We pass this place, everytime we go check on 1 of our properties. We finally decided to plunge in and check it out for breakfast. Maybe it was the Wuhan, but anyway here goes nothing. The outside is really standard for the area, drab, blended in with the drab. Sort of a small strip plaza that could be more suited for a flea market or vape shop. It's a 1 room fits all diner. Ceiling looks like it was about to come down, in a few places. No hostess, seat yourself. Stare at a server until they bring you a menu, then realize it is quicker to just get them yourself. Server comes over with a look that says "I need a cigarette." I get it, its Covidseason. Noone is happy, but here we are supporting the small business and getting small service. Food was biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs for me. Meat omelet for my lady, whom suggested this place. Ssshhhh. The biscuits weren't that bad, found out they come in already made. Gravy was bland. Very bland. I cant remember the last time I put so much salt and pepper on biscuit gravy to give it flavor her meat omelet looked stout, but it also looked like it had an oil leak. Needless to say, she didnt care for it. We ate what we could, left a 30% tip. Why not, it's the covid thing to do. I'll have to check with a higher power on whether or not we would come here again. read more

Might not look that appealing from the road but don't let this hidden gem pass you by! Service was good, food is Excellent! Been there twice now while working in town and is now my favorite place to go with daily specials and a nice menu to pick from as well. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. Had been wanting to try Da Kitchen Too since shortly after moving back to the Bay/Waveland area back in April. Finally did yesterday (26October2015) when I had to wait for flood waters to recede from the streets around the parents house. Excellent food at great prices and nice portions. Had the Country Fried Steak that came with 2 eggs, diced potatoes (will also try the grits next time), toast an unsweetened (only way I'm not a good southern boy) iced tea. Also want to go back to try their lunch one day. Will add more once I get to do that. 27October2015. Eating lunch her with father. My shrimp po' boy generously loaded and his spaghetti (Tuesday lunch special) is a generous portion. Prices still great. Po' boy delicious with and without the Louisiana's Pure Crystal Hot Sauce. Excellent food and prices! I had the shrimp po it and it was LOADED! Hubby had the patty melt burger and it was a REAL burger, thick, thick, thick, and cooked perfectly. We shared a small order of Fried Oysters and they were the best I've had; not greasy, perfect size, and well seasoned. We liked it so well that the following day, we called in a takeout order. Everything in our order was accurate and was as good as the food had been when we ate on-site. We took a peek at their breakfast menu, too. A home cooked breakfast here costs about the same as a drive-through sausage-egg-& cheese biscuit at a fast food place. Yes, we will definitely be regulars here and we won't mind bringing the whole family because it won't break the bank. We are singing their praises to our friends who visit this area! read more

Not impressed. The place was full of locals which is usually a good thing. Not so much in this case. I'm a fan of comfort food as much as anyone. If you want big plates full of unseasoned food this is the place for you. The mashed potatoes were instant and pretty bland. The meatloaf was average at best. Service was simple and to the point and good and I respect that, but a place like this should do better than Ryan's buffet type of seasoned food. This isn't a fancy place, but the food is good, came out hot and fresh. We received our food rather quickly after ordering. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my husband got the shrimp and crawfish omelet. My fried potatoes were nice and hot and crispy, I was a little disappointed when I cut into my chicken fried steak, I was expecting real meat, not a processed formed frozen patty. My husband's Omelet was good as well, it comes with onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, cheese and of course shrimp and crawfish. It was also very good, a little too much onion for his liking. His disappointment was that they used pickled jalapeños instead of fresh. Yes, we are sort of fresh ingredient snobs. I can go to the grocery and grab a pack of Frozen steak patties and throw them in the fryer. If it would have been in the description that this was a preformed patty, I would not have ordered it. This was my reason for only 4 stars and not 5. I will add that the prices were very fair. The service was not as good for us as most people on here. When we sat down it took about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and bring us a menu. I'm not expecting instant acknowledgement, we had to ask someone if we can have a menu. After asking someone brought us one immediately. Seconds after that our waitress came to our table. There were only a few customers in the restaurant at the time, most tables were open. Maybe we were just a little impatient. Our server was very pleasant, clean and nice. My only complaint was that she didn't ask if we needed anything to go with our meal (condiments). She brought our plates and she was off....We had toast and biscuits, so some butter and jelly would have been nice, again we had to catch someone and ask. Would I recommend this restaurant to a friend? Yes. Would I return to this restaurant? Yes, we are going to try the dinner and may have a better experience the next time. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place yet! We come down to Mississippi to do some camping and we eat here just about every day! It's some of the best food I've ever eaten. No lie, it's great. Don't let the outside fool you, just go in. Oh, and dont mind the ceiling tiles, I haven't seen one fall yet. Now the food is the star along with being called baby and honey you just can't help but feel welcomed. I love it when people come through the door and everybody knows EVERYBODY! You have to order at the counter between 1030 and 230 because they get BUSY! Go order the fish and shrimp special and go over and get your drink. It's sooo good. I've had the BBQ shrimp app which doesn't have BBQ sauce on it. It's more of a garlic and oil sauce. Its delicious. I've also tried the Kajun Katrina which is fried fish over rice with seafood bisque over it. Yummm Get the seafood bisque in a cup too because it's fabulous! We tried the crab balls tonight and they were great! I wasn't crazy about the onion rings, to greasy and overdone. I'll forgive them because everything else is wonderful. If you want great onion rings, go over to MacBea's. We love this place for it's food and it's people. You'll always feel welcomed and the food is stellar! If you want breakfast, go early. Good quality cajun food that you don't have to travel an hour away to go get if you live in the area. It has all the basics from etoufee to PoBoys. It is a bit of a hole in the wall, but if that's what you like then this place is for you. Staff is really friendly too. read more

The food was good, Pork chops, staff was friendly. We had to sit in a back dining room. The A/C vents and the air return were very rusted and molded. The ceiling tiles were trying to fall down because of an obvious roof leak. The final straw was when a customer from another table, about 15 feet away, came and sat at a vacant table about 6 feet away from our table, and lit up and smoked a cigarette so our food was hard to enjoy after that. We weren't told that we were eating in the smoking section. I don't think smoking in a restaurant should be allowed. Also a couple of guys kept going back and forth between this dining room to the kitchen without wearing a mask. I don't think I'll be eating here again. read more

Found this great food place quite by accident. Looks like a hole in the wall place that you should avoid but I was hungry. Turns out to have GREAT food in large serving at a reasonable price. I ate there every day for the four days I was in the area and would go back today except it's a 5 hour flight and one hour drive. Incredible! I didn't expect too much from its little outside but dang! These ladies knocked it out of the park! Every staff member was very sweet and helpful with the menu. The walls have beautiful paintings sprawled across them. Nothing was bland. Great portions for the price! I had the fried shrimp poboy (poboys are 12 inches), my friend had a BLT and they were very generous with the bacon portions. Generous with all of the portions! A little disappointed in the "southern" portion of the menu since the reason we stopped was the sign in front said something about southern cooking. Not too many sides. I was hoping to see butter beans, greens, and cornbread somewhere on the menu. Maybe some kind of stewed squash or something. Sorry, but if you are "southern menu" then cornbread and greens should be available everyday lol. This was more of a seafood-ish type place with a few southern options. My advice, arrive hungry. Begin with the onion rings as an appetizer. These are not frozen pre battered onion rings, they are sliced fresh onions that are battered in house and have the perfect amount of spice. Probably the best onion rings I have had in a long time. A half order is more than enough for two people. The fried fish is fresh seafood and again, it the portion is huge! The staff were friendly and the kitchen staff was quick. The prices are fair, but when you factor the quality and quantity it is a great value. Pretty ordinary to me. I had the crawfish étouffée. My salad was basic but tasted like it was made yesterday and stored in the fridge with other food. The etouffee was a little too tomatoey for me. The slice of pecan pie was nicely cut from the pie they pulled out of the freezer they picked up at the grocery store down the street. Food was excellent. Unlike the weird restaurant right next door selling the same menu but more expensive and smelt like old mop water. Anyhow; I'll start with the service: Miss T was excellent. Old school straight to the point followed by a smile.the younger y'all girl with dark hair took our drink order and appetizer order, T followed up with our dinner order. My lady had the red fish special. We heard "last red fish for the night" after she ordered hers. From the looks of it it was an iqf (individually quality frozen) being that it was a perfect 5-6oz portion but cooked perfectly and the sauce and pasta were great. Crab stuffing stuffed mushrooms were ok nothin to write home about but still solid and good. Side salad was crisp and fresh. Got our own bottle of ranch and the ranch was ice cold and nice to have our own squeeze bottle to use as much as we would like. Sweet tea was fresh sweet and ice cold. Hamburger steak was great. Had it with French fries. Both ironically were not seasoned at all but I added salt and pepper like a big boy with some Louisiana hot sauce and it was on point. Big portion. Almost a pound burger smothered with grilled onions and brown gravy(not homemade) but doctored up enough to make it tasty. The girls did a great job and backing each other up. As a professional chef I am very hard to impress. Very very picky about my food. Y'all did a great job. I'll be back from Slidell LA next week for an omlete and some fried fish. Great job. Well done.
