The price varies upon the amount of time needed access files, manually access data, etc. He spent over 1.5 hours with me discussing the computer, the industry, showing me the advances in computer electronics. Anyway. He called today and stated that the downloading was a lot easier and quicker then he anticipated so the cost is $75.00. When I first started using them, I'd been told by a couple of other computer techs that my data could not be salvaged on my laptop at the time. I went to Victory and they quickly found and backed up every bit of my substantial amount of data! And did it all with a smile while they chatted with me, and then charged me far less than I expected, which I've learned is their norm. Last year after a crash, Dell's tech told me my data could not be salvaged as the hard drive had failed. Victory once again retrieved and backed up ALL of my data from the bad hard drive, and Dell then replaced the bad drive. The owner, Frank, and his staff are the nicest bunch of guys you could meet, and I've yet to have to wait for service. I walk in, and they take care of my computer while I wait. I also bought a new external drive from them for a very fair price, and it's been very reliable. After some rocky experiences with computer techs in the past, I would never go anywhere else. I've never been failed by this place! If you guys see this: Thanks Frank and crew for your exceptional service! I appreciate what you've done for me tremendously! -Dan

Terrible experience. Do not recommend.I dropped off my disabled husband's laptop on a Wednesday…read moreSept 2 afternoon at 1pm. I did expect some update the next day, but that did not happen, so Friday afternoon with still no update, my husband called them about 3pm. The employee put him on hold for 2-3 min or so, gets back on the phone and said, "Oh, I found it," as if it had been lost in their incredibly cluttered, messy store. (don't believe me? I can upload a pic...was like a Hoader's haven) He then told us they were closed Sunday, and Mon too for Labor Day, and he would get back to us on Tuesday. When they finally called Tuesday afternoon, they told us the laptop couldn't be fixed. When I went to pick it up, they tried to charge me a $90 diagnostic fee. They never mentioned a fee when I dropped it off, and I didn't expect one as in the recent past I'd used a reputable repair place for my own laptop, (3 letter place in Amityville)--they never charged me a diagnostic fee) but my husband read great reviews for "Shore Thing" which is why I went there instead (Mistake!) When I entered, likely distracted by the messy clutter which I never before saw in a professional store, I had Not noticed the price list sign on he left side wall, stating diagnostics were $60. Upon seeing it, (in fact the employee pointed it out to me!) I half in jest said "So, does the owner have something against Pastors...they get charged 50% more?" The polite enough employee texted the owner (I assume "Rich") and said that the owner agreed to the actual $60 price. I paid, and the employee returned the lapttop to me dis-assembled, the back off, mother board internal parts all exposed and the 2 hard drives and screws all taped to the removed back cover! To add insult to injury, they knew my husband is a disabled, retired Pastor who was devastated about losing his life's work on that laptop, and when I politely told the worker on my way out that I was not happy & not at all satisfied with their service (or lack thereof!) & the $60 fee , and that I didn't expect to get my husband's laptop returned to me totally disassembled , he gave me a cruel parting shot and said "Well then, why don't you go home and listen to your husband's sermons?) -- fully knowing the sermons were locked up on the broken computer/hardrive. Nice, huh? Shoddy business practices, hidden price markups, and completely disgraceful customer service. Avoid this place as you would the plague. I CAN add photos...and WILL if Rich disputes this post, or accuses my rather detailed review here as being "fake", or says "he doesn't have us on record -- as I see he had done with several other negative reviews as his way I suppose, of negating them! Oh, also prior to going, the Function keys worked, (F2, F9, F10) etc as I did run the dianostics and knew the hard drive could not be found, which is why I took it there, and now upon returning home, the Function keys no longer work now either

Today, New Years Eve day, I brought my new Asus Desktop to Natan, of Componline Computer Repair in Commack, I violated the warranty by opening the unit and installing several hard drives and some memory. When I tried to run the machine I got nothing - it appeared dead. I was expecting to leave the desktop, pay a hefty estimation fee and return several days (weeks?) later to claim my PC and pay an even heftier repair fee. Natan put my unit on his workbench and after half an hour of diagnosis and adjustments got my machine working again. He allowed me to stay and watch and explained to me each step of the way what he was doing. Blown away? You bet! But here is the clincher - Natan charged me LESS that what I would spend on lunch! And he guarantees his work. I thought all repair guys were not afraid to push the envelope and charge for things left and right - and what would I know? Well, I have several more desktops that aren't working and I am bringing them to Natan after the first of the year. If you have any problems, I strongly recommend Componline Computer Repair. I am going to try to post this as well on his website along with my phone number in case you have questions or want a verbal recommendation. Dov Feder
