Store manager honored the online only coupon for a bridesmaid dress which saved me from waiting to have the dress shipped. First alterations, were not executed as thoroughly as I would've hoped, but Mirna and Linda were attentive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Linda got me into a fitting a week before the wedding, and Mirna; she knows what she's doing! Both these ladies turned my experience around and prompted me to write this review. David's Bridal Corporate called em to set up my appointment. I made it for Danvers MA because I was going to Bella Sera that morning. When I arrived, I found out they'd scheduled me for Dedham. But even though it was Saturday and they were swamped, they made it work. Jgorjia (pronounced like Georgia) was assigned to help. Unlike the Davids in Nashua NH (where Lauren yelled at my friend for touching a dress) Jgorjia allowed me and my two besties to go straight to the rack and start pulling dresses. In addition, this was my fourth store looking for dresses and she was the only person who really *listened* and found me the dress I was asking for. I pointed to one - "I want a bottom like that." Pointed to another - "and a top like that." And guess what? She found it for me! Don't get me wrong. She didn't help me try anything on, and she disappeared for 15 minutes at a time. But she found me the dress. That's all I cared about. And although lots of people have talked about the sales folks being pushy, when I was leaving I asked Jgorjia if she worked on commission (I wanted to buy it at a different store) and she answered "we're all one big happy family. I'm just glad I could help you." Talk about non-pushy (especially as I've since learned that they do indeed make commission). I'd been to much fancier shops and yes, the quality at David's isn't as good. The satin isn't as smooth and things just feel cheap compared to other places. But my dress has tulle covering the whole thing, and doesn't look or feel cheap at all. The bodice is strong and fitted and the dress is beautiful. Hopefully I'll still feel that way when mine arrives and alterations are finished. I ended up ordering it from Nashua but made sure Jgorjia got the commission. She was fantastic! read more

Giving this David's Bridal even one star is being generous! I chose this store initially just to look, but as I was looking, I found my dream dress. Every time I walked in that place I felt bombarded by sales people who always forgot they were just talking to me. I felt rushed, I felt stressed, and even felt unpretty! The woman who was helping me, or suppose to be helping me had her own idea of what a bride should look like and put down anything that I liked. She continuously commented on my too thin figure and made me feel like I was not going to make a beautiful bride. The alterations are by far the worst however! I made an appointment well in advanced and getting to this shop was no easy task! It was a 45 minute drive from my house. When I got there, they said the alterations woman was not feeling well and they would need to reschedule. No call, no nothing. So, no, I said we had to do it today because I am a busy woman with other things to do while planning a wedding. She ruined my dress. Not only did she mess up on my bustles TWICE, but when my bridesmaids and I made a joke about my small boobs, she took it upon herself to sew in dark beige pillows on the inside of my dress to make my boobs look huge and fake! They were SEWN in! It looked hideous and felt so uncomfortable and if I wanted to have them taken out, she would have charged me for them! I was mortified! She also altered my rehearsal dinner dress and the pleats were done so horribly that it made my behind look huge! I could not have felt more unattractive in a potato sack. My bridesmaids were also pressured into trying things on that they repeatedly said they were uncomfortable in. The problem with this store is that they do not listen and they are too pushy to even care! Every time I walked in that store, my blood pressure would shoot through the roof. I was so thankful the day my alterations were finally done, that as I left, I almost cried because I was so glad I would never have to come back. read more

First, I would give 5 stars to the stylist, Olga, who helped me and my sister. We didn't find quite the right maid of honor dress, but Olga was very helpful in pulling dresses according to what we suggested. She helped us on her first day with her own clients, but she seemed to know the stock very well and was good at responding to our input. The reason for only 1 star for the store as a whole is that they have given my contact information to other companies against my request. I didn't want to fill out their contact form, but I ended up doing it because we wanted to save a record of a couple of the dresses. I specifically checked the box that said I did not want to receive any emails or phone calls, and assumed that would take care of it. Yet, I started getting multiple David's Bridal emails every day following our visit, and now I am getting phone calls from all sorts of wedding scams. I've managed to unsubscribe from the emails, and am going to contact the store about the phone calls soon. It's such a pain to deal with this sort of thing, especially when couples are already bombarded with so much wedding advertising. read more

This rating will go up if I actually make a purchase. I might. I'm tempted. David's bridal may not offer the best quality of dress, but my mom made a great point: as long as the dress gets you through the day, who cares if it isn't made of pearls, diamonds, and other fancy materials (whatever those may be). This advice, I'm considering. Anywho, I made an appt at this location so my best friend from Maine could join me (it's sort of in between us??). Two friends came along. It was an adventure. An adventure in a jungle of white, ivory, and champagne colored fancy frocks. At the risk of my fiance reading this review, I cannot divulge you as to my favorite color or style, but let's just say that I tried on about 25 dresses and narrowed my favorites down to three. Prices ranged from $550 to $950 (sale) and all were equally lovely; it was all about the style. I have to say that my "consultant" wasn't all that helpful. I found that the other mothers, brides to be, and of course my friends, provided the best feedback that any girl could get. So why the three stars? Well, it took 2.5 hrs to go through these dresses. I only expected to stick around for 1.5 hrs (which I used to estimate my zipcar reservation; unfortunately got nailed with a late fee instead). Also, it's not like you're in a private room with all eyes on you. It's not a terrible feature, but I partially flashed several strangers. And finally, it was obvious that my "consultant" wanted to make a sale. She tossed every excuse possible to make it seem like I should put an order in that day: sale ends tomorrow, dresses have a long lead time, blah blah blah. I'm in no rush here. I have a year to go. But don't get me wrong - I will buy a dress. So my advice to brides to be or anyone who is part of the wedding: + Plan a half day with these people + Be patient; there is a dress for everyone here + Bring water! You never know how long you'll be stuck in the changing room! + Bring a paper and pencil so you can track the dresses you try on But to be honest, there are a lot of beautiful dresses at David's Bridal. Surprise yourself and give it a go. You might end up with the perfect fit, style, color for under $500. read more

So a few weeks ago on a Saturday, I started feeling anxious about not having tried on any wedding dresses and after being pestered by plenty of people who told me that it was "dangerous" not to have a dress picked out 6months before the wedding, I decided it was time. I gave the folks at David's Bridal a call and they told me that they typically have people schedule appointments if they want to try dresses on to reserve a room and have a consultant ready to help you out. But that day they had so few that they told me just to drop by. The plan was to just try on some styles and see what looked best. I met my mother there and when we entered the store, we were met by a lady who told us to go look around and select a few dresses that I'd want to try on then go back to her to fill out some information. For the dresses, I do have to say they do have a decent selection of a variety of styles. Granted, since nearly every dress right now is strapless, it's hard to find other styles in terms of sleeves, etc. Most of their strapless dresses can come with spaghetti straps. Since my wedding is in the Fall I was looking for something with a little more coverage up top. After I found the dresses I wanted to try I went back to the table and they had me fill out some forms and set me up with a consultant, Cindy. I told Cindy what I was looking for and beyond helping with the dresses I chose to try on, she brought out some dresses for me to try that I wouldn't have pulled on my own. And in fact, I ended up purchasing a dress that I don't think I ever would have thought to try on. I've got to pick up the dress and they were great about that as well. I tried it on again to make sure everything was a-OK and another consultant helped me out (Tina). She was also very good and very helpful. In fact, in my dealings with the staff at this store, so far, everyone has been extremely nice and helpful - which is perfect and necessary for someone who is a bit nervous and unsure about buying a wedding dress for the first time. ;) read more

My cousin & I ventured out here a couple weeks ago so that I could try on some bridesmaid dresses. We were looking for tea length & possibly 2 piece, which I have to admit, there wasn't a gigantic selection. The salesgirl helped us fill our room with the items for us to try on, but we never saw her again...which is pretty a-typical to most Davids Bridal salons. In any event, I can't really complain about the actual garments because clothes like that either look really great or really terrible on me. But in any event, we probably won't be going back to this location, simply for the lack of attentiveness on their part. read more

This gets two stars for the fact that there was a large selection, and I took it for what it was going into it. Lots of dresses, lots of static cling with the plastic bags on the dresses and the retro carpet, lots and lots of mirrored dressing rooms and cheapo accessories/shoes. The salespeople helping me were a mixed bag. One lady was nice and hands-off. Another was a bit too hovery, too pushy. Before I even tried on a dress she was like "ok now you come pick shoes!" (she was Russian. She gets points for being a cute little Russian lady who continuously called me "my love".) I assured her I didn't need shoes yet, and somehow found this weird corset bra in my hand as well with the dress...I didn't have any undergarments handed to me at any other places I went, so I was feelin' the 'upsell' nature of the store, as I expected. The dresses I tried on were pretty, though their cheapo quality was pretty obvious. 100% polyester, through and through upon checking the tag, though the salespeople referred to them as organza and satin. hm.... Also, to my confusion (was I excited? Was I sad?), one of the dresses I tried on was an EXACT replica of a Sophia Tolli gown I had tried on at a boutique earlier in the day. Like, blatantly obvious, "ok let's look at this Sophia Tolli dress and try to cheaply recreate it but make it just different enough so we don't get sued" style. The Sophia Tolli dress was gorgeous so I was kind of excited when I put this one on to see how similar it was and how much cheaper. But then I felt kind of bad about it, and obviously the craftsmanship and materials were not up to snuff with the designer gown. But honestly, would you expect that??? David's Bridal is what it is. You can tell from the website and the commercials exactly what it's going to be like, and I definitely enjoy a good bargain as much as the next financially struggling, er, frugal bride. I'm just torn between whether it's worth it to sacrifice quality for money, though it is only a material item that you'll wear for a few hours. All in all, I say David's Bridal is worth going to just for the experience. Best case scenario, you find your dream gown. Worst case scenario, it's chaotic/annoying and you and your friends have a great laugh about it later. (hopefully worst case isn't actually buying a dress and having a disaster as some other reviews have entailed.) read more

Me and my mother went in to look at mother of the brides dresses. We did not make an appointment so when we walked in the lady said to check in in 20 minutes to see if there was any cancellations because there were no fitting rooms available. We waited the 20 minutes and nobody was up front to check in with us. The place was a zoo and there was a very low section of long sleeve dresses.. in February. anyways my mother and i said screw it and snuck in the back where there was atleast 5 open fitting rooms and we were in and out with no useless help. Whats the point of having all those fitting rooms if people cant use them. Anyways thanks for being oblivious so we could use the rooms. read more

First I have to say something that STILL makes me angry when I think about it.... I went to Davids Bridal because I DIDNT want the annoying attention from small boutiques, I didn't want ladies gushing over things and getting emotional and waiting for me to cry over a dress. I'm not going to cry over a dress. It's just a dress. Anyway... as soon as I walked in, I had to "register," which was an immediate downer... it's like I couldn't even just go and look around without giving them my info and my date and everything. Alright, no problem, I thought.... so I tried on a few dresses, left without buying because I wanted to think about it and THEN..... One day after I left I started getting the phone calls, e-mails and snail mails. Every day, multiple times a day, various videography, photography, and honeymoon or cruise companies would call me leaving me voicemails. One company called me so much I felt like I had been sent to a collection agency... and when I looked up the company online, there were various reports that it was a scam saying you won a bridal package and really didn't etc. Really??? OK, I don't mind the ads in the mail for Mr. Tux or whatever, or the occasional spam e-mail... but daily voicemails from a SPAMMING company is completely disgusting I swear, I almost didn't go back to Davids Bridal again just because I was so pissed over the spam. I was never given ANY opportunity to opt out of any of those things... and I wasn't told that I was signing up for anything or that my information would be sold to third party companies. I did go back, and I did end up buying my dress there. 5 stars for my dress.... which has nothing to do with Davids and everything to do with Oleg Cassini. Actually.. the DB dresses were pretty uninspiring, on a whole. I wish I had complained to them about this.. shame on me for not doing so. The calls didn't stop for about 3 months. read more

I made an appointment with David's Bridal with no intentions of actually finding a dress. I looked online and found many that I "liked" and one that I "loved" but I wasn't getting my hopes up. I went to David's on a Saturday with fair warning from the associate that it will be busy and chaotic. I understood and had no choice as the guests I wanted there could only do Saturday. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted by an associate. I could have done without the Men's Warehouse woman trying to get me to purchase tuxedos when I was there for my wedding dress but whatever. Sarah (maybe it's spelt Sara) was the associate assigned to me. She was helpful, cheerful and so sweet. I tried on a few dresses but there wasn't really one that stood out to me. She offered a Bridal Book to my Mom and soon to be Mother in-law as my Sister helped me get into another dress. I just wasn't enjoying them. Before getting my hopes up my Mom and Mother in-law found a dress they wanted me to try on and Sarah immediately ran to get it. My sister helped me in the dress and I immediately cried upon putting it on. IT WAS THE ONE! Sarah came over and made me feel even more beautiful in it. She helped me look at veils and even offered advice on them. The alterations manager came over and she was so sweet! Afterwards the manager came over with Sarah and I rang the bell to shout to the store that I said "yes to the dress!" Overall it was a fantastic experience and I loved every minute of it. It's definitely busy on Saturday's so if you're a bride who wants quiet time, go during the week! Thank you again Sarah, you were amazing! read more

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I'm getting married in June an they have been nothing but so much extra stress I don't need. They ordered the wrong flower girl dress twice and now I'm stuck with a dress I didn't pick because they said the dresses wouldn't come in time for the wedding. The stylists are supposed to be helping you but they'll disappear for a while while they help other brides & maids shop so they can make some $$ off them. The workers are always yelling at each other while helping customers and I find that very unprofessional and rude. They push the dress you kind of like to get you in and out of there and have theyre money in theyre pocket. BRIDES: do not use this place for any dresses/accessories/etc. read more

I scheduled a bridal appointment with Meredith. Myself, my family & my bridesmaids had the most wonderful experience imaginable! Meredith was instantly able to pick out dresses that matched my style just from showing her a few pictures. She was patient & kind as I started to get indecisive between two dresses. I went to the store to pick up a sash my daughter had ordered for her wedding dress and took a chance to see if there was a Mother of the Bride dress for me. I had seen one on their website that I liked so I asked one of the women at the desk if they had the dress. She looked it up and apparently it was an online purchase only. She proceeded to show me some dresses but did not like any. Along came Meredith and she came up with three dresses with long sleeves. She asked me if it was alright if she gave me her opinion on how the dresses looked on me. I told her that I needed someone's opinion since my daughter was not with me. The first one I tried on was navy blue but told her that I did not care for it. I asked her if I could try the eggplant color dress on. When I saw myself in the mirror she and I both agreed that it looked great on me. I immediately fell in love with it but had reservations that it would clash with the burgundy color the bridesmaids were wearing for the wedding. She put me at ease saying that it wouldn't but told me to text my daughter to get her opinion. She texted me back stating "I love it! The color goes with the wedding." That sealed the deal and I bought the dress. The dress I tried on was a size 14 and with the clips on the back it was big. She had me try on a size 10 but that felt a little snug. I must tell you that I have searched hundreds of websites for dresses and have not been able to find anything that I really liked. Sure there were some that were a maybe but if it wasn't for Meredith, I don't know what I would have done without her. She knew what would look best on me and picked out the perfect dress. She has a wonderful personality and is very, very pleasant to talk to. We got along just great. I would highly recommend her to anyone who goes to the store. She is a GEM. This is not just a regular chain dress shop! I cannot recommend my experience enough! In the last month or so, I have gone in to David's bridal 4 separate times, had an absolutely incredible experience every time, and worked with multiple representatives. I first went in with my mother, wedding planner, and a bridesmaid as a preliminary sweep through to see what they had that I might like, with exceptionally low expectations. We were directed to the dresses, and Meredith came over right after. Within minutes, we were all absolutely in love with her. She could not have been any more knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. It was with Meredith's help and suggestions that I actually was not miserable trying on clothes for once. It was incredibly simple, stepping into dresses, taking them off, and passing them out, as she brought them in for me to try and put them away when needed, organizing what I liked and what I didn't. It was on her suggestion that I tried on a strapless dress that I normally never would've considered for myself. I walked out, and then my wedding planner was the first to cry, with everyone else soon following. It was THE dress. That I never would've tried on if it wasn't for her, that I was not expecting to find on my very first trip. After that, Meredith and Lulu helped us take a preliminary peek at Bridesmaids dresses, register for the savings program, and quickly order order my dress, adding to my great experience. Then, a few days later, David's Bridal had a store-wide sale online for Thanksgiving. After working with phone representatives, we were told the only way to get the price adjusted would be to go in store. Given that it was Thanksgiving, that was not possible, so we had to order the dress a second time, in order to make sure we got the better price. Thankfully, even on Black Friday, they were just as helpful and accommodating as they had been on our first trip, adjusted the in-store price, and then were able to cancel the new online order we'd made. I also spoke to Laura and another one of the girls there, got great advice about shapewear, was showed a few possibilities, and left with another great experience. After this, I went in again on December 4th with 2 of my bridesmaids, and booked back to back appointments. Meredith was once again there and extremely helpful and kind to both me and my bridesmaids, once again making it an incredible experience. One of my bridesmaids was running a few hours late, and Meredith had to go. Laura once again was there and stepped in for us, and was beyond incredible. She helped with sizes and general advice, and let me also put my dress back on to narrow down my veil options, and we came to the conclusion that I honestly probably don't need shapewear. The store was extremely accommodating and those helping us were extremely patient with the wait. Laura then also helped me take a look at other accessories and options, even bending down to help me put on shoes while I still had my dress on. My bridesmaids and I could not have felt more taken care of by these ladies, who truly make it all feel like a personal experience, consistently taking the time to help on a one-on-one level. My last trip was to pick up my dress this past Saturday. Meredith immediately spotted me on my way in and greeted me like an old friend, offering up her station for me to quickly try on my dress and make sure it fit well and looked good. She then went to get Isa from the alterations department, who came highly recommended and quickly came out and gave an estimate on what to expect as far as alterations costs. Meredith then quickly helped undo my dress, waited outside for me to hand it to her, and put it away for me so I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. Every single experience I have had at this store in the last month has been simple, seamless, personalized, and welcoming. I have never felt more surrounded by supportive women. Even though I'm sure their salespeople work on commission, there is no pressure to purchase, no one is there to make you uncomfortable, and even with no sale in sight, everyone is more than happy to provide any kind of assistance or help when needed. I cannot recommend both Laura and Meredith enough - both are absolutely incredibly supportive and helpful women. But from everyone at the front, to every single other person I interacted with on the floor, I really don't think you could go wrong. read more

Pros: Found the perfect wedding dress for a reasonable price, sales staff was friendly and helpful, dress arrived over a month earlier than estimated. Cons: Staff a bit pushy on the accessories, long lines and rude cashiers Overall though, it was a positive experience. The saleswoman assigned to me brought out dresses that met what I described I was interested in. They made sure I had the appropriate undergarments. I found my "dream" dress after only trying 5 dresses: it was beautiful and the price was right. My maid of honor later purchased her gown here. Again, reasonable price and it looked great. The only real negative experience happened at the cash registers. Because we had to go back a few times (initial visit, pickup dresses, etc), we were forced to wait in long, 45-minute lines, only to be met with a grumpy, bored, or disinterested cashier. But I'm convinced every David's Bridal is exactly the same. David's Bridal stores are certainly worth the visit due to their large stock of wedding dresses. Just don't expect topnotch customer service, and don't be afraid to say no. read more

If I could give this location a zero I would. The staff is wonderful but the management is god awful. I bought a dress in September 2019 and my mom paid for it I called to check on it in January 2020 and they had zero records of my dress. They said the payment must not have gone through and no one told me about it! I could've been waiting months and not even had my dress if I never checked on it! I attempted to order it over the phone and the manager became nasty and told me I couldn't pay over the phone and HAD to come in even though they had my whole profile on file. It's now August and I haven't heard a single thing about my dress and my wedding is 11/1. I called today and the manager annoyed with my question told me they had it and I had to pick it up within 7 days. What if I wanted alterations!??? Why didn't anyone tell me about it being at the actual shop? If I didn't call, would I have found out about it? Absolutely terrible. Avoid this location at all costs. read more

I am extremely upset with my experience. My first trip with my mother and sisters was lovely. I found the dress of my dreams and was so happy with it. I rang the bell and was very happy with the lovely lady who was helping me that day. My mom paid for my dress and it was ordered. A few weeks later, I went with my mother and future mother in law to pick up my dress. It was handed to me and I asked to try it on to show my future mother in law. I was barely acknowledged and not helped. My mother asked someone to please help me find a proper bra/corset and was brought back one option that didn't fit me well. I was told I would need to find my undergarments elsewhere, as that was the only bra for wedding dresses they carried. My mother and I found undergarments for about $65 for me to wear with my dress. For my fitting, I brought my undergarments. I put my dress on and was immediately told by a woman managing the seamstresses that I couldn't wear what I brought and that it would never work (abruptly and rudely.) She then said they had three other types of undergarments. I said I was told there was only one, hence why I spent money on what I brought. She said "everyone here knows what they're doing" and "nobody would have said that." She also said, "I'm not trying to sell her a bra I'm trying to find what will work best with the dress," to my mother right in front of me. I was blown away at how I was being treated. After my seamstress (who was actually very nice) finishing pinning, the other woman rattled off the expenses for all of my alterations which was an astronomical $650. I was told my dress would be ready for pick up on a specific day (6 weeks from this fitting.) It seemed that as soon as I purchased my dress at my first visit, the attitudes from all staff I worked with completely changed from being polite, kind and helpful to acting annoyed and rushed with anything I asked for help with. The day before my pick up date (Saturday), I received a call (which I assumed was a confirmation phone call) asking initially if I could come in on Monday instead of Sunday, to which I said no, as I work full time. She then proceeded to say how many alterations were needed for my dress, and that she doesn't like to "rush seamstresses..." This was seemingly an attempt to put their lack of planning and preparedness on me, and almost seemed to serve as a disclaimer for sloppy, rushed work, which made me very upset and stressed. "Why would anyone be rushing? I came 6 weeks ago for my fitting - why would anyone be rushing to complete it?" I asked. As my wedding is in 2 and a half weeks, my stress level was already pretty high, and the way this call was handled made me soooooo much more stressed and upset. She then asked me, "What would you like me to do?" To which I replied I wanted my dress ready to pick up on the day I scheduled 6 weeks ago. She then told me she was going to have to have a seamstress come in early to finish it for the time I was given, as if that had anything to do with me or like it was my fault? It seemed as though my dress had been forgotten about, and that their lack of planning was becoming my emergency, which I found unacceptable. I was luckily able to pick up my dress, and it looked great. However, I feel as though this experience was completely tainted and ruined. Something special that I was supposed to share with my mother was turned into such an unpleasant, stressful, and upsetting experience. It came to my attention as well that all of my bridesmaids had a hard time with the employees at David's, who all insisted they order larger sizes - most likely to make more money with additional alterations. Very disappointing. I will NEVER go there, or recommend David's to anyone, including many of my close friends who are just engaged or about to be engaged. read more

I didn't enjoy my David's experience. I didn't make an appointment, just walked which could be part of the problem. They took my information and had a woman come out to assist me. The problem was she was already assisting another couple of brides. (I went on a weekday during the day) I felt bad that really no one was getting the attention they deserved. Yes they have several dresses, and the prices range. They didn't have a single thing I was crazy about. Maybe it was because the woman wasn't able to look around for me, but I combed through all the racks and was dissapointed in the selection. My experience was a 1 star, I left because after trying on a gown I felt that I was infringing on another brides appointment, meanwhile there were several staff members doing nothing. I think you could find a gown here but it wasn't for me. read more

The WORST customer service I have ever encountered in retail, with the rudest of all being the manager. I was so nervous going to my appointment after reading all the bad reviews . I thought it would be very stressful trying to find the dress but Roberta was such a sweetheart. My spouse had the worst possible experience at this store. The manager Suanne was the most off-putting, callous woman she has ever met. My spouse is in a wedding coming up this weekend, and she needed to exchange her dress size. After calling multiple stores in Connecticut, she finally called the Danvers store. The customer service rep Angel was an absolute sweetheart, and helped her immensely. She told her she could drive up Sunday and exchange the dress with no problems. My spouse left work Sunday night from the Bradley Air Force Base in Hartford, CT. She drove 200 miles, over 2 and a half hours to get up to this store. When she got there she was met with Suanne who denied her the dress. She told her that it was "not the David Bridal's way." She barely tried to look for the dress, then told her she couldn't find it and that she was not allowed to exchange it. When my spouse, who was in full military uniform, told her about the wedding and how badly she needed it, the manager finally called another store. While on the phone with the other manager, Suanne openly mocked her for being in uniform and also shamed her in front of customers for needing a new dress size. Her demeanor was horrid, and she was so incredibly rude as her employees watched with visibly disgusted faces. I cannot believe that a customer service worker, let alone a manager, would be so rude to a customer. I absolutely cannot fathom how she could be so rude to someone in uniform who serves our country. This experience was the most negative thing we have witnessed at any store, or restaurant. I'm posting this review again, because it seems as if David's Bridal has deleted it. My recommendation would be to go elsewhere. The store associate I met was unhelpful, short with me, and awful. I brought her five screenshots of bridal gowns straight from the David's Bridal website, and she very oddly refused to look at them -- didn't try to get a feel for what I liked or my style. She said I needed "to see dresses in person" -- and when I did not like the dresses she suggested, she snapped at me saying that "you need to pick something to try on." She helped me to try on two dresses, and after the third dress, literally left my friend and I there to fend for ourselves so she could go sit behind the register and take a break. We even had to hang the dresses back on the hangers. I'd like to also mention that there was one other customer in the store, so it's not like they were busy. Such a huge disappointment. read more

I read other reviews complaining of poor customer service at David's Bridal, but I have had nothing but great and friendly experiences with the team at the Danvers location. I'm shocked that a company with such affordable ricing can also offer great customer service. From my initial visit to begin looking at wedding dresses to my alterations appointment and search for bridesmaid dresses, etc. I have been delighted with. The helpfulness and kindness of the staff. Frankly, I can afford to shop anywhere, (sorry if that sounds snobby) but I went to David's because the location was convenient for me. I was pleasantly surprised to find the perfect wedding gown on my first visit. I was amazed by the great price when I went to the desk to pay. I love Vera Wang's wedding gowns, and 2 as desperate to try one on while dress shopping. After a disappointing experience at a different location, I found myself in Danvers to have a second look at my favorite dress and see what different inventory they had. I was given to Cindy for my appointment, and she was FANTASTIC. I didn't have fun shopping on my prior trip, but I had a blast with her. She zoned in on my style right away and showed me some incredible dresses. I didn't intend to purchase that day, but she made me feel so excited in my dress that I didn't want to leave it there. She also convinced me to try on veils (and changed my mind on them), and helped my mother start her mother if the bride dress search. I will definitely be taking to drive to see her for my bridesmaids! read more

The sales personnel customer service skills are in need of major help. They do not appear qualified in my opinion to be selling items worth hundreds of dollars. They should be working at the dollar store instead. I went in here to look for a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. It took over 1 1/2 hours before someone asked if I needed help. I also tried to get the attention of a sales clerk in the meantime and she said that she would be with me shortly. She never came around. This shop is so tacky. Not to mention the tiaras, that are of very low quality, and marked up astronomocal. The only $99 wedding dresses I saw were the big puffy lace ones that make you look rediculous and were ivory in color. I would never drop my money in this store. I paid a professional tailor to make my dress. Same price, less hassle of dealing with people who have no clue what they are doing. And I refuse to increase someones paycheck with a commission after I had to wait over an hour for them to acknowledge me. Why? They did no work, they gave me 1 and 1/2 hours to make my decision. I got my dress for $99 and although yes the selection is vast and the store can be a bit overwhelming I was happy because I wasn't planning on making buying my dress a big thing, our wedding was a bit on the fly and there were only going to be close friends and relatives there. I wasn't stressing. I walked in with my Mother in Law and walked out with a dress within an hour. It was beautiful and perfect. The staff is always overwhelmed or it seems because they do a million things and there's always a ton of customers there but when you need help they will assist you. And they always have amazing sales. Mine was originally supposed to be close to $400! The key to any dress shopping is just to have fun with it and you'll find something you love. read more

Honestly, I really didn't expect to like this place too much. I only came here to appease my mother. As it turns out, Mother knows best, at least as far as formal dress shopping is concerned. I went to two high end boutiques (one in West Hollywood, CA and one in Boston), as well as the David's Bridal in Burbank, CA. Honestly, after those experiences, I was exhausted and figured I'd just buy a white dress from Nordstroms or something. Having already had a horrible David's Bridal experience at another location, I was internally kicking and screaming at the loss of a day to another crappy bridal store. However, at this David's Bridal, we got paired with God's gift to bridal gown shopping. She's a petite little brunette named ANYA, and she rules! After visiting with three other places where the attendants were unhelpful space-shots with absolutely no vision (I'm a size 2 (a sample size 4) and they actually told me I'd need to lose weight if I wanted to fit into the type of dress I wanted), Anya was filled with ideas, fun, and enthusiasm. She had great advice on how to flatter my shape, and on why one dress was better for my personality than another. In the end, I was torn between two dresses (remember, I had already been to another David's Bridal and left without anything), but I am so excited about the dress I ended up with that I literally daydream about it. The perfect day. The perfect dress. And all to the tune of under $700. Anya kicks a whole lot of bridal boutique ass. ** A few bits of advice: Go on the David's Bridal website and favorite dresses you want to try. They'll have them ready for you and it will save time. Also, make an appointment. David's Bridal will let you in the store without one but it's not likely they'll be able to give you much help if you don't. read more

I found an amazing dress here and I thought the customer service was great! Danielle was my sales consultant and she's very sweet, patient and listens to what you like. I actually purchased a dress on my first visit but after a few days I had second thoughts. I was worried that I was stuck and would have to eat the cost but they were very flexible with allowing me to exchange. Trisha was the manager that answered my calls and she was very helpful! I went back and tried on a dress that I saw online and I really fell in love. The dress is really nice quality for the price! I also found an amazing veil to go with it. I came here to simply "look" at wedding gowns, I really did not know exactly what I wanted for my Caribbean destination wedding and I figured David's Bridal would be a good place to just start looking. It's so hard to look at dresses online as they always look so different in person. I made an appointment online and Roberta was assigned as my salesperson and she was amazing, she is so kind and I didn't feel pressured at all which was great. I really loved her warm personality and she really put me at ease. As a plus size bride, she also helped me feel confident and beautiful. I showed her a few pictures of some ideas I had, told her I wanted a long dress but that I was open to trying different styles on. She had me pick out a few from a rack and we got started. She also took some pictures of me in different dresses which was helpful as my mom lives far away and I have chosen to do without the drama of a wedding party. By the end of the appointment I was a bit overwhelmed, we had started with really simple dresses and they got more ornate as we went, I loved the last gown I tried on but I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't want to buy it for some reason. I made a follow up appointment for the next day and took some time to think when I was away from the store. That evening was when it hit me that the dress for me was not the fanciest last one I had tried on, but was one I had tried on a few dresses prior, it was comfortable and lightweight and made more sense for my laid back beach wedding. I found the dress online that evening and took note of it. The next day at my follow up appointment Roberta got me back in it and I immediately knew it was the one! She also helped me find an awesome veil that happened to be on clearance. I am so happy with my decision and that I was given the time to think about my purchase without any pressure. My dress was ordered and arrived quickly for pick up, Roberta was also super helpful with helping me envision some alterations I can have done, I am still waiting to be closer to my wedding date to have alterations done but overall I am happy with the dress I picked and my experience at David's Bridal, if you go to this location, request Roberta, she is wonderful! read more

Yes, it's David's. I admit, I didn't want to go because I was afraid I'd get screwed and overwhelmed and maybe even felt a little snobbish. Guess what? Got my dress there. And my veil, hairpiece, sash, and bridesmaids' dresses there with NO issues. It was a Christmas miracle! In I can't remember what month but it wasn't December! I love Monique Lhuillier's designs, but knew she was waaaaaay out of my budget. Sigh. The search went on for a lace dress with cap sleeves. Lo and behold, David's came through! Yep, the one from the catalog and the commercial, if you've seen it. The craftsmanship isn't all that fantastic, but I didn't really expect it to be for $599. Truth be told, I'm wearing it for one day, so I'm not that fussed. Like another reviewer, Roberta was my consultant, and I'm convinced she made all the difference. I saw her every time I went in, and was always greeted with a smile and a big hug. She wasn't hovery and realized right away that I was done trying on dresses when I put mine on. I got my alterations done elsewhere, since I'd heard horror stories about David's alterations (still don't quite 100% trust them!), but I didn't really need any to begin with, just the bustle. I had a good experience at this store, mostly because of our excellent attendant, Danielle. She was attentive, professional, and patient - and we were there for a full three hours! If she was wishing we would leave, she didn't show it, and she helped me find dresses I liked and provided helpful feedback. The dressing room could have used a bench or something else to put clothes on (it was completely empty save for some hooks on the walls), and the attendants seemed a bit overextended (Danielle had to split her time between us and another bride), but overall I was happy with how the appointment went. read more

Last week I made a call to David's Bridal. I am in a wedding next week and embarrassingly enough, the bridesmaids dress that I had was a bit too small. Before taking it to a seamstress I made some calls to David's bridals in the area to see if I could simply exchange it for another size. I was directed to the store in Danvers Massachusetts, where a wonderful young service representative told me over the phone that if I made the drive there, I could exchange my dress for a size up if there was no damage to my current dress. Therefore, on Sunday night I left immediately from my Air Force Base in Connecticut and made the 2-and-a-half-hour drive to the Danvers David's Bridal. I was still in my uniform as I had rushed to make it there before the store closed. I politely told the first person I saw that I was there to exchange for another size and the woman, who identified herself as Suanne the store manager, promptly told me that it was "not the David's Bridal way". I explained that I had driven 200 miles after being told that I could exchange my dress for one in a different size that was in stock. She repeatedly told me that I must be mistaken as this was "not the David's Bridal way". I was practically in tears at this point and kept explaining that the wedding was in 10 days. At this point, I made the decision that I would just buy the dress. Suanne looked in back for the dress for about 30 seconds before returning and saying that it was not in stock. She then made a loud phone call to another store asking if they had the dress in stock and loudly explaining in a condescending and annoyed tone that she had a "soldier" in her store who needed a new dress. She very loudly explained that I "did not fit" in the size that I currently had and needed a size 10. I have never felt more mortified and embarrassed. Thankfully, the other store had the correct size in stock. She told me the address and said that I "better fly there" to make it before they closed. As I drove to the Westwood David's Bridal, I called my husband in tears over how rudely I had been treated and how stressed I was driving as fast as I could to the next store. He called the Danvers store and asked for Suanne's supervisors name and a corporate number. When Suanne discovered that he was calling on my behalf, she informed him that moments after I left, she had found the dress and would happily exchange it for me if I wanted to. She refused to give him the information of her supervisor and only provided him with a customer service help line. I am shocked that a manager working for David's Bridal, a company based on making women feel beautiful, would be allowed to treat a customer that way. Having to ask for a larger size was embarrassing for me; and having her announce my inability to fit into my dress was mortifying. I am disappointed that she did not make more of an effort to locate the dress, as I ended up driving a total of 6 hours that night for a trip that should have been a little over 4 hours. Suanne was callous and rude and provided me with the most negative shopping experience that I have ever had. A woman should never leave a store feeling as ashamed as I did. In my opinion, nothing about my experience at the Danvers location should be referred to as "The David's Bridal Way". read more

Yesterday I went to look for a wedding dress for the first time at David's Bridal without an appointment, sat down immediately for the initial consultation, and shortly after I was introduced to my bridal consultant, Roberta. The service was efficient and extremely polite--I felt like I was getting pampered!! Trying on dresses was really fun because Roberta listened to and respected my criteria, but also added in a few dresses from her own imagination. I ended up trying on 11 dresses and found the perfect dress for my Mexican beach wedding by Melissa Sweet, I'm so in love with the beading and lace details!! This store is pretty basic as far as aesthetics go, but the dresses are above and beyond expectation!! There is a huge selection of all different styles of bridal gowns which can be altered on site to fit your body's needs. Also the price is definitely right for those who are looking for a quality, artful dress but not willing to blow your savings on it. Overall I had a wonderful experience, made possible by the all staff at David's Bridal, and especially Roberta who really took a genuine interest in getting to know me. The whole dress trying on process took almost 3 hours and the whole time the staff, including the manager, Angel were very attentive and supportive. I had a wonderful experience at David's Bridal. I made an appointment on a Sunday with the understanding that this was one of the busiest days of the week hence the stylist would work with multiple customers.The expectation was set upfront therefore I had no issues with wait time and I completely understood how busy everyone was working there. It was my a first time visiting a bridal shop so I was a little anxious and overwhelmed but Hayley was very helpful and explained the process thoroughly. She is extremely knowledgeable and made your feel comfortable. I also felt that the other staff members were very professional and worked well under pressure/stress. I would rate the customer service level to be extremely high. I'm more the carefree easy going bride but I definitely overhead a few brides who were obviously stressed and were not able to manage or express their feelings appropriately to the people who worked there or to their family members. I understand picking out a dress can be overwhelming ....but some folks really need to RELAX.
