I gave it a two because my 2 unseasoned chicken tenders were quite big and although it was cooked to perfection , it was bland the french fries was seasoned more than the chicken but the fries was hard no potato very undercooked, very unsatisfied, and I don't think they know what a slider is. We go here often. Usually great. The last two times have been awful. Staff is apathetic and rude. They just stare with no reaction when asked a question. Our issues have been multiple chicken pieces in our cauliflower meal. Perhaps not a big deal, but if you are marketing to vegetarians then it kind of is. Secondly, we went yesterday and all of the cauliflower was half the size it normally is and we paid 50 bucks for 2-3 people for probably less than 2 bucks of cauliflower. I let the lady at the front know it was abnormally small-I received non verbal stares. I've tried going through the app twice to let someone know. You just get an AI response through text. Super cute location & decor however the menu is very limiting only offering tenders and chicken sandwiches. Service was decent but I would suggest not going around 2pm during the weekdays as there are a ton of loud & rowdy high school students in there... The chicken was well seasoned on the outside & crispy to perfection but looks were deceiving as I bit into my sandwich the flavor didn't follow. My daughter on the other hand claims that this is now her fave restaurant so as with all restaurants, good tasting food is subjective. I will say, the portions are very big- I got the #4 which is a slider with fries. The fries were pretty good dipped in the Dave's sauce. Will I try it again? Ok so I scout for halal meat options so I have a list of go to places handy when I am craving good tenders or burgers and I stumbled upon Dave's hot chicken. First impressions, the place is swanky and spotlessly clean. Deja my server gave me suggestions of nice combos which helped me save money else I was planning to order 3 tenders and slaw which costed a bit more. The to go order took less than 10 minutes and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the tenders (holy, Moly!), I loved the side of Kale salad which wasn't overpowering flavor with Kale but just the right amount. Now the tender itself is crispy, delicious and spicy. I ordered Hot and I expected a bit more spice but it was delicious nevertheless. The Dave's sauce on the side which looked like southwest tasted really good and added a nice touch. I am not sure why the reviews said the chicken tasted sweet. It was good and on point. This was seriously good chicken. The menu is on the smaller side so you're either going to get a slider (which is practically a full-sized sandwich) and/or a chicken tender (which is practically a whole chicken). I made the mistake of ordering the combo that included one slider and 1 tender. I was so full after just the sandwich, there's no way I could've finished both. It also comes with a slice of white bread so it was like double chicken, double bread and really enough for 2 people. I got the hot spice level which ended up being perfect. I do love spicy food but I was out shopping with friends so I wasn't trying to go too spicy. It did take about 10 minutes to get our order but everything came out piping hot and fresh. read more

My first impression was that the employees did not want to be there as they didn't greet us and were not friendly. The menu consists of chicken tenders that can be ordered with buns or without. I got the #1 which was 2 chicken tenders, bread, and crinkle cut fries served with a small container of sauce. You can pick the level of heat you want your hot chicken to be. I also decided to order a milkshake as the meals don't come with drinks. They called our number and informed us that the shake machine was broken. Overall food was good, but nothing special. I was craving some hot chicken, so my husband and I decided to give Dave's a try. We both ordered some sliders and fries with cheese. I ordered the mild flavor and it was perfect for me as I don't love super spicy things. My husband ordered the medium flavor and we both agreed it was a little spicier than we enjoy, so we will stick with the mild! The flavor of the sliders were great, and the fries were also spiced to perfection. The cheese add-on was a good call. And the Dave's sauce - amazing! We got some extra to take home. Let's be honest. Delivery is never the perfect way to experience a restaurant. I think it's especially not the perfect way to experience a restaurant for the first time. However, I've been grateful that some friends have recently donated some GrubHub gift cards as I work through some health issues and spend more time than usual at home. It just so happens that today I was working from home and decided to order lunch delivered. After browsing options, I decided to check out Dave's Hot Chicken. I ordered a 2-Tender meal with fries. I also ordered a large chocolate shake. Again, delivery is weird. You inevitably pay more and yet almost as inevitably get a meal that doesn't measure up to a dine-in experience. While there are restaurants that do a pretty remarkable job of maintaining quality with delivery, the vast majority that I've experienced do not. My food arrived surprisingly quickly. It was in a nice container and still pretty darn warm upon arrival. I was impressed with the size of the tenders. The fry order was fairly standard with the fries being a smaller variation on crinkle-cut. Sadly, the chocolate shake did not arrive. I checked the receipt provided by Dave's and the chocolate shake was not listed (though was on my order and was paid for). While it's possible this was a GrubHub error, since it wasn't on the Dave's receipt and was on the GrubHub this seems like a restaurant entry error. Fortunately, GrubHub is refunding me for the lack of a shake. I ordered my tenders with a medium heat. It was definitely on the lesser side of medium and I had no issues with it (which I worried about considering I'd intentionally ordered the shake to balance things out). The dry rub was okay, but as a slightly spastic paraplegic I definitely found it on the messy side. I would consider it a solid 3-star, though I would also likely order it again. The fries were pretty decent, though nothing exceptional. Fries simply don't deliver well and these were solid mid-range for delivery. Overall, this was a decent meal but I can't deny being a bit disappointed. Even with my refund, we're talking about $25 or so when you toss in everything and it's definitely not a meal I would do again with delivery. If I were in Broad Ripple, on the other hand, I would probably still stop in. For now, 3-stars pretty much sums up the experience perfectly. read more

They have a large range of heat -- I went with the mild and that was enough for me. It had a nice kick but my mouth wasn't on fire. But if you want the fire go for the extra hot or reaper. My mom went with me and she got the no spice and was happy with it. I went with the slaw instead of the fries. It was really good. The chicken was tender and juicy. I thought the price was a little high but the portions were big. I ate twice off of my meal. This is not your traditional hot chicken - it's more dusty and has kind of a sweet allspice like flavor. The chicken was very juicy and the tenders were huge, probably a full breast or at least a half. Don't be scared to go up the heat scale. We started with medium and wished we would have gone further. We were supposed to have one extra mild tenders meal with fries, one sandwich meal with slaw, and one additional extra mild tender for the kiddo. They failed to give us the extra tender (they checked the receipt and said it wasn't rang in), but they accidentally gave us an extra sandwich meal. They said they mistakenly duplicated Mr. P's order - except the extra one had fries, not the slaw. Confused yet? The short of it was that we now had extra food, but only the fries were a bonus. We were still short the extra mild tender, and we couldn't give the spare medium sandwich to the kiddo (too hot). The service from the cashier and kitchen was great, other than getting our order wrong. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Everything in front of broad ripple is a bit crazy right now with construction, but that's no reason not to venture out and try new places! We were out near Broadripple and decided to stop for lunch. I convinced my 11 year old to venture out from McDonalds and try Dave's Hot Chicken. Our cashier, Kumaria, was really patient while my daughter decided on a Tender Meal (Lite Mild) with an Oreo Shake, while I got two sliders and fries (Medium). My daughter described the Oreo shake as scrumptious, and we both had to-go boxes. The pickles were on the side, which she loved bc they were still crunchy and not warm bc of the sandwich. Great food and perfect location to stop with the kiddos after a fun morning at Holiday Park. Outdoor seating not too busy felt secure so my toddlers could dance between bites to the fun music- Elvis and oldies are piped here. A slider is a large chicken tender coated in whichever heat level you have selected, topped with Dave's sauce, pickles, and slaw. Very delicious.
