The most rude staff I have ever met. I was a bridesmaid and the bride thought it would be fun for all the bridesmaids to try on bridesmaid dresses together. So, the bride made an appointment for us to go. The bride had already bought a wedding dress prior to the appointment. The appointment was only to choose bridesmaid dresses. When I was walking around holding several dresses I planned to try on, one of the staff members saw me and immediately ripped the dresses out of my hands. She said that I cannot try on dresses because brides tend to like all the attention on them during appointments. (Ironically, the bride is the least vain person I know and is definitely not one to seek attention!) I explained that she already had a wedding dress and we came here for bridesmaid dresses. Even after explaining, she did not believe me and put the dresses behind the counter and walked away. I eventually had to get the bride to come over (which pulled her away from looking at all her friends trying on dresses!) and explain the same thing to her. Then, the staff member finally believed my story but she did not apologize or give me back my dresses. I was forced to start all over on looking for dresses from the racks. It made me miss out on trying dresses with everyone else because I had to spend more time in the racks looking. By the time I found some more dresses, everyone else was pretty much already done trying dresses on. I will never shop at David's Bridal ever again. read more

I just had my appointment this morning 10/09/20. It started off really well. I was greeted when I first walked in, and they looked up my appointment with my profile. I believe there were some technical difficulties because they saw that my wedding was this month ? But in actuality when I had submitted my information I put down that my wedding is not until February 2022. So once I explain to them that it was probably an error I. The system and gave them the correct dates we were good to go. I told them I'm just looking to try on dresses, and trying to get an idea of what type of style of dress that I would like. The lady that was assisting me I showed her dresses that I had on my phone and she was able to find them with no problem. One particular dress was a Vera Wang dress! I tried on other dresses that I also picked out. The stylist was asking me how would you rate this dress as I was trying them on. I told her my ratings and I changed into another dress. So like I said the beginning was great, however when the two consultants were loving this Vera Wang dress and they were pushing me to buy it. I did let them know in the beginning that I was just looking for the type of style of dress. Not purchasing anything today. Obviously they were not listening to the me (the customer). So after I didn't jump on the fact of buying this dress they started to tend with another customer and that was it. No how are you doing in there? Would you like to try on any more dresses? Is there a certain style that you want to try on to see if you like? Nothing like that. They might as well have said OK see you later. Of course being the person that I am I said thank you and have a great day and left. Here's a thing if they would have kept assisting me like they were supposed to there was a very high chance that I would've possibly bought the dress and then I would've bought all of the bridesmaid dresses. But because of your customer service I left. Didn't even want to look at any bridesmaids dresses. So they need to do a better job with: 1. Assisting the customer from beginning to end. 2. Listen to the customer 3. Never assume the customer will not give you business 4. Build a repor with the customer, so the customer would come back to that particular store. I don't recommend this location to my friends or my colleagues or anyone for that matter. read more

I am super disappointed with David's Bridal quality. I have purchased three dresses here in the last two years for various weddings and have worn two of them this month. The first dress I wore two weeks ago. Had tried it on and had it hemmed, less than ten minutes of having it on the top button fell off and I had to be sewn into the dress. The second dress had a sticky zipper that I was able to get on for my fitting but would not zip up hours before the ceremony. After multiple people tried, using pliers and everything I had to walk down the aisle with my brand new dress held together by safety pins (see below). The zipper on this dress was faulty as it fit fine and there was nothing caught in the zipper. Multiple people said so. This David's Bridal shares a good sized parking lot with a number of neighboring businesses in the Danvers Crossing Shopping Center. My friend had made a Saturday afternoon appointment so she could show the me the dress that she had her eye on. We were a bit late, but since a bride before us had run late herself, we ended up being just in time! The associate assisting us was a bit confused, so my friend had to remind her where the dress had been stashed. She then directed us to check in while she went and got the dress. The dressing room was surprisingly empty and not the most comfortable spot to wait while my friend got gussied up for me. I wasn't crazy about the dress since it seemed to make her look short and waist-less. Fortunately, she realized the dress looked better in photos than in person, and felt that the lace flowers on the bodice were rather large and cheap looking, so I didn't feel like I was bursting her bubble. read more

As a bridesmaid who has previously bought dresses in David's Bridal this visit to this Danver David's Bridal was a horrifying experience for the all the bridesmaids and the bride to be. Not only were the staff unprofessional but our stylist Erika was extremely rude, fat shaming (bride over heard staff commenting on everyone's weight) and rushing our appointment because she had another appointment that she needed to attend to. All the bridesmaids left the appointment extremely disappointed and without buying a dress because this staff was highly unprofessional. Left a review before and it disappeared... I will never step foot in a David's again. Our bridal consultant was Meredith B. She seemed sweet at first and had me look through the gowns while my wedding party got settled. When I walked over to the dressing room, my mom and sisters were sitting on the floor...I learned after the appointment this was thanks to Meredith! My mother asked if there were chairs and she said "we are too busy..." there was no where to sit besides the floor and she wouldn't get chairs. THEN my mother asked where to hang her coat. Meredith shrugged and pointed to the floor. My mother kept her mouth shut because she didn't want to ruin my appointment, but if I knew I would have walked out right then and there. Meredith wouldn't leave me alone to discuss the gowns w/ my party. Made uncomfortable comments about my body. Told my mother that if a bride likes a dress and she doesn't as the saleslady she will talk her out of it. None of us said anything because we were in complete shock, but I really regret not just storming out. Felt literally bullied into buying a dress. Cancelled the order the night of. The dress was beautiful but I did not want to remember this experience every time time I looked at it. Do not be fooled by all these good reviews. The second you are done trying on dresses, they shove a bar code into your face to scan and leave a review. It is incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. My bridal consultant stood right next to me the entire time...making it incredibly awkward to write anything negative. I did find a dress, but my experience wasn't great! My consultant seemed mad both times I went in and she just brought me the dress and even my family noticed that she seemed annoyed. My dress was $540 and I like it not love it i only bought it because I felt bad that I had brought my family in, and felt pressured on making a decision after only trying in 4 dresses. I wonder if I had someone else helping me, maybe i would have found a better dress. But it's too late now... I get married May of next year, but I get my dress Aug 2019... i was going to give them a two star because i love my dress but two stars say "meh ive experienced better" well this is my one and only wedding and their the only experience i have to go on. So they get one star as they should for recommending dress alterations 3 weeks before wedding, they had to reschedual our appointment so i was given another date that was shakey on my end as the day was jam packed 3 weeks before the wedding as you could imagine. So unwelcoming, rude, just awful! I was going for a fitting for my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding and after the experience I had here tonight, I would never, ever come here or allow anyone I know to come here for wedding/bridesmaid dresses. I made an appointment for a fitting. David's Bridal should have already had the info on file, as the rest of the bridal party went down in New York to pick out the dress a couple months ago. I came in for my appointment and no one seemed to be around to greet customers. After standing there awkwardly for a bit, a super rude woman walked up to me, acting as if she was bothered by my mere presence. I let her know I had an appointment for a fitting for a bridesmaid dress. She huffed and puffed asking if I knew which dress I was looking for (again, they should have asked for my brother's fiance's info and looked it up themselves). I pulled it up and she huffed and puffed some more and told me to wait while she checked to see if (I forget her name) was there to help me. Again, keep in mind that I had an appointment. (side note: appointments don't mean anything here so don't bother). She came back and brought me over to a rack, where she had the dress in only four sizes, all in random colors. I let her know I wanted to try the 2 and the 6, at which point she just stared at me for a second. Maybe I'm just sensitive, but to me it felt that she was almost rolling her eyes at asking for a size 2, as if she didn't think it would fit me (I was in a baggy sweater so maybe she thought I couldn't fit in a 2). Again, it's possible this wasn't what was going on but after my experience here, I wouldn't put it past her/David's Bridal. When she didn't say anything, I repeated, "The 6," so she grabbed it, walked me to a fitting room, and left. I somehow got the zipper up on my own (she was nowhere to be found to help) and of course the dress was too big... hence why I asked for the smaller size as well. I carried the dress back to the rack and got the smaller size, along with a totally different dress in a size 4 to try on as well, hoping it might fit similarly to the one I had to buy. I walked them both back to the fitting room and tried them on. Luckily, the 2 fit me, so I brought both dresses back to the rack on my own, passing the vile woman from earlier who was now behind the counter BSing with her coworkers. I left and ordered the dress online, as there was no possible way I was going to give my money to that store. I was actually annoyed that I had to give my money to David's Bridal at all, but I had no choice. Also, this was at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. They don't close until 9 and there was barely anyone in the store, so while none of this would ever be acceptable in my opinion, they can't blame it on the fact that they were busy and/or closing. I have had two terrible experiences here. First experience was trying on dresses. I was offered little to NO support. It was as if I was bothering the woman helping me. She did not help me change into my gowns, she was not behind me picking them out she didn't EVEN bother checking on me. I WALKED AROUND WITH THESE DRESSES IN MY HANDS. The place was dead, so her being busy with other clients is not an excuse. I had to go to the front desk, not once, not twice, but three times for them to call her from the back. I even took a dress off a mannequin myself. She did not offer me information about buying from them, if they financed, layaway, rented, credit cards NADA! But on a positive note I found the dress I wanted. Fast forward to yesterday, I walk in and ask to try on the dress I previously picked out because I was ready to buy it. They looked at me and flat out said "not going to happen today" because it was busy and there wasn't time for me to try on ONE dress in the 8 hours they had left of business. Keep in mind, last visit I helped myself, so I had no problem doing so yesterday. I could practically see the dress from the front door, I knew where to find it. We asked multiple times if I could just go in the back, or in the special occasion dressing rooms, but no one budged or offered any advice besides telling me I can put money down on it today, but I can't try it on. NOT HAPPENING. You would think a big name like David's bridal would make accommodations for a sale, but apparently not. I took my party down the road to Bella Sera and bought a beautiful gown there. The staff here are incredible. I've been to several David's Bridal locations, both in MA and in CA and OR. I had the unfortunate circumstance of my bridesmaid dress no longer fitting, which I realized just 10 days before the wedding. I called ahead to inquire if they had the dress in stock, hoping to try on a few sizes, return the one I had, and rush order a new one online. When I arrived, they were waiting for me and had dresses ready for me to try on right away. Once we settled on the right size, they got to work with the exchange. A return would not be allowed, so an exchange would be necessary and the store would have to order the dress to be shipped there, rather than directly to me. The arrival date was 2 days after I needed it. SueAnn, Evelyn, Louann, and another young lady worked tirelessly (given it was nearly 9pm) to call corporate and insist on rush shipping from the warehouse to the store. SueAnn even followed up with them the next day and demanded overnight shipping if the order had not yet left the warehouse. The staff understood the urgency of my situation, and although it was my fault that it was so last-minute, showed no judgment -- only compassion and dedication to helping me get the problem solved. The dress arrived 3 days before I needed it -- perfect timing that would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of their team! I know there are a few locations surrounding the Boston area, but the Danvers location is the best!!! I cannot thank them enough! And the bride never has to know. ;) read more

So, so much better than I expected. Advice: 1. Make an appointment. 2. Have a list of dresses you want to try on. You can do this by browsing the David's Bridal website and saving dresses as "favorites." Or you can bring your own list. I went on a Saturday morning and while it was crowded, it was pretty organized chaos. I was greeted by the receptionist, filled out some paperwork (making sure to check off the "I don't agree to be contacted by any other stores/vendors"), and then got handed off to Jgorjia. Jgorjia was awesome. She showed me and my friends the sizes that I was, we pulled some, she pulled others, and then we went into the dressing room area. Jgorjia brought me a strapless corset/bra thing to try on with the dresses (as well as some shoes). She helped me into each gown, waited patiently while we took umpteen pictures, didn't pressure me into buying anything (I had promised my mom I would just look), and gave her commentary on what looked best. Now, DB dresses aren't always of the highest quality. However, there are some gems, and the prices can't be beat. So do your research and give this place a shot. Worst thing that can happen is that you don't buy one. read more

I have to say Patrice gets four stars but took away two stars for a few reasons one the store had just opened and it was packed I had an eleven o clock appointment and this poor woman Patrice got called away about six times to help other people she helped me in dresses but I had to look for her to help me out of them. I feel bad i work in retail myself and know that she was obviously overbooked. I also wanted to mention that the dresses as well as the store itself looked cheap the dresses were very worn I tried on two that I liked but it's obvious they were tried on a million times. A little over a year ago my fiancé bought her wedding dress at this David's Bridal location and found her experience to be really great! As the wedding is getting closer, she decided to do a final sizing and realized she wasn't completely happy with the dress that she had chosen. The staff here welcomed her back into the store and provided her the same amazing experience of trying on new dresses. When I called to set up her appointment they were extremely polite to me and didn't make the experience difficult at all. In the end she had a very polite consultant and the manager took time to make sure everything was great. She found the dress of her dreams and is happy with what she chose and even more happy with the experience she had here. This has to be one of the best David Bridal locations she has shopped at. read more

We drove a while to come in a take a look at the dresses. There was one that we really loved, but they didn't let us try on the dress because we didn't have an appointment. They wanted us to wait 3 hours to try on one dress! Very disappointed with the service. Other people came in after and they just asked them to simply sign in. There was only one more person looking at dresses. Perhaps the store has a racial issue? Again very disappointed with the customer service. If you are a person of color do not come here, go somewhere else more inclusive and respectful. read more

BUYER BEWARE! READ THE SMALL PRINT! While the staff at DB Danvers is nice, they are ultimately unhelpful. I had an appointment to try on dresses for my outdoor wedding. I ended up buying a dress, but was torn about the length of it. The store ordered it on April 7, I received the email April 25th that my gown was ready to be picked up. At this point, I decided to go in a different direction with the length, and since the consultant during my fitting wouldn't show me shorter length dresses, I looked elsewhere. When I called corporate April 25th, they said I had to go through the store for a return, and to talk with the manager- I did, the store manager said that I could not return the dress, even though I never touched it, that I could only get something else of equal or greater value in the store. I can't shop online, only in the store. They don't give store credit. When I mentioned the email saying to pick up in 7 days or it is subject to the abandoned merchandise policy, she said to ignore it, " that no matter how threatening the emails are, they will hold my dress until 3 months after my August wedding date." I called the corporate number again, only to be told that their hands are tied due to Covid. The old policy gave you 4 or 7 days to return after it came into the store, but now due to Covid it is 7 days after purchase. It would make sense if I had seen or touched the dress, had it in my house, but this is not the case. They have my dress, my money, and say I have no options but to spend the money there- I don't need anything there! I'm very unhappy! 3.5 for service and 2 for quality of bridal dresses (which is really what it's all about). In summary, the dresses were not worth the asking price. For the most part they felt cheap and very see-through. Like when you want to buy a flannel, but it's like tissue paper and somehow costs $50. I probably tried on about 10 or more here. I felt cheap in most of them. Their weak clips didn't really clinch the dress to my body to get a true look and feel. My dressing attendant was helpful, but busy pulling dresses 1/2 the time. She tried, but wasn't really nailing down my tastes and also didn't agree with me when I said certain dresses made certain features of my body unflattering. I felt like she wasn't being totally honest. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't a glamorous experience either. I joined my best friend & the bride to find bridesmaid dresses at this location. We were crammed in a tight corridor of dressing rooms with other people doing the same so it was hot and felt chaotic. The women helping us could barely find all the sizes in the dress we were trying on. We had to try on different dresses just to get an idea of size. She stressed to us it took 20 weeks to order the dress we chose, in the color we wanted. We all received it in 4 weeks. We all felt mislead with fear to order quickly and I was not surprised to find the women who helped us no longer worked there when I contacted about alterations. My second trip was a solo one to discuss ordering a smaller size or to do alterations as I had lost weight. The women who greeted me was super friendly, but the older women she set me up with was very rude. As a sales person, I suspected she was reluctant to help someone that wouldn't lead to commission. She took my measurements and asked what size I had, and said that was the size I measured at. I asked to try on the dress to show her where it was too large, to which she agreed that the dress was too big. The first, friendly women came over to discuss alterations and the possibility of ordering the new dress. I was happy to talk to her about my options. When I went to change back into my clothes, the older women was already gone without a word. She has no concept of customer service. I will start by say I went on December 4, and had a great experience with our saleswoman. I knew the gown I wanted & it was the one. I ordered it and paid in full, was told it would be in early April., plenty of time for my August wedding. On Tuesday April 25 I received a call telling me that they are unable to get my gown. This is 4 1/2 months after I ordered it, when it was to be in?? You are just figuring this out I have now less than 4 months to find a dress. I went here the other day to pick up some undergarments for my wedding dress. The woman who helped me was awesome, she helped me pick a corset and a slip that both ended up being just perfect under my dress! They had a humongous selection of everything from bridesmaid dresses to veils to shoes and little gifts, it definitely seems like you can get everything you need there and do a one stop shop. Lovely dress and the sales representative gave us plenty of time. My problem is that when we asked the sales representative if we could alter the chosen dress and she brought out the seamstress to take a look. She said yes. Weeks later, when we went in for the alterations, the same seamstress said that it would be impossible to do those alterations and ended up charging us $125 dollars for the ones she did. Now we have a dress my daughter doesn't want to wear because it doesn't fit well and we're nearly $300 in the hole. Yikes. Go to Macy's. A lot easier and MUCH cheaper. read more

My fiancee and I went in with the following: 3 Mothers of the Brides, 1 flower girl, 2 MoH, 1 Bridesmaid and 1 JR Bridesmaid on January 19th for a 430 pm appointment. I will state that we did have a bit of a complicated wedding party and a complicated color scheme but I wrote it all down for the associate helping us as well as used the color swatches and visual aids of exactly what I wanted. Few issues have arose from this day. They ordered the wrong length for one of the bridesmaid dresses. They ordered the long one vs the short one. Luckily my bridesmaid noticed it on a receipt that it was the wrong dress a few days later. I went in and spoke to them and got that fixed. That day the associate helping us made a very uncalled for comment about my fiancee's little sister. She is 10 years old and is bigger for her age. Very rude she said to me IN FRONT OF THE CHILD that she was TOO BIG for Jr Bridesmaid dresses and that HER SIZE was actually bigger than her MOTHER'S. Who in their right mind would body shame a 10 year old in front of them? Bring me off to the side or just get a dress that fits her. On that day I was also told it would be 3 months for all the dresses to come in. I asked would that be the same if they had to make it from scratch and I was told yes. January 19th + 3 months = April 19th! Wonderful! Now they have just shy of 60 days to get alterations. Works perfect for a June 15th wedding. Flower girl dress comes in. 2 out of 3 of the mother of the brides dress come in. 1 Maid of Honor. Jr Bridesmaid. February 2nd I come in with my last bridesmaid. They said it would be about 10 minutes to get someone to help us but if we know where the dresses are to go look at it and if it has her size to try it on and they would send someone over there to help us. Takes us about 15 minutes to find the dress. I show her the dress, the long version since you do not have the short one in stock. She tries on an 8 and it fits fairly well. We are at about 25 minutes in and someone finally comes over and says oh great it fits, lets fake measurements on the sheet because they require we put real ones. Lovely. At the register I inquire on the other few dresses and they say that they are still being processed. No problem because it was within the 3 months. We pay for her dress and leave. February 2nd + 3 months = May 2nd. Getting close but 45 days is enough time to get it altered without rushing people. First week of March I call back again to just check the status of the 2 bridesmaids, 1 MOH and 1 Mother of the Bride dress. An Associate tells me that 3/4 won't be in until May 15th and 1 (the one ordered later because she was in the hospital) won't be in until JUNE 3rd! THAT'S 12 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING!!!!!!! NOW 3 HAVE TO RUSH A MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING AND GET THEIR DRESSES ALTERED AND 1 HAS 12 DAYS. I explain to the associate my worry and she says a nonchalant sorry and that we can pay an ADDITIONAL FEE to have the dress rushed to be altered. On March 21st, my MOH gets an email that her dress is ready for pickup. Eased me a bit so I decided to inquire on the other three. I call the Danvers location again and the person who had answered the phone needs a bit more training on reading the screen that you have the status information on. She tells me that my mother's dress was pushed out till May 18th, as has my bridesmaid and the other bridesmaid is still June 3rd. I question why it was pushed out later and what happened to the 3 months from start to finish? She is unable to answer so gets her manager. The manager gets on the phone, with an attitude. She tells me that it takes 16 weeks and she has no idea why her associate told her other wise but that would be the LATEST it would be ready for pick up and "THAT'S HOW IT IS". Is this really customer service? I had 5 bridesmaid/MOH dresses averaging $120. 5 x 120 = 600 3 Mother of the Bride dresses averaging $150. 3 x 150 = 450 Flower girl $50 My dress $550 My fiancess dress $450 $2100 we have spent collectively and this is the service we receive? I have also purchased 4 prom dresses for MCJROTC Balls averaging totaling around $600. After this I will not recommend you to any one or purchase another thing from your establishment. read more

Store manager honored the online only coupon for a bridesmaid dress which saved me from waiting to have the dress shipped. First alterations, were not executed as thoroughly as I would've hoped, but Mirna and Linda were attentive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Linda got me into a fitting a week before the wedding, and Mirna; she knows what she's doing! Both these ladies turned my experience around and prompted me to write this review. I hope they are valued and appreciated! Linda and Mirna you ladies are a great team of alterations and you're worth the very expensive fee lol thanks for taking care of my dilemma. read more

Me and my mother went in to look at mother of the brides dresses. We did not make an appointment so when we walked in the lady said to check in in 20 minutes to see if there was any cancellations because there were no fitting rooms available. We waited the 20 minutes and nobody was up front to check in with us. The place was a zoo and there was a very low section of long sleeve dresses.. in February. anyways my mother and i said screw it and snuck in the back where there was atleast 5 open fitting rooms and we were in and out with no useless help. Whats the point of having all those fitting rooms if people cant use them. Anyways thanks for being oblivious so we could use the rooms. read more

My last visit was in January 2013, and I think it's best that I update my review. I hate this place so much. When you arrive, you check in for your appointment. They make sure that you fill out each part of your personal information. I was really hesitant to do this. I knew that they would sell your information to the entire New England region. I asked, if I would be receiving marketing promotions. They confirmed that I will not. Well, it's been nine months, and I still get commercial crap in the mail, annoying calls, text messages and e-mails from things that I do not need or care about. I have been unsubscribing to 3-5 things each day. I hated my consultant. She was impatient and rude. She pushed on dresses that I did not describe and envisioned at all. This place made me sick. I had to walk out. Seriously, if you do not want to be hounded marketers, I suggest making a fake name and number. read more

I scheduled a bridal appointment with Meredith. Myself, my family & my bridesmaids had the most wonderful experience imaginable! Meredith was instantly able to pick out dresses that matched my style just from showing her a few pictures. She was patient & kind as I started to get indecisive between two dresses. I went to the store to pick up a sash my daughter had ordered for her wedding dress and took a chance to see if there was a Mother of the Bride dress for me. I had seen one on their website that I liked so I asked one of the women at the desk if they had the dress. She looked it up and apparently it was an online purchase only. She proceeded to show me some dresses but did not like any. Along came Meredith and she came up with three dresses with long sleeves. She asked me if it was alright if she gave me her opinion on how the dresses looked on me. I told her that I needed someone's opinion since my daughter was not with me. The first one I tried on was navy blue but told her that I did not care for it. I asked her if I could try the eggplant color dress on. When I saw myself in the mirror she and I both agreed that it looked great on me. I immediately fell in love with it but had reservations that it would clash with the burgundy color the bridesmaids were wearing for the wedding. She put me at ease saying that it wouldn't but told me to text my daughter to get her opinion. She texted me back stating "I love it! The color goes with the wedding." That sealed the deal and I bought the dress. The dress I tried on was a size 14 and with the clips on the back it was big. She had me try on a size 10 but that felt a little snug. I must tell you that I have searched hundreds of websites for dresses and have not been able to find anything that I really liked. Sure there were some that were a maybe but if it wasn't for Meredith, I don't know what I would have done without her. She knew what would look best on me and picked out the perfect dress. She has a wonderful personality and is very, very pleasant to talk to. We got along just great. I would highly recommend her to anyone who goes to the store. She is a GEM.
