Perhaps he is of Irish heritage, I never had the opportunity to find out 1) I have seen over 300 photographs of his work This man is the very BEST if you are only looking for a handyman or have no assistance from even an essentially useless husband in the paint or a long hair clogged shower drain 2) Shay is a LIAR I appreciate that he was willing to drive out to The suburbs of Chicago from all the way East in Logan Square His estimate is NOT free as Yelp guaranteed He requires photographs (easy peasy) of the locks as well as *$45* to even come out to take a look He broke the Yelp Guarantee right there Chicago Locksmiths should be banned from Yelp same as nobody should have voted for Trump. There were zero good choices but at least ond was NOT a babbling dementia suffering 90 yeat old 3) Shay claims the his primary concern is home and auto safety If that were actually true then with photos in hand he has zero reason to have a $45 fee to take a look I have zero reason to take issue with Shay - especially his quality of work All that I know is that Shay LIED to Yelp in order to gain business and if that works for him, then I do not give a fxck I shall not be used I have Elite and All-Star status that I EARNED with Yelp and followers Every single one of my Yelp reviews are shared with Google I sincerely hope that my review discourages anybody and everybody from hiring Chicago Locksmiths

But I can attest that my experience with Chicago Locksmiths was all I could have hoped for and more. Aedan was phenomenal - I called because I needed to get an electronic lock installed. He not only set up time to come by, but he proactively recommended electronic locks to me, steering me towards a better lock than the one I planning to install. After I looked further into it, he saved me the hassle of having to get additional hardware to use with the other lock I was planning to go with. That's above and beyond service in my opinion. Response time was pretty much immediate and Aedan was able to come out same day without an extra charge. Also, he was so patient throughout all my questions - just amazing customer service. I would never do business with this company again. You would swear I was asking a trigonometry…read morequestion asking for a rekeying estimate. I have come to this location and EASILY worked with prior employees a few years ago to get Mul-T-Lock keys copied and regular keys. But it has been the most unnecessary struggle to ask about an estimate for rekeying doors with a master key (for non-Mul-T-Locks). Even after answering a bunch of questions from Denise B., she still asked me to call. I did call and she was "busy" one time and "on lunch" two minutes after replying to me another time. So then I'm on hold waiting to answer the exact same questions I answered via email. And I talked to Rick, who was responsive via email and guarded in a bizarre way over the phone. Not only did I break down the number of doors and the number of keys, but he just completely refused to answer some estimate questions and claimed I had to pay an $89 service fee just for them to LOOK at the key. Or, talk to Denise B., who always seems to be busy, or Alex (who is apparently out of the office). The customer service rep Emily was absolutely obnoxious and acted like I was asking to speak to a CEO, even after I gave a first and last name for the people I'd spoken to via email. I wish I'd written down the first guy's name because he was very pleasant, patient and informative, but he just didn't know the rest of the prices. I'll get estimates elsewhere. I don't know what has happened with this company in the past four years or why everything is overly complicated, but it was NOT like this in 2021.
