The technicians cleaning the teeth are good, but for dental work stay away. I've had problems with onlays and crowns falling off, the most recent crown right before Thanksgiving 2025. When I went back to re-cement the lower crown, the dentist noted that it was "the wrong kind of cement. See how it's flaking off," he said to the assistant. Then they left me in the dentist chair for about 40 minutes, and the office manager came in with a card reader, and presented a bill for $250 to reattach the crown. "Didn't I just have this crown put on?" I asked. She told me it was an old crown, done in 2017, so it wasn't covered. Since we were going into a four-day weekend I relented, but when I got home I went through my dental records - that crown was only 22 months old, so I felt I was misinformed. But the worst part is that I was sitting in the dental chair for almost 2 hours, listening to the grinding and filing in the next room. Yet I did have an appointment. And after that tortuous visit, the newly attached crown still felt too high, painfully pressing on the molar above it, because the harried dentist didn't have time to ensure a proper fit. Meanwhile, 5 weeks after being reattached, the crown has already fallen off, but I won't be going back to Central Coast Dental. end

With Christmas coming up, I was hoping to have it repaired promptly, which is why I scheduled an appointment in advance. Upon arrival, I was charged $250 for a diagnosis only. I was then informed that the office was overbooked and that I would need to remain in the chair while the dentist worked on another patient. Unfortunately, I had to leave for work and could not wait, which completely defeated the purpose of making an appointment in the first place. Despite the delay being on their end, I was still charged the full $250 simply for them to look in my mouth, confirm the chip I already knew about, and take an X-ray. I kindly asked if they would refund part of the fee due to the scheduling issue, but they refused and kept the full amount. I will not be returning. I am writing this review as a warning to others--this office charges a high consultation fee and then adds additional costs on top of that, which can be very difficult for patients paying out of pocket. I left feeling frustrated and honestly ripped off.

Remarkable Dentist and Staff - Compassionate, Skilled and Accommodating…read more We can't say enough about the extraordinary experience we had with Dr. Dodson and his staff. When our 101 year old Mother's denture's broke on a Sunday, we were not only worried about how we would get them repaired but also about how we were going to navigate her ability to eat without them. Also we weren't sure how we were going to manage it without putting her through the stress of a trip to the dentist. Amazingly Dr. Dodson was able to repair them without having to see her. We were lucky to find him, especially since he has a lab on site. Understanding the urgency, we were able to drop off the broken pieces first thing on Monday morning. He worked on them in between patients throughout the day. By 4:30 pm, he had them looking and functioning like brand new. The repair was perfect and no adjustments were needed! Dr. Dodson and his phenomenal staff were very compassionate about our situation and went above and beyond to help us. For that, my Mom and our family are deeply grateful!

I don't remember the first but she moved out of state, and then I started seeing Dana about 4 years ago. Unfortuntely she is married to a military husband and they moved about 2 years ago. The last 2 years I have been seeing Amy and Anna. They are both fabulous! My teeth always feel so clean. Amy uses some new tooth cleaner stuff and it is different than normal cleanings-but I really like it. I have had to see Dr. Drais for a few cleanings and a crown last year. He was very professional and did a great job. His assistants are really kind and everyone goes out of their way to make the experience as amazing as possible. I'm writing this review because I saw another review by Abdessamad that I felt was pretty petty. What you said makes no sense. He sent you to a specialist so that he could make money? You may not have been happy that Dr. Mickle charged you a lot but how is that Dr. Drais's fault? Also, when I call my mechanic and say that I need my car fixed, they try to get me an appointment. Why would a dentist not try and get you an appointment as soon as possible if you need a tooth pulled (and it probably hurts)? That is literally their job. And what is a mechanician?!

Even after it transitioned to Dr. Drais, I stayed because the prior office manager, Patty, and her team were fantastic. They were organized, followed up on billing and estimates promptly, and always called ahead if appointments changed. Unfortunately, since Patty left, the service has gone downhill. For my most recent procedure, I had to repeatedly follow up just to get an estimate -- which I didn't receive until days before the appointment. That was frustrating but not a deal breaker. The deal breaker was showing up for a crown appointment only to be told it had been canceled. The staff insisted I should have received a text, but no such message ever arrived. They told me they would add a "notation" to my account so that I would get a phone call in the future. In other words, phone calls for cancellations are no longer the norm -- only texts, unless you request otherwise. Call me old-fashioned, but when a dental procedure costs thousands of dollars and requires me to take time off work, I expect a phone call ahead of time if it's canceled. That's basic professionalism.
