Tried the Chandler location of Dave's Hot Chicken and overall it was a really solid experience. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the medium spice level was just right -- enough heat to be interesting without setting your mouth on fire. The famous Dave's sauce was also delicious and went great on the crinkle cut fries. For our order: * I got 2 sliders with crinkle cut fries * My husband went big with the large top-loaded fries * One kid got a slider, a strip, and mac & cheese * The other got a slider, a strip, and fries * We also grabbed some cauli bites to share * 4 Soft Drinks Everything came out fresh and the whole family enjoyed their meals. The price felt fair for everything we ordered including soft drinks, especially considering the portion sizes. The reason for the 4 stars is that we actually didn't go inside, so I can't really comment on the ambiance or customer service experience. I don't often patron fast food restaurants so maybe I'm just not used to rude workers. No one was in line inside so rather than use the kiosk we ordered at the counter and asked some simple questions that were all met with sarcastic responses. For example: Me: "What sauces do you have?" Worker: "It comes with regular sauce". Me: "Ok, what is that?" Worker: "It's Daves". Me: "Do you have other options?" Worked: "Yes but you have to pay". Me: "Ok, do you think you can you tell me what they are?" Worker: (points generally at the menu) "They are there". I understand people have bad days, but acting all high and mighty because I'm asking simple questions? I mean, come on stop being a man-child. Then when I'm paying you have the nerve to say the usual "it's going to ask you a few questions" implying the TIP I'm suppose to leave when you don't even bring the food to the table? It's insulting that this place dares to ask for a tip when they do nothing for it. So two baskets of chicken strips and some fried cheese for $50, and all 11 of my fries were room temp (yes, I counted them since there were so few). Food took 14 minutes (I assume the drive thru was a bigger priority). The chicken was OK nothing really special. As a business owner myself, I couldn't help but watch 1 woman behind the counter doing 95% of the work including all drive thru orders while the others just stood around. Therefore my guess is this place is just poorly managed, so in my mind I can't help but think about what problems they must have in the kitchen if the front of house is like this. Dave's RAW chicken...I have been waiting for corporate or the store manager to contact me regarding our experience but no one has. Hopefully this will save someone some trouble. We tried Dave's Hot Chicken for dinner and for fast food, this place was good. The service was good and fast. I got a Dave's #1 combo (medium) and my wife got the Top Loaded Fries. The chicken was seasoned well, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I probably should have ordered mine with spice level Hot instead of medium. It had great flavor but just a little spice. The fries were nice and crispy with just the right amount of seasoning. My wife really enjoyed her loaded fries, and added some hot honey sauce. The french fries were a standout--crisp all the way through and seasoned just right, not overdone or underdone. Easily some of the better fast-casual fries I've had lately. This was my first time here and it didn't disappoint! When ordering I got help with some recommendations on spice level and the overall order. I know that is sometimes tough to give that level of service in the drive through but I appreciated it and took all his advice. Elijah at the front was absolutely awesome. Not only is his customer service on fleek, as I was walking my dog from Petsmart to here, he completely escaped from his leash and went running down the street. About 3 nights ago I ordered two number 4 meals, clearly repeating my request multiple times. The man on the intercom confirmed that I would receive two number 4s, with one being cauliflower. I love that you can select a different flavor for each tender. Mine were mild and medium. Both were covered in the seasoning and had good flavor. Medium had a nice kick to it. The crinkle fries are also seasoned. They were good, but I'd prefer just salt since the chicken was already full of seasoning. The Dave's sauce had too strong of a mayo flavor for me. Overall the food was pretty good, though the price is a bit steep - $12.29. The strawberry shake is the same one you can get anywhere else, the chicken "sliders" as they call them are merely a smaller version of everyone else's larger chicken sandwich except it has some hot sauce on it depending on how how you want it. The fries? Eh, to salty in my opinion, maybe it's their "special" seasoning. The Mac & Cheese was good but at the same time, isn't it always? I would say the kid at the intercom and at you window were both pretty good at trying to help me with my order even though we struggled getting on the same page about what we wanted on the sandwiches, lol. We figure it out though. I had gone through the drive-thru so I couldn't really see the inside but looking through the window leaving the drive, it seemed clean enough in there. Anyway, if no one else is open, I would say go for it, otherwise, take your pick of mediocre fast food chicken sandwich places. Drinks aren't included okay, but I ordered a slider and fries which took about 20 minutes and once I got it wow I was disappointed. You know it's bad when the best thing on your plate are the sliced pickles. The slider had one super dry chicken tender that literally had the consistency of jerky. I couldn't eat it on the bread and had to kind of tear it apart. How did I wait almost half an hour for something that tasted like it sat underneath my dresser for a day or two?
