I can't say enough great things about this store. Other reviews mention they don't care about plus size girls and that can't be further from the truth. I've been a size 12/14 my entire pageant career and I'm currently purchasing my 4th gown from them. Other stores never have the beautiful gowns I see in photos, but Glitterati does. They don't cheat bigger girls out of gorgeous dresses that blow you away. They were extremely attentive and helpful and made sure I had a gown with the WOW factor. They found a lovely dress AND they brought a seamstress up to put alterations on it and add a skirt to make it really standout on stage. No one else will have this custom Sherri Hill gown and Glitterati made it happen. All of the staff have been extremely kind and they put me in gowns that make my jaw drop. It's been a few months and I never heard back from the store about my experience, so let me say this: If you're considering buying a dress from Glitterati, DON'T. And don't even think about having alterations done here unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a shoddy job that doesn't get finished on time, or if you want to get verbally berated by the seamstress when you try to point out the issues to her. Heed the warnings of the 1-star reviews. I wish I had. I would have saved lots of money (and a few tears after getting yelled at in the store). My ordeal started when I bought a mermaid-style dress back in September. It was missing some sequins (they still charged me full price), and it needed alterations since it was a size too big and the beading needed to be replaced. I paid for rush alterations since my event was happening soon. In my fitting, the seamstress pinned all the places the dress needed to be taken in: straps, zipper, back seam below the zipper, pinned both layers of hems to cover my heels (which I wore to the fitting), and marked all the places there was beadwork missing. But despite paying a lot of extra money for rush alterations, I wasn't told I could pick up the dress until a day after the date they originally stated. I live out of the state, which I'd told them, so I'd already planned my travel around the deadline they set. The seamstress wasn't there when I picked it up, and they handed me the dress as though I were expected to just take it without even trying it on. But I tried on the dress before I left, and it was a good thing I did: none of the missing beadwork had been replaced. There were still loose threads and sequins hanging limply off this very expensive dress. Many of the alterations the seamstress had pinned in the fitting weren't done, including taking in the lower seam to fit the mermaid dress closer to my body. And despite pinning the hem so it would cover my shoes, the inner hem was a full 4" too short. You can't add fabric, obviously, so the hem was ruined. I told the cashier all the problems, so she took careful notes and said she'd take the dress back to the seamstress to fix and would let me know when I could pick it up. I also requested the seamstress be there when I pick up the dress again. By the time the dress was ready a second time, it was already several days after the original deadline, so this could no longer be considered a rush job (but they were still happy to take my money for it). I put on the dress and the seamstress pointed out all the places she'd fixed the beading, bragging how she'd spent several hours fixing it the day before. I reminded her that I had paid for this to be fixed by the original deadline, but she hadn't done it as she'd promised. I also pointed out the hem that was too short, and that there were a couple places she'd pinned in the fitting and they hadn't been taken in. Parts of the dress were still hanging off my body. She proceeded to shout at me, yelling how she'd spent hours fixing the beading (again, a job I'd already paid her to do the first time that hadn't gotten done), yet refusing to address the ruined hem or the other issues with the fit. Finally, she got her assistant to quickly take in the back seam (it was slapdash and done in a few minutes). She never apologized for the lateness of the dress, never acknowledged the alterations she had promised but didn't deliver, and shouted at me during the entire appointment while I quietly asked for the fixes I'd paid for. Eventually, I asked if I could just get my money back. Not only was this no longer a rush job since I didn't get the dress by the deadline I requested, but the hem was ruined by being cut several inches too short, the alterations had not been done properly, and I had been verbally berated for asking that the repairs be done and the alterations be fixed. The kind person at the counter said she would ask her manager, took my phone number and everything. I never heard back. I tried calling, but no one picked up. I finally left a voicemail with my phone number and recounted the whole experience, but never heard back. Since I live out of state and travel a lot for work, I can't just go into the store to resolve this on the off chance a manager will be there (there wasn't a manager there any time I went in during this ordeal). I wore the dress to my event, and none of the beading fixes held. The same strands are hanging off the dress again, and the sequins and beading look patchy. Since the alterations weren't done right, the skirt was constantly bunching around my hips and making the hem ride up even shorter. After everything had been done so poorly (if at all), I was actually embarrassed to be seen in the dress. And still no word about getting any of my money back. Not even an apology. So do yourself a favor: go to Macy's. Shop on Amazon. Go to literally any dress shop and seamstress except this one. Save yourself the money and headache. read more

I never got the dress I ordered from Glitterati!! My daughter went Shopping at the Burlington Glitterati store and decided to buy the dress she liked from the Glitterati website. The dress was listed as in stock and ship in 2-3 days. I recieved a purchase/confirmationt by email. After 2.5 weeks the dress was not delivered and no email updates, so I tried to call (lefft messages) and emailed customer support without response. I stopped in at a local Glitterati and the "system was down" so they could not check inventory of the 4 local Glitterati shops. The woman was nice enough to search her store inventory without luck. After a few more calls and left messages I finally got someone on the phone from another store location. Initially she said it can take longer for delivery but I persisted I wanted to speak to a manager and confirm her dress was available to ship - my order receipt said in stock. It was then explained to me the dress always says in stock online however there is no warehouse they just use stock from their local stores and the computer is not always up to date. It took several more days for an employee to search inventory at all the local stores. To inccrease the chances of finding a dress my daughter liked, I suggested they pull all dresses of that syle number regauardless of color in size 00 and 0 and we would consider picking from what dresses were available. Unfortunately they were unalbe to find any dress in that style number in the size range I requested. Thats six colors and two size options and they found NOTHING!! Hard to believe. Luckily I was able to order the same dress online and that store was excellent. The store Dress Me Up of NewYork had the dress color and size my daughter wanted. I paid a little extra for quicker shipping because of the wasted time by Glitterati. Dress Me Up emailed me receipts and tracking numbers and kept me informed. I was able to speak to them on the phone when I called, great customer service. I really wanted to shop local but Glitterati was unable to deliver the dress that they said was in stock, and no one seemed to know it was not available and I probably would have never been notified in a timely manner. Its appauling that in order to buy the dress online you have to check a box that confirms dress is Non refundable, non exchangable and all sales final but yet they cant follow through on a dress listed as in stock. Shame on them for not being more organized about their inventory and shame on them for not notifing me or rectifieng the situation within a day or two. It took at lest a week. They know dress shopping and finding the perfect dress is a big deal for these kids going to prom. read more

Buyer beware! My daughter and I went to the Northshore Mall store to find her prom dress. She found one she loved and we bought it. The store charged us about $450.00. A couple of days later I find the same exact dress, same item number, on their website for $298.00. All sales are final. They do not provide an itemized receipt and take the price tag off the dress when you purchase it in the store. When I spoke with the manager, she refused to refund me the difference. We shopped at the Pheasant Lane store and found the perfect dress in my daughter's size. We then noticed there was quite a bit of chocolate on the skirt of the dress. The sales girl told me there's no way for them to order it, and there's no web site so I could order the dress. They said they would check with other stores, but they never got back to us. I called and went back to the store, but they kept blowing us off. I finally found their glitteratistyle.com web site and ordered my daughter's prom dress on March 2, 2025, and it was significantly less expensive than purchasing the same exact thing in the store. It's April 18, 2025. It never arrived. We have tried calling and emailing multiple times. Messages to unanswered. Emails get no response. It was supposed to ship in 5-7 days. Our receipt says the dress was ordered from the Danvers store. The web site says the Danvers store is temporarily closed. We now have to go to one of the other stores and try to get some assistance, but I'm not optimistic because those girls don't seem to know what they are doing. my review continously keesps being taken down....DO NOT go to the Maple Street Danvers, MA Glitterati. First, we went in store, we picked put dresses within our price range and tried some on, then they assign you someone to help, she never asked our budget and kept bringing dresses that were way more expensive. The look of the shop embarrassing. racks are packed and you can barely look through. Then to try on dress we were taken through to the back; there's holes in the walls, nowhere to sit, etc. You would think with the amount of money these dresses are, the experience would be better. The employees working look extremely frumpy, not dressed professionally, embarrassing. We didnt purchase in store because we wanted to shop around. Ended up ordering a dress my daughter originally tried on in their store; we ordered online through their store. Dress was shown as in stock and would ship within 2-3 days and take 7-10 business days to arrive. Well 2 weeks go by and we still hadn't gotten an email saying it shipped. I called their store countless times. Same story, the girl answering can't get into their system to check, she took my info and said someone would call me back. No one would call so I had to try again. I also texted the number they list on their website for days. No one replied until I essentially had to stalk and threaten them if someone was going to answer back. I also emailed the email listed on their website, NEVER got a response. So, unless you want to harass them just to get a simple response dont bother. I finally got a response through text and the woman says I will personally ship your item, never gave me any reason why it hadn't already and didnt offer any kind of compensation. The dress comes the next day SHOVED in a small shipping box. Mind you this was $600+ dress that was carelessly shipped to us, no garment bag, no special box so it didnt get ruined. I reached out again stating how it arrived, NEVER heard back. This place is a joke. I literally am begging anyone do not give them your business. WORST PLACE EVER!! If I could give this place zero stars I would. They not only horrifically messed up my dress but they also were super rude to me during the process. In May I booked an appointment with the Danvers location to have a fitting to get my dress adjusted. I arrived on time to my appointment and had to wait over 2 hours to be seen. It took me and another customer harassing them for hours to finally get the service we had booked. When I finally got service I realized only 2 employees in the entire store spoke English. The rest couldn't even say a single word. However, I still was patient and knew some Spanish as I took 3 years of it. The head seamstress was the one who fitted me and she was super unprofessional. There were sewing needles COVERED all over the ground and she couldn't speak English. However she insulted me in spanish numerous times. She called me an elephante which is elephant in Spanish and laughed and said other degrading comments on my size. Which is hypocritical considering she had to be at least 300 pounds when I'm not even 250. She was making these comments to another employee who had to translate what she said to me when I asked but I already had an idea of what she was saying. I then tried to go over what I wanted done and with a hem, strap adjustment, and corset adjustment it would've been 400 dollars. So I said to just do the corset. I had to find the translator to tell the seamstress this and they both said that it was all set. Even when I cashed out I made sure the 90 dollars was just for the corset and the lady reassured me it was. Then in June I went to pick it up a week before prom and realize the straps were added and were totally off. One strap was perfect but the right one was sewn on so incorrectly it went straight into my armpit. Then the lace wasn't long enough for the corset. So I waited 2 hours for this lady to add lace to it. I was fuming because I didn't want the straps and they did it anyways and messed it up. Then messed up adjusting the laces to the new corset width. So then I had to go back and rip out the strap and sew it back in myself. Not to mention when I went to pick it up they also lost my dress bag that I had payed for and claimed I never brought one in when I most certainly did. Bottom line DO NOT GO HERE! read more

At the Burlington Mall location I found Kiki to be extremely helpful and supportive in finding a fantastic MOB dress. I am a size 16 and found nothing elsewhere. There was no wait time for the dressing room. I do find their no refund/no return/no exchange policy to be a bit extreme, but I can understand that they likely have been burned so many times by dresses being returned worn or damaged, that is likely the basis for it. I did not feel I was pressured into buying anything. I have read the reviews below and will make sure I do not go to their recommended tailor for alterations however!! read more

STAY AWAY! I brought my daughter here to look for a prom dress despite her telling me it is the most expensive prom store around. I should have listened. The whole experience was horrible. When you walk in you give them your name and they hand you a slip of paper and say you can try on 3 dresses at a time. The main floor dresses only go up to size 4. If you want size 6 or above you have to wait for a salesperson (in our case, apathetic teen) to bring you up a rickety elevator to the 3rd floor like you're some second class citizen or something if you're not a size 0 to 4. My daughter found 1 dress to try on, the zero personality teen kept trying to get her to pick out more styles. Kind of hard when they are all in plastic and crammed into the rack (and frankly, mostly ugly). We go back down to the first floor, wait a couple minutes for a dressing room and my daughter goes in while I stand around the dressing room where multiple other girls are also trying on dresses. One maskless girl decided to hog the 3 way mirror while taking selfies and calling people on her phone the whole time. The dress my daughter tried on was ok, but not worth the $350 price tag before alterations. The pushy salesperson tried to get me to put a deposit on it and when I said no thank you several times she finally left us alone. There was only one nice salesperson in the store, I wish I remembered her name. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. We wound up going to a small formal gown store in Andover afterwards and found a perfect and absolutely gorgeous dress for less money and a much more friendly experience. read more

I went to the Danvers location today and my daughter was unsure if she wanted the dress she picked out for the prom. I asked about layaway and was told that I could do layaway just in case she changes her mind. I went to the cashier and asked twice if I would recieve a refund if she changed her mind. she nodded. I checked out and an hour later I called because my daughter indeed changed her mind. I asked them to void the transaction. after being transferred and on hold for 10 minutes I was told I could have a merchandise credit. I said no please void the sale. There system SUCKS!! When you walk in the door they give you a slip with the time you got in. You then go and find dresses to try on. Sounds good, right? But, no! The problem comes when you get in line to try dresses on. You keep getting pushed back in the dressing room queue when ever someone who arrived at the store before you get in line. So, if you're someone who has one dress to try on or if you found your 3 dresses quickly you still get pushed down the queue. I was next in line 4 times only to have someone cut in front of me who may have been in the store longer, but just entered the dressing room line. It was maddening. Also, the manager is on some kind of power trip. God forbid you ask her why you keep getting pushed back in the line. She turns into a psycho!! We will not be returning! No dress is worth that. My advice is to write down the time on the slip when you enter the dressing room line. People wouldn't get so upset watching people walk up and jump to the front of the line. I went to Glitterati at the North shore mall to get my prom dress and the service was amazing. They suggested getting my dress hemmed at their other location in Danvers so I took their word for it rather than bringing my dress to my regular tailor. Big mistake. The woman who manages this place is like Abby Lee Miller on steroids. She's a raging c u n t with the worst attitude imaginable and made the experience miserable. The people who worked with me to do my alterations were so kind and generous, I feel so bad they have to work for the wicked witch of the west. I would rate 0 stars if I could. We immediately got upsold on dresses that cost many THOUSANDS of dollars. When we explained that was out of our budget, they questioned our commitment to the event that the dress was on. It was clear that this is the way that the employees are trained because we had the same experience with Wilma. She seemed to be a veteran in the upsell and beatdown process. I am not shy about my displeasure with Glitterati. I tell everyone to avoid this place as much as possible. Let me start by saying that we went there twice last year, bought two dresses, and had great service both times. That's why we were so terribly disappointed by our latest visit. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Wednesday. There were a handful of other customers in the store, and at least 6-8 employees. We were escorted upstairs, where sizes 6 and up are kept. Things started out OK, but the three employees upstairs spent most of their time chatting about their dinner order - who was getting what, where they were going, who was going to pick it up - and only intermittently paid any attention to us. The one girl was pretty good, but at some point she was apparently nominated to go pick up food, and she disappeared, leaving us with the other duds. At one point, my daughter tried on a dress that she liked, but it was too big. One of the girls was supposed to go bring it back in a smaller size, but came back and said 'it's discontinued, there aren't more.' We asked if there was anything similar, and she just said 'no'. When we got home, we looked up the style number *ON GLITTERATI'S WEBSITE* and not only is it not discontinued, but they claim to have it in store in every size, in multiple colors. The selection upstairs is dismal - less than half as many dresses per size as downstairs, many of them just really hideous (and many that are damaged). Unlike our other visits, the employees were not really any help in finding dresses to try on. We won't be back. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I had a great experience buying a $340 dress 5 days ago for a wedding. Unfortunately on July 2nd the wedding was called off and I wanted to see if I could return the dress because I have no place to wear it. Since it was 3rd & 4th of July holiday I decided to call today on the 5th to see if this extenuating circumstance would provide me to be able to return it. I talked with someone who said they would call me back because they had to check at 1pm. I did not hear back so I brought the dress in at 4:30 and was told to wait while they called someone. When the girl came back she said because it's almost a week there is nothing they could do. When I mentioned it being the 4th she said still no. I even went to saying that they could keep the dress and refund me just $300- so they would get the untouched dress still in the protector, never been worn and they could keep the $40. I tried to be reasonable because this store is one of my favorites and I always recommend people to come because of the variety and quality. Now I will never buy anything here again. I wanted to speak to a manager since not only was I not told about the return policy but the fact is that the wedding was called off and because of a holiday they wouldn't issue a refund. I hope people see this and because I am a blogger I will not recommend anyone to shop here based off of this second interaction. What fun we had today! Went looking for a Sherri Hill Pageant dress. After a terrible experience at Bella Sera, we stumbled upon Glitterati. We found everyone to be so outgoing and gracious. The young lady who checked us is walked daughter around the store and helped her pick out some dresses. Unbeknownst to me, they had the one dress that I thought might be perfect for her. It was the first dress she put on and everyone knew that that was her dress! The owner stopped by and sponsored her too!! Yes, the store is a little small, but they had a ton of dresses, many under $200. I also appreciated thd fact that they were all in plastic bags... they were all like new and clean! Given Zero communication we reached out 4.20.20 requesting the order be canceled ... at which point we were reminded of their "no cancellation" policy and told the dress had not yet shipped. With the event date pending 5.8.20 we reached out again 4.28 requesting cancellation noting that the dress could not possibly arrive on time for the event. If you are put with Welma, be prepared for the most aggressive sales person and ask if you can be with someone else. I came here with my friend to try on dresses, and planned to come back the next day with my mom to buy. I told her I wouldn't be buying today and she actually told me I should get my parents on the phone to pay for the dress right now, and kept pestering me about buying it today. Also, Welma barged in my dressing room TWICE when I wasn't fully dressed and there were a lot of people standing in the dressing room! My friend wasn't trying on dresses (just me) and Welma asked her why. My friend said "there's a dress at another store I'm going to buy". Welma asked my friend to show her pictures of the dress, and proceeded to tell her she shouldn't buy that and told her she would look horrible in the dress she likes from another store. I was surprised at how far Welma was willing to go to act so desperate for sales. I found her approach with my friend highly offensive and was upset with how she spoke to my friend. My daughter was very excited about shopping here for a prom dress. She insisted that a friend had found her dress here for about $120. Once you're signed in, they direct you to the area where the dresses are in your size and let you browse on your own. All the dresses are in plastic, which makes it difficult to evaluate them on the rack and makes it difficult to determine the price. We had trouble finding more than two under $200. Most were in the $275 to $375 range; shocking to me that they were so expensive. But there was also an area for the even more expensive lines - in the $500 to $700 range. "Prom" dresses these days are apparently heavily influenced by what the Kardashians are wearing... So many of these dresses were way too mature for a 16 or 17 year old; they were heavily blinged out with sequins, jewels, and glitter and had bare skin cutouts, plunging backs and necklines. Many were just really tacky and slutty looking. And crazy expensive! The fitting room area had only one large mirror for the girls to use, so it was crowded and difficult to evaluate fit. Three pairs of grimy stilletto heels were available for them to wear to estimate length with heels. The staff was very hard sell and, when we decided not to buy, our salesgirl turned around and walked away without a word. Rude. All in all, a poor experience. My son's girlfriend bought her prom dress a few years ago at a thrift store and she added some glittery trimmings to make a very pretty, one-of-a-kind dress for under $50. That may be the other extreme, but it is a good option for a creative person. I was more than happy to take my daughter shopping for a prom dress but next time we'll look for a store that offers better prices and a better range of options. Also, although no one mentioned it to us at the time of our visit, or while we were being harangued to purchase, dresses bought here are ALL FINAL SALE: "No refunds, exchanges or cancellations." If an item is ordered, the store "is not responsible for delays in shipping by the manufacturer." And alterations are NOT included. Buyer beware. read more

Self esteem killer for young girls !! I typically don't write reviews but I couldn't help myself on this one because it was so horrible. worst shopping experience I have ever had. Sales ppl looked exhausted and were extremely rude. Dresses were over priced and very difficult to browse on the packed racks. The styles were nothing special or unique. Anyone above size six had to shop and try on at the upstairs level . This was immediately confusing and felt like size shaming. When we were finally able to get some assistance, we were ONLY asked what high school my girls went to. Not what color or style or anything else about what we had in mind !! We then waited 45 min to get into a fitting room. As we were about to enter they pulled 3 of the six dresses away from us bc someone at my girls high school already had that dress!! Chaos! Beautiful dresses however the store is so chaotic, and overcrowded. Almost an hour wait to try on dresses. When we went back to pick up the dress it was a 45 minute wait for our appointment. One of the girls took the dress to steam it for us. After 1/2 hour we asked for the dress and was completely wrinkled still. Do not go on a weekend. read more

I was in the Nashua store with my daughter for a prom dress we had a great experience the young lady who helped us was Shannon G and the reason I say G is because there where too Shannons working that day and I want the right girl to get the credit she was wonderful gave my daughter all these suggestions and color my daughter went in there looking for a certain dress and Shannon helped her pick out the most beautiful and different dress. The reason why I will not refer this store is because upon leaving there was this mom and her daughter paying for her dress the daughter was a little on the heavier side and the mother was asking why she was being charged a extra 100 dollars and the reply was because the dress is a bigger size so basically they charged her an extra 100 dollars because her daughter was a little heavier i felt so bad for the girl she looked so embarrassed. the mom said the dress said one price and no where is it stated she had to pay 100 more. I had already paid for my daughter's dress because if I had not I would of walked out that store and never looked back. I am not sure how the situation ended because I had to get to work but she was told to call the Danvers store. . Later speaking too a couple of mothers at school I was told she was probably referred to katarina the store owner a few of these moms said they have spoken to this women about some issues and she was extremely rude and she is horrible to her employees I wish I had seen these moms before I would never have given her my business. Awesome! Sooo helpful and has plenty of amazing dresses for many sizes. The staff was so sweet and so helpful when i was looking for dresses. They pulled dresses that i wouldn't even think of looking at and helped me find my perfect prom dress! So clean too! I would go back any day! read more

Worst experience ever! Customer service could not be worse. Every time we went into this store we were there for hours! Lots of standing around waiting to be helped. even after we bought our dress, and went back to have it fitted, it took them 30 minutes to locate the dress. went back to pick up dress after it was altered, again after standing around forever, they bring the dress and my daughter can't even zip it up. They tried telling me it was perfect after two seamstresses had to pinch it together to zip. After I became upset, they brought us upstairs to the fourth floor which was FILTHY! disgusting, old, dirty carpet, black mold all over the walls, just gross! The "manager" finally after 45 minutes came to speak to us, no smile, no introduction and was overall just rude and inarticulate. I insisted on speaking g to someone above her to which she said there was nobody. I proceeded to take the dress that didn't fit downstairs, along with another dresss (same one that had not yet been altered) and she threatened to call the authorities!!! Only then was Introduced to another manager, named Josh.... Except there was a little boy running around calling him Uncle Christopher in one exchange and daddy in another??? You can't make this stuff up! There is more to the story but this is enough for now. In the end, after THREE nights there after work for multiple hours each time, the dress was fixed but overall this experience was awful!! Terrible customer service, dirty and totally shady operation!! FYI, if your curious.... Do a little digging into Christopher Wood, he is actually part owner according to his fb page, married to the 29 year old female owner Katerina and the little boy that is always running around the shop is his son. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ALTERATIONS!!! First prom dress fitting was done in April and was told the dress would be ready after May 26th. Daughter came to pick up the dress on May 28th and the store hadn't even started the alterations yet. Gave excuse that their sewing machine was broken, resulting in the work being delayed by a couple of days. This didn't make sense to me since they had over A MONTH to make the alterations. Upon realizing their mistake and seeing how upset I was, they started alterations that day and promised that it wouldn't be a "rush job" and that the seamstress was "amazing" and would do a good job. Received a phone call a few hours later that the alterations were done. When we came the next day to try to the dress on, we had much difficulty zipping the dress up because it had been taken in too much in the torso and hip, causing the dress to pucker at the waist. The solution to this problem was to take out the zipper and replace it with corset strings in the back instead. The hip area couldn't be fixed. We had to come back again the next day for another fitting. The corset strings looked good, but because the hip area was badly tailored, the dress still puckered slightly at the waist. Honestly, if prom hadn't been four days away and there was more time, I would have taken the dress elsewhere to get it fixed. Considering the expense of the alterations which cost more than the dress itself I expected a much higher quality job. read more
