I requested a new AC in my Honda crv. As well as one other prior job.the quality of the work was superb. The price was the cheapest available both times. the only flaws that I would have to say about this business is they take a little bit longer than what they originally say . . . i ÷ . and they don't call you to tell you they're finished. I had to call them every time to find out my vehicle is finished which is kind of a damper when all you want to do is get back to your normal routine. read more

I send this Review on behalf of my Sister In-Law (Irma E. from Tucson, Az.)... Earlier this year (February 2025) I took my Dodge Durango in for Emissions Testing and was told that a Check Engine Light (CEL) was on which prevented a "Passing Test". After searching for a location to look into the CEL issue, I ended up at Dave's Auto Repair. I was initially told that there was a fuel leak in the gas tank that was causing the CEL issue. After authorizing the repair, at a cost of $500, I was told to drive the vehicle at least 50+ miles, after which time the CEL would turn off. Well, the CEL persisted causing me to return to Dave's Auto Repair. After several attempts to correct the CEL, which covered over 2 months of return trips, I was told by Dave that the issue was actually a defective Gas Tank (that needed replacement). The Gas Tank replacement was authorized and, after another month of Vehicle Down Time, I again picked up my vehicle which was now equipped with a New Gas Tank and Replacement Gas Cap, all to the tune of another $500. In addition, I was told that the CEL would turn off after driving the vehicle for another 50+ miles. Unfortunately, the CEL did not go away so I decided to change "tactics" and took my vehicle to a Dodge Service Center (LHM). A Service Rep inspected my vehicle and determined that the Gas Cap was a Non-Certified Dodge part that was not sealing properly. An OEM Gas Cap was then installed which immediately caused the CEL to turn off, this at a cost of $50. So it looks like I was "taken" by Dave's Auto Repair at the tune of $1000 of probably un-needed repairs (looks like the real issue was just a work Gas Cap not providing the proper seal). Hold On!!! the story continues. Last week (early July 2025) I started up my Dodge Durango and immediately began to smell the odor of gas. As I began to inspect my vehicle, I found that a large gas leak was coming from my "newly installed" Gas Tank. I immediately turned off my vehicle, but the gas continued to leak out from the Gas Tank. Rather than return my vehicle to Dave's Auto Repair, I had it towed to the Dodge Service Center (LHM) for further inspection and repair. Morale of this Story, STAY AWAY FROM DAVE'S AUTO REPAIR....terrible service for unnecessary auto repairs, oh, and by the way, very rude!!!. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Cheap, Rude, Slow. Brought my truck in a while back and mysteriously expensive parts and tools went missing (stolen) out the back. Ignored my calls and attempts to get in contact. Reports have been made. Lousy excuse for a auto shop. read more

I will never take a vehicle here again. Careless with repairs, did not stand by their workmanship to fix properly and offered no refund or discount. Stay away in my opinion. read more

Requested quotes here for a catalytic converter replacement on a 2007 Scion. Dave's was the lowest estimate, they did the work within a couple days, the price was what they estimated, and they did not push other services. Thanks Guys! read more

Work on van was done on time and at reasonable rate. Will call on them for future work. read more

We recently had our Jeep serviced at Dave's and were very satisfied with the communication and honest pricing. What could have been an expensive fix was much less because they did their research and found the specific item that was not working versus replacing the entire part. Would highly recommend! read more

Don't go here let everyone know. David is a crook and only wants to charge you an inspection fee and do the easiest jobs possible. My car was there for 4 days. He told me to bring it in on Thursday and it didn't get get to it till Tuesday he literally didn't do anything to it. He even said he put it on lift and took it right back down to get to another car like my truck wasn't important. He literally told me he did NOT look take my wheel off to inspect he told me what I already knew and charged me a service fee of $70 dollars for absolutely nothing. David relies on his crystal ball and doesn't inspect your vehicle. He has many years of experience so he claims, but backs out on jobs. I wouldn't take a hot wheel toy car to him. He pushed my gear in park so hard my transmission is now not going into reverse and its a new transmission. I hope that $70 dollar inspection fee was worth it because I will be taking them to court for my damages. read more

I had a vacuum leak and needed a smoke test same day. Dave got me in and came to get me to show me exactly where the leaks were as it was being tested, he reiterated himself as I asked questions to make sure I knew what to do. He saved me from a huge headache. read more

I got stick by emission station, Dave signed a repair, I had ran out of gas after going though these long line to get your vehicle inspected, and Dave sent his son to get more gad for me. I'm a handicapped senior so I appreciate his blessing. Thanks Dave, Paul Johnson read more

Dave delivers wonderful work! I have an old car that needs a lot of attention. He offered an honest consultation, took care of things right away, and had my car back to me within a reasonable time frame. He was up front and clear about all the charges and provided me with instant communication throughout the process. I am new to Tucson, and was highly impressed by his skill and professionalism, and I will continue to have him service my car in the future. read more

When I went to pick up my vehicle today I had genuine leather seat covers that were made to fit my vehicle, and they were gone along with some parts in my car. When I asked Dave where the seat covers were he said I thought they were clothe(without me saying leather) and then refused to answer. I'm am also still looking for other missing items like my turbo housing. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE HE WILL STEAL FROM YOU! read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SERVICE This place is a joke. DO NOT go here for anything. Horrible service, mediocre and unprofessional business. Dave, the owner is a very distracted and improper person and will not put any good work into your vehicle, specially since he will try to fix 5 cars at once. Trying to help others by NOT coming here read more

final review never going back here. I called to see when the starter was replaced and if it had a warranty for the Eclipse and he said without a paper receipt there was no proof and they don't keep records in their computer. I had it replaced by Brake Masters and paid for the lifetime warranty instead. There is also no shuttle here so wasn't convenient. I had called about the check engine soon light being on a while back but luckily it fixed itself so I didn't have to take it in there. I had a problem also a while back after I replaced the battery with it wanting to hesitate and not keep the idle. He charged $40 for diagnosis and $60 for the computer to run on it for 1/2 to 1hr without him really doing anything. I was relieved when he explained it had to "relearn" the process of running after the battery was replaced and it ran ok, but that was actually a steep price altogether for the service he provided. read more

I went to Dave's a while back after my Ford F150 failed emissions; he turned a screw 1/4 of an inch and charged me $40. Not thrilled, but hey - the truck passed. So I take my son's MR2 to him because it's just a little high in CO. He charged me the same $40 to tell me he had no idea what was wrong with the car. It might be this or it could be that and here's how much I will charge for each of them. Useless..... read more

Dave overcharges and is a careless mechanic. I would give negative stars if Yelp allowed it. My car showed 2 diagnostic codes. One for a cylinder 2 misfire and one for a valve. Dave quoted me $100-$300 for the work. So I left the car with him because he said it would take 3-4 hours until my car was done and could give me a final price then. When I returned to pay for it, the receipt said "plug & wire $150." I checked under the hood before I left the shop to make sure the wires were changed and there was only ONE new wire with, which I am assuming since I can't see it, ONE new spark plug! Sure enough, I found my old spark plug on top of the battery!!! Had I driven off without finding the old spark plug on top of the battery, I could have created a fire or damaged another car part! I went back inside and asked if he would consider changing the other 5 spark plugs & wires since I thought he overcharged me for a single spark plug & wire. He said it would cost me more and became defensive saying I was coming at him "angry" and would refused to service my car in the future. I clarified that I wasn't angry, I just thought he overcharged me. I told him I would call other shops & ask how much they would charge me to change a single spark plug & wire to compare his price. He laughed. He & I know no one else changes a single spark plug & wire. When I asked how much he charges an hour for labor, he said $85. I told him it doesn't take an hour to change a spark plug and wire. He said "it's a bitch to go back there to reconnect the wires so I charged extra." Point of the story, he is a rude rip-off. read more

I have used Dave's for a number of repairs over the years, and have gotten nothing but excellent service, and more than fair pricing! I am an ASE Certified Service Consultant, so I know when someone calls and tries to sell me something that is not needed, or trying to upsell/inflate my repair bill. This has NEVER happened with Dave's Auto Repair. In fact, quite the opposite! I appreciate the honesty and professionalism provided when I don't have the time (or inclination) to repair my own vehicles. I will certainly be back again! read more
