Let me start by saying that Nashua would have only received one star, because I went there first, and that the low rating here is primarily for the alterations department. If you would like to buy a dress from David's Bridal, you should come to this location and not Nashua and then have it altered somewhere else. The great thing about the set up here is that you get to look at every dress. They are all lined up in one area and instead of looking by size which is really frustrating, you get to look at all of the dresses and pick them out based on style and then someone gets the sizes for you. I loved this, which is why I bit he bullet and paid the ridiculous MA state sales tax on my dress. I could have just found the one I wanted and then ordered it from nashua but it was an expensive dress and I thought I was being nice by giving them the sale? I don't know. The day I bought my dress this really nice amazing older lady came over to talk to me about alterations and fittings. It seemed like most things I had read, that there would be three fittings spaced out between then and the wedding. I never saw that nice lady again and that is not what happened. When I showed up for my first fitting there was another lady who had a sour look on her face and didn't seem to listen to what I wanted. We got through it. We scheduled the next appointment and the day before I was supposed to go I had to make the decision to reschedule due to an incoming snow storm (I live in NH, so traveling 2-3 hours in the snow is not that great). First, the woman on the phone couldn't find my dress in the system, which immediately freaked me out and put me on edge. Then she asks me if it's my first fitting and I was like, "NO, you have my dress, how could this be my first fitting!?!" Two times she asked me if it was a wedding gown or bridesmaids dress. Basically the entire conversation I was losing faith in her. Then at one point she couldn't understand that all I wanted to do was move the appointment because of the snow, so she audibly scoffed at me and handed the phone to someone else without saying anything. With the second lady I rescheduled just fine, but I am told that the appointment is pick up only and they DO NOT do third fittings. I asked what happens if it doesn't fit and was told that they try to fix any minor issues right then. Skip to the appointment. The woman there is the first rude lady from the phone but I didn't say anything. I try the dress on- the quality was pretty bad. In one spot the application over the sheer part of the dress was completely falling off. Then in many other places it was just loose. I pointed it out and she did take the dress right away to go fix it. When she was done she packaged it all up again and was mad that I wanted to try it on again. Don't you understand that I don't trust you to do a good job now?? Anyway, it looked okay in the end but I didn't mention that I thought my bustle looked bad. The lack of communication about fittings and the stress of them not knowing where my dress was was terrible. I also wish I had known that I wouldn't get another fitting because I would have scheduled it closer to my actual wedding. I've never been married before, how am I supposed to know how this works? This is your job to explain to me, you are the expert! Anyway, my dress itself is beautiful. I may take it somewhere else to have something changed. What a different experience at this store versus the one in Dedham, MA. It was SO MUCH better, cleaner, they had a larger selection, the staff was excellent and actually wanted to be there and genuinely liked their jobs. I have learned that, if all possible, try and go on a weekday or after work from M-Th so as to avoid crowds. Other than one other girl, I was the only one in the store. Suzie was the designer/assistant assigned to help me pick my dress. I told her this was for a wedding only a month away and that I wanted an "off the rack" short dress or a bridesmaid dress. She was happy to accommodate. No problems, no questions. They had ALL sizes ranging from 2-30 in lots of colors and styles and the dresses were in VERY good condition. Clean, no stains and all the zippers, buttons and hooks were in perfect working order. The dressing rooms were very clean and good sized with mirrors everywhere, even on the doors so you could see yourself from every angle, and there were plenty of chairs for guests to sit in. The manager even came by to see how everything was going. Suzie helped me in and out of dresses, brought them in, took them away, exchanged sizes, etc. She was professional, friendly and VERY easy to get along with. She did not offer criticism (good or bad) unless I asked but rather let me decide for myself first. She did however throw in a dress or two that she thought would look good on me in addition to my selections which was helpful and really nice. I would DEFINITELY recommend David's Bridal in Danvers, MA. Not only did I end up with the perfect dress, but the greeter, designer/assistant, manager, sales clerk, and seamstress were all very nice to work with. A+ service! read more

Davids Bridal was my first stop for wedding dress shopping. I first had gone to the Davids Bridal in Nashua and it was crazy!!!! Yes it was a Saturday appointment But i didn't think is was going to be like that is was just overwhelming with people. I found a dress I though I liked, I guess 2 others liked it too. I didn't end up getting the dress at that time. I ended up going to the Davids Bridal in Danvers any there was no one their!! It was nice to not have the craziness of other people talking over you. The dresses were pretty and had a good range for prices. My consultant was rude, snippy, and made me feel uncomfortable the entire time. This was my first experience dress shopping and I will NOT being coming back to David's Bridal in Danvers. My person was extremely pushy, rude and mean to my group and talked about herself the entire time. She didn't really listen to what I wanted and when I mentioned my dream dress (a Hayley Paige that I can not afford), she said this is David's Bridal you get what you see. The reason I went was because I heard of their great pricing. She didn't even ask me about a budget and the dress I liked the most was way over budget. She wouldn't "jack" me up until I gave the dress a high number (9.5 or higher). It's been a few days and the whole experience is still bothering me. I don't even remember her name but my whole party apologized for me. * My partner had a different consultant and had a great time and the party enjoyed the time with the other consultant. I live in an area that doesn't have a David's Bridal shop, so I had to go to Danvers for a bridesmaid dress. The woman who gave me the dresses to try on was not very personable and didn't seem interested; she just gave me the 3 dresses and walked away. I picked out a dress and made an appointment for alterations, which was at 4:30 pm. I arrived early and asked if it would be possible to come in early for the alterations, but they said they had other appointments booked, which I understood so I went in and waited. And waited. It was quiet, so I peeked in the back and apparently they forgot about me, so my 4:30 appointment became a 5:30 appointment. While the person was doing the alterations, she asked me if I was the mother of the bride. I said no, this was my brother's first marriage at age 56, and I'm a bridesmaid. I told this story later to my son, who is 14, and he said that she should have asked what relation I was to the bride instead of assuming I'm the mom. I'm 53 so I'm not young, but you don't ask this to anyone! Anyways, I went back a week before the wedding and the dress still didn't fit right in the shoulder and hemline. I told them that I live 2 hours away, so they said they could fix it at that moment, it would take about 45 minutes. When I came back I was still stepping on the hemline. The day of the wedding, I put on the dress and the snap at the top was missing so I had to use a safety pin. The shoulder was also still not right so I had to use tape to hold it up. It makes me wonder if they even fixed it?? During the wedding I kept holding my dress up so I wouldn't trip on it. This is my first negative Yelp review because I really don't like to trash companies, but then I figured that if you're a bride and are going to spend a lot of money for your special day and want it to be perfect and stress-free, you might want to go elsewhere. read more

I was underwhelmed and disappointed with my experience at David's Bridal. Having seen the commercials and saved my favorites to a special folder online, I was ready to find the dress of my dreams. Unfortunately, of the 15+ dresses saved, they only had two of them in the store (in champagne, I saved white) and were not very accommodating when I asked about the possibility of ordering the others. It blew my mind that (according to sales associate Samantha) they do not send dresses to/from other stores, cannot tell which other stores have the dress that's on their online store, do not order dresses online and do not ship the dress you purchase outside the US. I really wanted this Vera Wang that was online, and when discussed this was told, "You can order it and it'll look like you'll get it then later you could be told that it isn't available and you'll have a store credit that you can only swap for a dress of equal or greater value". Although the store is huge with a ton of dresses, most of them were sweetheart neck mermaid dresses (yawn) and princess looking ball gowns. I was looking for something unique and modern. In any event, I found a few to try on (about 6 total). Every time I came out of the changing room, my assistant was no where to be found. A bridesmaid that came with me, ended up straightening up most of the gowns I tried on. If you do find a dress you love, expect to wait 26 weeks for it. With the aforementioned in mind, the dressing room area was well lit and they had a large array of veils and accessories including shoes, belts and jewelry. They also have some cute "sweating for the wedding" work out tops that I would've purchased, had the service not been so lackluster. I ended up going to another salon (Bella Será Bridal) which was about 5 minutes away and found so many cute gowns there with the most helpful staff. read more

I went here to shop for my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. The woman that helped me the first time was amazing, however she left. The second woman that helped me was terrible!! She ordered all different bridesmaid dresses for my bridesmaids and all in random colors. Thank god one of my bridesmaids couldn't make it that day, so when yes went to order hers, she noticed the mistake! They could have given a shit less and then after it was fixed by the manager in the Nashua location (who was actually amazing). OK, before you even consider going to David's Bridal, you'll be a lot happier if you make peace with the fact that it's David's Bridal. The quality isn't top notch. It's not a boutique where you're going to get lots of attention and need an appointment. It's a big old store with lots of dresses on racks and really pushy salespeople -- who, in my experience, were very nice, but pushy. That said, you'll have a lot of options. My mom suggested we just hit it up one Sunday afternoon the week before I had an appointment at J. Crew, just for kicks. Lo and behold, I found The Dress. It wasn't too expensive, the woman who helped us, Georgia, was very nice, and I'm the type of person who's happier digging through everything on my own Filene's-style with no one bothering me than having someone walk me through a bunch of dresses that I mostly don't like. HOWEVER. David's Bridal will give your information to everyone and their mother. Expect phone calls from Men's Wearhouse and other related stores. Lots of spam. Ouf. This was extremely annoying. I also have to say that given a second go around, I might have shopped around a bit more. My dress was my dress and I loved it, but it never quite fit the way it should have -- and that wasn't the seamstress's fault, it just wasn't made as well as it could have been. So, I can't give it a glowing endorsement, but I would suggest that you just go and check it out. You could be surprised! read more

Let's get started straight from the beginning. The day I called David's to make an appointment I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes. When the woman came back on the phone she asked when I would like to make my appointment for and booked it in less then 1 minute. Really? Smallest of issues. So the day of my appointment I walk in and am greeted by a woman who had me fill out ALL of my personal information and was trying to get me to sign up for a credit card. Talk about pushy sales tactics. I wasn't even sure I wanted a dress from here, I just wanted to get an idea of what style I want to continue looking for. After the girl had taken all of my information, she told me the name of the associate who would be assisting me. Several minutes later, a woman of a different name came to help us. The woman told me to come with her, and told my guests to have a seat. Well there are several dressing rooms with seating, so it would have been nice to maybe let them know exactly WHERE to sit. So we all just kind of stood there while she looked at us like were dumb. So after a moment of awkwardness she then lead us to the appropriate area. I had picked out favorites on the website. They had it printed there, but the majority of them were not available in store (even though on the website it said available online & in store). You would think that since they are expecting you and have a list of what you are looking for they would be a little more prepared. The woman led me to the floor and told me to start picking out some dresses from the racks. Why was I doing her job? And with hundreds of dresses, how was I supposed to know how to find the ones I had chosen online. After picking a handful of dresses, and ME carrying some to the fitting area, I began trying them on. The woman was not very helpful in getting me in and out of dresses. She was not mindful of the placement of where I needed to put my head and arms up and through the dress. She did not bring any clips into the room with her, so when I came out of the room, the dresses were not fitting at all and instead of being able to get a good look of what the dress may look like, I had to worry about trying to hold the dress to my body. Then when I didn't like a dress, she never took them out of the room. They were just taking up space in the small fitting room, so I eventually took it upon myself to grab them and passed them out through the door to my MOTHER and asked her to take them away. After trying on a dress the consultant would disappear in search of some dresses on my wish list. There was no rhyme or reason or any organization in this. She even kept telling me... "this is harder than it looks and that is why she was taking so long". She was apologetic, and nice, but she had no confidence in what she as doing and was not very good at it.This is her job, maybe she should figure it out. While she was out searching the floor, I was losing patience and started trying on the few dresses in my fitting room alone. She came back while I was in there and I heard her just outside the door talking with my family and finally asked through the door if I might need some help. You think? I was very disappointed in the service and just before I was about to call it quits, I looked to my family/ maid of honor and said that we should all go out and each pick one dress for me to try on. I ended up picking THE DRESS and we jacked it up with the help of ALLA who happened to be walking around the store. She was the only positive aspect of the entire experience. After I chose the dress, the consultant who was 'helping' me said that they do a bell ceremony. I don't know if it was her first time doing it, but it was very awkward and she forgot the saying or was just not sure what to say. That was a little odd. After reading the other reviews, I am not looking forward to receiving all kinds of junk mail, offers, or the alterations to come. The place is a disaster. I bought my wedding dress at David's Bridal in Danvers today and had a phenomenal experience. After trying out some fancier boutiques where my party and I were not given very good service, we tried David's Bridal and were very impressed with the service. Our saleswoman, Michea, was very attentive. She gave great suggestions, but was never pushy. When we needed new sizes or wanted to check out a different style, she gladly and graciously found what we needed. She was aware of our budget, venue, and listened to what I was looking for in a dress. Other staff of the store walked by periodically and gave their compliments. I really felt embraced by the whole team. When I found "the one" I felt like everyone was genuinely happy for me and celebrated with me. The store was clean, spacious, and had a great selection of styles at many price points. I would highly recommend this store and was so glad I chose David's Bridal in Danvers. read more

I went to David's Bridal for the first time in Greenwood, IN because I was visiting my family and I wanted to try on wedding dresses so that my mom, step mom and sister could see them. I found a dress that I liked but I was not ready to buy. I also was not 100% sure about it and had tried on another dress at a different store that I also liked. Upon my return to New England, I kept thinking about the dress that I had tried on at David's Bridal. I decided that if I really couldn't stop thinking about it I should go try it on again to know for sure. Cindy helped me and was so great! She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I did not bring anyone with me this time because I wanted to make sure that what i felt about the dress was completely me and not what other people were reflecting onto me. I bought the dress. It was great and Cindy helped me realized that the only thing that was holding me back was saying yes, even though I had already made up my mind. She was extremely efficient with getting everything settled. She also had wonderful taste for the veil, and I ended up going with her suggestion since it was so great. I can't wait to go back and try on my dress again when it comes in. I will also be bringing my bridesmaid with me to find her dress and I will be requesting Cindy to help us! read more

I have to say a lot of people tried to get me to not go here... They said it was cheap made dresses people aren't good etc.... I think that davids bridal has been amazing!! Huge selections to chose from beautiful dresses !!! And the staff is nice !!! However I am really wanting to right a review about the alterations manager !! Her name is Mercedes and she's an angel! She is so patience and caring !! She knows what she's doing too !! She's so talented and has been doing this for so long and is such a pro !!! I really loved her !!! She was so Incredible !!! Brides beware! I will never shop here again. My experience here as been a nightmare. Not only are their sales techniques geared towards pressuring a bride to buy the same day, they double book appointments for brides when trying on dresses. I came in with my selection of gowns to try on and the assistants didn't bother to look at them to help me try them on. After months going back and forth for my fitting, and cleaning the following is advice for brides looking to buy from this place. 1. Don't do it, walk away from this place! 2. If you want to give this place a try, know this, they do not refund your bridal gown if you change your mind the next day. However, if you buy it online they do. If for some miracle they you get a store credit, you are forced to use all the credit the same day. They will not let you use it for anything else except to buy a new gown, and no you may not put it towards the alteration. (This is what I was told by multiple assistants at the Danvers store location.) 3. Davids Bridal does not carry "white". True White has to be special ordered so if you want to see dresses in "white", they are very limited to none in stock at the store. Don't waste your time on this place. For the money you spend on this place, there are plenty of family owned boutiques who will give you a wonderful experience and the perfect dress of your dreams. read more

The store itself was very lovely and had a lot of choices to choose from. However, our experience was less than ideal. We had booked our appointment over a month ago and were looking forward to it. We found our sale's associate to be rude and incompetent. She never once helped as we were looking at dresses. She didn't take our measurements until we asked her to towards the end of the appointment. When we asked if a particular dress came in a certain color, she said she didn't know. She kept asking us if we were in a bridal party or just looking for a fancy dress. She also said we would be going home with the sample dresses and not ordering our own. At one point, when one bridesmaid said she had found her dress, she looked at her and said "Oh wow. The Bride is going to let you wear that?!" If you are looking for a place that will treat you with respect and know what they are talking about, I would not come here! read more

My wedding is in two weeks and I had a dress that got a little messy after alterations. I had walked into davids bridal without an appointment hoping that I could at least try on ONE dress that I liked but the front desk told me there was no way because hey we're fully booked... luckily Christine showed up to my rescue! With only two weeks to my wedding you can imagine how much I would be freaking out but CHRISTINE WAS AN ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN!!!! She was able to squeeze me in even though she had another appointment and worked with me and the other bride at the same time. Not only did I get my dress I got my jewlery and shoes as well! Wouldn't recommend for alterations. I bought my dress at another DB location and came in for alterations. Knew from the start it would not be great after I put the dress on and the seamstress asked what I wanted as if the dress fit perfectly when it was very obviously ill fitting in the bust and waist (I had bought it a size up to ensure it could be altered to fit me perfectly). Another seamstress who was working with another client nearby had to instruct her on how to pin my dress so it would fit. I had to return with my own cups to be added to the dress which was inconvenient and time consuming. When I picked up my dress it felt tight but I figured I could make it work. After wearing it for several hours it was clear it was taken in too much or maybe they didn't account for what adding the cups would do to the fit and was so tight around my arm pits it was cutting into my skin and extremely uncomfortable. read more

I had a bad experience at a previous David's bridal. I vowed I would never attend another one. After panicking about not having a wedding dress I decided I would try another location. This brought me to the location in Danvers, MA. My whole perception of David's bridal changed because of the most kind sweet and honest woman Meredith. Literally an angel in disguise. J thank you so much Meredith for helping me find my dress. I am so so so grateful to you and the staff for making this experience so easy and happy. You've turned my frown upside down. I will continue to shop here for future events. EVERYONE here at this location was amazing. Whoever wrote that nasty review about Meredith needs a reality check and needs to get to know people before you judge them. Meredith had her own little boutique before working at David's bridal and it was mainly for PLUS size women to make them feel beautiful too. She is not a fat shamer in any way. Get a clue bozo. A friend of mine purchased her dress here recently for her wedding on November 2nd. They took her measurements, she mentioned it was too tight around the ribs, the lady said she would make a note of it. TRUSTING they know what they are doing, she left. Now that she has tried the dress on again at her final fitting, it does not fit!!!!! They not only did NOT write the note that it was too tight, but they RUINED her dress!!! Their attitude after... is appalling! "There's nothing we can do" "You signed a contract"... YEAH!! damm right, a contract where you are going to make the dress perfect! Make it fit, not disregard the bride when she says it's too tight. Being as kind and noble as she is, she just decided to give up, use it for the ceremony and then find a new dress at Marshall's for the remainder of her day.... which I find absolutely unacceptable!!! How dare you ruin a girls dress and not fix it... unbelievable, being an engaged girl myself I've decided NOT to go here for anything, and telling anyone who listens not to go here, there are plenty of other places that will listen to you and most likely have a better disposition if they ruin your dress for that special day. I could go on, and on about what I think of this place and how they treated my friend who couldn't or wouldn't speak up, but why waste my breath, better pass the word around as we all have decided at the bridal shower when we heard this horrible story. The woman who helped us instructed us to choose as many dresses as we wanted as it was the first time looking at dresses....we chose 12 and she made a comment about our choosing too many! Hey, David's Bridal... here's a wild idea - how about you don't sell my information to everyone in the New England area who is remotely involved in the wedding industry? Furthermore, by the time I begrudgingly came into your hellish store, I already had most of the details lined up for my wedding, which your sales associate knew, so it's EXTRA annoying to receive dozens of emails and crap in the mail for picking a wedding venue. I already have one. I didn't opt into your emails, and specifically asked to opt OUT of any of them. All that in the first 10 minutes of setting foot in your store! Maybe it's because I went on a Saturday, maybe it's because I'd already been to a smaller boutique (Bella Sera Bridal, right down the street on 114. Go there.) where the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Maybe I'm just an idiot. I don't know - but the David's Bridal experience was complete chaos, stressful, and frustrating. The woman that helped me probably meant well, but was just not getting what I was looking for. The night before my appointment I spent hours on their site marking favorite dresses to try on the next day. They're supposed to print out all of the dresses you favorite and help you find them when you visit the store. No dice. No dresses printed for me. Super! I spent the first 20 minutes trying to describe the 5 mediocre dresses I'd found online the night before. Fail. The woman (I forget her name, let's call her Lucile) was helping 2 other brides, and was running around the store like a chicken with her head cut off. She was pulling dresses left and right, all of which were horrible to me and despite my constructive criticism of each dress, she just wasn't getting it. She didn't appear to be listening. Maybe she had me confused with another bride. Maybe I was on Candid Camera, we'll never know for sure, I suppose. About halfway through my appointment (where I was closed in a tiny dressing room with some giant ass dresses in giant garment bags, left to my own devices to get said giant dress out of said giant bag and get myself into it and closed up enough to wiggle outside to have my MOH zip me up), I determined that this wasn't worth the hassle and that I was calling it quits. After more dress wrestling and jamming loads of tulle back into too-small garment bags, we handed off the dresses to another sales associate as Ms. Lucile was nowhere to be found. After probably 15 minutes we carefully told Lucile that we were going to head out. Rather than being understanding, she disappeared for a very long time, leaving us to awkwardly stand around trying to figure out where she went, if she was coming back, if she'd lose a hand or something because she didn't sell me a dress.... and finally she comes back and is all "did you find a dress?" Noooooo.. no we didn't. What? After more politeness from me, and more pushiness from her, I ultimately told her that we were going to another bridal shop to buy a dress I'd tried on that morning (Bella Sera Bridal on 114. Again, go there). Rather than *FINALLY* getting it and saying farewell.. she tried to get my future mother in law to show her a photo of me in the dress at the other shop to see if she could find one like it at David's Bridal. Nope nope nope. Please go away. So she wandered off again to find dresses and we ended up leaving. I was so overwhelmed, sweaty, frustrated, and disappointed in the experience that I actually ended up crying.. which was awkward because I totally was like "that bride" but alas, it happens to the best of us, I guess. Long story short: just go to Bella Sera Bridal. I got my dress there as a sample that was brand new to the shop and was half price. The experience was wonderful and the staff was very helpful. The quality of the dresses is lightyears better than the ones at David's Bridal (the tulle and satin and other fabrics at David's just felt rough and icky.. at least on the dresses that I tried on) With that being said, my older sister bought her beautiful ballgown from David's 10 years ago and had a totally different experience where she was treated nicely, wasn't rushed or frenzied, and ended up getting a fantastic, well-made dress. (This is how I ended up at David's in the first place!) I guess it could have been an off day, or maybe the store has changed hands or something. I don't know.. but judging by the other reviews here, it doesn't appear that I had a unique experience. End rant. read more

Having over a year until my wedding day, I hadn't been too worried about finding a dress. I didn't want to wear white, I wanted to lose a few pounds, I had no idea what styles to look for and I HATE trying clothes on! I am not your typical glowing, misty eyed bride-to-be. However, my mother and I decided it was time to research what styles would look best on a buxom figure like mine and against many peoples' advice, we ventured out to David's Bridal in Danvers. Upon entering the store a feeling of dread and nausea swept over me. NOT because of the environment of the store, but because of the huge numbers of racks with thousands of dresses in all different sizes and styles. I started feeling overwhelmed. But my mom, my friend and I started digging through sizes and found a few to start with. A very nice consultant by the name of Jyorjia (pronounced Georgia) came to put me into a fitting room. And though I had no appointment, she was happy to help me out and get me started. She filled out some paperwork and got together my petticoat, bra, shoes, and came into the fitting room to help me dress. She even laced me up in the back. After each dress I would step onto this little podium on the sales floor so my mom and friend (and everyone else in the store) could "ooh and ahhhh." Basically, I felt like a princess. The first dress proved to be the best of about 8 dresses. I actually blushed!!! AND got a little tear in my eye... I knew it was the one, so luckily, it was on sale AND they have 1 year financing with no interest! Perfect for me since my wedding is next October. So I bought it. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and answered my numerous questions. They set me up with fittings and even helped my mom explore options for herself and my little flower girls. The store was neat and organized. The floor samples of the dresses were clean and easy to find. They really made a stressful situation so much easier on me. And turned me into princess bride. We went on a Friday afternoon and there was barely anyone there. But by the time we left, around 5, things started picking up quite a bit. The consultants also told me that the weekends are insane so it's always best to make an appointment. Loss of one star for no champagne :( read more

This was my first time going out looking for a wedding dress. My original plan was to start at David's bridal and then move on to other stores. I am sure glad I started there. I had two appointments. One for my wedding dress and one of my bridal party. I thought there was no way we were going to all find dresses in 3 hours, but we did. It was the best experience and I'd love to thank Meredith. She made it very fun and exciting. She really listened to what I liked and what I didn't like. She pulled dresses based on what I told her and she hit the nail on the head. If I could give 0 stars, I would. this place is so ridiculous! so basically my kick-ass sis is getting married in October. Thank God it's not until then because with all of the mistakes that this place has made, it would have been a complete crapshow! Basically the only positive thing here is that there was a pretty good selection of dresses and it was clean, but I would still give 0 stars if I could. Here's the lowdown: 1. We go find my sis's dress. We are helped by an eager women who is clearly being pulled in toooo many directions so there is a lot of waiting involved. We find a beautiful dress for her! Although, it took a long ass time! 2. Bridesmaids enter stage left! There are a good amount to choose from, however, again it is a ridiculous timing sitch because of the lack of help. Also I would like to note that being in the store, I witnessed so much chaos and so many problems with other customers and their orders. It was really aggravating. 3. After finally getting through the ordeal of our consultant trying her best to help us, despite being pulled in a million directions, I choose my shoes that are going to be eventually dyed brown. 4. When we are at the checkout, I ask the woman checking us out if I can get my shoes dyed now. For some reason I am told to bring them back. So I order the dress, wait, come and get my dress and drop off my shoes to be dyed only to find out that I could have just left them. I thought this would be the case, but how the heck would I know that I could have just left them??? This wedding stuff is confusing to unwed, lil, ole me. 5. I am waiting and waiting to find out where my dress is. I finally get someone to help me (waited a good number of minutes) and she tells me to go find alterations and vaguely points me back to the corner of the store. I go looking, but there is no sign that indicates alterations. I go back and ask again. The least these people could have done was brought me back there. Two seconds. But anyway, I went back there. I told them my name, bride's name and that I was there to pick up my bridesmaid dress. The women behind the desk helps me for a few minutes and tells me that I am on a list of appointments to pick up my dress and goes to find it. I explain to her that I did not make an appointment, that I am simply picking up my dress. This woman gets a phone call suddenly and tells me to hold on a moment. Then another woman comes back and the woman on the phone points to the list where a person has a similar name to me and goes to get the dress. I explain to her that it was not my name and that my dress is not a bride dress. She ignores me. After about 15 minutes they finally find my dress! It then takes forever for me to try it on and make sure it fit. I finally get out! They take the dress and tell me they will bring it up front for me. 6. I go up front and wait for a good 20 minutes for someone to help me. There were tons of people waiting to get help including this one woman who was waiting already for half hour and her dress was already waiting. She just fell through the cracks and could not get anyone to help her. 7. Finally, while I am still waiting for my dress to be brought up front (I had already paid when I ordered it), I finally get someone to ask about dyeing my shoes. I nicely explain that I am really aggravated because now I have to come back AGAIN to pick up my dyed shoes when I could have had them ready with my dress but was told to bring my shoes back to get dyed another time. Confusing I know! The woman was nice and told me that they would ship me the shoes after they were dyed directly to my home free of charge. I thought, "Wow, maybe they are redeeming themselves." I will get to that in a sec. FINALLY they brought my dress up and I left with the feeling that something was going to go wrong with these shoes. 8. A month goes by and I still have not received my shoes. I reluctantly call, as I cannot even imagine how difficult it was going to be for me to get through to someone who could actually help me. Turns out that they were at the store and had never been shipped. Obviously. Anyway, supposedly they are shipping them to me. This entire experience stressed out my poor sis who is trying to pull this wedding together with little experience. Oh and I also wanted to note that my sister's friend who is in the wedding as well lives in RI. So she asked if they could ship her dress to the David's Bridal in Providence. They say no! So she has to deal with coming all the way back up to get it, which she does, only to realize her dress has a stain on it! She, I believe, is still waiting. Absolutely ridiculous! So essentially, don't go here unless you have some Xanax, an endless amount of patience, and all the damn time in the world! read more

I had an awful experience at David's Bridal in Danvers and will not be going back and also will not being purchasing my dress there. First, the customer service lady spent 5 minutes making fun of my fiance's last name, saying (and I quote) "Wow, that sucks. Don't take his name." I was then handed off to Alla - a Russian lady who I could barely understand. I couldn't find her for half of my appointment and had to enlist the help of my friends to help me get into 2 of the dresses I was trying on. Not only that, every time I asked to see a different dress, she seemed annoyed and just kept pushing their "zero percent financing for 6 months." Then, one of the dresses that I tried on was a size too small and she wouldnt even go see if they had my size... and also wouldnt even help me zip the one I did have - again, my friends had to do it. Awful experience compared to some of the privately owned shops I've been to. Good prices. Awful customer service. Thumbs down. read more

If I could, I would give David's Bridal of Danvers ZERO stars. I had an appointment today at 11:00 to get dresses for my two Maids of Honor. I am an older bride, 52 years old, and my maids are older as well. We knew EXACTLY what we were looking for. A long gown with sleeves and/or a short jacket. We checked in promptly at 11:00 and we were out the door at 11:08!!! In my life, I have never received such awful service!! The consultant, Roberta, was abrasive, rude and beyond unprofessional. My Maids and I were in shock!!!! She showed us three dresses and then left to "answer a page from up front." When she returned she told me if I needed help she would be up front, "helping a bride." Wait. I thought I was a bride who had an appointment with you????? LADIES PLEASE, SAVE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY AND DONT GO TO THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS!! Poor customer service in-store and on-line. So bummed out about my experience with David's Bridal. I'm pretty quiet and easy going, was in the store to try on bridesmaids dresses. I was alone. I had an appointment. My salesperson pretty much ignored me because she was also helping bridezilla. She offered me customer service to order online but then disappeared. So I went home. I ordered the dress online because the store didn't have my size. This is when I really got screwed over. Accidentally had the wrong default shipping address in my PayPal accnt. I emailed customer service within minutes of placing my order, told it would take 48hrs to respond. Nothing. Emailed customer service again 2 days later. Nothing. Received shipping notification. Called customer service and left message. Nothing. Dress shipped via UPS to a doorstep in the wrong city. I guess it's still sitting there, or else someone else is wearing my navy blue size zero! I've never had issues ordering online with other companies. David's Bridal actually has NO customer service. I really feel kind of angry that I received no support or help. Shitty corporate big box store. So disappointed. read more

It is going to be a busy summer... I have at least one wedding each month, and I am in several of them! Eek! What's a girl to do?? Actually, this weekend was the first time this girl ventured into a David's Bridal. I had heard many things about it before, but still really didn't know what to expect. I walked in and there was a guy there to greet me. I told him, "Oh, I'm not getting married. I'm here to meet someone." He said, "Yeah, I figured" (okay, I get enough "why aren't you married yet?" speeches from my mother. But, apparently, my "unmarriable-ness" is starting to get picked up by strangers too. Anyway, when I first walked in, all I noticed was MIRRORS! Snow White's stepmother would have a ball at this place -- mirrors, mirrors, EVERYWHERE! The right side of the store was all wedding dresses. The left side was all bridesmaid dresses. I headed toward the wedding dresses to find my friend. Anyway, I found my future cousin-in-law already trying on dresses. She was wearing this glitter/fluffy mesh creation that just screamed "NO NO NO." I made her take it off at once and demanded to see what else she was going to try on. The other options were actually quite nice, so I helped her pick out a few more to try on. By Dress #3, we had found THE ONE. It was absolutely gorgeous and my friend looked breathtaking. As soon as she walked out of the dressing room, we both knew that this gown was it. Unfortunately, due to their somewhat limited selection of bridal gowns to begin with, I saw two other potential brides try on the exact same dress (though my friend looked the best IMHO). After trying on the dress with all the assorted accessories our salesperson (a sweet woman named Jorgija) had fetched for us, we settled on the dress. The saleswoman was really pushing for us to buy the whole ensemble -- dress, petticoat, undergarment, veil, tiara, necklace, earrings, shoes, and gloves. She offered a 10% discount on everything we bought, in addition to a $200 discount on the dress (which, incidentally enough, was the most expensive dress out of everything she tried on). Most of their prices for accessories were grossly overpriced. Over $100 for a necklace and earrings that an elementary schooler could have put together in arts & crafts class? No thanks. In the end, I talked my friend into getting only what I felt like were "essentials" that would be difficult to shop around at other places for: dress, petticoat, and veil. The three items, after discounts, came to $1200. Not bad, if you ask me (let me stress again -- the dress was GORGEOUS, which I totally didn't expect). I had a few minutes to peruse the bridesmaid dresses (which I have the pleasure/pain of going back to try on next weekend). In every wedding I've ever been in, I've never paid less than $200 for a dress. At this place, I couldn't even FIND a dress that cost over $200. All the dresses, even the nicer ones, were under $150. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. Good to know that I won't be breaking the bank to be in this wedding. Hopefully my experience next weekend will go as smoothly as this past weekend was. read more

The only thing worse than this place is the gross bathroom!!! Staff can't handle the rush of people. How come if I order a dress online it takes a week but it takes 12 if I order it in store? Sales people don't have any answers. Buying a wedding dress should be more intimate and not rushed. read more

I wanted to buy a specific bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal. I called the Danvers location to inquire whether they have that dress in my size. I asked them whether I need an appointment, to which they said that I could just come in any time. There I am, on a Saturday afternoon, when the somewhat rude lady at the welcome desk gives me a weird look, since I don't have an appointment. Seriously? I had to explain them that I specifically asked for an appointment in the phone. After resolving this issue, we got assigned a representative, who helps me find the dress. This was the okay side of the experience. Then we got to the interesting part: The Cashier. She asks me for the size and color of the dress, my name, phone number, and all kind of other information so they can send me some infos in the future (btw, these guys are serious spammers). Then I go ahead and pay. Then the cashier tells the surprises: 1) They don't have the right color/size combination in their store, 2) They will deliver the dress in about 3 MONTHS, and 3) they want to deliver it to the store (for an extra $15 they would ship it to my home)! WHAT? Are these guys serious? What if I need the dress next month? Why did she not tell me any of this BEFORE I paid? Btw, if you order the dress online, they will deliver the dress to your house for FREE! After explaining this to her, she makes a "huge" favor, and promises to deliver the dress to my house -- in about 3 months. So here is my piece of advice: Avoid this place. If you must go to David's Bridal, try to find another store. This place is a zoo, especially during the weekends. Employees think that they are professional, but they are rude and not honest. read more

I have 9... yes 9, bridesmaids. I've had to come in 3 times now and we are planning future trips. The first time in we were greeted right away! Cindy W helped me with 5 of my bridesmaids, all wanting different styles and not knowing their sizes. Cindy was amazing, just absolutely wonderful. Cindy was patient, prompt, and all her suggestions were perfect. The second time, sadly Cindy wasn't working. The woman who helped us was good but the feeling was different. Today, I had two more bridesmaids look for dresses and I needed a reception dress. Luckily, Cindy was there!! Again she was top notch! All Cindy needs to hear is a few descriptive words and comes back with exactly what we had in mind! I can't believe she even knows the dresses numbers! Cindy is personable, knowledgeable, funny and professional. I highly suggest a raise or promotion! read more

I don't often write reviews but I wanted to say what a great experience my bridal party had here. I came in with my bridesmaids and my mom and fiancée's mom and Roberta was our consultant. She is truly amazing at what she does, she listened to all of our questions and concerns and gave honest advice and recommendations that really helped us all find what we needed. My group tried on a lot of dresses and it took some time for everyone to make their dress choices but all the while Roberta was very patient and always offering assistance. My mom found a great dress as well and although I already have mine, I found a fabulous pair of shoes for the big day and got some great advice on the shoe choices. The prices and selection is great and the store is clean and organized. I highly recommenced this David's Bridal. read more

With a short engagement and a tight budget, I was looking for a place that would work with me to make sure I could get the type of dress I wanted in the short time frame I had available. I was not expecting any miracles from David's but as it turns out, they were able to get me the dress I found online and really liked in the color I wanted (bright white- not available in stores) in a VERY reasonable time frame. The staff were all very accommodating. My only complaint with the sales staff is that they are entirely too pushy with items that I made it clear I DID NOT need- but this is to be expected from folks working on commission. For alterations, I was INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with Rita. She is an absolute love, very professional, and clearly a very skilled seamstress. My dress is slim fitting with multiple layers (beaded lace on satin with a lining) and she did an immaculate job altering it to an exact fit. When picking up the dress, it was even a bit snug in one place and she quickly swooped in, put my mind at ease and made an adjustment right on the spot in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES! I would highly recommend Rita as a highly skilled and very personable seamstress. read more

I had an awful experience at David's bridal as a bridesmaid. We were assigned a clerk to help us with our search but she was a half hour late and as soon as we began trying dresses on we were swarmed by 2-3 other workers who gave their unsolicited opinion every chance they got. I am the only plus size shopper in our group and they made sure I knew it, telling me I was harder to shop for than the other girls and that the other girls would look good in anything so they had to find something that was good for me and then of course it would look good on the others. Not only this but the person helping us (Michelle maybe?) kept taking away dresses that were still being considered and asked me to move dressing rooms more than once even though someone else would come and tell me not to move minutes later. This trip was unsettling and a disaster. If it weren't for Jacqueline I would have lost it. But wait there's more, several times our helper told us to STOP trying on dresses because we were "confusing" ourselves. This store needs to have a stern talking to with their rude and unprofessional staff. read more

This review reflects my experience in May 2005: I should state from the outset that I wasn't keen on getting a "real bridal gown" but my mother seemed eager to go looking for dresses and I didn't want to let her down. I had two days to find a dress so we went to David's Bridal because they have a large selection. When we arrived, I was assigned a "consultant" and unfortunately, she and I had very different tastes. I wanted something simple, possibly simple and elegant; she loved lace, the more lace the better. I did find a dress but ended up spending far more than I had planned or wanted to. After the purchase, I received MANY e-mails from David's Bridal. One of these e-mails was a follow-up survey and here's what I wrote (I never received a response): DAVID'S BRIDAL in DANVERS, MA: While I appreciate the selection in gowns David's Bridal provides, I felt the consultants were quite pushy about having me buy extras & altering additional portions of the dress to increase the sale price. I was never shown any dresses below $299 despite my request and the TV ads stating there was an ongoing $99 dress sale. Additionally, the whole process dragged on for 3 hours even though I had selected my dress within the first 45 minutes. It was a Wednesday afternoon and there was only one other bride-to-be in the store, so the slow pace wasn't due to high traffic. While I found & bought a dress I liked, I left feeling that I had been taken advantage of -- I certainly paid far more than I had planned. The day after I bought the dress, I received a call from the After Hours representative offering me a "deal" on tuxes with them because I had bought a dress from David's Bridal. When I returned home to Chicago, I found a message on my machine that I had won $100 in free flowers through a sweepstakes I'd entered online when visiting David's Bridal's webpage. I called to get the details, only to learn that I had to buy a "wedding package" in order to receive $100 off the total. The whole affair concerning David's Bridal struck me more as a grand business operation than a personalized service. read more
