The raspberry delight was sweet and fruit concoction. The blueberry mojitos was refreshing but needed more mint. The Bloody Mary was quite strong. They have a large beer list. They have a good wine selection as well. They serve pitchers of wine in an adorable chicken pitcher. (This is an Italian tradition meant to be served to friends and family to protect them from trespassers and danger ). We ordered our meals and continued to much on garlic knots. These soft bread apps were addicting. I could eat a meal of just these or eat so many I take most of meal home as I did this night. The chicken amore was delicious combination of plenty of cheesy creamy Alfredo chicken sausage and some veggies. The buffalo chicken pizza was cheesy goodness with a crunchy crust. The melanzuna was a wonderful dish with perfectly cooked eggplant flavorful red sauce and plenty of veggies. Maybe next time I will try dessert first so I have room. read more
